We ordered tonight for the first time after wanting to try this place for months. We ordered the shogun crispy chicken and it was the best sweet/spicy chicken I’ve ever eaten in my life. No exaggeration. The chicken portion was huge, but the rice portion was on the small side, a fact that was balanced by the soup and salad. The chicken was all white meat and lightly breaded, and it came with a ton of sauce. I ate until I couldn’t eat anymore and I didn’t even finish half the portion. 10/10. They’ve made a loyal customer with me!

I happened to stumble upon this place accidentally and it was one of the most surprisingly comforting restaurant experiences I've had. It is very unfortunate that this restaurant will no longer have the option to serve their Hibachi meal combinations, because it is fantastic. Very good quality of the food, perfect service, meat was cooked thoroughly, plenty of sake drink options and a very bountiful menu. I don't know how anyone could possibly not finish their food! The pricing is very reasonable because of the quality of the food. I would personally recommend their steak, as well as both miso and clear soup options. This restaurant deserves 5 stars and more recognition.

Delicious. Sushi rolls were fresh and yummy, some of the best in the area. Hibachi was also very good. Shrimp and scallops were very fresh, steak was tender and flavorful. Waiter happened to overhear it was my birthday and surprised me with a message on our dessert! Will definitely be returning.

Love the friendly greetings we receive walking in. The entire staff smiles and takes care of us as soon as we are seated. The food from the menu is spectacular and the drink selection at the bar is great too! The hibachi experience is totally awesome!! We would highly recommend for a good time out!! Enjoy!!!💞

Love this place already! They have really unique roll options (I recommend the Kill Bill) and their more basic rolls are just as fresh and delicious. Great value, great atmosphere, awesome staff; can't wait to go back! Definitely trying their hibachi (I was jealous of the tables I saw last time) and more of their specialty rolls next time! Beer, wine, and cocktail selection is great, too!

This is by far one of the best Japanese steakhouses I’ve ever frequented. The atmosphere is bright, warm and welcoming. I feel well taken care of and my meals have never disappointed whether in the regular dining room or while enjoying the hibachi experience. Kid friendly and quick! Hanzo is a must try

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The chef was exceptionally skilled and worked well with our kids. The presentation was great and the food was delicious! Definitely going back soon.

The sushi and sashimi was absolutely delicious and I loved the ginger dressing on the salad. Lately, sushi in the area has been very miss, but this was a hit! The restaurant was bigger inside than you would think, and the other patrons seemed to enjoy the hibachi (we did not do hibachi when we went).

My daughter is six and this is her favorite restaurant. If she could live here, and eat nothing but sushi every day, she would.

I highly recommend Hanzo. The food is amazing. I don't go out to eat very often. I cook a lot. There are not a lot of places in the area that make me want to go there because I am always comparing them to what I can do myself at home. Even if a certain restaurant can do it a little better with a dish, it's very rarely noticeable enough to me to make me want to spend money on it. One of the things I love about Hanzo is I don't have a hibachi and I don't make sushi for myself at home. (I actually have made Sushi at home, but not with the variety and quality either. Their Sushi and Sashimi are excellent.) Even if I did have some sort of hibachi set up the quality of their meat and fish is impeccable and their preparation is spot on. It's the only restaurant that I go out of my way to eat at.

I stopped in quickly for a late lunch before a nail appointment. The atmosphere is lovely. The lighting fixtures are works of art. Its intimate, has a friendly looking bar/counter area, and was family friendly. Very welcoming and calm at the same time. I ordered the crab ragoon and vegetable fried rice. (chefs kiss) Everything was fresh and delicious. They also feature an extensive cocktail/wine menu. I cant wait to go back when I have more time! L

Arrived with ZERO expectations aside from having heard nothing but good things, left completely converted. Interior was beautiful. Hibachi area was immaculate. People watching is on point. We thought the prices were reasonable even before we got to the food and we were absolutely not let down. The hibachi experience was a lot of fun and the food was great! Each of us got two meals out of our dinners. I did not expect to enjoy myself so much.

Our server was incredibly understanding of our party of 4 having to have separate checks for food and alcohol for each of us. This can be a very annoying request but necessary for work trips. The sushi and sashimi was absolutely amazing. Huge portions. Prices were very reasonable and wait time was minimal. Would come back for sure if I was ever in town again.

This a our go-to spot! Whether dining in or taking out, this place is nice for date night or a good time with friends! The sushi special rolls and udon noodle dinners are the bomb! Delicious and authentic! The flavors you can taste! They are made with love. Really nice place, deco (decorated) nicely.

Really great experience. Atmosphere was cool. Bartender was great. The wait staff was really attentive and made sure to pass my friend's food allergy info on to the chef who repeated it to us to make sure we knew he was aware. So that was a big relief. With that out of the way, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves and the chef was amazing!!!!! Beyond being incredibly talented, he was funny, and his food was excellent. Zero complaints, would definitely go back.

Wonderful service, the hibachi was terrific, lots of quality ingredients and a wide selection of items. There are 6 or more hibachi tables. Vibe: There is a large bar on the restaurant side and many tables for groups of 2 or 4 on that side, then the hibachi tables on the other side that can seat larger groups. They always seat us quickly and the service has always been accurate and swift. It was busy at our last visit, and we had our food so fast I was stunned. and it was prepared correctly. updated reviewn winter 2022 Hanzo is still outstanding. They really do a great job with the food and presentation. The atmosphere is upbeat and has a busy, big city vibe. The food has never disappointed. Taste is fresh, and prepared well The hibachi area is well laid out and is typically busy. We always leave with leftovers that are basically another meal! The bar area is fun and upbeat. Hanzo is getting even better as time goes by.

Fabulous atmosphere. Servers were very attentive. Unlike a lot of other Japanese restaurants around Albany, the lighting is very bright and welcoming. Food was excellent and I would dare to say that is is the best hibachi restaurants around Albany area. Unlike others, the food is not salty at all. You can taste the ingredients with ease, which feels to be very fresh. I will update after having sushi from this restaurant.

The area needed a spot like this, the Hibachi table was super fun, the chef did a good job of all the classic "tricks" they do and most importantly the food was really tasty and fresh! Would definitely return for a fun night out with a group!

I was treated to a birthday hibachi meal by some great friends and the meal did not disappoint. I ordered the deluxe meal that had filet, scallops, shrimp, and lobster. The right amount of sauces and flavors were used to make for a delicious meal. The show from the chef was average but his culinary skills were fantastic. Highly recommended.

The food was good, portions appropriate, and the show was entertaining. The service was a little scattered. I had to ask multiple times for a refill on my soda before it was brought out but others at my table got a second alcoholic beverage without even asking for it. I thought that was odd. They were busy, and were doing to keep up with the pace.

This ended up being the perfect spot to get all my friends I haven't seen in a while together. We ended up sitting towards the back so it was kind of cool being in our own little area. The staff was quick to refill any drink that got low and took plates right when we were done with them. And last, the food was amazing and I had a large amount of leftovers to take home. Overall I can't wait to go back

Me and my family are always at Hanzo! Tonight we went in for my wife’s birthday at the hibachi table and it was nothing short of amazing. Had a wonderful experience at Hanzo Japanese Steakhouse. The chef's showmanship was superb, and the food was even better. The pictures and videos tell the whole story. The loud noise and fires popping up may be a bit much for little ones, but it is a lot of fun to watch. Would definitely recommend Hanzo! Chris@ North East Ford

The food was delicious & the chef put on a great show! I like that they give you both rice and noodles or you can choose just rice or just noodles. I have a mushroom allergy so my food has to be cooked in the kitchen and our waiter was very on top of making sure my food came out around the same time the chef at our table was serving my friends. Its great that they take food allergies so seriously. Thank you!

It’s the best lunch Hibachi I have gotten in the area. They use high quality steak! Highly recommend! It’s a fun place and has a cool sushi bar ever! I don’t know why some negative comments about the price and service here :( I always had the best and lowest price Hibachi lunch here! I guess “picky is always picky” and everyone is different so you can’t please all :(

Terrific hibachi. I love this place. Me and my husband arrived about an hour and a half before close on a Sunday and we just so happened to have an entire hibachi station to ourselves because of low traffic at the time. It was fantastic. On a previous visit, I had a minor issue with my food being in contact with something I was allergic to. The manager was very nice and he fixed the problem immediately.

J

Their sushi is great. Their hibachi can easily be a great experience if you're with a large party. However, if you're in a smaller group (even on friday/Saturday) that experience can be significantly lessened. I have ordered takeout most of the times I've gotten from there, and the sushi is great. However, a group of 4 had very slow service at the hibachi table and the show was subpar. They do a great job for 6+ people. But I will resume my occasional sushi take out orders and not bother for inhouse hibachi again. PS, their utensils are very dirty. My advice to hibachi seekers is go in a group of 6+ and drink ahead of time. The chefs are very funny

Food was really good. I had the Teriyaki chicken entree, which came with Miso soup and a salad. The salad dressing was quite tasty. Very nice and clean, however very busy. Staff running around frantically, and tables were very close together. Would return and probably try the Hibachi next time.

C

Chicken wings were great! Waitress did not come back to the hibachi table to see if we needed another drink or anything else. But they made certain to automatically add 18% tip to the bill.

We saw Zou on Grandma Apple’s cheesecake on Facebook (Her cheesecake is life changing for anyone who is interested!) As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and a gorgeous interior. We decided to eat at the grill. The soup was delicious and the closest to our favorite Hibachi place in Raleigh, Kanki. The prices are extremely reasonable for what you’re getting. The husband and I did the steak shrimp and chicken for two which was $50. He also got a side of scallops while my son got a steak hibachi with a side of shrimp. My husband also got sushi which was apparently delicious (I’m pregnant so I wasn’t able to eat any, sadly!) The chef was engaging and entertaining. We’ve been to hibachi places so often that we know the routine but it’s always nice to see the chef do their own twist and have their personality show through. Everything was cooked wonderfully and it all tasted great! The waitresses were always on top of refills and asking if we needed anything. The overall experience was awesome and the only thing that I wish we could change is that we live so far away! We will be back for sure.

Excellent experience. Food service very good. If you're doing hibachi, an 18% gratuity is added to the bill. Actually it's less than I'd usually leave.

This place is very near from my apartment but I just happened to have gone there for the first time. It was also my first time trying Hibachi! The chef put on a great show and the food, the quantity was worth too. The place is a little high end because of the ambiance, the hibachi so it is a bit pricey but still worth it. I loved the chicken tempura sushi roll. I am gonna get more of these as they are cheap. I also got the in house sake which was quite strong.

Went to Hanzo for some hibachi celebrating a friends birthday. Our party was for 6 people. We were still waiting for 2 guests and you can’t get seated until your whole party has arrived. In the mean time we sat at the bar and ordered up 2 drinks. Everyone finally arrived and we were seated. So 15 minutes go by and no service yet since we have been seated. I went back up to the bar and got drinks for everyone else because we were not willing to wait any further. Some of us waited on ordering drinks at the bar before we were seated.. turns out that was a bad decision. The hibachi area was completely booked so staff was occupied taking orders from the other larger parties. Waitress came and wrote down our orders. And 15 min later the chef showed up. In the mean time we had soup and salad. Experience was great during hibachi. Food was awesome, no complaints. I had the triple so I got beef, chicken, and shrimp which was very good tasting. There was a sundae and sparkler for our friend celebrating his birthday. Other than the slow service due to the large crowd, we would definitely visit again. Our bill was around $250 for a party of 6 people.

Hanzo's was pretty good. I don't know if this is the only location, but this one just recently opened. I thought for the amount of food we received it was fairly priced. The food was tasty but a tad bit over cooked. Over all I thought the place was great and will be returning.

Very nice place near East Greenbush for sushi and Asian food. Everything was presented nicely and tasted good. Nice atmosphere and clean. The green curry was very spicy so beware. Also know for parties of 4 they charge 20% gratuity. Prices are expensive but average among similar restaurants. Definitely worth a visit if you're near by.

M
Michael Lambert

The food was good. The staff were friendly. The place is cold. The draft from the hibachi exhaust fan made it so cold that we couldn't take off our jackets. The chef was good but if you've had other local hibachi, you've probably had a better time.

S
Shakti Chauhan

We went to Hanzo for Hibachi Dinner and ordered Chicken and Shrimp combo. We had to wait for almost 30 minutes to get seated at the Hibachi table because the Hibachi section was fully occupied. So, if you plan on going to this place during busy times, suggest that you reserve in advance to avoid waiting. Most of the food was good, except the noodles which were very soggy and plain with hardly any taste. The Vegetables, Chicken and Shrimp were well cooked and had good taste, Overall I think it is a decent place, but a bit pricey considering the taste and quantity served.

B
Becca

Pros: good food, basil chicken was top notch Cons: service was very poor. 1. server didn't give me to chance to finish ordering and I had wait for them to come back. (In response to owner I was not trying to order food when they took drink order they just walked away in the middle of me ordering food after drinks arrived only getting half of the order) 2. Never let us look at the dessert menu or order dessert at all just dropped a check rushing us out the door (restaurant was busy but only one 4 top waiting)(in response to owner hard to let you know when you just dropped our check and ran off) 3. First page of the menu is BOLD RED letter rules. I came for dinner out not to get yelled at for walking in the door. Owner: stop making excuses/blaming the customer in your response and improve your server training and guest experience...do better.

P
Pilar Dexter

I’ve eaten here before at the restaurant and while it is pricey the food is very good. I thought to try the hibachi table this time and was very disappointed. The chef was nice and entertaining but needs training on the cooking because he burned the noodles and the scallops. I could not get the burnt flavor out of my mouth.

L
L Moak

Food was great. Service was terrible. I suggest you do not go on a Friday night until they work out the kinks. Our party had reservations but waited in line for 20 minutes. They are slow seating. The line to get seated was out the door and it was cold out. 3 different servers came to take our order. It’s a new restaurant and they will eventually work it out. The decor is nice and the food was excellent.

R
Robin Pinto

The food is great here and we really enjoy it. However,on 2 separate and "special occasion" meals with a large family group, we were given our TO GO boxes the moment the last of our food w a finished being prepared!! We spent over $300 and we felt rushed and were basically told the reason was they needed the table to be available. Apparently this is commonplace there and it's very very upsetting. Don't hand me the bill when I'm taking my 3rd bite!! We weren't offered a second drink or dessert. This is a terrible business practice and we had a reservation! I'm not going to spend $350 on my birthday to be rushed out. I'll give my money to a business who appreciate it and values that the money we spend holds value...we aren't just a number. Very upsetting.

C
Colin Tomlinson

The food was good, I was disappointed with my drink, the bourbon peach tea was watery. My wife's Mule was delicious though so probably just bad luck on mine. Our server was inexperienced and or wanted to be somewhere else. She asked us what we wanted to order within 2 minutes of sitting down, before we had a chance to look at the menus. Perhaps we were her last table of the evening. Did not offer us desert, and attempted to take the check before I had looked at it and put my card in. It was not pleasant feeling rushed. I would not go for an anniversary dinner again, but I would be willing to give the restaurant another try.

N
Noelle Derbyshire

Honestly, the food is delicious and the chefs at the table really give you the experience you are looking for with a hibachi dinner. I have been here many times since opening and they have yet to disappoint. However, the wait staff and service have been less than attentive the last two times we went. After taking our drink and food orders, it was over an hour before she came back for 2nd drink orders and this was after I went to ask for service. After ordering and another 30 mins goes by, a second trip to the bar was required before the table got their drinks. Thinking it was an off day, went back a month later to the same lack of service. The table of 15 was going to the bar for drinks.

J
Jager1007

Not a good experience. Won't be going back. Now they have added 20 % Gratuity automatically to your bill for parties of 2 or more. The service was awful. I had to ask 3 times for a glass of water. She said they were short staffed however the whole night there was 2 girls standing next to the hibachi table against the wall doing absolutely nothing. They weren't even clearing the dirty dishes. That's certainly not worth 20% tip. They cut back on the food, Now you only get a choice of a soup or a salad, Not both.... For the same price. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

E
Emma Beckwith

Service was good, food and chef was great! Unfortunately some rude customer complaining about his reservations, and how he wanted to eat to management, which then proceeded with the manager coming to kick us out of and telling us to have a great night because someone else needed the table. Mind you, I still had half a drink left, and food in front of me. With our bill being so high I wouldn’t expect a manger to kick Us out. Over all good place

M
Matt Beckwith

Food was great and the service was fast but management was poor. The staff was great but we got rudely interrupted by the “manager” wearing a flat rim hat telling us a separate party is getting annoyed about the wait and asked us to leave. My sister and father still had half a drink and some cake leftover from our grandfathers 65th party we “tried” to celebrate at Hanzo steakhouse. Again staff and food was great just have never experienced a manager like that in my lifetime.

M
Mary Kurutz

A very ridiculous charge was added to our bill. I ordered a makers mark on the rocks. The server added a $2 charge for the ice. When I questioned the charge, the bartender came over and said it was because I didn’t order the ice separately from the drink. Had I done that, I wouldn’t have been charged the $2. She asserted that the drink had more alcohol hence how full the glass was. Of course the glass looked fuller because it contained the ice. She was rude and quite agitated because we questioned what she said. It made no sense. She made no offer to deduct the bogus charge.may e this is why the place was almost empty. While the food is good here, I won’t be back. Soho in East Greenbush has an almost identical menu. The prices are the same. The food tastes the same. I bet they don’t add on a charge for ice.

S
S

This place has really gone downhill the past year. This used to be our go to spot for every celebration especially since we had picky eaters in our group. However the last few times we've visited, we've had chefs who barely interacted or performed for our table, to only see them enthusiastically perform at other tables. Also, I used to never be able to finish their meals but portion sizes have gotten smaller so I haven't had leftovers the last few times I've gone. All this may not be a big deal for others however my family has a hard time agreeing on restaurants and it's sad that Hanzo has left us all so disappointed.

E
Ellen Mesley

We had reservations and were told upon arrival that they were running late. Our table was seated, and we had to move a large floor drying fan from our area by ourselves so that we didn’t trip over it. It was about an HOUR before the chef arrived at our table. The service was poor. Appetizer orders were not brought out to all of our party at the same time. Servers were nonchalant and wearing t-shirts. Dirty appetizer dishes were not removed prior to the chefs arrival, and we had to move them to an empty table ourselves to make room. Then, they had the audacity to tack on a 20% gratuity to the bill! If you’re going to charge 20% gratuity, your staff had better be spot on. We’ve received better service at Panera. Aside from the sub-par service, the chef was great and the food was delicious.

The sushi we ordered didn't taste good, so we didn't even finish it. The shrimp inside our vegetable fried rice didn't have any seasoning & the rice was lacking salt. The desert barely tasted like anything. The other side of the restaurant was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk from across the table. And the prices are high for a restaurant that serves food that tastes meh. The waitress was pretty awesome tho.

The waitresses were very nice and attentive. The younger guy who did the actual cooking did no tricks, made a big mess, didnt make eye contact with anyone, and left. It was incredibly disappointing. The food was cooked decent though.

I attend this place several times and had a few birthday partys there and today I took my family there for a special day and I normally order sreak(prime) and shrimp so today I up graded to filet and scallops and received 6 pieces of meat and cook gave other teenage family with baby so much more postions and tried to explain to cook and didnt understand english and then waitress sent a women over to translate and was very loud and embarsed me in front of whole room like I was a little kid.I went up to resgister and tried to explain and pretty much told me to just deal with it which was unaseptable. I will never spend another doller in this place. So much for customer service.

Did not expect an over cooked thin sliver of salmon? The salad was old lettuce. The rice & vegetables were not hot and I live less than 5 minutes away. The teriyaki sauce was good. Will not be ordering from here again. Waste of money. I’ll stick with sake in Latham.

If I could give zero stars, I would. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had In my life. My boyfriend’s mother and I ordered coffee and the coffee Was not fresh and tasted like it had been sitting in a pot for a week straight. It tasted like what you’d expect mud to taste like. When the waitress came back to take our order we both asked for something different to drink and she didn’t even ask if there was anything wrong with the coffee. Even though the coffee was bad, we figured the food would be better, and it was not. My boyfriends mother’s dish had undercooked vegetables and She couldn’t even finish it. I ordered spicy noodles with chicken and was only able to take a few bites. If I had to choose between eating here for free or Taco Bell with me having to pay for it, I’d choose Taco Bell. I’m not much of a picky eater, but if I can’t finish my plate and I haven’t eaten all day, then that’s sad. Only good thing I can say about this place is that, according to my bf, the rattlesnake sushi was good. If the owner put as much effort into the quality of the food as he does the decor in the place, maybe I’d come back. What a disappointment. If you’re hungry and in the area, go to the Wendy’s across the way. It’d be much cheaper and at least edible. We spent 74 dollars that night for dinner for three, which blows my mind considering how bad the food is. What a waste of time and money.

Food and service was good. Price was okay. However, it was so cold in the hibachi dining area we were seated, we had to wear our coats. Our hands were even cold. A family of 7 with three small children were seated in our area and had to move to another area of the restaurant because it was so cold. I spoke to the owner about our dissatisfaction, however he didn't really offer any explanation or talk to us about the cold area we endured. minute

We waited over an hour to get our food. The server was oblivious to what was going on and just kept giving excuses as to why our food wasn't ready. Come to find out, she never put one of the meals into the kitchen. When it came out, it was wrong, and the lobster was overcooked. This was my first and last time dining here. It was a very disappointing experience.

I went to dinner at Honzo’s with my wife and daughter. We hat hibachi, to start the chef that we had was very under trained. The was really creepy toward my daughter and kept touching her and made her uncomfortable. When didn’t do any of the usual tricks that we have seen in the past i.e. No flipping the eggs or playing spatula and fork tricks. He also didn’t season the food with salt and pepper. He over cooked my steak and under cooked kept putting allowing the chicken to touch the beef. The next issue was the waitress she after she took our order and brought us our drinks she disappeared and after we ate we had to wait 25 minutes for her to stop by to ask if we want boxes. I told her yes and asked for the bill at the same time. She brought us the boxes but didn’t bring us the bill till 10 minutes later. She was horrible. And they add a tip of 18% on parties 2 or more, which is fine but you better have great service and food because most places only add tip in for large parties. It kinda feels like they know there services is bad so add it in for everyone so to make sure they get tips. We won’t be going there again.

I would love to say that this was a great place to eat. The food is great. The people are good. HOWEVER, the owners take tips from the employees. They mandate 20% tip on all checks with 2+ people, and it does not go to the staff. We tried to tip staff more, and they were afraid to take the money. I am so saddened to see hardworking people treated this way. Please do not go here.

See below. Three years later, I still haven't gone back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Given our experience, and the other negative experiences reported by other (former) customers, I'm amazed it's still in business. And, to make sure that no wound goes unsalted, I discovered yesterday that the owner never processed the refund he agreed to provide! (Shocker.) Do we award (or subtract) a star for consistency? Virus is no excuse - this went down over a month ago. Won't get fooled again. After two (out of two) separate take out orders were screwed up, we won't do that again! And given the owner/manager's attitude, we won't be back again for any reason. We placed a take out order in person. It was early; not at all crowded. We were given the wrong order. We called (from home) to report the mistake, and declined the offer to drive back (thirty minute round trip) to pick up the correct order. We also declined the offer of credit toward our next purchase. He ultimately agreed to refund the cost of the "correct" order. Figuring any place can make a mistake, we tried again. Placed the order over the phone, read it back. They got it wrong. Again. So we waited while they corrected the order. Unfortunately, the food that was brought out initially waited too. I asked the owner/manager if the other food had been sitting there while we waited (about 20 minutes) and he was utterly unconcerned. (That made one of us.). Predictably, it wasn't hot or even warm by the time we got home. Before leaving I told the owner/manager I wasn't happy. No apology, no regret, no remorse. Nothing. Well, I said, we will never have this problem again, and I can guarantee that. Given the other reviews I've read, I so look forward to the owner's snarky response. So I end this with three words: Asian Tea House! (Great food, and terrific, friendly service.). (Ok, that's more than three words.)

Horrible! 8 of us went for hibachi to celebrate a special birthday. I stopped in early to bring a cake. When our party arrived I again spoke with the hostess and identified the birthday girl. We watched 5 other tables celebrate birthdays throughout their entire meal. When it came our turn the birthday was completely ignored. No celebration at all. After the meal we waited 10 minutes until I finally i went to hostess. She stated they FORGOT! when the cake finally arrived they lite the candle and left. Not even a song. When the bill arrive they added a 20% gratuity to the bill. The manager came over as she knew I was upset and I told her I was not going to give a 20% tip for poor service. We had already tipped the habachi chef 20 at the table. She refused to take the gratuity off the check!!! I SPENT 250.00 for a birthday celebration we never had. I will never go back.

Too loud! There is no reason why the hibachi chef should be making that ridiculous amount of noise that echoes throughout the entire restaurant!!! The food is excellent if you can deal with the noise.

The sushis are all crazy sweet (roll, eel, even salmon roes are sweet), and many sushi are not even served even when they have them listed in the menu. The stainless steel spatula banging hibachi performance was crazy loud too and was affecting people who weren't part of it. The order took very long. It seems this place is understaffed. The waitress mixed up our order and didn't provide a refund. Was looking forward to this place but we were disappointed.

Poor customer service. What kind of employee yells at customers and causes a scene in their own restaurant!! Colleen is extremely rude! She screamed at me at the bar in front of everyone because I asked about an order that I had been waiting 40 minutes for!! I walked out after that, but did try to call the next day, to talk to a manager, but Colleen answered and hung up on me!! Miserable employees taking it out on customers!! Don't order to go meals from here!! Reply to Owner: You are the one who is a bad liar! I suggest you go back and check your system/cameras. I arrived at 6:20 and walked out with no food at 7pm. I did ask about the order a few times which is to be expected when door dash is supposed to be quick and I waited 40 minutes, but never did I yell at anyone!! I usually complete 4-5 deliveries an hour, so waiting 40 minutes at restaurant takes orders/money from me as well! And btw, I spoke with doordash, who can confirm the 40 minutes wait and they are the ones who suggested I call and speak to the manager, but clearly that didn't do any good and neither does your response to this. The problem starts at the top! Do Better!

I should have taken my cue right from the start when my party of 16 arrived 10 minutes early for our 7:30 reservation. We checked in and advised the manager that there were 3 in the party running a little late, they refused to seat us until the whole party arrived. We were then told by the manger that if they were going to be more then 10 minutes late that our reservation would be cancelled. We were all ready to have a great night as we celebrated an important birthday. I truly wish i had read these reviews before choosing this restaurant and spending close to $1000 for a meal. This owner/manager seems to make it a point to call her customers liars when, in fact, she is the liar and needs a lesson on business ethics, etiquette and customer service. She definitely showed a lack of class and education. Without repeat paying customers, you will not have a sustainable business. Throughout the meal she was loud, rude and obnoxious. It is no wonder as to why they were dead on a Friday night, yet we were told they would give our table away if our whole party wasn't there within 10 minutes of our reservation... really?? I couldn't help but think "To who exactly?" With the exception of a few customers, the rest of the tables were empty. We were rushed through the entire meal and we had barely finished dinner before they brought the cake out that we had bought. We had a few people that had gotten up from the table and when she saw this, she exclaimed quite loudly... "Are you f%&king kidding me?, too bad we're not waiting!". And let me just say, she did not wait. She lit the candles and she started singing loudly, almost yelling happy birthday. We all started singing along and then she abruptly walked out of the room. The staff then returned with boxes for leftovers. Not one member of the staff even offered to serve coffee. I also did not mention that in there haste to get us out of their restaurant, they smashed the back of my nieces birthday cake. Please keep in mind, businesses can pay for good reviews. I'm sorry that you're not a happy person and that you take whatever anger and hostility you have inside out on the people who are essential in providing your livelihood. However, please let me give you some good advice. Hire a manager with an excellent customer service background. The negativity from one person on that staff permeated to the rest of the team and made what should have been a great experience, a miserable one. The way you respond to people's reviews is appalling. Keep in mind that not only are these reviews public, but so are your responses. It shows that you don't care about your business or your customers. There are way too many places to go that do the same thing as you, yet they provide excellent customer service. I am a business owner in the Capital Region as well, and I can promise you that my customers are my number one priority. Mistakes happen. It's how you react in a positive manner that keeps customers coming back. In business, when a customer has a great experience, they may tell one or two people... When they have a negative experience, they will tell anyone who will listen. You have a decent product, but the rude service is going to cost you your business. Nineteen people left your establishment after dealing with a rude staff and having a very negative experience. It is obvious that you do not possess a background or education in hospitality or customer service, but how good is your math? Nineteen people X everyone they know = 😲

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS RESTAURANT. If you value PUNCTUALITY, DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR HAVE KIDS, you’re far better off at a fast-food place. This restaurant has no respect for its customers’ time, patience, or basic courtesy. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, yet we waited 15 MINUTES JUST TO BE SEATED — and then OVER AN HOUR before a chef finally showed up at our table. That’s right — 1.5 HOURS after our reservation, we finally got food. We had to COMPLAIN THREE SEPARATE TIMES before anyone even acknowledged us properly. When we raised our concerns, the so-called “manager” (who was the complete opposite of what someone in hospitality should be) TALKED DOWN TO US, lacked any empathy, and actually said it was “common for people to wait hours” for their food. Instead of apologizing, she brushed us off and promised complimentary appetizers that NEVER ARRIVED. Meanwhile, we watched multiple tables be seated, eat, and leave — all while we sat there with HUNGRY KIDS and no explanation. A simple warning about wait times would have been the bare minimum courtesy — but apparently, that’s too much to expect here. And to top it all off? They had the AUDACITY TO TACK ON AN 18% MANDATORY GRATUITY — for what? Rudeness? Incompetence? Horrible food? This place is GREEDY, DISORGANIZED, AND COMPLETELY LACKING IN CUSTOMER RESPECT. Do yourself a favor and GO ANYWHERE ELSE. RESPONSE TO THEIR LIES: 1. THEY NEVER EXPLAINED ANY PROCESS TO US. 2. LET ALONE THE FACT THAT WE NEVER SAW THE "MANAGER" UNTIL WE COMPLAINED AN HOUR INTO THE RESERVATION. 3. THE MANAGER NEVER EVER SAID 'DO YOU WANT TOPBE TO A REGULAR TABLE'. HILARIOUS. IN FACT, I TOLD HER THAT IT WAS COMMON COURTESY THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE OFFERED THAT OPTION TO US WHEN WE WERE WAITING FOR SO LONG. 4. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO COMMINICATE AND SPENT TIME ACTUALLY LISTENING THAN TRYING TO TALK AT CUSTOMERS, THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THE DIFFERENCE OF 'TELLING YOU THAT WE WERE GOING TO LEAVE IF YOU DO NOT GET A CHEF TO US SOON' VS ACTUALLY LEAVING THEN AND NOW. 5. YOU OFFERED FOOD FREE OF CHARGE? WHERE? IN YOUR DREAMS? NOTHING WAS COMPENSATED FOR. 6. YES -- OBVIOUSLY WE DID NOT WANT TO TIP YOU FOR HAVING WAITED 1.5 HOURS FOR OUR FOOD AND LOUSY SERVICE. BUNCH OF GREEDY PEOPLE. 7. YOUR GREED AND HARSHNESS IS REFLECTED IN YOUR LIES. THANKS FOR THE WORST HIBACHI AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES. 8. TALKING IN BULLET POINTS DOESN'T MAKE YOU HONEST. IT'S HOW YOU TREAT THE SITUATION THAT REFLECTS YOUR QUALITY.

Ordered Pick up. Came home to raw steak unseasoned rice for a $29 hibachi meal and the sushi was sour/ bad. I called and was talked down too. The man talking clearly didn’t care and didn’t wanna hear that his chefs prepared a bad meal.

I wanted to celebrate my daughter’s excellent school performance with a hibachi dinner, but our experience left a bad impression. When we asked about seating for just the two of us, we were told we had to pay full adult hibachi price for my 8-year-old, with no child or reduced rate offered. It felt unfair and like we were being charged more simply because there were only two of us. Charging around $30 for a child when most hibachi places typically charge around $15–$17 made it feel like the policy was aimed at maximizing the bill, not being family-friendly. As a single mom trying to treat my daughter, that was disappointing and made me feel singled out. I hope the restaurant reconsiders this policy so families can enjoy the hibachi experience without feeling taken advantage of.

Food is decent, but over priced. It’s a loud strip mall restaurant. But screwing up a delivery order and not even attempting to send the food we ordered is not ok.

Pretty decor and inviting atmosphere. The food is bland, all of it tastes like the same bland flavor somehow. Honestly pretty impressive making all types of food taste like the same type of bland. Even the apple juice was bland, most likely due to being watered down even though there was no ice. The service is subpar. Venue was not busy but server did not check in once.
