It's a smallish place, but a pretty decent brunch spot. They seemed to have an adequate beer menu, and definitely have enough simple, but delicious brunch items. I had the poutine and the french onion soup and would definitely recommend it again.

The outdoor patio was very pleasant and the food was excellent.

Cool atmosphere, great beer options. Their dinner is amazing and I'm told they have the best burger in town.. that's my next try.

Cute little tap house in Portland. Wonderful staff knew our companions by name and welcomed all of us warming even waking in essentially at close. Great stop for a quick nightcap after a night out.

Came here for Mother's Day. ( Made a reservation first!) Cute atmosphere. The food was divine! Started with mussels and olives. Main was a beet salad with steak. Everything was top-notch and affordable. The wait staff was incredible as well.

So this place does happy hour every day of the week. So bonus right there. Came in for a few drinks ended up getting some food. JR the bartender is so personable and friendly we didn’t want to leave. The food so good we had the mussels and they are so huge and delish. Im not a fan of licorice but was not over powering so i enjoyed. Also had the brie and was cooked perfect and we ate all of it. Finished with the calamari was good not great. But atmosphere service and food combo will bring us back not to mention JR

The only thing “little” about this place is its name! We stopped into Portland to visit the art museum and checkout some of the First Friday events. We are happy that the rain sent us searching for a nearby place to have dinner. Only a block away from the Portland Art Museum we found the Little Tap Room. It is a fun space with a lot of local beers on tap, happy hour specials between 4 and 6, food with big flavor, and staff with big smiles. Seriously what’s not to like. The Brussels were delicious. The mussels were served in a flavorful sauce that enhanced rather than over power their flavor, and the hummus was good and include pita bread that was grilled just right! Our only regret? We had a late lunch and we’re not up for trying their entrees. A big “well done!” To the staff and chef at the Little Tap.

Loved the farm fresh ingredients! Lobster is farm fresh here so don’t expect to get a lobster roll year-round. We got steak & Frits and shrimp risotto

JR definitely was an experienced bar tender, for knew his stuff and kept up perfectly on our drinks and our order. The place is definitely well kept up and has great food available! My friend and I had the truffle fries and the truffle mac & cheese. Everything had been warm and delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by if your in the area looking for a smooth brew or nice cocktail! :D

Really pleasant atmosphere, getting off congress st made it feel like packed. A lot of space in the restaurant. Service was friendly and prompt, food was good. Probably not some place where you will find flavors you’ve never had, but very well executed food.

Greeted with a smile. The burger was one of the best I've ever had. All those crispy bits. And paired with arancini?!?! Yes please!! Will be back every time I drive through Portland.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and Bri was an awesome hostess/waitress/woman who does it all! We had a lovely evening and liked every single thing we ordered from the menu. I especially loved that you could order a small flight of local beers. I’d be happy to recommend Little Tap House to anyone :) also the mussels were the biggest I’ve ever seen!

Excellent spot for a quick bite or brunch!! Came in Friday night before the art museum and then Sunday and we were surprised to find brunch. Delicious food!

Little Tap House in Portland Me is one of our favorite Pubs. The offerings include a wide variety of small plates, Pub fare including fantastic burgers, charcuterie, cheese boards, homemade lamb sausage, and a great assortment of interestingly prepared entree's. We are eating our way through the menu. There's also a great assortment of local beers. Little Tap House is a comfortable place to enjoy a leisurely and great service.

Farm to Table style restaurant. The food is very fresh and delicious. The ambience is a little dark and romantic. I loved it all around! The dinner salad alone was fabulous, not to mention the rest of the meal.

Just had a wonderful dinner with great service. Smash burger was excellent and well seasoned, while wife said her Caesar Salad with chicken was great ( would have liked a little more dressing). We did not sample apps or dessert this visit. Good selections of beer. Good fortune to go here after first trying to get a table at B** B ** up the street apparently having 8 empty seats still requires a 20 minute wait....

Steak frites and brussel sprouts were amazing—but I think everything there probably would be. Great atmosphere, great food, great staff. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend!

What a score! Our second visit here and they did not disappoint. I had the most amazing and clever mocktail I’ve ever had - citrus with a chocolate bitter essence. My goodness it’s a winner! Pop in for a quick bite and a lovely cocktail, catch the game with a cold beer. Chat with Tim about what’s happening in town and just enjoy your day.

Great food, great vibes. Everything i’ve tried on the menu has been delicious. The new buffalo wings are great with the drizzle of white barbecue. Nice local spot, definitely recommend for anyone coming to Portland.

This is my go-to spot for a leisurely weekend lunch or light dinner. I always find myself ordering their mussels and a Luppolo or two. This place has a European bistro vibe. Laid-back atmosphere. Simple but high quality ingredients and preparation. I really dig this place. I like sitting outside. The street is not too busy. So eating outside is a more pleasant experience than doing so on Congress Street. I would never eat outside on Congress Street, but I always (weather permitting) eat outside when I come here. Not sure if that makes any sense?

Stopped in on a crazy busy Saturday night. Was sat immediately and our server was fantastic. We enjoyed our time with her at the bar- the food was delicious and served quickly. Best French fries in Portland.

Lovely spot for some drinks and apps before heading to the Cross Insurance Arena. Great drinks, delicious food. Our server was super attentive and had great timing. We enjoyed ourselves so much we came back after the game for a final night cap!

Visiting Portland for the marathon and stopped in for our pre race carb load and it fulfilled our expectations- and our stomachs with yummy food!. Very nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and incredible food… Some of the best steak I’ve had on the east coast! Highly recommend their new cocktail the Momisette if you’re a black licorice lover like myself. :) If I survive the race tomorrow… Little Tap House gets partial credit. ❤️

Best scratch kitchen around. Service was amazing Tim the bartender best guy easy to talk to Lily the server so sweet, polite and attentive ! Pumpkin Spice drink was killer and the smash burger good as always . A hidden gem for sure. In my rotation for a night out with good vibes music food and drinks! I’ll be back

The food was great. Outdoor seating was nice. I only wish there were some lights outside like tea lights or something. I was sitting out there reading and drinking but got difficult after dark. Had the smash burger and fries which were delicious. Drank an old fashioned which was also delicious. The area is quiet and quaint. My waitress, Lilly, was great. She is also a reader so understood about the lights. The flowers and aesthetic of the place is nice and miss a calm, cool place.

I sat at the bar for some drinks and dinner on Sunday. Ended up ordering the lobster risotto, which was excellent and had a perfect amount of lobster in it. They also have a good beer selection, and the bartender was even able to make me a Paper Plane, which was awesome. The pot de crème was also very good.

Phenomenal, blew my expectations away for a small pub. Small menu, everything done well. Thank you for a perfect dinner! The hanger steak was divine.

Atmosphere was unique, you can sit inside or outside. Pretzel sticks were so good. I got the steak frites ordered medium rare more medium well. My husband got fish and chips- crispy outside and juicy inside. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

Cute little spot with great food. We started with scallops/urgent which was delicious. Then moved on to entrees- I got the swordfish. Loved loved the sauce and swordfish was cooked wonderfully. Also got a cucumber drink which was super refreshing and light. Very nice spot to grab dinner.

I was in Portland for a night for a business trip and stayed a few minutes walk away from this place. I decided to try it out. Cozy little bar with table seating. Good local beer on tap and great food. I got the fish and chips, which was fresh, perfectly fried and excellent. My only complaint was that the portion seemed small for the price. It was $27 and came with three smaller pieces of fish. I was still kind of hungry after the meal and for that kind of money, I just wish there was one more piece. Other than that, it is a nice place.

O
Orin Reams

Small selection of items for dinner. Large selection of wine, beer, etc. French fries are below average.

Went on a whim but when we arrived because we didn't have a reservation we were to sit in the community area where they have larger tables for 6-8 people and you sit with other guests which is fine but different. Our table was full and it was loud so hard to talk to my spouse. Menu didn't really appeal to me so we ended up ordering a drink before we decided to leave. My husband ordered a sour beer which ended up giving him a headache and upset stomach.

J
Just Jazzmine

vibes felt a little off upon entering....no one greeted me so I went to the bar to ask to be sat and the bar tender stood there with a stupid look on her face like "what do you expect me to do" server was more polite, and the food was absolutely amazing. the polenta fries made my night. lobster roll with fries was sooo good. I got the cosmo kramer drink, and it was delicious as well. a bit on the expensive side, but I guess that comes with the location. overall, this was an ok spot.

It took a bit after we sat down to just get our water. Beer was ordered at the same time and took about 20 minutes to arrive. Once we ordered we waited an hour plus for it to come out. It was certainly not the fault of the wait staff as they were constantly rushing about trying to serve everyone’s needs. It seemed as though they were a bit low staffed for such a busy evening. After the food arrived the steak came out colder than expected. Our waitress offered to have it remade but instead it was taken off our ticket. The kitchen seemed to be on the slower end of things. The mushroom risotto was delicious as well as the smash burger. The two steaks that we got came out at room temperature. One of them was perfectly seasoned while the other was seasoned poorly. Beyond this, the restaurant was pleasant with a slightly louder environment.

It was good but nothing special. My smash burger was LITERALLY a higher-end Big Mac (same toppings, better quality ingredients.) The oil in the fryer was old and needed to be changed (my parents had a restaurant for 55 yrs so I know what I'm talking about) as the french fries were not good at all as a result. My wife had a steak which was decent, but the fries took away from the overall quality of the dish. She also ordered a Margarita with no salt but got salt anyways. Overall, the entire experience was lacking.

J
Jeb Schwartz

Interesting to see a Locally owned applebees. very pricey for what you get! very much a place for people who smell like milk and quarters. my salmon was kinda… Not good. served lukewarm, pesto was lacking flavor, and the weird chili boy on the side made me uncomfortable. Jos got Fish and Chips - our guess is that it sat in the window for a while before it got to him. fries were luke warm (and that’s generous), not seasoned, and overall ..fry game PATHETIC!!!!!!! we really wanted this place to be a new spot for us to grab dinner during the week but when you walk into a UPSCALE APPLEBEES what can u expect

E
Erin McLaughlin

Really pretentious and strange and service not attentive. Food is mediocre and expensive. I asked if I could have my burger with raw onion instead of cooked (it’s a texture sensitivity) and tomato. They have onions and tomato on the menu. The server said he’d ask the kitchen but basically no and never followed up. It came out without onions and tomato. This is NOT the server’s fault but the restaurant’s fault. I don’t understand why they can’t just slice an onion that they already have (literally easier than cooking it) and give me a slice of tomato they already have ??? Especially for a $20 burger. He said they’re made how they’re made (which makes me think it’s all pre-cooked). Server didn’t ask how I wanted it cooked and it came out super burnt.

We were leaving Maine and decided to stop in because they were dog friendly. When we first entered staff was nice, we were sat outside. Our server was very nice, took our orders. She made an error on the entree the steak frites. Mussels came instead. Thank god I'm not allergic. Then the steak was put in. On the menus is self described as medium rare. Came well done. Its a farm to table expensive restaurant. Service, atmosphere, well cooked food; are needed to charge these prices. No manger came over, no one apologized besides the server. When I brought the plate into the restaurant to get it taken care of. There were a minimum of 4 ppl laughing and not exactly working in the kitchen. Just an honest take on my familys experience.

Nice venue, server was very good, food was awful. Smash Burger, oily tasteless meat on a soggy bun. Deviled eggs, just so so, excessive garlic and too salty. Fish and chips okay. Strange tasting fries with it all. Overall, wouldn't bother going again.

Went here with my wife on a trip around Maine. it was kind of a weird experience. We got smash burger, lobster roll, and fried shishito peppers. The peppers were the only thing that wasn’t either aggressively mid—-as the young people say— or gross. The bad: the lobster roll was bland and tiny and 40 bucks. It was only slightly tastier than the kind you would get at a cheaper touristy place but not 15-20 dollars better. The burger: She asked for raw onion and a slice of tomato on her burger and was informed that it couldn’t be done because it didn’t fit the “menu concept” of the burger. If they didn’t have onions or tomatoes in the kitchen that is one thing, but Jesus Christ saying that you cannot put a tomato on a burger on conceptual grounds is ridiculous. To Little Tap House owners, our waiter, and probably head chef: none of you are Marco Pierre White. You are making smash burgers in Maine. To tell someone they cannot have tomato on their burger because it doesn’t fit the “menu concept” makes you and your server look incredibly provincial in the sense that you think that your culinary innovations in making dishes like hamburgers, humus, and grilled salmon (this is all to point out just how incredibly pedestrian and commonplace your menu offerings actually are) are above addressing customer requests. Also, they charged extra for hot sauce without telling us. Finally, the cherry on top: the bathroom smelled like sewage and the water was fecal matter brown in the toilet even after flushing. Stay away from this place. The one redeeming thing was that the waitress/serving person with the black hair and hat seemed to not buy into the inflated self promotion of this dumb place.

B
Billy

The place was loud and the service was among the worst I’ve experienced anywhere and the place was hardly packed. From the time we walked in, it took 10 minutes to receive menus and then another 15 minutes I went to the host asked him to send the waitress over to take the drink order. After another 10 minutes, she brought the wrong bottle of wine. The manager did comp the corrected bottle. When the dinner arrived, we ordered another round which had not turned up by the time everyone finished eating. I went to the bar and picked up the round myself to which the bartender said, guess you’re not having much luck tonight. Guess we weren’t.

A
Arianna Carmen Rose

I say for about 15-20 minutes. The place was pretty empty. Maybe 3 tables were filled. Not once did anyone say hi to me, bring me a menu, nothing. Oh and it was my birthday. How incredibly disappointing.
