I found this little gem about a year ago. I love the food, the atmosphere, and the staff. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. I was indecisive on one visit, and the manager made it so that I could have both things without having to purchase two meals. They didn't even charge me for it the first few times, so I just have an extra large tip.☺️ Once they began charge to charge for it, it still wasn't much. My most recent visit was a double date night with friends. Everything was mostly great, as usual. There was just a minor issue with the shrimp being fried too hard, but that usually doesn't happen. I definitely recommend this place. I always take family and friends here when they come to visit. They have all loved it as well.

First time visit. This place is destined to become a favorite. Creative cocktails. Unpretentious environment. The food was outstanding! The seafood was fresh, cooked perfectly, came out quickly, and tasted amazing. I like that you can choose your protein to go with your choice of 4 signature dishes. Or you can choose from a nice list of other entrees. My first impression couldn't have been better. I'll have to see if the rest of the menu is as impressive as the warm wilted spinach salad with blackened red fish.

This place was awesome. The vibe was really cool. My only complaint is that our server wasn’t masked but she Ecuador m eventually noticed my discomfort cause she soon gave me a wider girth during our interactions. The shrimp bisque was the best thing on the menu. The fried green tomatoes were good but slightly overcooked. The tacos were not as good as before. The chicken sandwich was large but they skimped on the slaw so that crunchy texture was missing. Overall had a good time and would return.

In town on business. Decided to check this place. A little skeptical at first, not knowing how fresh their seafood was? Good local beers on tap, broad menu, kind of Southern, kind of Cajun. The Shrimp and Grits really impressed me. I'm from Miami, cook lots of grits and between the blackened shrimp (lots), excellent creamy and cheesy grits, topped with a very interesting chunky creole tomato sauce on top, it made my night!

Great variety and reasonable prices. I’ve tried the fish and chips, mac and cheese, and I absolutely love the okra—definitely a standout. From the brunch menu, I’ve had the shrimp and oyster grits, which were pretty solid as well.

We went for lunch on a Wednesday. Not crowded. The person I assume was the manager was great. All of the rest was a solid ok - not good enough to tempt me to want to eat there again, but not bad enough to say I would never eat there again. The atmosphere was generic or leaned more BBQ joint than seafood. They had generic sodas (?) and one name brand - Dr. Pepper (not Diet DP tho). We ordered 3 items and of the three, we’d recommend the fish tacos. They were the best I have ever had. The gumbo and fish/chips were fine, but the fish tacos were amazing. Seemed kind of pricey for the experience.

First time customer! Was looking for casual seafood dining and decided to give this place a try. Interior: Rustic Industrial. Meal: Shrimp was tasty, however the cabbage coleslaw mix did not have sauce on it, hence it was dry. Ended up putting hot sauce on the tacos for flavor and wetness. Parking: Two hour parking spots available in front of restaurant. The place was fairly empty so the meal came out pretty quickly. Would recommend for a quick meal in a nice setting. Fall/Spring time would be great as well because there’s outdoor sitting.s

The food we received was good. There was like music which was nice. If Sara R is your server, request someone else. She provided the absolute worst service I have ever had. We sat for 15 minutes waiting on drinks before she realized she never put them in. Then she wasn't going to take our order, she was prepared to drop drinks and head back to social hour at the wait station. 🙄 When we ordered, she told us one of our dishes was unavailable and suggested another. Another 15 goes by and a different server brings out our food with the missing substitution. When we asked for it she said they don't have that either. She walked over and informed our server. Sara never came back until we were served a drink we didn't order. She acted like she didn't know what else to do with it. So, long story short we got some of what we ordered and paid for some we didn't. What a nightmare experience.

I visited Tricky Fish for the first time on February 21, 2026 upon recommendations. It was early evening and not crowded. I seated myself at the bar and proceeded to wait for the bartender (Junior) to finish a conversation with another employee to come over and welcome me. It took at least 3-5 minutes for that to happen. I ordered a cocktail and it was very good. We were off to a good start. I knew I wanted crawfish and asked Junior a question about the level of the spice of the seasoning. He replied "I don't know" and did not offer any other recommendations or advice. I ordered the crawfish boil, which comes with potatoes and sausage, coleslaw and hushpuppies. Within a reasonable amount of time the crawfish arrived. The crawfish were of a nice size, but were overcooked and slightly mushy. Not all were terrible and I didn't complain. I searched the dish for the sausage and found two very small thin pieces of it. I wish I had taken a picture! At that point I realized I didn't get coleslaw and had to ask for it. I had not been asked how things were at that point or would I be at any point during my meal. I also realized I didn't get hushpuppies and asked another bartender about those. He put the order in, but they didn't arrive until I was finished with my meal. The hostess brought the hushpuppies over and said "since you had to wait these are on us"....they were included with the meal! At one point I looked over at the other bartender and noticed him taking a shot of brown liquor before making a drink. Not at any point did Junior or any other employee ask how my meal was or if I needed anything else. I was so disappointed. I love crawfish and I should have sent them back! I'm not sure if I can give them a second chance.
