An excellent experience. The food is extraordinary, service is attentive and the atmosphere is cozy. Bit more expensive, but the food, staff and overall experience makes it worth it. Went with the 9 course tasting with wine pairing. This was one of the best food experiences I have ever had . The owner is very knowledgeable and great at sharing information on the food and wine. I highly suggest this place for a date night or any special occasion.
A charming little French restaurant with excellent service and thoughtful wine pairing recommendations. The escargot was rich and flavorful, cooked with mushrooms. The lamb was perfectly prepared, and the wild-caught cod had a delicate coconut flavor. Prices are very reasonable. What a wonderful dining experience!
Im a big fan of French cuisine so I was over the moon when my husband surprised me with a date night here. It’s a cute & cozy spot that you almost miss - perfect for a date night. Our server, who I suspect is also the owner, was so friendly and kind! He gave great recommendations and was just fun to talk to. The drinks and food did not disappoint. Highly recommend getting the bon bons as a starter, followed with the pork, and then end with the chocolate dessert. The steak plate and wine selection were also perfect. I definitely hope to come again and try more of their food.
This place has a chic and cozy atmosphere, perfect for celebrating special occasions. We celebrated my husband's birthday here. We chose the Decouverte Pour Deux - Tasting for Two ($154) course, and I had the Peach Bellini cocktail ($15)🍸while my husband enjoyed the Prefixe Wine pairing ($42)🍷. Everything, from the appearance to the taste, was wonderful. The prices were affordable for French cuisine, offering excellent value for the quality provided. We enjoyed the food and ambiance with all our senses and had a truly memorable and delightful time, losing track of time in the process.🥰
Superb food. Amazing wine (esp champagne) selection. Why did I not know about this place before?
Absolute gem. John is a delightful host to spend your evening with. The food, wonderful. We tried the Découverte pour deux, and couldn’t recommend it more. It’s rare to have such a pleasant, un rushed evening in the states to enjoy your company over great food, wine and ambiance; and that’s exactly what we experienced at c’est si bon with John. Plenty of nice wines to choose from, highly recommend simply asking for a recommendation to pair with your chosen meal. Don’t sleep on the crepe for dessert, as authentic as I have had outside of France - in fact it felt like we were back :) Highly recommend, and we will certainly return.
6/5. Fabulous, mate! The moment I walk in I know I was in the right place. The kitchen and the dining area is not separate so you can actually smells the food and it’s really good. Atmosphere is absolutely perfect, what a nice little place you can enjoy with your best friend, family, or a nice date place. Take your date here absolutely will be a good options. For drinks, we have couple wines and drinks it’s actually pretty good, sadly it’s not tons of options on the menu for the drinks. Menus it’s actually not big but definitely have something good on there. The dishes we have it’s really good, nice flavor, and right amount. The most surprised part is the dessert! Holy moly. The crepes are actually made by the owner in the bar you can actually see it and smells it and it turns out totally different than I expected. I thought it would be really sweet or so but actually it’s not. Nice layer with the lemon sauce inside, however it’s not sour, really great! And the clafoute are obviously great! It’s not sweet and have some of the milky taste but not heavy at all! Come on friends. Come to this place!
If you are looking for a intimate, romantic, and cozy restaurant with delicious food, choose here and you won’t be disappointed. Me and my husband came here to celebrate his birthday. When we walked in, we immediately felt welcomed. The decoration, table setting, and the background music are very thoughtful, we feel as if we walk into a totally different space. As for the food, we ordered two appetizers: the squash bisque and the snail; they were both great but my favorite was the bisque, it’s just so well balanced ☺️ For the main course, we ordered the steak, sablefish, and the mussels. My husband love the steak, I enjoyed the fish, and the mussels are amazing too! I would say all the dishes are very clean and well seasoned. We also ordered the crepe as desert, it definitely completed the meal well! Thank you for giving us a great night with amazing food🥰
Dining at C'est Si Bon! was an absolute pleasure. John (the proprietor and owner) and his sommelier Nels were the best. The food was exceptional, we chose the tasting menu which showcased the best and most popular dishes on the menu allowing us a to sample a vast array of different foods. The dining service was impeccable. John and Nels made it feel much like dining with old friends instead of the usual restaurant experience. We were there early in the evening, and it wasn't too busy but I suspect this personalized service extends to dozen or so tables that surround the well kept bar. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails followed by some impeccably curated wines from France. It was certainly a night to remember, and one that that we'd recommend to anyone wanting a fine dining experience. We'll be back! Thanks John and Nels and the folks in the back who cooked up our lovely bites and tastes.
This is a great place for a romantic night solo, or with your partner. The minute we stepped in, the owner took our coats for us and gave us options for where to sit. He took special time to talk about the items on the menu which left us salivating to start our feast. We came for date night and pretty much bought half the menu everything sounded so good. The amazing thing is there is only one chef but he times the food out so well it was like a really high end restaurant you’d experience in Los Angeles, but without the pretentiousness. Jon, the owner and our waiter also offered my hubby wine tastings so that he could decide properly on the wine of his choice that night and everything that came out made us have an “O” face. The service was impeccable and we felt so special. I’m pregnant and Jon also made me a special mocktail. We were so impressed that we bought a gift certificate for our in laws for Xmas and he said that he would treat them just as special when they come in. This is definitely a place to treat yourself!!!
This is a chill and tiny French Cuisine bistro, excellent chef and best host, with quite a list of wine selections. Menu is not big, but all is fantastic, absolutely delicious, worthy to eat a full round and pairing with the host’s selection of wines. We had a wonderful dinner and would definitely go again.
Incredible food, ambiance and service. Easily a top restaurant in Portland. The duck was succulent and perfect. The mussels and chorizo dish superb and flavorful. From wine selection, appetizers, mains and dessert with coffee, everything was on point. We were served by the charismatic and charming owner, making it even more special and memorable. We'll definitely be back!!
This intimate spot is my favorite place for any date night. Wish I have more pics, but we were just in the present moment. To top it off, it’s like a 3 minute walk from home for us. Food is made to perfection and wine selections are all great. The owner is so helpful and treats everyone like a client and we love that! Although the space is intimate, we didn’t feel uncomfortable. Such a sweet little spot that we will always return.
Beautiful experience. In layman's terms: 3 wines, fresh and bright salad, local fresh catch with complimentary flavor encoutrements, chocolate mouse. Just lovely.
I've known this place for a while, but haven't visited till today. Big regrets. The only downside for many would be the portion of dishes. Not necessarily very generous, but just OK. Other than that, everything was far beyond my expectations. Appetizer- Prawn something 4/5, tomato bisque 4/5. Entree- mussels 5/5,sablefish 5/5 Dessert- crepe 6/5, my wife is a big crepe fan and literally tries every creperie in sight. Her best crepe so far has been from the French restaurant in the Epcot in WDW, FL 15 years ago. Now we have a new winner. Will definitely revisit to try other entrees and more crepes.
Such a wonderful, intimate restaurant. I don't know why I don't see it written up in more places! The wine selection is always stellar and the food is rich. The restaurant owner is really passionate about all their offerings, he is extremely helpful with pairings and understanding the menu. This is a birthday spot for us every year, we look forward to coming back!
Wow is my first thought. My husband surprised me with a dinner here. At first glance, I thought it was very stylish and quaint. It is a small little place but the food here is BIG (in terms of flavor). I loved everything that was put in front of me and the wine selection was hand-selected by the owner himself who also served us our food. We had the Cheese Bonbon's and Foie Gras to start. They melted in your mouth good! The beet salad was unique and had tons of flavor. The octopus was delicious! I couldn't get enough of this place. I can't wait to go back and try all the other things on the menu! This is a gem of a find in PDX.
Outstanding service, food and personal touch from the owner. First of all, I was a single diner but I still felt very welcomed. I also noticed that many of the customers are repeat and warmly greeted by the staff and owner. It was tough to choose what to order since everything was very appealing. For the appetizer I got the really nice roasted cauliflower, a wonderful treat with several harmonious flavors. That was followed by wonderful scallops. I suggest that you ask the owner to recommend wine even if you think you know a lot about wine. Just tell him what you like and he will provide a great selection.
First time here; my wife and I had the 9 course tasting menu with wine paring. Everything, wines and food, was exceptional. The proprietor of this intimate fine bistro gives personal care and attention to each customer. The quality and service justify the check. It’s perfect for a special, intimate evening or a special dinner with another couple.
Fantastic! I want to give myself 5 stars for finding this place :-) Food is top notch, wine selection and recommendations are top notch, the passion that goes into service is top notch, … We had a memorable dining experience here. Thank you!
I can't believe I am just now discovering this place. We had a wonderful meal of foie gras appetizer and famous cheese puff pastry appetizer and the pork in wine sauce special. Prices were reasonable . I will be back!
Romantic, intimate, flavorful and decadent. My partner and I had date night with C’es Si Bon last night and we will definitely be coming back. Great wine recommendations and the food is excellent. Even better than Le Pigeon in our option.
We had another wonderful meal and evening at C’est Si Bon. Delicious food and wines. Convivial atmosphere. John is always a wonderful host. A gem in Portland.
PDX Foodies…Do yourself a huge favor and add this to your list. Bar none the best dining experience we have had in PDX. The food and wine/bubbles selection is absolutely amazing! The food-porn photos I have included speak for themselves. John thank you for making us feel so at home. We will always return.
A wonderful dinner. The almond crusted rock fish was incredible. The sauce was perfect. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. My photos don't do it justice.
Truly one of the best places to eat in all of Portland!! After a long awaited re-opening my wife and I took a date night without our son. The food was simply divine and the service was impeccable. Jon (the owner) is a not only a great host, but his keen eye for perfection is seen in all that C'est Si Bon has to offer. Thanks for another wonderful meal. Great to have this you back, we will be back!!
The food and drinks are incredible ! Don’t miss a chance to stop by this place and get an experience that you probably can get only in France.
If any restaurant is deserving of a Michelin star it’s C’est Si Bon! We’ve only been here twice but have always left beyond satisfied. Our second time there we did the pre-fix menu with the wine pairing and while it’s a bit pricey it’s more than fair and such an incredible experience. Every course is delicious. It’s a small seating area and so intimate, combined with the owner being very involved and knowledgeable… could not imagine a better experience and I cannot recommend this place enough.
delicious! the food was exquisite, and excellent atmosphere- just what I was looking for. the owner was very kind and the server, marshall, provided warm and exceptional service! wonderful experience, I’ll definitely be returning
I will give a 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food is amaizing and they have my favorite desserts. Super romantic and cozy.
We wanted to find a cute little spot to celebrate our engagement and found this amazing restaurant! Right when we walked through the door we immediately felt at home. The atmosphere was very cozy and romantic and the staff were more than happy to clear a space for us. We let the staff who sat us know that we were celebrating our engagement and they had the owner, John, come over to speak to us. He was so knowledgeable, provided amazing recommendations and wine pairings and made us feel special! The bartender made us fantastic bourbon sours, and the scallops & cheese bonbons were so so good. John made the crepe dessert himself and it was life changingly delicious. We were blown away by our experience here and will definitely be back.
The intimate setting created the ideal atmosphere, and the knowledgeable staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. The wine selection was outstanding, and their recommendations were spot on. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a special evening with great food and exceptional service!
Wonderful bistro with well executed dishes and a fantastic wine program. All the staff were kind and showed a true interest in crafting a wonderful meal for us. Those that are seeking classic French dishes will find a lovely meal. And for those with a desire to explore a wider breadth of wines, you will find a curated and well priced selection with a staff that guides you along the way. Great stuff and I can't wait to return.
My husband and I had dinner last night and we had a delightful time. The waiter & owner took great care of us. They even gave us a taste of free wine to go along with our dinner. We could tell that they wanted us to have an exceptional experience. Merci Beaucoup for such high level hospitality!
The food was well prepared and the wine pairings were fantastic. John did an excellent job navigating the different palettes of our guests and had wine recommendations that were reasonable and excellent. It’s food you don’t see everywhere and exceeded expectations each time. The seating was a bit crowded as it’s a very small place. We found it delightful. If you have an opportunity to speak with John, please do so. It was his excellence that made this restaurant stand out for us.
Heavenly! The best meal and experience in Portland in a very long time. Felt transported to France where everything is slowed down and about the moment. My nervous system approves! Absolutely impressed.
Dining at C’est Si Bon in Portland, Oregon, is an experience that transports you straight to the heart of French culinary tradition. From the moment you step into the charming, intimate setting, you’re greeted with warm service and an inviting atmosphere perfect for a refined evening. The dinner service excels in balancing elegance with comfort, featuring dishes that are both thoughtful and rich in flavor. The menu offers a range of seasonal French classics, each prepared with a modern twist. Standouts include the duck confit, melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, and the bouillabaisse, brimming with fresh seafood in a flavorful broth. However, what truly elevates the dining experience at C’est Si Bon are the expertly curated wine pairings. Each course is thoughtfully matched with wines that complement and enhance the flavors, from delicate whites with seafood to bold reds with heartier dishes. The sommelier’s selections reflect a deep understanding of how to pair French cuisine with both local and international wines. Every detail, from the quality of the food to the perfectly paired wines, creates a memorable dining experience that is refined, relaxing, and utterly delightful. C’est Si Bon is a must-visit for any food and wine enthusiast in Portland.
Absolutely amazing. Place is very quaint - we sat in the corner next the kitchen and got the extra experience of seeing some of the magic happen. Food was amazing, service was just the same. Definitely will be back for sure!!!! Can’t wait!
Had an amazing dinner here with my partner. The tasting menu was fantastic, great wine and cocktail selection, the owner was amazing and friendly, super knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone especially the tasting menu.
Oh my goodness! My birthday and marriage proposal in one, extraordinary night! The food here is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is quaint and cozy! The owner and staff was wonderfully inviting and engaging! Highest recommendation for this restaurant C'est Si Bon! Check it out!
Just top notch dining in Portland. Amazing value, heavy wine pours, incredible, fresh, french food and fantastic service in an intimate setting. The tasting menu is always spectacular. I can't say enough good things about the experience.
Cute, intimate French spot with a cozy vibe and just a few tables. We had the bon bon appetizer, duck, trout, and crème brulée — everything was delicious, though I do wish the duck had been a bit more tender. Overall, really friendly server and great service!
The food was delicious, the service was great, and great atmosphere. It's a very small dinning room so you are definitely going to want to make reservations.
Excellent vibes. Great hospitality, yummy food, comfortable + classy, great cocktails and good wine. Great date night spot!
We ordered foie gras and warm baguette for appetiser. Foie gras was the day’s special and was tasty. Baguette was mediocre. Bouillabaisse classique was tasty. Especially I would like to mention the garlic sauce that came with it. The flavour it gave to the crostini was amazing. Muscovy Duck confit was also tasty. I loved the French 68 wine here and also the Calvi cosmo cocktail. Service is slow but was told to us right at the beginning about it.
Good food, great service and ambiance. Some entrees were underseasoned.
Lovely little place. Very charming. Great wine list. Food was good but not exceptional. Great place for a romantic candlelight dinner with your partner. I enjoyed my time there solo also.
High end restaurant with French menu with a number of fine selections for food, wine and cocktails. Excellent and attentive service.
It’s a cute date spot but it’s overpriced for the portion size and the taste, while good, isn’t in line with the cost. Servers were nice. This dish was $34. Wine is $15-20/glass.
The servers are really nice and the place is cute. But the portion is pretty small for the price and the flavors are just okay compared to other French restaurants nearby. The shrimps were a bit dried and hard and the duck was very small and a little dried. The service was slow. Our entire dinner was almost 3 hrs long.
