Short waits on a Saturday because few were using the fast passes. Good ride operations. Good cleanliness. We absolutely loved Adirondack Outlaw. We rode about 5 good rides in less than 3 hours, which is relatively speaking good for a Halloweekend.
Awesome experience!! We rather do the 3 hours drive to make it to great escape than going to our local six flags park La ronde. Easy parking, easy access, no wait time, fun staff. Only down side is the overpriced mediocre food. But they let you go in and out the park as you like so it's not a big fuss .
If you aren't a hardcore thrill seeker, but want to be able to drop in real quick with the kids (even on a weekend) and experience virtually zero lines for anything, this is the place. My kids are first time roller coaster riders, having recently finally met the height requirements, and they absolutely love it. The silver membership is what we have, and this park's membership is cheaper than some others, but we still have the ability to go to any park with our passes. Highly affordable, and pays for itself if you go at least twice. Park is clean, small, no stress. I'm not worried I'm going to lose my kids in the crowd or anything. We will probably go once or twice a month, and don't really plan on doing an "all day" trip. I'm fine with a few hours and then on the way home talking about what we did, and what we want to do next time. Maybe it's just me, but I love this place.
We are Currently here and having a blast!! All of the rides are open, and water park. You can get the best price on tickets if you go through the website. I see many reviews complaining about the food. Obviously it's a theme park, you don't come here for fine dining. There are many restaurants in the area, and delicious "Hurricane Grill" right across the road.
We are regular visitors to the New Jersey Six Flags but this was our first trip to Great Escape and we loved it! This amusement park is designed so well and kids will love it. Adults can have an amazing time too.. high thrill rides, and great options for food. There was about 10-15 minutes of waiting time for each ride which wasn't bad for a holiday week. Our favourite rides were Comet, Flashback and Adirondack outlaw. The train and boat rides were super cute! The best part about this park is that the theme park and water park are connected and you can enjoy the best of both worlds, so carry your swimwear! Parking is a little far away and you'll have to walk from there to the theme park.
This is a great park! This park is fun for everyone, and it is the most family friendly Six Flags I've visited. There are plenty of rides and activities for kids. We loved the multiple waterparks. We visited on a Friday morning right before a thunderstorm, so there was no wait to enter the park and the lines were very short, which we enjoyed. We had a great time here. The Bobcat was my favorite!
We had an amazing time at Six Flags Great Escape on our visit on August 12th. As a family with a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1-year-old, we found it to be the perfect size for our kids, though the 1-year-old was a little too young for most of the attractions. My kids absolutely loved exploring all of the little storybook houses scattered throughout the park. It was a really unique feature that kept them entertained for hours. It was also incredibly convenient that the park was within walking distance of the Great Escape Lodge, where we were staying. We're used to going to Dorney Park, and while Six Flags Great Escape is a lot smaller in comparison, you still need a full day to explore everything. My daughter and I had a blast on some of the bigger rides, like the Bobcat. We also made our way to the water park, which was a huge hit with the kids, who loved the large pirate ship play area with its two slides. They couldn't get enough of them! Our only wish is that the park and especially the water park were open a little later. There just wasn't enough time to do everything we wanted to in the water park. Next time, we'll definitely have to plan for a two-day trip to make sure we can do it all. We highly recommend Six Flags Great Escape as a fun-filled day out for families with young children!
Love the rides and water park options. Many great coasters and water slides. Too busy having fun to snap tons of pics but worth the visit. Tickets priced accordingly.. Wish it stayed open a bit longer or opened a bit earlier. But short lines and good staffing. Food prices way too steep though.
Our family has been visiting The Great Escape for many years. We love coming in the fall for Fright Fest. I would definitely still recommend this but it has been going downhill. The amount of characters is less, the amount of rides and activities is less. Trick or treating for the younger ones is very small. Hours open are shorter. Security are really not nice and should be looked into. Staff working with characters and doing shows were incredible, very good with drawing people in and very friendly. Concession and ride staff were also great. The train conductor was great, you could tell he enjoyed his job.
We visited Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, NY, with the kids, and the experience was mixed. Parking is far from the entrance with no shuttle, and tickets for our family of five would have been over $600 at the booth—twice the online price—so we had to stand in the blazing sun trying to buy them on our phones, with no benches or shade nearby. The park felt dated, some rides were in questionable condition, and lines to the rides that were worth your while were long. Certain rides also cost extra, music was extremely loud, and seating and shade were very limited. Younger kids enjoyed the kiddie rides and the new wooden roller coaster, but older kids and adults found the park small and underwhelming. Bathrooms were okay, and food and drinks were overpriced. It was supposedly Octoberfest with a giant beer mug display, and while we did not expect beer at the park, we did hope to see the German food. Apparently Octoberfest was just meant the giant beer display and blasting German folk songs, that’s it, nothing else. It seemed strange. Overall, it might work for a quick one-day trip or as part of a Lake George visit, but for the price and experience, we wouldn’t recommend a dedicated theme park trip. Perhaps it’s because we visited plenty of other theme parks and have something to compare this one to but that’s the feeling we left with.
In the summer, this park may have 4 or 5 star potential. But on a Saturday in late May, with many attractions closed, low staff causing sluggish operations, and generally abysmal food options (typical for Six Flags Properties), this park sits at a solid "okay". It's not a bad place to spend an afternoon, though - but that is all you'll need to experience it all. I did appreciate some theming, especially in the Ghost Town area. There's a bit of history on display which makes the park feel more "quaint" than "small". Check it out if you're in the area but I wouldn't prioritize it over the other New England options.
I have been attending this park since the 70's little has changed in that time except for the quality of the park. The food has become insanely expensive (13 dollars for a small slice of pizza), and the food is just straight up terrible. Make sure you purchase the ticket that includes food, beverages, and parking. As parking by itself is 30 bucks . Many areas of the park are run down and in a state of disrepair. Many other areas are closed and appear abandoned. Almost every item needs paint and repairs. Attended the park on a weekday, and the lines for the rides were very reasonable and never had to wait more than 10 minutes to ride anything. That may be very different on a weekend. Bring the kids they will love it despite its shortcomings. Make sure to bring swimsuits and towels, plenty of cash. Everything is very expensive.
Would be better if the rides were actually working. Only 1 of 14 water slides were working. One third of the thrill rides were not open. Paid 16.99 for a cold slice of pizza and 2 hard breads ticks, no drink thats extra. Rip off, kids had a better time the next day down the road at Fun Spot for a fraction of the price.
Not worth the 1 star. Was served raw chicken at the grill in water park. Did not receive an apology or my money back. Instead was handed a basket with burned chicken fingers. Both options were not edible. Over priced admission tickets for the quality of water park. Paid $180 for a cabana and it was completely not worth it. Did not have a choice to rent a cabana as there were not enough seats nor are the lockers big enough to fit all your stuff. Complimentary water or soft drinks would be appreciated with the price of renting a cabana. Most of the staff we came in contact with were rude and not a smile in sight on their faces. On my first day of the visit the not so nice kid behind the counter at gift shop scanned one of my tickets for the next day which posed an issue the next when I stupidly returned hoping it how some how got better over night. The bathrooms and showers in water park were dirty. Dirty diapers on the floor. The changing rooms are less then ideal and do not offer as much privacy as you need. The stalls have gaps in between doors and the stall wall and not to mention the stall walls do not come all the way down to the floor so the public can see you putting your underwear on. I would not recommend this water park nor will I be returning. Update after posting my initial review: Someone from Six Flags did reach out to me via email but after a couple of pointless emails I am still left dissatisfied! I was not offered a refund, if not for part of my stay , at least for the over priced raw chicken I was served. I stand by my original review and would return and DO NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone. Hershey Lodge has a beautiful indoor water park and the service and on site restaurants are always great. You know what they say, you get what you pay for !
Me and my family were having an excellent time enjoying fright night when we witnessed one of the employees treat a little child like a criminal and separate him from his family. While waiting in line for over an hour for a ride the child in front of left the line to use the restroom. When he returned it had turned 9 and the employee refused to allow him to get back in the line to join his family (after already waiting an hour) because the line has closed. Multiple employees were called over and all refused to allow this little child back in line. The lack of customer service is disheartening to say the least. If this is how children, families and customers are treated I will make sure me and my family do not come back.
recently visited The Great Escape for the first time in many years and will not be returning. The park is significantly overpriced for the poor experience provided. My primary issues: • Food Quality: I paid nearly $30 for a meal that was cold and comparable to low-quality frozen food. The value for money is simply not there. • Customer Service & Accessibility: I was denied a lid and straw for a $7.00 fountain drink. When I explained that my companion has shaky hands and could not safely drink from the open cup, I requested a simple, small cup to manage the drink in smaller portions. This request was refused by the staff member. To be handed an open cup and then denied a basic accommodation to safely consume the paid product is unacceptable customer service. I was deeply disappointed by the quality of the park and the lack of basic employee consideration. I strongly advise management to review both food quality standards and staff training regarding customer accommodation
