We get this place often for office lunches and they're always so accommodating of our large orders. The service at pick up is always fast and sometimes the staff will help you to the car if you have a large order like we usually do. If you're ever unsure what to get, our office loves the Redlands Lunch Special! I've never sat inside but the place looks clean and it looks like lots of happy customers send then holiday cards or photos that they put up behind the register. So cute haha.
It was my first time going to this sushi restaurant and there was no all you can eat. The service was very attentive and they would give you refills without you having to ask and wait for one. Our orders came out really so there wasn't a long wait. It's a very small restaurant but the atmosphere was great. When looking for parking it's located in the back of the place.
Favorite local sushi. We've been coming here since 2000. The owners are very nice & friendly. Sushi is consistently delicious. Really, we've enjoyed every roll we've ever ordered (including asking Sushi Chef to create any roll he would like to make). Our personal preference is to include a Double Double Roll (or any roll with spicy tuna/salmon) & a Crunch Roll with our order. Be sure to try their house salad with your order. Their "mysterious" green salad dressing (that turns your tongue green too) is a unique flavor & really good- they would seriously make a fortune if they would bottle and sell it! Seating available at sushi bar or tables.
Such good sushi! I got the snowcone roll and the flavors were amazing and just melted together. So delicious and can’t wait to come back again. Kind and quick service. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
We've gone here for about 20 years and love the food, the service, etc. The people who work here are wonderful.
Just got home from a wonderful lunch! we read the reviews and decided to run down to Redlands for lunch. My sushi selections were perfect, fresh and delicious. the tempura my parents shared was amazing. They also shared a generous crab and shrimp salad. Service was exceptional and overall made our birthday luncheon a great afternoon.
Always a friendly welcome, as well as, fresh sushi. I love the variety of creative rolls they have. It's a great local spot to ride your bike to and relax, or bring your family. It's my first choice for sushi in Redlands.
From the outside you might turn your nose up and not go inside but you'd be missing a delicious meal. The interior is comfortable and although small it is tastefully decorated. The rolls are delicious! We've tried many different ones and they are all delicious! If you're in the mood for something else try the boxes. They include four pieces of vegetable tempura and one shrimp, four pieces of roll, rice, and whatever protein you choose from the menu. If you like spicy food, I'd recommend the spicy chicken! If you haven't yet visited Tokyo Sushi be sure to stop in and give it a try you'll be happy you did. Beer and wine are also available.
Best place for sushi in Redlands. Hands down. I have yet to order a bad roll or sashimi.. can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Love this place.
Fantastic sushi. The quality of the fish and ingredients were fresh and tasty, highly recommended the spider roll.
I wish I could eat here every week! Did you people in Redlands know that Tokyo has been in this location for over 25 years!? Such good service, too. We highly recommend it.
Great for a local sushi shop. They're great with kids, and their small salad is da-bomb
I've been going here for 20 years and never left a review. The food has always been delicious. The staff has always been friendly. My mom had hip surgery, and they brought the food to us in the car. I will always go here.
Our first time here, with friends, was a grand experience. They don't have "all you can eat", which worked out good for us, because we were able to share and try each other's orders. We all had our favorites. The service was personal and quality. There were full tables of customers. But it wasn't overcrowded, and families were enjoying time together.
Local spot for amazing sushi! Redlands gem.
Love Tokyo Sushi!! Matt, his partners & all staff members are courteous, professional & always happy to see you. Call you by name & if they don't know it, they introduce themselves. Eat here almost once every week. Have yet to have had a bad meal experience. Would highly recommend to everyone who wants great food, excellent service & a welcoming place to enjoy a good meal. Thanks to you all! Riana 😊♥️
We always get good sushi and good service here. They also have a yummy Garlic Ponzu for dipping if you would like something besides soy sauce. We really liked the yellowtail roll with a lemon slice on top (not on menu). The lighting was nice and mellow, but unfortunately, it didn't do my pics any favors.
Very helpful young man went through the sushi choices to find things appropriate for gluten free family members. I really appreciated that immensely! So many places don't really care. Sushi was wonderful! Photo shows the GF choices layed out on a platter at home.
Delicious. Definitely want to come back. Tries the fresh fish and it was tasty The volcano roll was flavorful and perfect meat and rice ratio Will be back to try more like their bento boxes.
Unassuming ambiance. Great hole in the wall sushi. They put care into their service can’t remember which rolls we got, but they tasted great. Will stop by again.
Wonderful little hole-in-the-wall sushi place. Very fresh fish, the nigiri is some of best in Redlands. I highly recommend the crab tempura appetizer!
Yummy food. I’m always pleased when I visit here. The server is always the same woman, who is attentive and polite, and fast. I’ll be back again :)
This restaurant is Amazing!!!!! Everyone was so nice... the food was great and presented well definitely a 10 out of 10.
This place is amazing. The sushi is so fresh and delicious and They have exceptional service.
I highly recommend sitting at the bar for a more intimate experience.
Been coming here for years, always great. Tonight I tried the Crash roll for the first time, excellent! It was like an appetizer and a sushi roll all in one. The sushi chefs and staff are always great. Kirin beer mandatory.

Casual, family-friendly sushi restaurant. We had a great experience dining here. Food was good but what really impressed us was the service. The two servers on the floor were both very attentive and friendly and particularly helpful with our youngster; when he saw orange slices with his meal, he wanted more and the staff was happy to oblige. We left very satisfied with our experience and hope to be back soon!
Top-notch fish at a surprisingly low price. The chefs are dedicated to crafting meals that are as visually stunning as they are tasty. After your first visit, you’ll definitely be coming back for more—I certainly was!
It's a small place so you will wait when it's busy. Buy food it great and I have never had bad food. They have always gave me seasonal times for pickups. If you I u want great sushi come here.
Best sushi in town. Been coming here for years. Have tried most of the others in town but they don't compare. Staff are always pleasant.
Great food great chefs great service. Single dude or 1-2 people hit the bar in back real nice what’s up Matt
I fell in love with this place Nov of 24 when my friends took me here for my birthday. All of the sushi is fresh and crisp tasting. Everything is so yummy. The staff is always friendly. Super cozy inside. My favorite is the Japanese burrito and their shooting star roll are just 🤤🤤. Their spicy edamame is just the right amount of 🔥. Definitely recommend this place

This place is a well kept secret. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that's is small and there's not much ambiance. However it is spotlessly clean, has great service and even greater sushi. I highly recommend it with the above caveat!
Great Food all around. No wasabi on Nigiri as far as i remember. Fresh Sweet Shrimp is a VERY high reccomend if youre adventurous or just enjoy them like i do. The fried shrimp head is the best part. A little cramped but it is a small restaurant and is very intimate in regards to the staff and other patrons.
If could give a 4 1/2 stars would. Very nice find by me on my way home from dropping off our dog at the daughter's, so we can go on our trip. We live in Los Angeles. Very clean, nice decor.Servive was excellent. Friendly people Sushi was extremely fresh and tasty Price are incredible compared to Los Angeles. Know will make it a point to come back again
The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and engaging. The only issue we had was my roles were served and we waited and waited for my wife's rolls. I realize that her rolls were baked but having to wait over five minutes between the delivery of my order and her's was not good. In fact a couple that can into the restaurant after we ordered, at the adjacent table, received one of the same rolls my wife ordered be before she did. We will return again. Do miss this jewel.
Perfect dive sushi bar. Reasonable prices and wisecracking chefs for banter. I had the albecore, tuna and halibut sushi, a tiger roll and a Sapporo to wash it down. The local crowd already knows about this place. I took a seat at the bar so I didn't waste their table space, and I'll be back. Nice job, Tokyo!
Decided to take myself on a date!! The last time I tried this place it was during the quarantine in 2020. At that time you could only order to take out. So I was so pleasantly surprised when I could actually come in sit down and enjoy the environment. It was definitely warm and inviting there were a lot of tables full and a lot of people there laughing and eating which is always great. They didn't have very many sushi rolls that were riceless. There one I tried was called "SAKI BOMB" very great sauce!! I wanted to lick my plate after I was done eating! The spicy garlic edemanme proportion was perfect!! The garlic/chile combo was unique. The chili had a slight hint of sweet. It was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating it. The more you ate the hotter it got!! My mouth was on fire!! Since there were not a lot of riceless rolls I decided to try an appetizer I never had before. So I got a yellow fin fish. I thought it would be raw pieces, but this came out hot! After a couple mins of struggling with tearing pieces off the bone, I was brought a fork and with her hand motioned me how to use it!!! Lmao!! It was great food and a nice setting. A nice spot to have a nice casual conversation with a friend. I will go back and take my kids!!
This the place for affordable quality sushi lol I come here anytime I'm in the mood. I've tried other places but it doesn't compare to this place. I recommend the Tiger roll 🍣🍤🍶

Saddened to arrive at 8:20 pm to place a to go order. It closed at 9 with lights and open sign flashing. Only about three tables. I’m told last call was just called. I said your sign is still lit. She then shuts off the open sign. I get not coming in at 8:45 for a to go order but 40 minutes before closing?? Sad!
Had high hope for this place, maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Raw sushi was warm. The baked roll was pretty good but the raw salmon was awful. Sticky, warm and grayish looking. My boyfriend tried to tell the waitress to see if he could switch it for something different and she said "oh" and walked away. She never returned, so he ate the rice and left all the salmon on the plate. We paid with the hostest and left with him still hungry. Thursday 6pm 10/6/22
Food was blah. Lots of rice little fish 34 bucks out the door with food and tip, which was their lunch special two rolls and a three-piece salmon sushi. Based on ratings I was hoping for more but overall it was as the hospital food version of Sushi.
Servers were friendly, service was fast. The first sushi place I found close to me that serves lobster rolls however it was the smallest sushi roll I've ever seen! The price was the same as a full size roll but the rolls were a little bigger than a dime not even quarter sized! . I'm still spinning on how small the rolls were!
We love sushi and don't get to eat out a lot so was really looking forward to it. We got teryaki salmon, salmon skin rolls, boston roll, and some others. The food was very average, and that is being kind. It was low quality, the taste was bland, and we ended up only eating about 30% of what we ordered. Regret going there, and the total cost was higher than it should have been but we didn't notice until we got back. The lady was nice and polite but with many other better places, save your money and your dissappointment.
1/5 Stars - Appalling Experience, Discrimination & Disrespect My family and I were left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and utterly disappointed after our second visit to this sushi place. The servers' shocking behavior has left a sour taste in our mouths. We were initially told to "sit anywhere," but soon after, we were abruptly asked to leave due to supposed seating arrangements. The real reason, however, remains unclear. Was it discrimination? Ethnicity-based profiling? The uncertainty only adds to our outrage. The female server's cold, unfriendly demeanor made our experience even more unbearable. Her dismissive attitude and complete lack of empathy were staggering. As paying customers, we deserved respect, courtesy, and basic human decency. Instead, we were treated like unwanted intruders. To the management: If you genuinely care about your customers, take immediate action! 1. Hire staff who value diversity and inclusivity. 2. Provide comprehensive training on customer service, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. 3. Ensure your establishment welcomes ALL patrons, regardless of background. Until then, we'll take our business (and appetite) elsewhere. *Warning:* Potential customers, beware of discriminatory practices and subpar service. Additional Incident - Harassment & Intimidation* After sharing my previous review about the poor service and potential discrimination at this sushi place, I received a disturbing message from Susan, allegedly affiliated with the business. Susan's message was condescending, dismissive, and shockingly aggressive. She labeled me a "nasty fellow" for speaking out about our legitimate concerns and accused me of "victimizing" myself. Her tone was appalling, and her words reeked of gaslighting and intimidation. It's unacceptable for a business representative to: 1. Personalize criticism 2. Dismiss customer concerns 3. Use derogatory language 4. Attempt to silence and belittle Susan's actions demonstrate a profound lack of empathy, professionalism, and respect for customers. *New Demands:* 1. Public apology from Susan and the business 2. Immediate termination of Susan's affiliation with the business 3. Comprehensive customer service training for all staff 4. Implementation of a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and intimidation *Updated Rating:* -5/5 Stars (if possible) *Warning:* Potential customers, beware of this business's toxic culture, discriminatory practices, and harassment of customers who speak out. Be careful with this restaurant
Service was horrible The older lady at the front that claims to be a manager Had a bad attitude and was frustrated when asked questions. Could not sit where I want to sit and there was only one family and was Dining in. spent $60 on sushi that was not worth one bit of it. I even tried to give them a shot with a veggie roll.it was horrible!! Been to a lot of places in town and around the area by far one of the worst I've been to. Don't waste your time. 👎👎👎 Highly disappointed. B on the window. Should of known.
I hate writing this because I usually like writing positive reviews... but... We just walked out. My partner and I went across the street to Starbucks and we decided on the walk back we wanted sushi. Upon entering, this young woman asked us where we'd like to sit. I interrupted her and asked if it was okay to bring in our drinks. She nodded and we asked to sit at the sushi bar in the back. Upon sitting, a second woman asked us if we'd like menus. We said yes and she made a comment about our drinks in a playful way. Something along the lines of, "Whoa, Starbucks, this late?" We chuckled and stepped away. A young man approached the bar shortly after and asked if he could get us drinks. I replied, "just two waters, please." He brought back two waters and then said, "Like most restaurants, we don't allow food or drinks from outside." I told him that we had asked the young woman up front and he immediately went to the second server and brought her to the bar so she could confirm in front of us that drinks were not allowed from outside. At this point, I felt like we should leave. Both his tone and demeanor felt aggressive. I didn't argue that against their policy, I simply said we asked ahead of time. When the second woman confirmed, I stupidly said, "No, not her. The gal from the front." He then said she was new and it was her first day. Then left the bar and reprimanded her in Korean right next to us. I FELT SO BAD FOR THIS GIRL. No one cared about the drinks except for him. I felt awful for the young sever who just started there. I felt bad for even wanting to eat there. He said, "She's new and didn't know but now we've got that all sorted out." Who cares? What a jerk. We got up and left. I've never felt so gross at a restaurant in such a short period of time. I'm so sorry I even told that guy that she allowed the drinks. There's a nice way to handle things but this guy had some sort of power trip about the drinks and would not let it go. I say this VERY sarcastically: great vibes man, keep it up!
The most disappointing takeout i have experenced anywhere, anyplace and anytime. I ordered via phone Shusi Dinner and Yelllowtail collar and paid $32.51 plus $2.00 dollars tip. When I got home what I got where 2 tuna collar and no sushi. They told me there is soy sauce and the 10 piece sushi is inside. I should have check the content before leaving. I have been buying sushi at this place, but I believed this time they lost me. I tought of going back and retuen the Tuna collar, but I decided to just eat both. The tuna collar is $11.00 plus, so I overpaid for my meal. There are other good sushi place around Redlands and this will be the last I will order from this place.
