I’ve been looking for a great NY style pizza place that sells by the slice in the area. It has been few and far between, but by far this place is THE BEST I’ve had in a long time. Incredible lunch deal for slices. Proof I couldn’t help eat it before the photo. Crispy throughout the slice and the crust was soft. Great dough and ingredients.
Great place, can be difficult to get in and get a pizza so just make it a point to call early. We live in Colfax and had heard about this place a while back. Does NY pizza justice, and I thoroughly enjoyed the employees and owner. Very respectful and helpful. Appreciate them all.
Family was in town who grew up on the east coast, so Friday night called for a Johnny’s pizza night! Pictured is a half porky pie half combo, full bbq chicken, and half cheese half halal pepperoni. How do you even pick a favorite? Everyone raved about the pies and crust. The crust had our bulldog foaming at the mouth 😂 Thank you Johnny’s NY Pizzeria for a great family pizza night!
This is legit NY Pizza! My wife is from the Bronx and we have yet to find pizza in CA that compares to NY, until we stopped at Johnny’s for a cheese slice. This is our new one and only pizza stop.
This place is AMAZING. This is probably the best pizza I’ve had in NorCal but I love NY style pizza. The owners are super friendly and they’ve scaled their business perfectly and are now open more frequently and longer hours. It’s awesome to watch someone’s home creation become a business.
Take out only New York style pizza. I almost always do take out these days so have a good pizza place close to home is awesome. The owners are really nice and working hard to build this business.
Sacramento local my entire life and always have craved a good New York pie as authentic as you can get. Going to Johnny 's New York Pizza did not disappoint! No more driving 45 minutes to an hour out side of the county to grab a good pie. Johnny's New York Pizza has hands-down, the best New York pie in Sacramento!
Halal pepperoni pizza is soooo delicious. It’s everything you want in a pizza—melty cheese, yummy tomato sauce, you can really taste the quality in the ingredients—we were looking forward to trying Johnnys pizza and he did not disappoint!! He also called me to confirm some delivery instructions which I appreciated :) we will be back!
We get pizza every valentine's day and this year we picked Johnny’s! This is our second time ordering but 1st time picking up from the store. Really excited for you guys and pizza was just as good as the first time. It reheats just fine too!

Grabbed some pizza by the slice (only available on Friday and Saturday) and it was delicious! 😋 We will be back!! Happy to have some quality pizza down the street.
We've promptly been back twice since we tried them. Delicious and flavorful. Try the Tony Soprano, the Ricotta paired with the hot honey takes it to a whole new level.
This place makes great NY style pizza, and at a very good price. The dough/crust is super good and has lots of flavor, with lots of microbubbles and some big ones. The bake is well done in a very hot oven. My only critique compared to what I've had in NYC is that the cheese is a bit much, but that hardly detracts from the pizza—it is still very good. This'll probably be my go-to pizza place in Rocklin from now on. Good work Johnny and team!
This takeout pizza parlor is the best within 500 mile radius. I’ve eaten too many pizza restaurants Northern California Southern California. This is the best. This is the closest you’re gonna get to New York style pizza. It’s delicious. That’s all I can say. It’s well worth the money and the time it takes for them to make your pizza
I’ve been eating at Johnnys ever since they took over this place. I was stubborn and didn’t order back when it was more of a cult following (Blame the Chicago in me.) The pizza that comes out of there will crave your satisfaction and leave you craving for more. The place is busy during peak hours. So expect to wait a little. If you want to cry about it, I suggest ordering before the dinner rush. I look forward to this place growing. Da Bears!
Nice place. Really good NY style pizza. Certainly the best you're going to get in the area. I would eat here if I lived in the area.
Pizza is 5 stars, so let's start right there. 4 stars is because of the wait and side order. 1) Garlic Bread was trash, 100%. Definitely not what the pictures show online. Thick dough, huge crest and hat dry. 2) Service has pretty bad. Waited over an hour to service my pizza. Place wasnt busy. And yes, I'm 100% aware of when door dash orders come through. No listed phone number, so no phone orders. With having said all of that, if he want a GREAT GREAT NY style pizza then this is the place to go. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. Red sauce is the best. Sweet and savory.
Damn good pizza, got a pepperoni and jalapeno and it was perfect. The crunch, the greasy cheese. It was just as good the next day, cold and tossed in a pan. They couldn't be nicer either. If you live even an hour away it's worth it.
Super disappointed, heard great things about the pizza and I wanted it to be great. Ordered for pick up at 5pm, time indicated 6pm for pick up. Requested well done. Arrived at 5:55 and appears the pizza hadn't been started yet. Took another 15 minutes before they brought it out (they were semi busy, I get it). Got home (less then 10 minutes), pizza was not well done, in fact it was very floppy, almost soggy, with sparse pepperoni. Not what I expected, maybe an off night.
First time customer here. I ordered a half combo and half sopranos pizza. While I was at the register, I spoke with an employee who was very friendly and excited to have a new first time customer. I paid, tipped, and took my pizza home. Got the wife and kids ready to eat and then realized that they got my order wrong - half combo, half pepperoni… not sopranos. I called back to report the issue, and they said I could either drive back down and buy a whole entire new sopranos pizza with a whopping $3 discount, or save it to use as essentially store credit for the next pizza I buy in the future. That’s a pretty pathetic compensation considering the Sopranos pizza I paid for costs $4 more than the pepperoni pizza I received. I’m bummed out because the pizza is good, but the customer service I received for this issue actually blows my mind how bad it is. Can’t support a business that treats first time customers like that. 11/20/2025 @6pm
