Opinions de Il Cortile Paso Robles
Fantastic Italian spot with a great atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the wine list is impressive without being overwhelming. Service was professional, helpful, and prompt. Highly recommend for a nice night out.
Our waiter Frank was great! He took care of us from start to finish, was attentive and patient with us even though the dining room was packed! Ordered the veal chop with chefs choice temp and it came out immaculate (fats rendered properly with seared outside) it was tender! My honey had squid ink pasta she liked it but would probably give it a 4/5. We had the opportunity to share this wonderful food with our friends who were also celebrating their 22nd Anniversary! The lava cake had a great wiggle when it came out but it was 30 seconds over there was no lava flow coming from the cake. The inside was quite moist and it was still tasty just no flow of chocolate. I’ll be back to try more things and give that Lava Cake another chance!
If you are looking for authentic Italian fine dining, Il Cortile should be on your radar. I ordered filet, and it was actually cooked exactly how I asked, and the black truffle risotto was rich without being too heavy. The flavors were fresh and intentional. We dined inside on a weekend night, and the atmosphere was cozy, dimly lit, and the service made you feel really taken care of. Price wise it is on the more expensive side, but absolutely worth every bite.
One of our favorite restaurants in Paso. The food is amazing. This time, she got the squid ink lobster and I got the osso bucco. Can't go wrong with either. But the star of the evening was a squash (might be buttersquash) gnocchi in brown butter sage sauce. OMG. A little sweet so might not be a great only dish but we added as a side dish to our meal and it was FANSTASTIC. The go to dessert for us was the Tiramisu. So moist, almost like a tres leches dessert in terms of texture. The cocoa topping was not bitter like some other Tiramisu. Brought a nice bottle of Bordeaux from the Margaux region to for the dinner. It was a PERFECT fit.
Amazing service! Amazing food! Great wine list! We had artichoke soup for the first time - creamy and delicious! Then the stuffed quail and spaghetti with clams, shrimp and bottarga for me - so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Seared scallops and the pork ossobuco for my husband - he said it was sooooo good!! Everything was so tasty and well cooked. Kudos to the chef!! Emily, the hostess, was so gracious, accommodating and helpful. We sat at the bar and Crystal, the bartender, was so attentive, had great recommendations, and excellent service. You have two gems with them. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning! PS - forgot to take photos - just the empty plates!! 😂
My first, but not last visit, to ll Cortile restaurant. I stopped in Paso Robles on my way back home from a trip to Santa Monica. Decided to search for an Italian restaurant with a good review and found ll Cortile. I had a great dining experience from the receptionist who greeted me to my female server/bar tender, as being alone, I sat at the 4-stool bar area. My server/bar tender was friendly, courteous and helpful with helping me make a decision, on not which wine I should try, but with my dinner choice as well. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with my dining experience and will make it a point to return for another great meal in the future.
The food was excellent. I tried a eggplant souffle, that was a 5+. The pasta is made fresh in house and all 4 of us loved our pasta dishes. I had a delicious fresh not too sweet chocolate cake with ice cream for desert. They had an excellent wine list also included a nice choice by the glass. The service was excellent. All 4 of us agreed that I'll Cortile was a great restaurant and made for a wonderful evening.
We have returned to this restaurant four times. It is our favorite restaurant when visiting. We have dined indoor twice and outdoor twice. We prefer outdoor dining as it is less noisy and stuffy. Echo inside the indoor dining makes it hard to carry out a conversation. Fortunately the food and service are both top notch. It is hard to beat in the area. Prices are also reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky, since it does not have a parking lot. Our go to parking is the bank parking lot. By the time the restaurant opens, the bank is already past its business hours.
Carole the owner made us feel like family. She came over our table at both restaurants and greeted us as if she had known us for years. The special moment came when she served my Aunt Martha with a speciality drink that wasn't on the menu. She had it brought to us from her second restaurant. That level of service is above and beyond. Thank you so much Carole for making my Aunt's weekend so memorable.
Came a highly recommended place and I will forward the same that anyone visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the zucchini blossoms to begin with and journey on to pastas to panna cotta. Being a vegetarian the chef created a concoction of spicy zesty sauce and created a wonderful dish. The truffle ricotta is truly to die for our bunch got seconds of it and was gone in seconds.
The best decision to make for a refined, Michelin Star-worthy Italian restaurant in the quaint downtown of Paso Robles. Whatever the reason that brings you through Paso Robles and/or to this little town, don't leave without dining at Il Cortile Ristorante. A taste of Italiono without going to Italy.
It's a must. Simply put. Il Cortile is fantastic. Our server, Emily, was engaging and put up with my bad jokes. She was attentive and accommodating. The Osso Bucco is the food star. Probably the best I've ever had. It is all I order from here (while stealing bites of others plates of course). The owner is a very sweet woman and touches every table. The support staff was courteous and our drinks from the bar were impeccable. Reservation highly recommended.
My wife and I traveled to Paso Robles to celebrate Valentine’s Day and her birthday. The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. We loved the grilled octopus appetizer. You could tell that the pasta from each of our main dishes was homemade. The tiramisu was so light and flavorful. We were so glad that we chose to celebrate Valentine’s Day at this restaurant. It exceeded our expectations.
We make an annual visit to Il Cortile for a special dinner and, while we've never been disappointed, this year was the most amazing! Of the amazing dishes and service I want to call out - Ivan, our server was so helpful and described each dish so well to help us decide - scallop appetizer was devine, cooked so perfectly and tender, served with delicious small sauces of variating flavor profiles - pesto truffle gnocchi was the most pillow-like and light gnocchi I've ever had, the flavor was out of this world - sea bass and branzino each had a flavorful and crispy side, fish was tender and cooked perfectly - osso bucco sets a new standard for that dish Only drawback is if you are seated in the patio it's rather chilly and not as comfortable an area. This was the first year we got to sit inside and it was so much better. Try to get reservations for the dining room! Thank you Ivan and Il Cortile for yet another memorable meal!
Pasta pappardelle with wild boar was delicious. Ribeye+filet steaks and seafood were properly prepared and at the right temp as ordered. Service/waiter was on point, attentive, efficient, and great. Dining room is cozy and the atmosphere + ambiance makes for a special nice adult evening out. Whiskey old fashioned cocktail was well prepared by the bartender. Highly recommend the Grilled Octopus appetizer.
Great Italian restaurant! The atmosphere was lovely, we sat outside and it was perfect to dine al fresco. The food was really delicious! The pastas were to die for! The two fish dishes we tried were perfectly cooked. The salad was delicious, the octopus and scallop dishes were amazing. Not pictured was the pana cotta that was the perfect way to end the meal. Would totally come back!
We arrived there at almost 10:00 pm, and we were able to get a seat very quickly. The server was attentive and friendly. He checked on us several times throughout the meal. We ordered the Capesante, Homemade Ravioli Pasta, Squid Ink Pasta, Veal Chop, and Tiramisu for dessert. All of them were very good, and I’d definitely go back to this restaurant if possible. Highly recommended!
I recently dined II Cortile for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. The service was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly accommodating. I would highly recommend sitting inside to fully experience the ambiance. Our server, Jason, was a true gem. He was well-educated on the menu items and had excellent recommendations. It was a pleasure to learn that the restaurant is a father-son food collaboration, adding a special touch to the experience. We tried a variety of dishes, and I must say that each one had a unique and distinct flavor profile. If you're looking for a high-end dining experience, this place is a fantastic choice. Whether you're going for a special occasion or a romantic date, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend it! One more thing worth mentioning is that this restaurant offers some fantastic truffle dishes with a generous amount of truffle. If you're a truffle enthusiast, you're in for a real treat here. Don't miss out on these delectable truffle-infused offerings during your visit! PS. End your experience with fruit tart, it will tie your entire experience together.
Very very good! Have been here several times and love it. I think the beef carpacio was incredible. I think they were running low on scallops last night. Incredible flavor but the scallops looked like they were half scallops or just centers.. Flavors still amazing! Will return.
To put this review in context, we are serious foodies. We have a difficult time finding restaurants we consider to be five star outside of France, various other locations in Europe, NYC, Chicago, etc. If we were only comparing this restaurant to others in the general area of Paso Robles, it would rank 4.0. To be honest, none of the restaurants we've tried in Paso Robles is worth the rather high prices that are being charged. However, in all fairness, it is a tourist location and this is probably part of the reason for the inflated pricing. The atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent. The sea bass was overcooked and very oversalted. The pasta dish (Fettucine salsiccia) was very good - we requested for them to bring crushed red pepper to the table which we then added to the dish and it definitely helped liven it up. The bread was marvelous. We dipped it in olive oil and it was warm, fresh and delicious. The panna cotta with berries was pretty good. The wine list was very good.
