It’s been three long years since I last visited this place, and I’m so glad I came back for dinner. The crab bisque was still as delicious as I remembered! This time, I decided to try the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder. It was absolutely fantastic - the fish was so fresh and flavorful, and it was a perfect meal for two. The only thing I would say is that the portion size might be a bit small if you’re really hungry. But overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious seafood dinner. Oh, and our server, Julia, was absolutely amazing! She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

December 2024 Stopped here for a quick bite while waiting for EV charging. Enjoined crawfish étouffée and the fish filet. Gumbo and bisque taste good too. Really impressed with the attentive and quick service. Highly recommend and will love to return.

Everything was delicious. We got seated right away, the ambience was fun, they were welcoming with happy faces. Foods were perfectly seasoned and that dessert was just superbly rich. Would recommend it for sure.

Great service - their lobster, shrimp, grilled cheese is delicious!! Had 3 orders of this dish at our table. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. Nice decorations.

They have a little sampler platter for your first time there. The clam chowder soup is my favorite ever. I tried a fried platter and it was really good. I didn’t try the main courses because I came in for a snack. The deserts are also really good. Service was amazing.

Update: Sep 2023: Still great food and great service. The special cocktails are awesome. Still highly recommended. My wife and I have been coming here a couple of times in the last 2-3 years and every single time, both the food and the service have been top notch. This time we had the Crispy Calamari to start, and they couldn't be more crispier and tastier. The best calamaris I have had for a while now. Next we had a cup of Gumbo and a Shrimp PoBoy. The gumbo tasted great. The Shrimp PoBoy was great too although it was a little dry and I wish the sauce they used could have been more. Still no complaints though. Lastly, we had the Bread Pudding for dessert. Again, easily the best pudding I have had except maybe for some in New Orleans. Great service as usual and I look forward to coming back soon. Highly recommended!!⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Updated 5-star Review in May 2022: After speaking with manager Ryan, my wife and I decided to give Fish City Grill a second chance. We dined in and had an excellent experience, completely opposite from last time. Erica, Robin, Lauren, Chef Mike, and their team provided perfect service. This time both the raw oysters and grilled oysters were good size and very tasty. My wife ordered the Seafood Medley and I had the Grilled Redfish (both daily specials) and they were both well seasoned, full of flavor, and the quantity was perfect. Overall we really appreciate the hard work that everyone put into providing a great experience for us and we will be coming back going forward. Thank you! Initial 2-star Review in March 2022: To start with the pros, I feel the flavor is good, and I also feel the staff I’ve encountered seem to be very helpful and willing to provide good, solid service, which is why it’s 2 stars and not 1. The biggest problem is the quantity. My wife ordered the scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp which looked like someone ate half of it or more and then dumped the remaining leftovers in a box for her to salvage…..and this cost $22! We also paid $30 for 12 grilled oysters, but it was hard to actually find each oyster given they were all so small. It looked like someone just sneezed on a few oversized oyster shells and put them in a box. I understand oysters shrink when they’re grilled, but this isn’t my problem. Whoever is managing this location needs to ask their purchasing manager to buy larger oysters and use different oysters for grilling than they use for raw oysters. In one picture you’ll see the oyster next to a lemon slice, illustrating how it was about the size of my thumbnail. All of this would be okay I guess if it didn’t cost around $100. I understand there’s extreme inflation and supply chain issues going on because of covid, but I’d rather pay a higher price for more quantity rather than a higher price for less quantity. With the latter, I feel I’m being cheated on 2 ends. I hate to leave a bad review, but I’m doing so to explain to the manager of this location why we won’t be going back. We’ve been here several times before, but we’re finally calling it quits. For any business, the most valuable customers are returning ones, because the cost of acquisition is zero. However, if you continue to steal from them while giving them less food they will inevitably never go back to eat at your restaurant. And if you’re just following orders handed down from corporate, maybe it’s time to open your own restaurant that serves more reasonable quantities or consider working for a different one. I’m sure you’re working hard, but it comes down to economics and creating a good experience for the customer.

Wonderful service. It was our first time and they gave free samples of their soups and a sample of their famous app of fried oyster nachos. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms app, a strawberry mojito, blackened rainbow trout, fried catfish, and the gumbo. Very good portions at reasonable prices. Will definitely come again. Made a very good Mother's Day!

The Garlic Caper Grilled Salmon and the Grilled Salmon salad were yummy though the price are higher than most of the competitors. Red beans and rice were OK. The Charbroiled oysters were a total disappointment. $18 for half a dozen of chesse and garlic on half shells was outrageous because the oysters were so small I could barely see or taste them. Our server, Christian, was very courteous, honest, and attentive. Will definitely eat at this restaurant again!

I was in Richardson the other day looking for a seafood restaurant that I had prior visited but they seem to have closed down. With further looking around, ended up finding and visiting fish City grill. I had been in the area but never seen them before. Almost hard to find from the outside if you don't know what you're looking for. A very relaxed atmosphere inside. Nut ut unenjoyable experience at all. In fact, it was very nice and had said some very good food. We had a shrimp and grits plate along with shrimp, oysters and fried cod meal. The service was good and the facility was very well kept and clean. The food too was also very good and highly enjoyable. They also offered a oyster bar, And a regular bar and a huge selection of various wines. If you in the area of the State farm insurance buildings at Central and President Bush, then this could be a place where you'd like to go visit one day if you have not been there. Good food. Good service.

Clean & nice atmosphere. Nice in & outdoor seating. Our server was very friendly. Good food. Fast service. The catfish was a big size portion. Only the shrimp & cheese appetizer wasn't what I expected. Hardly any shrimp in it. I was disappointed because I really wanted shrimp that day. Other than that, it was good. Maybe the fact that we went in the evening, not sure.

We dine in on 10/30/24 Christian our waiter provided excellent service and knew the menu well. Food- Smokin’ Hot Shrimp - 10/10 flavor explosion. We cleaned the appetizer and left nothing behind. Special - Blackened fried catfish plate. 7/10 I didn’t really taste the blackened flavor, lacking in seasoning. The fish was cooked well. The red beans and rice was a little on the salty side so it paired well with each other. Special - Creamy Pesto Shrimp pasta. 10/10 The dish was not overly creamy. The shrimp was big and good amount served. (My daughter finished her plate and that never happens 😂) Fried catfish plate. 6/10. The catfish lacking in seasoning. It was fried well and was a good size. The fries was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Rice was ok. Garlic Caper Grilled Salmon. 7/10. Salmon was cooked well lacked seasoning. Rice was ok, spinach was prepared perfectly. No Photo - margarita 10/10 strong and was delicious Grits- 10/10 cooked perfectly Key lime pie- 7/10 just regular nothing special about it.

Friday night happy hour! This place has so many food options. Not just on the menu, but they have a huge chalkboard full of items. Everything tastes extremely fresh. We had the seafood platter.
