True fine dining - Food and service 10/10: So grateful my partner and I chose Morton’s for my Birthday dinner. Elegant atmosphere, attentive and accommodating service, and the food and drinks were definitely worth the hype. Staff went out of their way to make the meal special -we will be back!
Had a wonderful birthday celebration for our son. Greeted warmly and sat quickly, service started promptly. Drinks came fairly quickly and it was busy. Food was seasoned well and there were no complaints from any guest. Desserts were delightful, though limited. Server, Will, was on spot and if he was stressed, didnt show it at all.
Awesome pre Keller Auditorium dinner, the restaurant is right across the street. The service was outstanding with the waitress knowing a lot about the extensive wine list. The food was delicious, we went with the Wagyu beef dumplings, shared the tomahawk ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with mushrooms. Not a single complaint about the food or service. Tables a very far apart so you feel like you have privacy.
The food was excellent, the cocktails are great, customer service above exceptional, our waitress 10 out of 10 , if you want to impress your wife or husband, date this is the place to go
Food was great! Had ribeye, shrimp, potatoes, lava cake, and lobster, which were all incredible, they don't shy away from seasonings and butter which is very appreciated. Our server Josh was awesome, attentive to the table, had great recommendations, made sure to ask if it was a special occasion in case we wanted photos, and was overall very kind. The atmosphere was also quite nice, great decor and style and it was very clean. This is a great place to go for dates or special occasions! -The drinks were also great too, we got non alcoholic fruit drinks and they were actually really tasty.
We had a nice experience at the place celebrating my husband’s birthday. We started some onion breads with seasonal sangria and some beers. We had oysters as appetizers. The size was small but they were fresh. I had filet mignon with black truffle butter and my husband got bone in ribeye with garlic butter. They were tasty, the meat was juicy and so tender. It was seared evenly. We also got lobster mac and cheese and some fries. My husband loved the mac and cheese. The waiter was friendly and prompt.
We love this restaurant, the food is always incredible. We dined a few days ago, and Nolan was our server. He was fantastic, his recommendations were spot on. He had a very good attitude and gave us top tier service. We would come back because of him alone! Cheers
This is a classic steakhouse in Portland. Food is consistent and the service is always exceptional. Justin, who has been there for 13 years is an institution. He always makes you feel at home and remembers what you like. We’ve eaten in the bar as well as the dining room. Last night we enjoyed happy hour in the bar and had wagu burger and sliders. The atmosphere is old style with low lighting. There’s room on the table for lots of utensils and lots of dishes. Portions are healthy and you never walk away hungry.
The Nueske's bacon appetizer was excellent. Chilean sea bass is also 5 out of five. The Morton's coffee was excellent combination with the creme brulee made of real vanilla bean per pastry chef. Atmosphere was -1 due to the large amount of people overwhelming the bar seating area with loud noise.
Absolutely Amazing!!!!! We had the best date night that turned into our engagement night. My fiancé and I had such a great moment. She had no idea I was going to propose, with the help of KIM!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾our server 🫶🏾 and the another female hostess , I managed to pull off a surprise engagement for my fiancé, Kim had very great ideas (wrapped the ring around the champagne glass) my fiancé was so surprised seeing the ring. I was so nervous through out but Kim helped me through out and gave us complimentary photos which were gorgeous (wish I could share them) but here is a glimpse of our meal which we enjoyed. Very grateful for all staff for making this a forever moment 🫶🏾 5/10/25.
A great place to celebrate a birthday 🎂 Service from Jill our server was top notch and so was the food. The 16oz ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly and so was the rack of lamb. The blue cheese wedge salad is one of the best in town. I love the retro feel of this restaurant too.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last night. Everything was amazing from the start. Our server was absolutely amazing and his recommendations were spot on. Steak melted like butter each bite and the salmon with just as good. Thank you for the great experience.
My friends who were celebrating their 10 year anniversary wanted something intimate and a bit elegant so for this special occasion we opted for a classy old school sit down dinner experience. Of course the food is always top notch but this visit our server Jill really stole the show. She was very knowledgeable with both the menu and drink lists and she was so relatable. We had an idea of what we wanted but she really help us craft a meal that we all enjoyed. Dinner was our first stop. The Portland Winter Light Festival was our next stop
We had an amazing experience at Morton’s Steakhouse thanks to Che! He was incredibly polite, very attentive, and kept the evening fun with his great sense of humor. My friend and I felt so well taken care of and truly enjoyed our time here. The service made our dinner even more memorable, and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Che, for making our night so special!
Morton's Steakhouse in Portland is hands down the best steakhouse I've ever been to. I ordered the NY steak along with a salad, asparagus, and chicken bites, and every bite was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The sides complemented the meal perfectly, especially the asparagus, which was just right. What really sets Morton's apart is the customer service—it was above and beyond. The staff made me feel truly welcome and ensured that every aspect of my dining experience was top-notch. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Portland, I highly recommend Morton's Steakhouse!
This restaurant was amazing. It's on the spendy side but well worth every penny. Staff was so nice and sweet. Food was so delicious 😋. It was about a little over an hour wait for the steak dinners and a half hour wait for the dessert 🍨 but everything was fresh and mouth watering.
Best steak I've ever had, the wine was delicious. I loved the asparagus. The server was impeccable, he was on point the whole dinner, with recommendations and kept our table clean, but wasn't a bother, really impressed. I recommend requesting your bread sliced.
Best steakhouse in Portland Oregon. I’ve celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday as well as mine & their staff always takes good care of us. Their food & drink menu offer excellent options to choose from. Highly recommend their old fashion & lemon drop, they don’t hold back on their alcohol content like other restaurants which is great because it makes you want to keep ordering more w/ zero regrets. Also recommend their Prime Cajun Ribeye & the Prime New York Strip, very great flavors & beautifully seasoned & garnished. For dessert I recommend their hot chocolate lava cake, it’s the perfect combination of different chocolates w/o being too sweet. Their atmosphere offers a very intimate experience with dimmed lights & luxurious experience. Overall, this restaurant has always exceeded our expectations in food quality as well as drink mixology.
Everything was absolutely fabulous here! My husband and I had a lovely experience and look forward to coming back another time. Pictures were from my leftovers that I had at home a few days later and they were still absolutely incredible! Will have to get pictures from my husband of our actual dining experience. Our server was wonderful!
I just had my 30th birthday here today and I gotta say this has got to be one of the most spectacular steakhouses I have ever had the privilege to dine at! The service is incredible and the workers are friendly, the food is absolutely beyond words delicious! The atmosphere is incredible and calming and yet welcoming, I honestly can't figure out what more incredible words I can use to describe this amazing place! 10 out of 10 Morton's Steakhouse! Keep up the fantastic work 💯
I haven’t been to a Morton‘s in over 30 years. I took my sales team here to celebrate. They are my new best fave steakhouse. Wow the steak quality and meats amazing. Their sides, we had one of each no lie, delicious. Their appetizers, we have one of everything, amazing. Our server Mark was awesome. Not just did he do everything right but he was part of the conversation. The whole restaurant and atmosphere was perfect for nine people at the table. Having a good conversation, the place is not too loud. You don’t have to talk over each other. This will be where we hang out from now on. All my sellers can’t stop talking about it. They say the same, it’s their new fave. One of my sellers has a Perry steakhouse favorite he said this is now his favorite. If you’re in Portland, or any city for that matter, where they have a Morton’s the steakhouse. I highly recommend.
One of the classiest places in Portland. The waitstaff are highly trained professionals, serving, clearing, and attending to every need the guests may have. I attended a function with 42 people in attendance. The food came out for everyone at the same time, appetizers, salad, main course, and dessert. The prime rib was tender, the chicken Christopher could be cut with a fork. The key lime pie was too due for, and by then I was so stuffed it felt like I may die if I took another bite. Top marks all around. This is the place to take a date you want to impress.
The service at Morton’s was amazing! Very helpful servers who went above and beyond for our special occasion! The food was delicious, and when my steak wasn’t cooked to the temperature I preferred, they immediately corrected it and personally made sure it was perfect!
Was my first time there with my husband for our anniversary and it was such an amazing experience, the staff were all so nice and even gave us cute little heart decorations on our table for our anniversary and a free dessert. Our waiter john was the best! He gave us a full overview of the menu and was so charming all night! Definitely a wonderful experience and the perfect place to go for special events!
We drove all the way from Lacey, Washington to get Morton’s to go. It was a two hour drive and it was worth every bite. This burger was honestly the most delicious, cheesy, mouth watering, perfectly seasoned, juicy burger I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not exaggerating either. We had to eat it in the car because we are driving home two hours and I’m like “dang I should have ordered one for a second dinner!” I normally don’t have second dinners but this was a second dinner kind of cheeseburger. Melted in my mouth!!, the fries were good too not my favorite but good. The baked potato had all the stuff on the sides I loaded that bad boy up smothered everything on top and I had to feed my husband bites while he was driving and I ate it too. That potato was so amazing, yummy we ate it all!, the entire thing. On our driving dinner we had the chocolate mousse let me tell you this was absolutely incredible it was a bunch of super fresh fruits with the most delicious mousse I’ve ever had in my entire life!, we have lived all over the US and we are food snobs. This meal was so worth the drive!!!, my taste buds were like “Dang girl you spoilin’ us!!” The guy that brought us our food was super friendly and nice. The only thing that I would say was bothersome was there was two paper towels in there. I am a messy eater even messier driving and eating. Everything was so wonderful!!
What an absolutely LOVELY place!!! The food was Devine. Although I did the horrid ordering of my steak well done, it was still melt in your mouth scrumptious, the bacon wrapped scallops were heavenly. Our server, I think his name was Shay was marvelous. I'd LOVE to have the decanters we seen and took pictures of. This place deserves WAY more than 5 stars!!!
This place does it all! The atmosphere was great. Everything you'd want in a high end steakhouse. Perfectly dimly lit, cellar type feeling with the wine displayed on the wall. The service was great. Kevin might have been the best server I've ever had. He was professional, relaxed, funny and patient. They serve you a warm loaf of locally made bread to begin. We started with the wagyu meatballs. Amazing taste! Some of the best I ever had. Entrée I had the bone in rib eye. It was juicy and had amazing flavor. Cooked to a just right medium rare. Then we shared the Morton's Hot Chocolate Cake. It was a great cake with a middle of warm chocolate sauce and ice cream. It was great. This place lived up to expectations in my opinion. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a fine dining experience! Fantastic place.
Morton's in Portland delivered a memorable dining experience with their exceptional steaks. My son enjoyed the 7-ounce Wagyu, which was tender and flavorful, while I had the aged sirloin, cooked to perfection with a robust taste. Both of us appreciated the classic Caesar salad, crisp and well-dressed. The Brussels sprouts, shared between us, were a standout side—crispy and well-seasoned. Overall, Morton's proved to be a solid choice for a high-quality steak dinner in Portland.
This is an authentic steakhouse experience! I’m talking valet parking, coat check, excellent whiskey flight and zero proof drinks, onion bread, premium New York strip steak, Chicago gardenia inspired plating of the salmon, traditional supper club style side dishes, and decadent chocolate cake. If you want dinner, go to a restaurant. If you want an experience, visit Morton’s. Originally from the Midwest? This place will make you reminisce a little. For a special New Years Eve outing this was very memorable! A one and only suggestion might be to offer a couple of dairy-free alternatives on the menu or other dietary alternatives. There was a lot of butter/cheese in most side dishes.
I didn't get the bartender's name but he was Great. He worked the night of the Portland and Laker game 2/20/25. The hostess sat us and it was nearly closing. We were so grateful l for that because we just arrived for that evening and they were walking distance from our hotel.
My youngest son decided we should have Thanksgiving dinner at Mortons in Portland and I should not cook. It was the best decision he made for us!! Ive cooked for decades!!! But this by far was my best Thanksgiving ever!!! No shopping, preparing, cooking, cleaning or mess. The dinner at Mortons from soup to dessert was phenomenal. Everything cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and the ambiance lovely. Now, I can look forward to Thanksgiving next year instead of dreading all the work. I will be dining at Mortons and you should too!
Atmosphere is Amazing Food is Amazing Service is UNMATCHED. Will A. (Our Server) was absolutely incredible and very personable. We enjoyed our meal, as well as his brief conversation while he was serving us. His customer service was some of the best we have experienced. If you look at the menu and find this restaurant to be slightly pricey it pays off gracefully and the food and service is worth every penny. The quality of food and service reflect the prices justly! Just book the reservation you won’t be sorry.
There’s no words to describe this place!! Nolan was legit the best server we’ve ever had! He took the time to explain the menu to us, and even more he really made us feel so special! He’s definitely one of a kind and deserves more than a raise! To the rest of the team at Morton’s, we travel hundreds of miles just to come here and every time it’s always worth it! Thank you so much and thank YOU Nolan!!!!
We had Jill as our server and she was so kind! She was quick to answer any questions we had, had great communication on food wait times and was so attentive to anything we needed. I enjoyed this experience and would love be hosted by Jill again!
Went here for dinner with my girlfriend kind of last minute. Snagged a reservation a few hours prior, and was not sure what to expect. We were totally blown away. Our waiter (John) was truly excellent and a true master of his craft, a perfect blend of professional and casual. Made us feel welcome and in no way was stuffy or overbearing. We joked and laughed with him and he gave us some great advice on the menu (eat your veggies or your mother will be swiftly notified). The food was truly excellent. My girlfriend commented that the seabass was the single best piece of fish she's ever had in her life and my steak and lobster was literal perfection. Yes it is a bit pricey...but I will pay good money for good food and good service and Morton's has that in spades. O and that bread though.... 100% Recommend.
Everything about our visit was outstanding. We arrived early for our reservation and ended up sitting in the bar, where our server Justin provided impeccable service. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp Calabria sauce was absolutely to die for. The garlic bread and seasonal sangria were both delicious complements to the meal. The highlight, however, was the crème brûlée—truly the best I’ve ever had. We’d return just for Justin’s service and that dessert alone.
Always a consistent experience at Mortons. Steak is excellent. Cooked perfect with a bit of seasoning and some of the best sides. Drinks are not bad either. Our server was excellent. Was a busy night, but the experience did not suffer. While different locations do vary, always a decent meal and professional servers.
Morton’s never disappoints with the premium quality of the food. It is pricey, so not a regular place to visit but definitely worth the special occasion. The service matches the high quality of the food and like many other high class steak restaurants, serves entrees separately and you have to purchase separate sides to share. Overall, this is a great place with high quality food but you will pay for it…
Went here to celebrate my wife and I's recent marriage. Steak was delicious. Would definitely recommend the prime rib as it was the most tender and flavorful for the orders placed at our table. The prime porterhouse was good, but not excellent in my opinion. I ordered it medium rare, but it was a little too well done for my liking. Some parts of it were perfection while others were tough. It is a thicker cut so I could see the cooking process resulting in such a level of thoroughness. The truffle butter, if you are a fan of truffles, went perfectly with the steaks. The bread on the side was fluffy and the butter smooth. We had a mixed seafood platter I cannot remember the name of and then some grilled vegetables on the side as well. Those were both very good, but not outstanding. Then again, this is a steakhouse so the steaks are the focus. Overall an enjoyable experience, but do not see myself returning anytime soon as it is outside of our normal dining budget. The service was great even though it was a busy night. The waiter was also accommodating with our allergies and tried to find an entree that could work for us.
It was pretty good, but for the price, a few things keeping me reserved. - I had soda water and needed to keep stopping people from refilling it with water. Even after telling them it was soda water, no one brought me a refill until I could such the server again. - it took 5+min for the server to greet the table after being seated. Maybe they assume you need time to look over the wine menu? I'd rather have the real menus first if it's going to take so long. - went for an anniversary and they did the table up nice, which was cool. They also offered a free dessert win was also really nice. She sold us on the lava cake that she said took 20min to make. I let her know we had somewhere to be right after (something they didn't ask, being so close to the Keller, like Ruth's Chris did to ensure we're on time for a show at the surrounding theaters.) She said she'd put it in right away but it still took just short of an hour to get from that point. We barely made our next event. Even with a party of two, give yourself two hours to dine here. Anything less and you're risking it.
Very busy the night we were there, but the service team did a great job setting expectations of a slow kitchen, and keeping our large party happy. Lobster tail and salads were incredible, French fries were amazing. The steak (filet mignon) was dry and disappointing.
Pros: Beautiful place, has that fancy vibe to it, steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned perfect, great job on that. Staff was pleasant and friendly and indulged in conversation, that was nice to see they weren't robots with a smile. Cons: fancy vibe went away,2 guys with pants sagged to their knees and basketball jerseys on kinda killed it for a minute. Apparently a dress code isn't a thing. Wasn't horrible, just not expected. Side dishes are a little expensive for what you get. Asparagus was way under cooked, mashed potatoes were almost liquid form and had an odd flavor. Again not horrible just not expected. Drinks (we got tea and a Shirley temple) were ok. Tea tasted like it was pulled from a pond, im sure it's just the brand. Drinks were a little higher priced than they should be in my opinion. All in all its a good place little pricey for whats on the table. Steaks are Def awesome. With tip it was about $105 per person for steak ,potatoes, asparagus a drink and bread.
I always wind up comparing Mortons to the Capital Grille, and unfortunately, more of than not, the comparison does not work in Mortons favor favor We were a larger group and we had a diverse set of orders. The bacon was not as good as elsewhere, the onion rings were on par with an Applebee's, the steak was not the best cut of meat. The meatballs were not as good as Maggianos. All in all. It was an ok meal. Nothing memorable Service was great!!! Just need the food to be elevated to what it used to be.
I think we ended up there, for our first time, on a very off night. Firstly, our server was wonderful. Margo was kind, personable, prompt and clearly dealing with some big kitchen issues. We were nearly at the 2 hour mark when we finally got our mains, and one of them was stone cold. No biggie. They fixed OUR issue quickly. The poor birthday girl next to us? Not so much. The food was good, but mediocre for the price point.
We’ve been here two or three times before and had great experiences but last night was clearly an off night. The kitchen and bar were very backed up. Our mains arrived about an hour after we ordered and each round of drinks took about 20 minutes to be delivered. They did help to make it right without us having to ask. The food was delicious.
Meh. A $300 meal with your valentine should not be rated ok at best. The table was tiny making cutting a steak interesting. There were long periods where we were waiting for the server to return to clear the table or refill our coffee. I'm normally asked asked to check the cook of the steak when it is served. Not this time. The broccolini and the cheesecake were the highlights.
Normally we come to Mortons on Sundays after church; nonetheless, we are here on a Monday because it's my husband's birthday. Well the food is night and day between the weekends and weeknights. Our food tonight was HORRIBLE. Medium steak overcooked, szechuan green beans topped not tossed with some type of flavoring and soggy brussel sprouts; no crisp to be found. What a huge disappointment. We've been here several times and never had food this horrible. I'm only taking the leftovers because I paid for them. They will sit in fridge for a couple weeks and then get thrown out. Take a look at what I mean. See our before food and after food pictures - it's written in our face. I don't know what to say other than I'm shocked and disappointed. Only thing good was the drinks and the server. EVEN the lava cake was different..Check it Out
We had a disastrous Christmas Eve dinner. We were really excited to have our first Christmas Eve dinner out and it was an absolute disaster. Waited for an hour for our steaks, granted they were slammed busy. Finally got our food and the steaks were stone cold, not even remotely warm. Granted the manager was VERY good. Apologized and did everything right but at this point we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. Needless to say we will never eat out again for Christmas Eve dinner.
For the price, the standard of quality and sanitation is way below what it should be. Highly recommend not dining at a chain who does not treat its kitchen staff with fair wages and overworks them.
My significant other, me, his cousin, and his cousins wife went to dinner last night expecting a much better meal than we had. We got sat at a tiny table there was no room for any of us and we are all pretty small weight wise so it made us cramped. When I got my drink it was almost spilt on me and the cup became super sticky so we asked for another one which the waiter was not happy about getting me another one. Then we ordered our food it took almost an hour and a half to come out the meat was not good at all there was little to no flavor, the wedge salad was great but it was iceberg lettuce, the asparagus was not cooked, and the potatoes was probably everyone’s favorite. The food made the table extremely cramped as well.
