Food was amazing. Every dish I ordered had its unique flavor. Tried goat biriyani, murgh suveedar, pyazz mirchroty and murgh angarbegie. My server was Alex and he’s so pleasant and helpful. He recommended these dishes for me when I asked his help. Tried few bites of everything since I wanted try at least 2 different desserts. Amen was the other server who helped me to pick desserts. He’s great and explained me about some other dishes that I should try next. Definitely coming back. Please keep the good quality. If you haven’t tried this place , you should. This is a totally different experience. God bless you all
SO GOOD! great food and atmosphere, i’m convinced anything you ordered here would taste incredible. Aman was our server and he was so kind and helpful and even helped us find something new on the menu to try! wish i could give 10 stars. the restaurant has a really cool down to earth vibe!
The food was delicious, if anybody is homesick js come to this place! Not too grand and fancy but at the same time not to simple! Perfect for hangouts and quick dinners with friends! The service was so kind and amazing! I definitely recommend trying this place
Had a great experience at The Yellow Chilli, Plano, TX. They were clearly short-staffed the day we visited, but despite that, the team really took good care of us. Service never felt ignored, and we appreciated the effort. A special shoutout to Aman, who was attentive, polite, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The food was absolutely amazing the butter chicken was rich and flavorful, the lamb chops were perfectly cooked and tender, and the Champaran goat was outstanding with authentic, bold spices. Every dish was well presented and full of taste. They made my mom's b'day memorable. Definitely coming back again!
Our server Anthony was great here. The ambiance of restaurant is good. We tried the nalli rogan josh, kababs, daal and onion chilly naan. Everything tasted perfect, kebabs were juicy and mutton was thoroughly cooked. Loved our vist
I had such a wonderful experience dining at The Yellow Chili! From the moment we walked in, the beautiful décor immediately stood out. The ambiance was warm, stylish, with an upscale and inviting feeling! The service was just as impressive. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. And the food — absolutely outstanding. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and the preparation. We also had the pleasure to meet Poonam who is the chef and owner.
The food of this place has been exceptional off late. This place actually fills a void between the all so common Indian places( low bar ) in terms of experience and the very high end (expensive) restaurants. The service by Amy was awesome, she was extremely welcoming and friendly. The food came in no time and everything tasted brilliant. My wife and I were so full and satisfied at the end of it.
Aman was amazing! He was attentive and informative, and the food was incredible. Perfect for someone who is a little wimpy when it comes to spice. But the flavors were incredible, and the service was speedy! Please get the Kesari Kulfi with Rabdi for desert. It’s a buttery saffron ice cream. So delicious. Will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved the flavors here! Definitely try nawabi paneer sangam, amritsari machhi and shahi tukda! Way too good. My friends loved meen moileec thats the fish with coconut curry! Definitely give it a try! Very few restaurants in DFW that serve food with normal spices but heavy on flavors!
My babe and I truly enjoyed the food, service AND ambiance! We came for lunch and had the butter chicken and curry goat with naan. Everything was very flavorful and sooo good! Our server Alex was very attentive and helpful with the menu. We will absolutely return and bring some friends. 10/10 recommend!
From the food to the ambience to the drinks, everything was amazing. My way to wish phenomenal. He made some phenomenal drinks and have plenty of suggestions for us. Definitely get the butter, chicken and the lamb chops with the garlic naan and the corn ribs. Those are my favorite favorites.
If you’re looking for truly authentic, flavorful, and boldly spicy Indian cuisine, The Yellow Chili is easily one of the best restaurants you can visit. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth of the atmosphere — the aromas of freshly ground spices, slow-cooked curries, and tandoor dishes immediately set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. One of the biggest highlights of my visit was the service, especially from Amy, our server. She was absolutely fantastic — attentive without being intrusive, genuinely welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She guided us through the dishes with confidence, offering spot-on recommendations based on what we liked. Her friendliness and professionalism made the entire experience even better. The food at The Yellow Chili is where this restaurant truly shines. Every dish tastes authentically Indian — rich, layered, and prepared with real skill. If you love spicy food, this place delivers the heat the right way: not just spice for the sake of spice, but deep, complex flavors that build with every bite. The curries were perfectly balanced, the tandoori items came out juicy with that signature smoky flavor, and the biryani was aromatic, vibrant, and cooked to perfection. You can tell the chefs here take pride in what they do. The portions are generous, the presentation is beautiful, and the quality is consistently top-tier. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, there’s something on the menu that will absolutely impress you. Overall, The Yellow Chili is truly a great Indian restaurant, offering authentic dishes packed with flavor, real spice, and outstanding service. With Amy taking care of us and the kitchen delivering exceptional food, this was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.
Yellow Chilli near Dallas is such a delightful place—the food is incredibly yummy, the atmosphere feels warm and vibrant, and the whole experience just makes you want to come back. Their desserts were the highlight for me, especially the soft, melt-in-your-mouth gulab jamun and the refreshing, flavorful faluda. A fantastic spot for anyone craving great food with a lovely vibe.
Must-Try Restaurant with Delicious Food This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The food was flavorful, fresh, and overall a great experience. Here’s what we tried: • Drink: Peru Pyala – refreshing • Appetizer: Harippa Paneer Tikka – tasty and well-cooked • Main Course: • Sham Savera – not our favorite • Paneer Pasanda – absolutely delicious, with paneer that tasted homemade • Rice: Paneer Tawa Pulav – the Paneer Tawa Pulav was outstanding and a must-try! The prices are a bit higher compared to other Indian restaurants, but the quality and taste make it totally worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Indian food.
Visited The Yellow Chilli and had such a good experience! The Aam Panna was so refreshing, the Chatpatta Seekh Kabab was perfectly spiced, and both the Nalli Rogan Josh and Patiala Chicken were full of rich, delicious flavors. Great food, nice ambiance, and friendly service—definitely worth a visit!
The Yellow Chilli, curated by the legendary Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, the chef we’ve all grown up watching, is a must-visit for every food lover. It offers an exceptional dining experience with something for everyone: vegetarian, non-vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and even Jain options all under one roof. The staff is warm, respectful and attentive and just being there gives you a special feeling. The food quality is unmatched! My family and I tried the Harippa Paneer Tikka, Lehsuni Hara Murgh and Ganga Jamuna mocktail, each one was bursting with flavor and came in generous portions. If you’ve admired Chef Sanjeev Kapoor over the years, trying his restaurant is a must!

The food was really yummy, though the service was a little slow. But we went at opening time, so maybe that's why. The ambiance was amazing!! Loved the decor

Food is extremely delicious. The appetizers are top notch. The servers are very polite.
My first time having Tandoori Salmon and I'm hooked. What a great combination. Available as a meal or appetizer. More upscale than most Indian restaurants I've tried. Great place.
Delicious well-prepared food, courteous and helpful waitress. Varied menu with many options for spicy, non-spicy, vegan, non-garlic, non-onion.

We recently visited The Yellow Chili in Plano for the first time, and overall, we had a really good experience — especially when it came to the food. Everything we ordered was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. I can see why so many people recommend this place, and I’d absolutely go back again for the dishes alone. The restaurant itself is a bit smaller inside than I expected from the outside, but once we were seated, I was impressed by how elegant and welcoming it looked. The décor is stylish yet comfortable, and the lighting and atmosphere make it feel warm and inviting. It’s definitely one of those places that feels perfect for both a casual dinner and a special night out. Now, onto the food — we ordered two main dishes: the Butter Chicken and another one that had a coconut-based sauce (I wish I could remember the name!). Both were delicious, rich, and full of complex flavors. The butter chicken was creamy and perfectly spiced without being overpowering, and the coconut dish had this subtle sweetness that balanced everything beautifully. The portion sizes were generous too, which was a nice surprise. Where the experience fell short, unfortunately, was the service. We mentioned to our waitress that it was our first time visiting and that we weren’t too familiar with Indian cuisine, hoping she might offer a few recommendations or explain some of the options. Instead, she just looked at us as if we were joking and didn’t offer any suggestions at all. It was a little awkward, and it made us feel like we were bothering her just by asking. Because of that, we ended up just ordering a couple of main dishes instead of exploring appetizers or other menu items — which was disappointing, since we genuinely wanted to learn more about the cuisine. I think a little friendliness or guidance would have gone a long way in making the experience more welcoming. Despite that, I can’t say enough good things about the food itself. Every bite was delicious, and it’s clear that the kitchen knows what they’re doing. If the service had matched the quality of the food and the atmosphere, this would have been an easy five-star review. Overall, I’d still recommend The Yellow Chili to anyone who loves flavorful, authentic Indian food. Just be prepared that the service might not be as warm or attentive as you’d hope — but the food is definitely worth the visit.
We visited Yellow Chili to celebrate a special day. We didn’t have reservations, so we arrived a bit early around 6:50 PM. The restaurant wasn’t too busy at that time, and the staff was able to seat us right away. The food was excellent—especially the Lamb Chops starter, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We ordered a mix of mocktails, cocktails, as well as both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The mocktails were refreshing and really well made. However, the cocktails (we tried bourbon and Buffalo Trace options) were just okay, and I wouldn’t personally recommend them. Overall, we had a great dining experience and enjoyed our evening. One area the restaurant could improve on is general upkeep—the floors and parts of the interior could use regular maintenance, as they didn’t seem to be in the best shape. Still, the food and service made it a nice place to celebrate.
The non-veg starters were really good and enjoyable, but the curries felt a bit on the sweeter side and didn’t quite match my palate, as I usually prefer more spicy flavors. On the other hand, the vegetarian options were quite impressive and had better balance. Overall, a good place for appetizers and vegetarian dishes, but if you’re someone who craves bold, spicy curries, this may not fully hit the mark. The highlight for me was the desserts – they were extremely good and definitely worth trying. Overall, a nice spot for starters, vegetarian dishes, and especially desserts, though spice lovers might find the curries a bit mild.

I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors. The food does not reflect true Indian taste and, in my opinion, does not live up to the standards associated with Sanjeev Kapoor’s name. The paneer appetizers were completely flavorless, and while the chicken curry was slightly better, it still wasn’t impressive. Overall, the experience was disappointing and definitely not worth the price.
Food was fresh and delicious! The waiters and waitresses were nice and helpful, but we were told the only way we could get onions and limes on the side was if we order the salad? Very odd when we ordered a lot of food and would have been nice to have with it …
I visited this place again after 3.5 years to celebrate a special occasion based on previous good experience. Don’t know if the chef has changed in the recent times but the food ordered is flavorless and it doesn’t deserve to call itself as a Sanjeev Kapoor restaurant. Don’t know if this is a fine dine but the atmosphere is nothing special. No salt or pepper in the chicken mushroom soup. No flavor is Paneer Sangam. The Chettinad chicken was horrible. 5 shrimp in the Batti Jenga dish and they were okay and nothing great. Only the Peru Pyasa was good. The staff did not even bother to ask how was the food. I will not recommend The Yellow Chilli to anyone and don’t waste their time.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures—the camera did a good job. Not sure where to begin. I’ve never been to a restaurant where you don’t even know who your server is until it’s time to pay the bill. The service was absolutely terrible. As for the ambiance, there’s really nothing worth mentioning except for one nice wall painting of a woman. The food was overloaded with masala and lacked anything memorable—biryani was so bad- though the dessert was surprisingly good.

Had the worst experience and worst food at this restaurant. Ordered some appetisers, biryani and thaali. Appetisers were ok not that great. Then came the biryanis. No salt. No taste. Nothing but just rice and chicken. Told the server about it. He checked and said he’ll not be charging for 1 out of 2 tasteless biryani. Asked for onions on the side but the server said we need to order an onion salad for charge. We ordered only to get cucumbers with fungus and onions that aren’t even freshly cut. When I showed it to the server, he said “I need to go check in the kitchen”.. he went and came back scraping the fungus part of the cucumber and says it’s just the head of cucumber. Ridiculous. It’s clearly fungus and this what they serve their customers. Didn’t even apologise for the situation. One of the worst restaurant ever! Never ever going back and ruining my special days.
