10/16/25 Neat place! Service was really great, our server was friendly and knowledgeable as well as the manager we talked to about differences of whiskey and scotch etc. We ordered a few different drinks two whiskey sours, their main rye whiskey neat 2 ounces and one of their ciders which all were tasty! I also ordered the perioge plate to share which came with sauerkraut, kielbasa, pan fried perioges and sour cream. I'd love to come back when I visit again! Update: 1/15/26 Came back to Pittsburgh for a funeral, came here again and again, excellent service and great food! Added more food!
I love Wigle Whiskey in general, but this location is definitely my favorite! I’ve been here several times with friends to enjoy drinks and food, and I’ve also checked out a few of their seasonal pop-up bars the Monster Mash most recently. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is friendly, and the cocktails never disappoint!
A great place to add to your list to stop at while in Pittsburgh! The food is amazing. The staff are top tier. Fun history info is found on the walls as you head to the bathroom. Inside seating area has a window to see where the magic is made. Anytime I find myself in Pittsburgh, I will ALWAYS pop in for some delicious food, buy more merch, and chat with the staff.
Not my first time here but always a good time for drinks, food and to hang out with friends and family. We came in for the distillery tour. Before the tour Max’s bartending and conversation kept us entertained as we waited. We went downstairs to the lower bar. We met with our tour a had a very interesting tour going back in history even involving George Washington. After the tour we sat down for a talk and tasting. Overall a very informative and fun tour.
During my annual trips to Pittsburgh, this stop is a must! We even returned twice during this trip so we can purchase our take-home bottles. They make it all on-site and even offer tours. If you love whiskey, bourbon, gin, or rum, make this your stop too!
So I came here for some whiskey which was awesome. The flights of whiskey were incredible and they have other great spirits like rum and gin. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my food which was such a great surprise. I had a sandwich called the soprano which was a type of Italian combo. Basically salami and capicola on this Mancini bread. Anyway I will definitely be back there.
Chris was amazing! Ask him about the secret origin of the Fra-Gee-Lay! And ask him to use his favorite bourbon in your old fashioned!
We came here in a Monday afternoon in January. It was one of the locations on a Pittsburgh whiskey trail pass we had purchased from a separate entity. We had a voucher for the whiskey flight and I was pleasantly surprised to find Threadbare cider on tap as well so I had one of those. Everything was very good. The bartender, Max, was personable and very knowledgable. We tasted a couple other things before we left and bought a bottle to go. There were not many other customers at the time - it was a Monday, a holiday, and it snowed the night before and it was freezing outside. The atmosphere was easygoing and bright. We had an enjoyable time and would recommend stopping here when in the area.
Great tour and amazing Whiskey. Braxton was excellent. Thank you Braxton! Highly recommend!
Located in the Strip District, Wigle Whiskey has a bar and restaurant and then offers an amazing tour and tasting experience every Saturday. They take you through their process, from using locally sourced grain to crafting award-winning rye, bourbon, gin, rum, and more. One of the highlights? Learning about Pittsburgh’s Whiskey Rebellion—a wild and pivotal moment in U.S. history. The storytelling makes the experience even more immersive! The tour includes a spirit tasting, and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Wigle’s craft. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or just looking for something unique to do, this tour is 10/10!
Exceptional whiskey, bourbon, ryes, and gins. Huge selection to take home. The bartenders are friendly and very knowledgeable about their brand…. And they do cider, beer, and mead. The drink shown is the Something Sour 75 with threadbare mixed berry mead. Offfff the charts awesome.
Loved the Whiskey Tour! Highly recommend! Located right next to a parking garage so perfect for out-of-towners like myself. The Tour is just about 1.5 hours long, starts with a cocktail then you get samples during the tour and a sit-down sampling experience at the end with 4 additional whiskey samples. The tour does not require a lot of walking and is great for any level of whiskey lovers - I personally don't drink much liquor but knew my husband would enjoy the experience. Our tour guide was really engaging and knowledgeable. My husband and I loved the tour guides humor and really enjoyed learning about the process of whiskey making as well as the history of the Whiskey Rebellion. Wigle Whiskey has a great selection of flavors. I was pleasantly surprised to find two that I enjoyed - Apple was my favorite!
Had a fun little visit here during their Sunday Happy Hour. It is an aesthetically pleasing little building, and seems well maintained and cared for. My wife and I grabbed a flight each and found a number of enjoyable choices. We also shared the pierogi and sausage plate, which was quite enjoyable. Would definitely enjoy visiting this place again for a full meal experience.
We love it here. Sampling is fun and food is great.
We absolutely LOVED stopping here while visiting Pittsburgh! The spirit flights were extremely reasonable, and they had a myriad of craft cocktails. This was great for me as I primarily like gin and vodka, versus the typical bourbon and rye served at distilleries. It was a beautiful location with great service. Ask for a small sample before getting a full pour!
Great place for food and drinks. Got a few flights and pierogis. Definitely revisiting on a future trip. Strip District definitely offers many places to have a fun time.
We did a 4:30 distillery tour on Saturday night and then had dinner. The tour was full of great history and we had a great tour guide. We got a cocktail in the beginning, some samples during the tour, and a flight of 4 samples at the end. After the tour we were quickly seated for dinner. The food was delicious too! We will come back when family is in town!
Really enjoyed the cocktails and food prepared in house. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on an things Wigle. We also really enjoyed the spirits distilled on site and thought the pricing was very reasonable comparable to other products.
A bright spot with some good small places and food, along with good drinks. Whiskey or beer. Also they did have some holiday events in another room that was pretty nice for Pittsburgh.
I love Wigle products and finally made the pilgrimage here. They had far more varieties so spirits than I imagined! The interior design was creative and fun. It's a bit of a small space though, but a good-natured, refined crowd so it was fine. The cocktails we tried were all phenomenal, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I didn't do the tour but certainly will next time! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Strip.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Did two flights. One of thr foundation and the other the featured. We were given water and a glass with ice and water with a dropper and tongs. Bailey gave a great history of each drink before pouring it into a glass. It was nice to have information and notes before tasting it. Have never been to a better place to taste and enjoy whiskey. Very nice staff all around. Great lighting and decor. Ordered the Reuben and it was spot on. A great amount of meat and dressing. The fries were cooked to perfection. I can't say enough good things about Bailey. He explained other beverages he made at the bar and was very professional and entertaining.
I've done several distillery tours before and the one I experienced at Wiggle was top notch. The tour guide knew his stuff and kept the vibe light, and I was very impressed by the tastings and coupon given for any full purchases. Overall, the whiskey was good, tour fun, and facilities super nice.
I really love this place! I didn’t know they had a brick and mortar store until I was in the area to go somewhere else. I’ve had some of their liquors before so I really wanted to stop by and try some of their other drinks. I got the liquor flight which includes apple, limoncello, rhubarb, and coffee. It came on a cute try that was labeled with the flavors and profile of the flavor. They also give you a water dropper with some ice and an ice tong to add to your drinks. They tasted so good! It was a great pairing and opportunity to get to try all that they offer. Really enjoyed the look and feel of the bar and also the friendliness of the staff. 10:10 would recommend.
Tried the distillery tour here for a date night and was absolutely worth the experience and worth every penny. You get a cocktail (pick 1 from 4), as you walk in. The guide will then walk you through the distilling area, explain the history of Wigle Whiskey and also provide 3 samples. At the end of the tour, you are seated at a table and everyone gets a whiskey flight to sample 4 different whiskeys. The tour lasted a little over an hour, learned a lot. You can also try all the different liquors they have available at the bar in the tour area. The coffee liquor was my favorite! Will definitely visit again to try their food menu. Tips: 1. Register online for the tour beforehand 2. Have a meal a while before or eat at their restaurant before doing the tour 3. Definitely buy the coffee liqueur. You get a 15% discount coupon to use the sane day 😄
My husband and I came in for cocktails after dinner and we were extremely impressed! The building is beautiful…inside and outside! The bartenders were knowledgeable and very helpful with suggestions. The merchandise and retail section is very nice too. The next time I’m in town I’ll plan a distillery tour here!
Amazing cocktails and super friendly services! We asked for recommendations and truly enjoyed the golden arrow and painter’s delights. We also shared the flavored whiskey flight and got a bottle of honey whiskey. We love cocktails and have been to some of the best bars in the world - and the cocktails here were on par with drinks you will find at some of the speakeasies in Manhattan. Don’t forget to check out the mini “museum” on the way to the restroom.
We came here on the wrong day for a tour. But the staff was sooooo understanding and accommodating. The history lesson the patience and over experience was incredible. I highly reccommend visiting here. This was also my first taste testing experience me and my guy were highly impressed. And the drinks of course were amazing.
Great spot for brunch on weekends! Really cool space with an Insta worthy aesthetic. Bright and airy space with delicious craft cocktails, yummy food and of course plenty of Wigle swag to buy and bring home. Staff is very friendly and they have a good knowledge of the differing whiskey, bourbon and rye options, so they can suggest drinks and provide samples too. Brunch menu highlight was the delightful Tres Leches Cake. It was so good. I'm craving it while typing. I will go back just for that cake alone. Highly recommend Wigle.
We had an enthusiastic and entertaining tour guide, a free cocktail as part of the tour, plus a tasting at the end of the tour. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon. We were there about 2 hours total. They have a small parking lot that was full but pay lots were nearby with lots of space.
Came in for a quick bite (great food!), stayed for the vibes, friendly and helpful staff, and you could stare at their walls of whiskey and whiskey flavors forever... Recommend! Tours of distillery also available
I had a great visit. Friendly staff, good whiskey, and amazing apps. Good vibes, recommend!
Everything is great from the liquor and food to the staff and atmosphere! I’ve visited several times and always have a great time. It’s hard to pick a favorite spirit they are all so tasty for each style
This is a great place to learn about whiskey, taste various distilled beverages, enjoy a cocktail, and buy your favorite bottles. Wigle offers timed tours. Reservations are a good idea. While the place is a bit hard to spot, you'll love it once you find it. They have some limited off-street parking. When you enter, you'll be greeted by friendly staff. Our tour was $20 per person (a bargain) which included a cocktail, unlimited tastings, and a one-hour tour led by a passionate, knowledgeable, entertaining guide. Wigle products include wheat whiskey, rye, bourbon, gin, absinthe, and a variety of bitters and flavored whiskies. After the tour, you can hangout in the bar and shop the shelves for bottles to take home. If you like distilled spirits, this place is for you. As a bonus, you'll learn about the restoration of the Western Pennsylvania distilling heritage.
What a delight of a place. Incredible whiskeys - do yourself a favor and really savor the Rye, then pick your favorite cocktail for Brad to make; I’ve worked at a lot of bars and had a lot of drinks, and he makes some of the best, balanced, flavorful cocktails I’ve ever had. It’s easy to get lost in the history and the converted warehouse aesthetic as you talk spirits and sip on perfection. If you love local, this is the spot. Don’t let it be on your “next time” list when it should be on your “right now” one.
I loved it! The bourbon, especially the rye was great. I tried the founder's flight, and my bro tried the reserve flight. Both were excellent. I hung out chatting with the bartender, getting pointers on improving my cocktails at home, and I had the opportunity to chat with one of the distillers, who was happy to talk all things whiskey and distillation. Totally a fun experience.
What a cool spot. I'm fortunate that my wife loves whiskey and bourbon as much as I do. So during our latest weekend getaway in Pittsburgh, we booked a tour of the Wigle Distillery. Super nice people and an even better setup. We didn't eat but the restaurant was full of patrons enjoying food and whiskey flights. The tour was great; you really get up close to seeing all of the equipment used on site to distil the numerous whiskeys they make. Be prepared to "sip" a lot of the offerings, they're very generous. Definitely a must do when staying in Pittsburgh.
Excellent presentation by Braxton! Learned a ton of American history!
Amazing! Excellent service, cocktails and whiskey flights - special shout-out to the Rosé Apothecary & Slow Rush cocktails. We also had hush puppies and crispy cheese curds - 10/10!
LOVED IT!! Came for the tour and it was AMAZING!! So interesting and cool!! Stayed for drinks and appetizers!!! Cocktails were DELICIOUS!!!!! Excited to come back again!!!!
First time there. Clean, friendly and well appointed environment. Tried the bourbon manhattan Great taste and easy to ingest. Took a bottle of the premade bourbon manhattan home and enjoyed it on at Christmas and New Years. Wish I bought more. Looking forward to my return visit. Definitely a home run!!!
What a great afternoon. The bartender Eric made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. Only one drinker in our crew but Eric was happy to serve up some yummy alcohol drinks which were great. Our tour guide Gail was so enthusiastic and fun. But most importantly, she was an expert in the distillation process, but the history of the region and the Nation. The tour was so interesting. After a lovely tasting, we headed to the restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely lunch. A warm, friendly and interesting stop. We will be back to the restaurant and who knows, if Gail is there, I might take another tour. Tops !’nn
Braxton was truly amazing tour guide full of knowledge. His passion on the history behind how whiskey is made was astonishing. This was my first tour, let's just say this will not be my last. This is a tour that I truly believe everyone should put on their bucket list. 10/10 recommend!!! You not be disappointed!! if you like good drinks and good vibes. Book Now, You will not regret it!!!☺️
Braxton was our tour guide and he was phenomenal! He's fun and charismatic and we learned so much about the history and process! Would highly recommend taking a tour. Plus, the whiskey was yummy!
you’re lucky enough to get Braxton as your tour guide at Wigle Whiskey, prepare for an unforgettable time. He’s the perfect mix of teacher, comedian, and bartender all in one. We learned a ton about whiskey-making, but honestly, we were laughing just as much as we were learning. Every stop on the tour came with great stories, good energy, and some very generous pours — Braxton is definitely not a light hand! It felt more like hanging out with a hilarious friend who happens to know everything about whiskey. 10/10 would take the tour again just for him!
Visiting this distillery was an amazing experience. The whiskey is excellent, the food is delicious and Bret's storytelling of the history of whiskey in the US was so enjoyable. Thanks Greg and Bret (hope I spelled your name correctly)! If you're looking for a place to visit for a Pittsburgh highlight, put this on your list.
Great spot for cocktails! Their cookie cocktail menu is my wife's favorite selection of all time, especially recommend the lemon drop and snickerdoodle. They have a phenomenal amount of house distilled spirits to please anyone with very well curated reasonably priced flights. I highly recommend the Maderia cask bourbon and their pickle cocktail is a must have if you are into that sort of thing (you should be). Thir fried cheese curds with house made BBQ sauce is second to none, and their happy hour deals are worth it 100%
I came here with my brother just before the new year. we had a great time and I even bought a whiskey bottle to give to my good friend in Jakarta Indonesia for his birthday as he is a whiskey lover. There is one issue: The whiskey bottle bill was included in the my total bill with a 20% service charge included. Am I wrong to think that the 20% charge shouldn’t be included for the bottle of whiskey I bought? I was tipsy enough I didn’t have the energy to complain or argue. For context, I didn’t get any advice or recs whatsoever on the bottle I bought. Unfortunately, that last moment just left the whole experience unpleasant. However just a day after, the COO contacted me and responded to this issue and solved it. I really really appreciate the fast response and the focus he gives to customer, making sure that all customers are treated well. I highly recommend this place with such a great experience and customer relations. Next time i am in Pittsburgh, I would come back for a whisky tour! Thank you Alex for your great service.
I have never had a bad experience here. Nice and quaint with chill vibes and of course great drinks. I will say Wigle Whiskey items/bottles are always good gifts; plus supporting local business in Pittsburgh is awesome.
Nice place. Easily accessible. Friendly staff. Beautiful graphic design on the whiskey bottles for sale. However, regarding the actual whiskey and bourbon, it’s very “young” tasting and needs to age longer. Leans more towards the taste of alcohol as opposed to influence from the barrels. I tried eight of the products. The tour tries very hard to indirectly associate itself with Wigle from the 1700s… When this is completely not the case at all. The place only opened a decade ago and has no historical significance. The whiskey itself is priced a bit high for the quality. Also, for a *whiskey* tasting tour, it’s a bit disappointing that of the * four * samples you have at the end of the tour… one Is a shot of rum and one is a shot of gin!!!
The bartenders were more interested in tasting new drinks for the menu than helping us. Respect for trying to make a good cocktail but you can’t ignore people because of that. We were also told you cannot order a drink and stand to drink it. We were told you have to sit at the bar and you cannot stand at the bar and consume a beverage. It may be a requirement for a distillery so no disrespect if that is the case but it was very odd. As my friend said, I’ve never in my life been to a bar where you could not stand and consume a beverage, and I have been to a lot of bars. We also were told we could not go sit on the patio with the drinks we ordered at the bar because to sit outside you had to order outside. Again, understandable if it’s a requirement but we have never heard that before. Suggestion would be to state we are required by law, if that’s the reason, rather than just saying we could not. Spent a lot of money because Coop De Ville was crazy but would rather go there than here. 10x busier at Coop De Ville (we went there after the poor experience here) but got our drinks 10X faster.
