I was surprised and could not stop myself to hit wow for overall service and staff members are more friendly then expected. Real taste of Nepalese food. Especially the jhol momo brings you watery in the mouth. Brilliant place for breakfast , lunch and dinner . 👍
Authentic nepali Thali taste 😋 and it's under budget. We had goat curry and local chicken curry both were delicious. We also had fried chicken momo it was delicious too and their cilantro base momo sauce tasted amazing too.
The food taste amazing . Just had a great lunch which includes the chicken fried thali with sauce on the side . The server were good and friendly .
Everything here was so tasty and came in large portions. I couldn’t stop thinking about their jhol momo so I ordered again two days later. Highly highly recommended!! Try their dhido!!
Place is clean and nice. The atmosphere was good with nice Nepali background music. Their service is very good like the server explain you everything and nice behavior. The great thing is it's #Halal ❤️
The frozen Momo and momo sauce is absolutely amazing. Totally worth it. I have never dined there, so no experience on that.
Authentic Nepalese food, Thali and Momos were great. You can tell from the customers and the people serving that this is authentic cuisine.
Amazing Nepali cuisine and fantastic service! Easily the best spot in Queens for authentic flavors.
Favorite place to get Nepali food. Wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. Been here multiple times. The food always hits and the staff is amazing!
Ordered delivery for the first time from this restaurant and the food was amazing! My roommate and I had goat and local chicken thalis (it's like a round platter used to serve a variety of dishes; but of course for delivery they are in separate bowls). We love all the dishes! The food is spicy but acceptable, and you could taste different spices and herbs from each dish. Will definitely try other dishes next time!
Great local place. The service is awesome. The food is fantastic.
Im surprised as to why this place does not have 5 stars altogether. If you want to have great Nepalese food look not more. This is as authentic as it gets. All dishes were tasty and the staff was awesome. Not only were they fast, amicable and kind but genuinely interested in teaching you about what each dish was, ingredients and such. Anyways, give it a try if you are around and maybe you too would understand what Im talking about.
Authentic traditional Nepali thali that feels like homemade food. Even my kids who are such picky eaters would say this is their best chicken thali place to eat. Never disappoints. Best frozen momo place as well.
Visited this cozy joint a few days back. I ordered a simple lunch- a cream of chicken mushroom soup & for the entree- Salmon Teriyaki. The soup was 8 out of 10. But the Salmon which was served in a sizzler platter by the smiling wait staff was simply awesome... outstanding!!! Even the price was moderate.Highly Recommended.🤗😋
Great casual spot for delicious momo, noodles, and traditional plates. Warm and friendly service.
I usually get frozen chicken momo from here every week. I've never had momo as delicious as the ones here also its budget friendly. Staff are kind too😍
Awesome food. Best Thali and MoMo (Dumplings) Has variety of food and the service is fast too. Be back soon . Don’t forget to tell your spice level because it might be spicy for you. I like spicy So it was perfect for me. 4 best recommendation. 1 Chicken thali 2 Chowmein 3. khaja set 4 Momo ( chicken mainly)
Affordable, delicious, easily accessible by subway. I don’t think there’s anything more that you could want. This was the first meal I had when I moved to Woodside in 2021. It has now become a weekly meal. I’ve moved away, but I still come back.
Kathmandu Fusion Kitchen offers a delightful blend of traditional Nepalese flavors with a modern twist. The menu features authentic favorites like momo dumplings, flavorful curries, and savory noodle dishes, all crafted with fresh ingredients. The cozy, inviting atmosphere pairs well with the attentive and friendly service. Highlights include the jhol momo and the fusion-style chow mein, which bring bold spices without overpowering the palate. Whether you're new to Nepalese cuisine or a longtime fan, Kathmandu Fusion Kitchen is a must-visit.
Best thali ever. I always get the fried pork thali, beef sukuti thali and the fried chicken thali. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly packaged. The portions are generous, and I appreciate that they always include extras like lemon wedges, onions and green chilli. my favorite nepali thali spot in town, and I highly recommend it.
I don't understand the lower rating here...This is #1 best nepalese restaurant in all of queens. The thali is just next level amazing! Maybe the service is not what american people expect but the food speaks for itself. Pork sukiti thali, chicken jhol momo, and the MULA ACHAR!! Amazing <3333
Kathmandu Fusion is a great spot for real Nepali food in Jackson Heights. We tried pork sekuwa sandheko, sukuti, sandheko noodles, momo, and the amazing dhido set with gundruk jhol. Every dish had rich, authentic flavors that reminded me of home. The momo were juicy, the sukuti was perfectly dried and spiced, and the sekuwa sandheko had the right mix of heat and tang. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and fair prices. If you love Nepali cuisine, this place is a must-visit!
Google reviews has a 3.6 for this place. Honestly thank god I didn’t let that turn me away. The reviews got brought down for slow service. I had NO issues with service here. Staff were so friendly and came up to tell me how to eat certain things. Warned me about spice level in a very endearing way. There’s almost only locals who eat here. Eating with hands which I’ve yet to master without the food slipping through my fingers. The food was excellent. We got the beef jhol momos, which were on par with some of the best in the area. They were flavorful and the filling was substantial. Their special sauce is different from others but in a good way. The goat sukuti dhido was also great. I’ve never had dhido before but it’s similar to fufu. Made from millet flour instead. It was so filling and fun to eat with the side veg, lentil soups, the bit of butter they pour in top. The goat sukuti is dry (not curry) but it was still very tender almost even though it’s a dry meat. It didn’t get stuck in my teeth and I didn’t chew forever. The best part is, I learned from others that you can get refills of rice, the lentil soup sides and the veg sides. I don’t think it’s extra. I asked for a refill of the sautéed greens dish and didn’t get charged more. I hope that’s a given for all Nepalese places because I’ve never thought to ask that. After ordering those two we saw the waiwai sadeko come out. So we got that too. I asked for medium spicy since it looked pretty red from where I saw. And yet it still kicked my taste buds. It was crunchy and flavorful esp with the lemon squeeze and very delightful to eat. So spicy but addicting. Service charge is included ( I believe at just 15% but didn’t do the math), which of course you can give more. Excellent hidden gem right off the train, will be back.
Had an amazing experience at Kathmandu Fusion Kitchen! We tried the traditional Nepali thali and dhido set — and everything from the gundruk to the goat curry hit just right. The dhido was perfectly cooked with just the right texture, served with flavorful saag, tangy pickles, and rich mutton curry that tasted like home. The thali with basmati rice, chicken curry, and sides had the perfect balance of spice and comfort. Every bite reminded us of authentic Nepali flavors — bold, hearty, and deeply satisfying. Service was friendly and quick, and the presentation was on point. If you’re looking for an authentic Nepali meal that feels both traditional and elevated — this is the spot. Highly recommend! 🙌🇳🇵
Very authentic nepali food. Amazingly good veg thaali, u can ask for ghee. Good portion size. In our short stay in nyc 3days, we went there twice. We ate all like our picture below 😜. We were so excited for the food and tastes so good we forgot to take picture each time before eating.
We were in the neighborhood and were contemplating where to eat. We searched for places nearby, and this one popped up. However, we were somewhat skeptical since this place has under 4-star reviews. We thought, often times places with lower ratings can surprise you, so we decided to just go for it. The place isn't posh; it's your average local restaurant. However, it had something that a lot of places lack: a homey touch. We felt welcomed, as if we were right at someone's home. We ordered a few items, and they were great. The quality was on par. They offered extra rice and daal at no additional charge. The service was just as great. The waiter took the time to explain dishes that we weren't familiar with. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely visit again.
Love this place and the food is absolutely amazing. Service is a little bit on the poor side but the food compensates for that. I have tried the veg thali - 5 star hands down Jhol Momo - 5 stars And fried rice which were a little bland so I had to add the sauces. Chilli momo could have been cooked more. Overall the food is excellent and it’s my fav go to Nepalese place
Anyone craving for authentic Bhutun fry ( goat fried inner part) please check this place out, their Bhutun is divine. Perfect texture and balance of masalas. What a pity that the service does not accompany the high quality of the cooking. You can hardly get a smile out of the waitresses.Thankfully the guy server, a middle-aged charming man, is always around willing to exchange some kind words with all his clients. We ordered five different type of Thalis and a set of chicken taas which were equally delicious. Out of all , only drawback of the whole set of food was alo cauliflower very flavorless. So far I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had a pleasant dining experience with food. Went there again while I was in new york after 5 months , They have improved significantly in service wise and nobody can beat their thali taste and bhutan So I am compelled to give them 5 star
Absolutely amazing food out here. Try it. My brother recommended this place to me. My crew had dinner here for 3 days in a row when we were in NY. We tried C momo, jhol momo, chicken thali, tea, veg thali. All great with Nepalese taste. Gundruk ko chatani in chicken thali 🥰 Wont miss this place if i go to NY
Great food with a great service!! I stopped here today with my friends. Came here after 2 years approx. And, nothing has changed so far. We ordered aloo dum, chicken steamed momo, fish fried thali, and jhol mom. They were all very delicious, and authentic. 1st aloo dum that we got on the table, something was missing and we told the waiter about this aloo . He took it with him and made us a new one. 2nd aloo dum was spicy and great . Momo: It was very juicy and yum. Dumpling was served with 3 different types of chutneys. Some of them was spicy, and some of them were mild. Lastly, fish thali was great as well. One of the best thali I’ve ever had in NYC. I love this place and this is a legit nepali restaurant. Food is always great here and so are the prices. Will definitely come back:)
These guys opened after closing down Dhaulagiri in Manhattan. Honestly, for thali or newari set, this is the best place to go. Every one that I've taken here loves it. It's BYOB too. So, more fun. The food tastes amazing. I rated 4 stars because they automatically add the tips and don't tell you. So, don't tip them again! Specially if you're spending a lot of money.
food was good. place is good. only issue is the sneaky credit card charge. just tell me that you will charge a credit card fee and i’ll be fine. i feel being upfront of the credit card fee policy would help.
I went to Kathmandu Fusion Restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and my experience was rewarding while some lowlights. First, on the plus side, the food was incomparable because it had intense flavor profiles and as well the food here tasted like home for me. One of the most outstanding dishes served at the restaurant was the momo platter, which had perfectly steamed dumplings with a sour dipping sauce that tied everything together. Their ambiance, too, deserves praise-it's so warm and inviting, with all sorts of pretty Nepalese decoration to make it authentic. However, the service left something to be desired. While the staff was polite, the wait time for both seating and food was longer than expected, which dampened the overall experience. Additionally, some menu items were unavailable, which was disappointing given the extensive offerings. Despite these issues, the quality of the food and the unique cultural experience make Kathmandu Fusion a place worth visiting, especially if you're patient and looking for bold, flavorful dishes.
Nice little Nepalese restaurant. Quantity was not that much based on the price, but the quality was good. The staff were nice and helpful. It gets crowded during busy hours, so the place will get loud, and space can be limited. Would recommend this place if you want a good taste of Nepalese meal once in a while.
Friendly Reminder to the Restaurant Owner: First of all, as a couple, we came for lunch, and the food was really good. The only thing I didn't like was the mandatory tip as a service fee. Tipping should be optional. I understand that some places enforce mandatory tips for large groups, but for a small party like ours, it feels unnecessary. If you truly want to sustain and run the business long-term, the service fee should be removed. Customers may hesitate to return after their first visit or may choose not to come back at all.
Thali is always a great choice. The potato chilly was crunchy and spicy 🌶 The servers were very friendly and kind. I was just disappointed that my friend who’s a vegetarian didn’t have as many side dishes as non-vegetarians. Would be nice to have more sides. Also, we were served cold daal on our first serving 🥲 And another huge pet peeve of mine is being close to people smoking cigarettes. Some guys were smoking right outside the restaurant and sadly we were sitting in the outdoor dining area and all the smoke was coming right into the outer dining area and the windows were closed ;( Please put up a “no-smoking” sign outside. Thank you. Food’s great so will come back often :)
We came here Tuesday evening and we were seated right away. We had jhol momo which was so good as the soup.i got goat bhutan and became a fan so i had to order one more time.my wife had fish dhido which she enjoyed and i had rice, everything was nice and good but I only didn’t like they putting gratuity for two people…..they got less from there which I would have given them.overall nice experience….. will give them one chance again to see what they will do next time..!!
Have been exploring all the Momo places & the Momo was to our expectations. Really liked the soup on jhol momo, tangier side. Goat Bhutan tasted good but it was too tiny pieces to feel you are actually eating them. I would prefer little bigger pieces. The server was very polite & friendly. The seating & the decor was okay.
I always used to buy Frozen Momo from here and didn't have any complaints but this time I was really disappointed. I don't know what went wrong with the makers but the Momo didn't have enough stuffings inside, it felt like I was just eating the cover and it was not fun.
Dumplings were half colds and half steamed. I was recommended to get this by one of the workers sadly it wasn't held up to the expectations the steamed dumplings did seem great but honestly if not all of them were why get any. I also had vegetarian fried rice which was amazing but then ordered a side of chicken wings an was not held up to picture quality and expectation of the menu I was shown. I'd give it a three-star due to not being able to give it two and a half Stars
The curry was overly salty. And they didn't get me my dessert and I had remind them. I was rather disappointed
I loved this place my first time. I had such a good experience the first time I kept expecting to have it again but after 3-5 disappointments in a row I am steering clear. The momos are ok. Avoid any fried rice options not fresh. Ask what they recommend, their recommended dishes tend to have more fresh flavors. Still sometimes find like old hard rice in the food.
Cashier is drunk. This truth: Restaurant; Dirty and stink. Restroom; dirty and stink. Worst food handling; dirty dishes and food going to table are in the same table close to each other. Waiter never washes hands after he touch dirty dishes. I will never go there again.
Bitter and cold experience. There food is okay but service is slow considering the fact that I and my wife visited them in first of January we patiently waited for our food. There are few things that didn’t show up and we both decided to leave. When we both went to cashier and let him know about slow service and food not coming in time, he told us it’s busy and they don’t care. We both were surprised and can not utter a word after that. I will not recommend to go and dine in for this restaurant. Me and my wife have decided not to be their guest again.
We stopped in to order take out. Was told 20 minutes. We stood there waiting for 55 minutes. I don't think I need to say much more. Food was good but not notable compared to similar restaurants, and definitely not worth the wait. Staff were friendly but overwhelmed.
I have never encountered a situation where customers are charged a 3% fee for credit card transactions. It seems that the owner prefers cash payments, possibly to conceal income when filing taxes. I informed the staff that it is not appropriate to impose fees on customers for using credit cards. Honestly, I have never experienced paying fees for card transactions at restaurants in NYC. They need to take this policy seriously. Please be aware that when you make a payment with a card, you might unexpectedly incur a sneaky 3% charge for card transactions.
There is always a problem on my order. Sometimes goat sekuwa is fully burned i cannot eat, and sometimes pieces less on momo. This time i ordered chicken jhol momo and paid for extra jhol, timur achar and coriander achar. I didnot get achar i paid extra for and even jhol that comes with momo is so less. This so disappointing. They have to work on their customer service.
Stopped I'm here for a quick dinner with my husband. It was a Friday night, the restaurant was empty we were shown to a seat with a dirty table. Server came and cleaned the table, we got the menus and what I assumed to be the restaurant manager came to explain the menu. Making a long review very short, the food was ok. The service was OK, the server waited for a tip once we were handed the check. We had to tell the manager to not reach over the food or point at it. He was almost touching the food. Would not eat here again. Would not recommend.
They gave me expired drinks and food service also not good
I was there last night food was not fresh and horrible. Service was terrible never going back again. When I checked my bill they charged me credit card fee, that’s totally illegal. If they continue doing this they will get trouble. Never recommend this place
I had high expectations coz I was told this was under new management. But the food was too oily and bland. The chicken chow mein was dripping oil. Momo was just average. Thali was also not that impressive. Samay baji was also too oily. On top of that when we were in the restaurant eating, owner had an altercation with a customer who came for momo take out. It was very verbal and too loud with lots of F word. And strangely enough, i was charged again in my card after 3 months. Upon investigation, i found that for some reason the initial charge they put on my card was cancelled and they recharged me the same amount after 3 months. This establishment has some serious issues.
Very rude waitress. She was constantly getting into a very personal conversation my friend was having with me. The food tasted like it was prepared a week ago and was heated in the microwave. I ordered chicken thali and food was as bas as the service. You wouldn't want to go here if you want a quiet environment because the people here are very loud and it's not a bug restaurant.
Ridiculous that they only give you 1 sauce for momo. Ordered 4 orders of momo and only got 4 sauces. I used to come all the time and pick up and get tons of sauces. Not sure if it’s new management being cheap about the sauces, but no way one sauce is enough.
Food and service not good and expired beer
Unsanitary and a bunch of incompetent workers. Simple request turned into a whole problem.
Omg took hour to bring and when we got veg thali there was no veg curry only side dishes like pickles n dal… and when we asked the waitress she is that’s veg thali…. She thinks I am new to this country n lying. Really not expected like that…
I order a food from Kathmandu fusion it was like very bad I order thuppa it was like garbage
No Itemized Bills and we realized we were overcharged when we went home, has always been going there and it’s Third time. No energy to Call back and fight but would highly recommend everyone to check your bills before payment. Had gone there with my Friend’s recommendation. It was sad . Would not be going next time.
Went here yesterday with two of my friends. We were tired and hungry so my friends grabbed a Gatorade each while I grabbed a bottle of coke from the fridge . We sat down and a waitress came to take the order. One of my friends order a chicken thali and the other ordered momo while I ordered egg chowmein( I eat egg every now and then but don’t eat meat). Five minutes later the thali is brought but the the other two orders are not. As my friend is about to end the thali, about 15 mins later, a waitress brings momo and a plate of chowmein. I ask her if it is egg chowmein, she tells me it’s veg chowmein, instead. I don’t want to create a fuss over it and was also hungry so decide to just accept it. Except, once I take a bite I realize there are chunks of chicken in it. I call the waitress and make her aware of it . She seemed unfazed by it and walked away, only to come back and let me know that it was in fact chicken chowmein and expected me to be one with it. I tell her that’s not my order. She goes to the kitchen to confirm, comes back, and tells me there was a mix up of orders and my order somehow went to a delivery container and that I’d have to wait for them to make another one. At this point both my friends are done eating and we also had another place to be at so I asked the waitress to cancel the order instead. She nonchalantly tells me it’s already in the works and may be I should just pack it and take it home instead if I’m in a hurry. I tell her “No” and to cancel the order. At this point I’m infuriated and we are ready to leave, my friends go up to the counter and pay their own bills - separately. I am tired, hungry and pissed off so go to towards the door and stay away from the counter or anyone that works there. At this point the manager calls me to the counter and has the audacity to ask me how I’d like to pay three dollars for the Coca Cola I drank. My friend interferes and tells him to take it off the bill he paid (which was initially a tip)…this was definitely the most unprofessional, unethical and careless behavior I’ve ever faced at a restaurant. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service, with no accountability and absolutely no regard for customers’ preferences..
They serve date expired food and drinks totaly unsatisfied with food and drinks its not employees falut it’s owners falut to check date expired things
The food was okay, but I didn't appreciate the lack of transparency regarding the added gratuity( even for 2 people) and extra charge when using a card. It would have been helpful to know about these fees in advance
i am very unhappy with food and drink and the costumer service was not good and the beer drinks were date expired
I just ordered 3 beef jhol momos for pick up. They said it will be ready in 20 minutes. I went there 30 minutes later to give them more time to get it done. I waited a few more minutes in the restaurant because the momos were not ready. Finally returned home with the momos only to find out that they were not cooked through. The dough was raw and the filling inside as well. Perhaps, the place is understaffed?
The times I have been here, the place is hardly packed. Whether that is a sign - take it how you will. An employee came from the kitchen to take our order but was hard to understand and came off rude before we said anything. He was not enunciating clearly and sounded like he was slurring words. Plus the way he was talking to us sounded rude and demanding. Letting that slide, we told our order and the guy paused a few times and seemed frustrated trying to enter it into the machine like he was struggling. Our receipt was given to us, which is weird because there was a sign about it being a 4% discount if paying by cash. If there is a sign about there being a discount if paying with cash, you’d think the staff would ask if you’re paying by cash or not before they print the receipt. I even asked about the discount sign and again, the employee was hard to understand because he was mumbling and slurring words. It did sound like the machine adds tax automatically so there is nothing we can do. Seems confusing because I’m not sure how that relates to the discount sign. I let that go again because I really want to like this place. But what drew the final straw was what happens next. The receipt gets printed, the confusion on the discount sign, and then we pay it. I’m not sure how this happens when the machine tells you the change to give customers but the wrong change was given. We were owed more than what we were given. We confusingly mentioned about the wrong change and showed how much he gave us. He fumbled about with the machine and even asked how much they owe us. We showed the change we were given and the receipt. He continued to fumble about and said something was hard to understand again. It sounded like the machine won’t open up again? Maybe unless it’s to take an order? It took us maybe 5 minutes to sort it out and when we did, he went into the kitchen and raised his voice. While I’m not fluent in the language, I did understand he was talking about a customer and he looked at us while saying it, so it’s my guess he was talking about us. He was loud to the point the kitchen staff and staff outside heard and laughed. The whole experience was the last time I will come here and order. I don’t want to eat from a place where I feel unwelcome.
Endured the worst service today. A discourteous, short server, seemingly of Indian descent, declined our request for a heater-side seat in an empty restaurant. Later, he impolitely refused restroom access despite other customers using the inside bathroom, scolding another employee who suggested it. Despite being regular, generous tippers, this unexpected disrespect was disheartening. Servers should prioritize customer respect; it's regrettable our experience deteriorated. I suggest the owner review security footage to gauge potential losses. Though I usually bring a large group, I won't return due to one server's inappropriate behavior. He just didn't seem like he was enjoying being a server there which is pretty sad.
Ordered a drink and the server didn't give me back the full change. When I asked him for it he gave me half the amount. When I asked him where was the rest of the change was, the guy has the audacity to give me an attitude. Both times I went to dine in, the service was horrible. Waiters will pretend not to see you. I gave this place too many chances. There are much better places to get Momo's around woodside.
Walked in after a long day. Service and the cost was very disappointing. They added service fee which was 15% of the actual cost. Additionally, added card fee of 3%. Raised the price of the food for $20+ overall.
It was my first visit n had the worst experience. Service was pathetic. The server is mostly hanging with TV remote. I called him thrice to take our order but he kept browsing channels. He brought the food , forget the condiments, never brought or asked for any water or any drinks. Thali doesn't look fresh , all microwaved n served. Went to counter to pay the bill , after payment I came to know there was service charge almost 20% of the bill. This literally Rob customer without giving anything. I will never visit again, I told most of the friends about this too. Many of them had same experience n they had stop visiting here.
Every time I order Jhol momo, they forget the jhol. It has happened to me 3 times now. When called, they say they can't do anything about it, and that "I should walk back to get the jhol if I live nearby" Horrible customer service. Only reason I order from here, because they are near my house. Honestly, go to Jackson Heights for Nepalese restaurants. They will have better sevice, menu, response – probably everything better than this place.
We had 2 chicken Thali The food is good but less quantity and costly… not even that they charged a lot… I dunno the tax is more than the cost of 1 thali… the waiter didnt even come .. he took a lot of time .. I think this restaurant need to hire more waiters and waitresses.. coz the food is good … tasty .. but very expensive… never coming here again..
I’ve always enjoyed the food at this restaurant and often visit with friends. The meals are delicious, and the staff are friendly and hardworking. However, I was really disappointed to learn that customer tips go to the owner instead of the staff. It’s upsetting to know those who work so hard aren’t getting the appreciation they deserve. I hope this policy changes, as good food should come with fair treatment of employees.
Was here for dinner for two last night . This place has got to be a joke . No transparency or so what so ever. Charges 15% service fee without disclosing. Then on top of that had the audacity to sneakily charge 3-4% as credit card processing fees. Would have been totally fine if everything was disclosed upfront. The way they want about it left a very bad taste in my mouth. My first and the last time here. Beware!
I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment. I came all the way from Long Island, only to be met with unprofessional service. Two staff members, one of whom identified herself as Babita or Sabita, mishandled my order. When I tried to address the issue, they responded with an unhelpful and argumentative attitude. The overall customer service was unacceptable, and the quality of the food did not meet expectations. I would not recommend this place based on my visit.
I recently dined at this restaurant and was very disappointed with my experience. The service was lackluster; despite it not being busy, our server barely checked in on us. To add to my frustration, they included a service fee (15%)without any prior notice, which felt both sneaky and unprofessional. On top of that, they charged an additional fee for credit card payments—something I have never encountered in my many dining experiences. This approach to customer service is concerning and disappointing. Will be the last time visiting the restaurant indeed.!!
We ordered a bowl of thukpa it was really bad, I recommend to everyone not to eat thukpa at this restaurant,,,
We ordered several food items. Some were good and others were horrible. It was very cold inside the restaurant and we had to leave; although we would have stayed and had couple drinks more. The owner didn’t care. Customer service is very poor. I wouldn’t go there again.
I strongly advise checking your bill before making payment. Recently, I encountered deceptive behavior at this restaurant where I was overcharged. Firstly, gratuity was added to the bill without my knowledge (even for a party of two), and I wasn't provided an itemized bill. And I was tricked into adding an additional tip to the total that already included gratuity. The workers hesitated to give the itemized bill despite multiple requests. They printed out the itemized bill only after I walked to the counter and raised my voice a little. Under New York law, restaurants must conspicuously disclose any service charges before ordering, which wasn't done here. Secondly, the final amount on the itemized bill, including gratuity and taxes, didn't match what was charged to my card. This discrepancy raises concerns, potentially explaining their reluctance to provide the itemized bill promptly. As a reviewer with over 45 million views on Google, I typically enjoy supporting local businesses with positive reviews. However, such deceptive and illegal behaviors must be addressed for the betterment of the community and the establishment itself.
We came first, but they brought our food last. The service was not good — honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at this restaurant. We literally waited around 20 minutes for our thakali. The people who came after us already got their thakali, but we still hadn’t received ours.
Customer service here is absolutely disappointing. I always loved their goat sukuti thali and last time we ordered chicken and goat sukuti thali, but the rice was undercooked. When we told the server, she said “everyone else is eating the same rice,” as if we were lying. Instead of replacing the rice, she came with a bowl and told us to move the uncooked rice aside so she could pour on side. She just said “aaja busy vako xa tesai le”. This isn’t the first time either. Last visit, the same lady removed my plate before I had even finished eating. Totally disappointing.
To say this was the worst dumpling I’ve ever had would be an understatement. It was a complete and utter failure on every level — from texture to taste to presentation. No amount of dipping sauce could save it. If you're a fan of dumplings, steer clear of this disaster. It’s best left forgotten… or better yet, buried. Nepali people shouldn't visit this place for dumpling. Looks like chinese dumpling with fat skin and not meat inside.
This place is NOT allergen/veg friendly!!! Our waitress was very unknowledgeable about the dishes when we asked for recommendations, she basically read the menu back to us. I also found an unidentifiable chunk of meat in my vegetable soup, after mentioning to the waitress several times that i needed a dish with no meat in it. Not to mention the noodle soup itself was completely mediocre. Thankfully we ordered chili momo as well so i was able to put some of the sauce from that into my soup to give it some flavor. The momos were the only *decent* part of our meal, but i have still had better ones in Sunnyside. Would not come back. There was also another man that was working that seemed very nice, maybe the owner?, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save our visit. Please educate your servers on the importance of food safety and allergens as well as the difference between the dishes.
