I joined several friends for the first time at Cucciilo Terrazza. The bread was delicious. I ordered spaghetti pomodore with a meatball. The food was great but the portion was smaller than I'm accustomed to. We finished the evening with Tiramusu and coffee. Beautiful atmosphere.
Good for a date night spot. I came with friends with a reservation, so I cannot comment on wait time. Very elegant decorations and calm atmosphere. We ordered mocktails (I unfortunately don’t remember which ones exact). But I do remember MY entree. If you come here you HAVE TO try the Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Rigatoni. It was delicious and filling and I sometimes dream about it. However, I would not recommend taking it back home and reheating it. You have to eat it then and there for the best flavors. The servers there are also the sweetest and funniest people you’ll meet.
We had a pretty pleasant experience at Cucciolo. The service was amazing deifnelty 5 stars! All the food was pretty good quality and tasty. My favorite was the Polpette which I had as a meal with the mushroom risotto. The octopus was probably one of the best I've had but pretty expensive for 1 tentacle. My only issue was the limitations for kids food, this place is better suited for adults specially due to the cost.
Came for Sunday brunch and it was fantastic! Some of the best vodka pasta I have had. Definitely will be back in the future
The most amazing Italian food we have had . They didn’t have any tables and nor did we make any reservations. But looking at our baby they were kind enough to accommodate us and the dishes suggested by our host were amazing.
Cucciolo Terrazza - A Birthday Celebration to Remember!" My friend and I decided to celebrate our birthdays at Cucciolo Terrazza, and what an incredible choice it was! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like royalty. We were fortunate to have Jadon as our server. His expertise in guiding us through the menu and making outstanding recommendations truly made our experience unforgettable. Our feast consisted of ARANCINI, CAESAR SALAD, GOAT CHEESE FLATBREAD, WILD BOAR AGNOLOTTI, CATCH OF THE DAY, and, of course, Cannoli for dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ARANCINI and WILD BOAR AGNOLOTTI were standouts - absolute must-tries! For drinks, we opted for coffee and vodka, which complemented our meal perfectly. To top it off, the warm and attentive service from the entire staff was exceptional. Their genuine care and hospitality made our celebration even more special. A huge thank you to Jadon and the rest of the Cucciolo Terrazza team for making our birthdays truly memorable! 🥳 I recently discovered that Mr. Andrew is the general manager of Cucciolo Terrazza. A huge shout-out to him and his entire team for their exceptional professionalism during my birthday celebration. Even though I was just passing through, they made me feel like a valued regular. Their dedication to providing outstanding service truly sets them apart. Thank you, Andrew and the entire Cucciolo Terrazza team! P.S. When you visit, be sure to ask for Jadon and let him know that young man with all the food reviews sent you! You won't regret it!
Absolutely loved this new, fresh take on Italian here in Raleigh. The atmosphere is dramatic and inviting, but not suffocating. The wait staff is pleasant and prompt and willing to answer any questions about the menu. Our waiter knew the menu by heart and had some fantastic recommendations. Out of all the dishes we had, the best by far were the wild boar pasta and the seared octopus. I’ve never had anything like these two dishes before! There were a lot of people there, but it didn’t feel crowded and the bar stayed busy the whole time we were there. Their menu does change, so I recommend you go soon before some of those fantastic dishes are gone.
Showed up last minute early on Saturday and was happily greeted and sat at the high top. Our entire party of 5 enjoyed our meals and had excellent service from our server who was also handling the bar area! The staff made wonderful suggestions for our meal even crafted a couple of drinks to meet our palate preferences. They were careful with allergies of members of our party. Thanks for a lovely meal!
Delicious brunch! I had the Tuscan scramble and everything was well seasoned and delicious. Waiter was great- on top of it but not obnoxious. We unfortunately were the only table in the entire restaurant from 11:15-12:45 though…. Hopefully people hear of the high quality and it does well!
Very pleasant ambience and a nice set of decors. The refined Italian dishes we shared were on par with some of the best around. The highly recommended braised octopus was the peak tasting experience for us. Make sure to poke your head into their wine room. It's simply stunning.
Beautiful atmosphere for Girls Night Out, First Date or Birthday. The drinks were delicious but not strong took about 2 $18 drinks. Waited almost 45 minutes for 4 dishes to come out. Although we were getting antsy about the food prep time.. the food was hot, fresh, delicious and even better as leftovers. I can understand why it took some time to cook. I would recommend an appetizer to kill some time.
Update - Ive taken out and also dined in a second time. The food and service is always amazing. BUT please tell the hostess to be friendly and smile at the guests, donno why she is so not hospitable. Our first time here. Very modern setting - perfect atmosphere for a date. We had the arancini for appetizer. It was pretty good but some of the pieces looked and tasted different when cut open. For entree, we had Pasta and Pork. It was a long wait but kinda worth it. The pork was a little salty for my taste though. The pasta was really good. For dessert, we had the Pumpkin Tiramisu. This was definitely the highlight of the night - so yum! The drinks were nice as well. The service was amazing - our server was super sweet and helpful and she definitely cheered us up. Will definitely come back.
Most perfect atmosphere for anyone looking to unwind in a quiet, beautiful, welcoming space! And the food, literally the best Italian restaurant ever! The staff was also wonderful. My fiance arranged to propose to me in the restaurant, halfway through dinner, and our wait staff and host assisted him in making that happen, which I found to be extremely thoughtful! Modern vibes, great food, amazing people! Bello!
I went today for the first time for their brunch hour and let me say the food was phenomenal. Service was absolutely amazing and the drinks were outstanding. The vibe and atmosphere was perfect. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!
The staff was excellent, my server who had a name like a bird (but I can’t remember) was great, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was good the only little minus is that my pasta had too much pepper and that didn’t set well with me. But other than that everything was great, the ambience the plates the decor. The staff made it a feel good place!
Wow. My sister and I were visiting from out of town and came here on a whim. Everything from the moment we sat down to when we left was absolutely incredible. Our server, Hannah, was probably one of if not the best servers I've had in a long time. She was so friendly, informative, and gave great recommendations. My sister is a vegetarian and I had to have the beef carpaccio, so Hannah recommended which pastas were lighter since I would be eating it myself. We didn't plan on going back to our airbnb afterwards so I didn't want to waste any food. That wasn't a problem. I was torn between the Lobster Ravioli and the Wild Boar Agnolotti, but she convinced me to have the Wild Boar and wow. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The carpaccio was also light, and extremely tasty. My sister got the spicy vodka tomato rigatoni and she also thought it was the best pasta she had ever had. For dessert she told us about a special semifreddo with orange zest and we both didn't hesitate to say yes. It was the perfect size and tasted like a creamsicle and was a great way to end the meal. On the drinks side, we ordered an espresso martini and negroni, both made to perfection. I also told Hannah my wine preferences and she brought over a Nebbiolo the bartender suggested, which was again, perfect. The only downside is that I don't live in Raleigh and can't frequent this place! Thank you to Hannah and all the staff for making a normal night out extra special. I can't wait to return.
Love the atmosphere of this place. Reminds me my trip to Italy. ✨ Food and drinks were good, seafood risotto was a bit salty, but not a big deal for me. This small spicy pizza stole my heart❤️ We definitely will come back again!
We got there a little earlier than our reservation, but they were able to seat us right away. Smaller menu, but everything sounded great. If I were to “complain” at all, there were only 3 appetizer choices and they were sold out of 2 of them. Not ideal, but it’s a new restaurant working out the kinks.. totally understandable! We ordered almost every pasta on the menu just to try everything. The portions are not huge, so I would recommend if you’re just ordering dinner, to order two pastas or maybe a smaller plate to go with your pasta. We did ask for bread and they were able to accommodate, I don’t think they normally do this because it did take almost 25 mins.. but we did still get it. It was nice and toasty — we ended up dipping it in one of the pasta sauces. Cocktails were delish and the presentation was on point. The restaurant was extremely loud and gave off a girls night vibe— which we loved. Service was great— not very fast, but we weren’t in a rush. It’s definitely more of a chill, relax, take your time eating type of place. We celebrated two birthdays and they brought out two kinds of desserts with candles. Super cute!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cucciolo Terazza Italian restaurant in North Hills for a lovely dinner date with my husband, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The ambience is exceptionally beautiful. The food at Cucciolo Terazza was simply outstanding. Every dish we ordered was a delight to the taste buds. The spinach ravioli was cooked to perfection, with a flavorful filling and a delectable sauce that complemented it beautifully. The vodka penne pasta was rich and creamy, while the Archini balls were crispy on the outside and incredibly savory on the inside. We also couldn't resist trying the fried Italian doughnut, which was a delightful treat that left us wanting more. Not only was the food excellent, but the plating was also impeccable. Each dish was presented with great attention to detail, and it truly added to the overall dining experience. It was clear that the chefs at Cucciolo Terazza take great pride in their craft. The customer service we received throughout the evening from Flower and Kat were exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. From their recommendations to their timely service, we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. Lastly, I must mention the convenience of valet parking. It made our visit to Cucciolo Terazza even more enjoyable, as we didn't have to worry about finding parking in a crowded area. Overall, our dinner at Cucciolo Terazza Italian restaurant was a delightful and memorable experience. The delicious food, friendly staff, impeccable customer service, beautiful plating, and convenient valet parking all contributed to a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional Italian dining experience in North Hills.
Cucciolo Terrazza is a stunning, new restaurant in Raleigh! We have been long-time fans of sister restaurant in Durham, and couldn’t wait to try the North Hills spot. It did not disappoint - we went twice in one week! Beautiful, stylish, trendy space. Friendly service and excellent food. The meatball appetizer, branzino entree, and pasta dishes were on point. Amazing cocktails as well. So much attention to detail! Will be back!
This place is fantastic! I heard via word of mouth that Cucciolo Terrazzo was really good, so I was excited when we had the chance to go. Expectations were high, but the amazing staff and courses definitely exceeded them. The ambiance and style of the restaurant is really cool and their wine room for private events is definitely a step up. Highly recommend if you are celebrating a special occasion or just want a private space for a small group. We started out with some apps and decided to be adventurous with the braised octopus; hands down my favorite dish of the night! It wasn't rubbery, the crunch was perfect, and the sauce was divine. We also got the seafood caprese. I don't care for raw tomatoes that much, but the quality of the tomatoes, paired with the mozzarella mouse and seafood, made it a delicious option. Highly recommend. For the main course we got the wild boar spinach pasta dish and the veal ossobuco. Really enjoyable main meals. The veal was a rich dish so having it after the lighter apps was perfect. We also asked for a wine pairing for the main course and they did a great job with the Brunello di Montalcino. They really know their wines! For desert, we had their chocolate mousse. The only downside was that we were both really full due to everything else being so good, so we weren't able to finish it. All in all it was a great night out. Their staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive to anything we needed. Between that and the delicious courses, I highly recommend going to Cucciolo Terrazza when you want a nice night out!
Ate there last night. Service was wonderful, food was seasoned perfectly and portions just right! We had the gorgonzola black garlic Alfredo with added chicken and prosciutto, and the wild boar Agnolotti. One of the bartenders was our waitress for the evening and she was great, offered up some great suggestions and mixed us tasty custom cocktails. We'll be back!
We went to Cucciolo to celebrate a birthday so we spent more than we could have. It was delicious! I got the butter chicken sostanza and it was amazing! I had leftovers the next day and it was just as delicious. We enjoyed the charcuterie board and a few bottles of Italian wine. My food came out a few minutes after my friends received theirs. I wasn't even upset, but the manager came out to apologize and gave us dessert on the house! And thank goodness because that tiramasu was *chef's kiss.* The service was impeccable, food delicious, ambience was lovely, and the experience was top notch!
Got to enjoy a great brunch there today. Such flavorful food and a very unique brunch menu, definite Italian based. Beautiful dishes and excellent service all around. A gem in Raleigh
We do not have kids and thus have the luxury of eating out a lot. We each take notice of many aspects of a restaurant, often hers being different than of mine but of course no less valuable. I’ll start off with saying that this is a new restaurant and as an upscale restaurant, news travels fast…either you are an early hit or it is clear you’re destined to fail. Tonight, the restaurant was packed but what was glorious for us, we made our reservation hours before coming in. Few things frustrate me more than being told, “ohh If you don’t book that place at least a month in advance, you’ll never get in”. Not to suggest I want to be able to walk in at any time and get a table but it is frustrating not being able to have some spontaneity. I also hate living in a city where everyone knows what the best restaurants are and when there aren’t many, those establishments are impossible to get into. So the ambiance, it is vibrant and modern but not cold. Italian food by nature, at least for me, is comfort food, so maybe we walked in already feeling like we were coming home for the holidays. Having said that, the ceilings are high, the lighting fixtures were varied throughout and interestingly, several were intentionally cut off. I assume they adjusted the lights they cut on based on the mood they were wanting to establish. Half of the restaurant is made up of glass windows and the floor is concrete, as a result it is a bit loud. For some that may pose a problem and I suspect they’ll have to invest in some measures to reduce the noise at some stage. Brewery Bhavana had to do the same. The ceilings are high which does help but what my lady pointed out that I hadn’t identified was in the room temperature. We have all eaten at places where there was a significant difference in the experience based on where you sat. Here, the air ducts are so high up that you cannot feel any air movement, the air in the room is calm and comfortable throughout. If you are alone or arrive early, there is a nice sized bar you can enjoy. They have a nice selection of draft as well as bottled/canned beers, signature cocktails and of course wine…new world and old. As for the food, based on our experience tonight, this is now our favorite spot. Our most expensive nights out are always at steak restaurants and often the sentiment is that we could cook a steak of equal calibre at home, so why bother. The biggest difference here was that we got to have so much more by way of unique dishes. We split the Caesar salad which was homemade in every respect. We then split both the wild boar agnolotti and the summer ravioli. Typically, I do not order ravioli or any stuffed pasta variety being that the contents are usually hard to distinguish and rarely stand out from the overwhelming flavor of the sauce they are in or worse, just from the pasta it is held in. Both of these pasta dishes were fantastic. The wild boar was superb and is a must in my opinion. For our “Secondi” we had their bone in ribeye. Being that Italian places rarely offer more than one or two options when it comes to beef cuts, it has been my experience that they rarely can stand up to the likes of a high end steak restaurant…not here. For starters, the steak isn’t served a la carte, forcing you to buy over sized side portions that not only aren’t complementary of the steak but also are not meant for one. It came with beautiful potatoes and broccoli as the picture reflects. The cut of beef was top notch, aged and cooked exactly as requested. I am realizing this is the longest review I have ever written, so I’ll bring it to a close but the desserts we had were on par with every other course. Ours were selected by the chef, so I can’t give you the names other than to say that we brought home leftovers from every course but dessert…those dishes returned to the kitchen bare.
Italian food is hard to come by in the Triangle and this is the best in my opinion. We appreciated Daniel, our server for his sense of humor and warm hospitality. It made for a memorable evening and the whole staff made it possible.
Fabulous little gem in Raleigh. The atmosphere was bright and modern. Our server was great, the manager even checked in personally which was a nice touch. They have a phenomenal wine selection, and their Cosmo was 10/10. Our table shared a few different dishes that were all delicious, but the squash arancini and the tomato rigatoni really stood out. Will definitely visit again when I’m in the area!
Everything we ordered from the wine and cocktails to the food was fantastic. Ordered the Polpette as an app. My wife had the Vodka cream pasta and I had the venison lasagna (ridiculously good). Pana cotta for dessert. Everything was delicious and came out of the kitchen really quickly. Even our server was awesome. Super knowledgeable about the menu and personable. Checked on us regularly but wasnt a pest. It was our anniversary and not only did the host and our server acknowledge and congratulate us, the manager even brought over 2 glasses of champagne on the house to celebrate the occasion. Absolutely a 5 star experience and we will be back.
Came here for my friends birthday had Skylar as our server! And he was absolutely wonderful and perfectly fit into the vibe we had for the night!!!! The food was outstanding, the drinks were amazing, and the desert was phenomenal will definitely be coming back!!!
Dinner was simply superb. From the appetizer, to the salad, to our two pastas, to dessert. Service was impeccable, our waiter was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and affable. Our pastas were the best I have had in a very long time, and most certainly the best in Raleigh. Would give 10 stars if I could. New favorite place in Raleigh.
First time there today for brunch. The food is very, very good. They forgot about our entrees, so we waited a while, but the manager totally owned it and gave us a discount without us asking. Other than the delay, the service and food were excellent. Burrata salad in the picture, just excellent! We will go back!
First time, but not the last. Delicious food and creative menu. The prices are high, but the portions are good - not too much so you leave with a box, but enough to justify the price. Pasta tasted handmade. Octopus cooked to perfection. There are a couple areas for improvement - the wait station next to kitchen and bathroom - hide it!! And the music the night we were there was a distraction from the elegant vibe they are trying to create with a high end food and wine menu. Great service by Daniel.
I went there yesterday for lunch. I tried a couple specialty cocktails and had the godfather burger. This place has a nice vibe and excellent service. Out of all the restaurants in North Hills this restaurant serves the best burger.
This place is an amazing experience with phenomenal food. Everyone there was so friendly and had great suggestions for my meal. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends and family!
This was a major win for us. The food was outstanding!!!!!! Excellent menu options, thoughtful wine selections and truly a FAB atmosphere. Everything on point, beautiful dishes, quality table appointments and bold espresso. Service excellent. See you soon.
Excellent dinner and service. The ahi crudo and ravioli OUTSTANDING and wine choices were on point. Was hoping for a homemade limoncello otherwise this was a wonderful meal.
We had a Sunday night reservation here and it was good. We only ordered pastas and didn’t try any of the meat entrees. The pastas were good and the atmosphere was nice. I would go again but it wasn’t a place that was super different than other nice Italian places.
Cucciolo Terrazza is quite easily my new favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. The ambiance is brilliant, the food/wine menu is superb and the Tiramisu is perfection. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant as well. The only downside is that they consistently refuse to answer the phone during business hours; so if you need to make an inquiry or reservation for a large party ... good luck. Otherwise, no complaints.
It was a hot and warm Wednesday evening. We wanted to have a nice work team dinner. Cucciolo was the restaurant of choice. Located in the bustling North Hills, this fine dining Italian restaurant is large with a huge sign you can’t miss upon entry we were greeted by a hostess who sat us quickly. The decor and ambiance certainly matches fine dining at its finest. They have a good sized menu, that is not overwhelming. Plenty of appetizers and entree choices. The pricing is also reasonable for the type of restaurant you go into. We ordered arancini to start, it was cooked well and had a tasty sauce to go with. For my entree I had the Elk Bolognese, it was very hearty. I had a old fashioned to go with my meal, it was one of the better old fashioned’s I’ve had at a restaurant. Great spot for any celebration, birthday, anniversary.
The atmosphere feels crisp and clean and alive. I was quickly greeted upon arrival and chose the complimentary valet parking. I was seated immediatelt and I appeared to be one of the first patrons to this restaurant that serves dinner only. Offered some water and sliced bread with an olive oil mix. It was tasty. The service was a bit slow and I waited nearly 30 minuets to get my ordered entree. But no worries, this should mean I would get pipping hot food and freshly made pasta. Besides for my plate being left at the table while I scattered to the restroom after a long wait, the service was genuine. The manager came and apologized and offered to correct the oversight. NOW THE FOOD 🥘 was AMAZING!!!! Exactly what I expect in a fine dining establishment and especially those only operable for dinner. The drinks 🍸 were just as amazing and had me feeling mello!! That bar tender had some shake on him . No worries, I shall be back and know my 4 star was an introduction to a 5 star. Remember good people, smile often, do good, and enjoy life!!!!
The service was great. The unfortunate part is that they were out of the dishes that we wanted. Overall, the food was too salty and also it didn't state the steak would be on the spicy side. I'm fine with spice but if you aren't, then this would have been an unwelcome surprise.
The take home message here is GET THE DONUTS. Food was very good. The steak was the absolute best it was PERFECTLY cooked. I liked vs loved because these are not your traditional brunch options and though great quality is also pricey, so know that before going - I did have to look up about 75% of the menu options.
I visited this place 3 times in one week! The Crab and Shrimp Agnolotti brought me back! Cucciolo is a modern restaurant nestled in the park district of North Hills. Even though the restaurant has beautiful floor to ceiling windows, it can be somewhat discreet because it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the other restaurants in this area. The decor is very minimalist and airy. The restaurant was crowded for a mid week evening but the employees were very attentive and the service didn’t fall by the wayside. My food arrived timely between each item. The Agnolotti dish is absolutely delicious. I also ordered Zucchini Frites and the Tiramisu. The frites were light and crispy and the tiramisu was tasty. The only complaint is the noise level. The design of the restaurant with the concrete floors, lack of table linen and high open ceilings makes it difficult to to have an intimate low tone conversation. The restaurant can benefit from a restaurant acoustic engineer to help reduce the noise level.Overall, I would return only for an early dinner when the crowd is low.
Overall, I had a great experience dining here with my family. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance—modern yet warm and welcoming. Our waiter was fantastic: attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering all our questions, even recommending an excellent wine that we really enjoyed. As for the food, the portions were moderate, and while everything was well-prepared, I felt it lacked a bit of bold flavor. A touch more seasoning or larger servings would have elevated the meal. I do recommend this restaurant for the overall experience and service. However, if you're expecting to be completely wowed by the food alone, it might fall just short. That said, I’m hopeful it will continue to improve, and I look forward to giving it another try.
Food was very good and waiter was great. This restaurant does not understand bourbon or they are being shady. There were a few bourbons on their list that didn't match price and that I had never heard of. Turns out they misrepresent what they are serving so be careful.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary on a Monday night. I had a reservation, but it really wasn't that busy. We were seated right away, and our server was nice and attentive. We both got cocktails. I can't remember the name of mine. It was fine but not worth getting again. They give you bread with olive oil and vinegar, and it was good. We also got the arancini, which was delicious! They took a very long time with our entrees, and our server apologized for the wait. I wouldn't have minded having to wait so long, but when we did get them, my dish was not hot. I got the tagliatelle bolognese, and while the top was warm, as I kept eating it was cold. Meanwhile there was steam coming off my husband's dish. I have a feeling something went wrong and my dish was just sitting under a warming lamp. I might consider returning since the arancini was very good, and the bites I had of my husband's alfredo were delicious.
The atmosphere is nice. The waiter we had was nice as well. The pasta dishes doesn't come with a protein. They charged $12 to add shrimp to the pasta dish. There was only 4 shrimp added to the dish. Honestly, I wouldn't go back.
Service was really good. Drinks were good, I had a Raspberry fizz mocktail. the app (seasonal crostino) with blueberry and lemon ricotta was tasty. My husbands bolognese was really salty, mine was a spinach ravioli noodle with wild boar inside and it was just eh. It felt like it was missing something….Overall the food wasn’t great for the price. It’s also very noisy in there which they did warn us when they sat us. It wasn’t horrible at first but then a table with sat with some kids who may not have been happy with the choice of dinner places because they were very loud 😃 which in turn made everyone else start talking louder. My husband and I sat next to each other and felt like we were yelling while also saying “what” for half the meal. Not sure I would go back here again unless someone else insisted l
Food was incredibly mid. Got the Alfredo and the butter chicken. Both were eh. Alfredo was too heavy with way too much Parmesan. Butter chicken was literally soggy battered chicken served in a cast iron filled with butter. I’m still trying to get the salty taste of this out of my mouth and bowel 2 days later
My wife and I, along with some close friends, decided to give this restaurant a try. The ambiance was inviting, and based on the reviews we had read, I had high expectations that the food would match the setting. Unfortunately, while the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional — which is what you’d expect for the price point. The Boar’s Ravioli was easily the standout dish of the night. However, the mushroom risotto was too thick and lacked the creamy texture it should have had. I added shrimp to my dish, but they were small and underseasoned, missing that rich flavor I was hoping for. My wife’s chicken was served piping hot, while my meal arrived lukewarm. The service was fine but not impressive. Despite the restaurant not being busy, our drinks and food took longer than expected to arrive. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I expected much more.
