We went to Lei Garden to celebrate Chinese New Year - Year of the Dragon. The restaurant was full and very loud. To be expected, as everyone was there to celebrate. The menu was great. Food quality was top tier. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. If you are looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant, this is a wonderful choice.
It's the final day of the festival and I decided to come here for lunch. I really enjoyed their service, everything is at such a speed. The moment we arrived the front desk lady made us seated and the menu in hand. While we were seated she asked what we would like to drink and it was in no time right in front of us. We gave our order on the menu and in no time while we were sipping jasmine tea one by one the dishes came in. Literally it's like a factory line where everything is so synchronized that not a single fault as one moves the second will pick it up and hence customers enjoy the food while one by one the food is delivered at your table. I don't remember waiting for my food. Everything was so delicious that I was busy eating. My friend and I ordered dimsum, and the dessert, cute bunny coconut dessert was a good one and others, more to come in the pictures. You have to visit this place because few desserts they have which other dimsum places don't have. I highly recommend this place.
Best dim sum place I've been to in a while. Wide selection of dishes on the menu. All dim sum came out very quickly, but at the time everything was fresh and hot, as if it were just made. All dishes were top notch quality too; nothing fell apart when picked up with chopsticks or mid bite. Egg custard baos are a must try! Restaurant overall was very clean and staff were very courteous and diligent. Five stars all around!
This was one of the best Chinese meals I've had in the US. Amazing and authentic. Stepping in and tasting the food, it's as if I've been transported back to Asia. Of course don't expect any exemplary service or any small talk here. Service is akin to restaurants in Hong Kong. The manager, server and chefs speak Cantonese. That's how you know it's legit.
We came all the way here for their dim sum. To my surprise, I just had the most authentic taste of HK dim sum I have tried in California yet. After trying their dim sum, I could say this restaurant was the real deal. The price was okay for us as we compared them to the dim sum restaurants we have visited. Not that much difference but better taste. The restaurant’s decorations tells you right away which cuisine you’ll be having. Very Chinese-looking! The staff was fast and attentive. As long as you waved, you’re bound to get the attention of one waiter and they will try their best to fulfill your request even though they’re a bit understaffed.
The excellent service starts from the waiting. The front desk Joey is a professional waitress who handles the waiting list promptly and accurately. She always smiles. This restaurant always has a long waiting list. Customers usually wait for at least half an hour. Smile cures all their impatience. Of course, food quality and quantity are important, too. 2/9/2025 Restaurant celebrated Happy New Year with Lion Dance. Amazing.
My return home was made exceptionally special, thanks to a surprise lunch date at Lei Garden, orchestrated by my thoughtful husband right after picking me up from the airport. This gesture, combined with the joy of seeing my beloved dog and spouse again, was wonderfully augmented by the promise of indulging in Lei Garden’s unparalleled dim sum - a culinary highlight we always look forward to. Lei Garden has cemented its place in our hearts as the ultimate destination for quality dim sum. The restaurant’s commitment to excellence is evident in every dish served. Our favorites were presented steaming hot, a testament to their freshness and the kitchen’s dedication to delivering the best dining experience. The flavors were as comforting and delightful as ever, making each bite a reminder of why we keep coming back. The staff at Lei Garden deserves special mention for their exceptional service. Their long-standing presence suggests a loyalty and consistency that’s rare to find. Their attentiveness is remarkable; a quick glance their way guarantees immediate assistance, making us feel valued and well-cared for throughout our meal. A noteworthy instance of their exemplary service occurred when, in my jet-lagged state, I mistakenly wrote a $200 tip on the bill. Demonstrating honesty and integrity, the staff promptly found us at the door to verify the amount. This act of kindness and honesty was deeply appreciated and speaks volumes about the character of Lei Garden’s team. Lei Garden is not just a restaurant; it’s a haven of delightful culinary experiences, underscored by genuine hospitality and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It’s our preferred spot for celebrating the simple joys of life with good food and great company. Our latest visit was a reminder of the many reasons we cherish this place. Heartfelt thanks to Lei Garden for another unforgettable dining experience and for upholding the highest standards of food quality and service. Five stars all the way!
This is one of the best dim sum places in the bay! I visited twice and tried different things, and everything I tried was very on point and super fresh. We especially enjoyed the egg tarts, chicken feet and the BBQ pork. Avoid going there on Sundays for lunch tho, the queue is very long. Weekdays are fine!
Lei Garden is the BEST DIM SUM restaurant in Bay Area and includes New York. I grew up eating dim sum in Hong Kong, so I am a picky eater, and I can tell the difference of authentic Chinese food or not. Lei Garden has the freshest and most delicious dim sum that I have eaten in America. I mean Authentic Dim Sum also. My husband and I lived in New York, Florida, and many States that also have dim sum restaurants. But we think Lei Garden has the best dim sum. Food came out very fast. We get seated very fast and the customer service is excellent. Owners and waiters are very friendly, and they work hard to make sure customers are well taken care of. This place is very clean. From now on, we will only eat dim sum in Lei Garden. Their dinner is also very tasty. I am so happy that I don’t need to fly back to Hong Kong to eat authentic tasty dim sum. We just need to drive to Lei Garden.
We picked this restaurant for a family reunion dinner. We used to come here for dim sum only but today we decided to try their dinner menu. We have had one of the best Chinese meal here. The dishes are packed with incredible flavor, and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The food is consistently outstanding and full of authentic taste. Their roasted duck is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with tasted sauce. Lei Garden strikes the perfect balance between a refined dining experience and the comforting essence of home-cooked Chinese meals. While the service can be a bit slow at times, the amazing quality of the food more than makes up for it.
I went there for dim sum group of 7 to 8 people. Expect to wait a bit. Dim sum is delicious. Waiters sometime confuse our tea choice. Restroom need clean & upgrade. Sometimes you have to park on street. Overall dim sum is great better than Dynasty in Cupertino.
Spacious restaurant with yummy authentic dim sum with extra oomph. The fish cheung fun with cilantro was superb, as were the seafood dumplings and soup dumplings. The char shiu puff pastry buttery and super light. The fried fish was delightful and the fried pumpkin with salted egg yolk original. The kai lan with oyster sauce cooked just right. Service was gracious and quick. Highly reccomend!
They now have outdoor seating in their parking lot with individual tents for group of three or more. During busy time, group of two will get a smaller table nearby the tent without roof. Service might be slow as they cannot roll the cart to serve plates and take the dirty ones away, due to regulation by local health authority.
Lei Garden in Cupertino has quickly become one of my go-to spots for quality Chinese cuisine. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their dim sum is especially outstanding—everything from the har gow to the siu mai is perfectly made with a great balance of texture and taste. Service is friendly and attentive, and the staff always makes you feel welcome. The ambiance is clean, modern, and comfortable, great for both casual lunches and special family dinners. Whether you’re craving classic Cantonese dishes or something new, Lei Garden delivers with authenticity and care. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates real Chinese flavors in a comfortable and inviting setting!
Tasty dimsum at reasonable price Really appreciate the menu with pictures and descriptions in English Not cramped like some other Chinese restaurants When ordering tea, specifically tell the waiter which person is having tea otherwise everyone at the table will be charged for tea.
One of the better dim sum options in Bay Area. Food is consistently good. Service is quick and efficient. Frequent customer and will continue to come back for dim sums.
We went for dim sum on a Sunday morning near 11am, which is a busy time. We were seated rapidly and the service was attentive and speedy. All the dishes were excellent, especially the roast duck, beef in rice roll, and pan fried turnip. The sauce for pot stickers brought back memories of China. The room was noisy, including children.
Great dim sum restaurant with a good variety of food items. Reasonable in price and pretty good portions. Plenty of parking and stores around the restaurant. Great family tables.
One of the best dim sum locations in the bay area! Their siu mai (pork, shrimp, and mushroom dumpling) is second to none in comparison to any of the other restaurants in the bay I've tried. Their hargow (shrimp dumpling) and lobo gao (turnip cake) are also very good, along with all the other normal staples of dim sum. They also have some unique creations that are very tasty; highly recommend the almond sesame balls, and char siu in the baked sweet bun! Also a great spot for lunch or dinner, with a wonderful selection of seafood and other dishes. Recommend bringing friends and large parties here for entertaining, or even ordering catered amount of food for entertaining.
Legit great Hong Kong dim sum (Hong Kong standard great). Heard about this place since moving to Bay Area, finally got chance to try it. See pics for food we ordered. Order list is on the little white paper in 2nd pic. To get seat. Go to the back of restaurant, find the guy to write down name/no of people and have him give u a little paper with your number. Get busy after 11ish & before 1 am.
Good cantonese cuisine is getting hard to find in silicon valley. But this place is good. They have the Hallmark of a Cantonese seafood restaurant, tanks of live fish. We had an excellent meal for a large party. Service is fast, efficient and friendly. The last attribute, you don't usually find in Chinese restaurant. Have plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices too.
Definitely consider calling to reserve beforehand, this place gets packed and for good reason. Great food, fast service.
By far the best and most consistent Chinese food in the Bay Area. Have been coming here for almost two decades and it never disappoints. Highly recommended!
So glad they started doing take out and outdoor dining. I was worried my favorite south bay dim sum place may close forever 🥺 Everything is done well but my favorite here is their Siu Mai. I grew up in HK and has always been disappointed by other places. The outdoor dining set up is very safe. Each table has their individual tent with one side wide open for air flow (except one small table for two that only has a sun umbrella). For Dine in, you check in at a temporary cart where the tents are in the parking lot. Take out/pick up is at the main entrance. Lunch is first come first serve so there'll likely be a wait during rush hour with the reduced capacity. You order with the menu paper where they steam/cook to order (no carts outdoor). Don't come extremely hungry since you'll have to wait for the food to come out. Glad to see local small business survive during covid. Get takeout to support them!
great place to get dim sum in Cupertino. Been going g ro the place now for a couple of years.
Came for dinner and enjoyed their Jasmine Tea, Mongolian Beef, Salt & Pepper Pork, Lei Vermacelli. Their fish in chili sauce needed more flavor. The service was excellent! Their bathrooms were very clean. Like extra clean. Lots of space between tables. They had lots of sanitizers everywhere. At the end instead of fortune cookies, they have our kids some sesame ball treat!
Authentic cantonese food, in a nice setting. Our kids love the free boiled peanuts and pickled cabbage. Try the daily soup, reliably delicious. They usually have fresh crab and lobsters, yummy in noodles. There are a good amount of vegetarian dishes. The staff, especially the main lady, are very friendly and remember our choices.
It was the first time for me and I liked it ,but it wasn't amazing. The food was fresh, healthy, and lightly seasoned. Clean all around. They brought out the food quickly ,but I didn't care for how they'd push your hand aside and say , no!no! " When I helped turn the order menu for them . Thats when they cross off the orders individually. Might or might not go back.
We had 5 items ordered for 2 of us: BBQ Pork Noodle Roll with XO sauce Chicken Feet (x4) Pork Xiao Long Bao (x4) Paigu aka Steamed Pork Ribs (bone-in) Radish Cake All were made very well. The noodle rolls with XO sauce are always tasty. Prices are acceptable. The ambiance is ok, not great but not bad. Overall our favorite dim sum restaurant in San Jose.
Stopped by Lei Garden on a Sunday morning at 10am. It was a little busy, but still plenty of seats available for a party of two. We were shown to a table and ordered about five dim sum dishes from the paper menu. Food started arriving pretty quickly and continued coming as they were ready. Food was good and service was quick. We paid for our check before I was fully done and they started to clear the table, including my plate, but stopped when I said I was still going to finish the little bit that was left. By the time we left, there was a line at the door and the parking lot was pretty full. We would come again.
We came on a Sunday around 12:30pm thinking we would be in the 2nd seating of the day, since there is the "at opening" crowd before noon. It was very packed. (Note: there is a queue both inside and outside of the restaurant) We noted lots of families and friends gathering here so I was reassured that we would not be disappointed. The greeter estimated a 20 minute wait. Actual wait was double that estimate. However, the food was very good. The fried items were crisp and light and did not leave big oil stains on the paper cup/plate. The taro puff had a nice inside filling: taro ratio. The sesame mochi eaten later that afternoon was not greasy either. The steamed items were prepared well. The lotus leaf sticky rice at other restaurants might be a large square with lots of mochi rice and a layer of filling. This one had nice pieces of meat and mushroom inside 3 smaller leaf wraps, which perfumed the rice and delivered a satisfying filling to outside starch ratio. The rice rolls and siu mai all included generous amounts of filling/meat. At other dim sum places one is left with the impression that they are eating sparsely decorated chewy rice rolls. The shrimp/chive dumpling filling was very tasty. The dumpling skin was thicker than we usually like to eat so you could fine a few empty shells left on our small plates. I'm impressed that this place can keep its high standard for 15+ years. We used to come here when our kids were in elementary school and taking piano and swim classes nearby. Now our young adult children say they don't remember this place but enjoyed the dim sum and will be back. For the reliability as a good dim sum venue I give the food 4.5 stars. Ambience=5. Service=3.
There is a good variety of dim sum. The dim sum didn’t taste that good - it’s probably cause they were seating out for a bit the only thing that came warm were the fried pumpkins and milk. Most Dim Sum were cold by time it arrived table they didn’t taste that good or “fresh”. I’m not sure if it’s the AC, but most food were not warm.
Came in at 12:30pm for lunch on a Wednesday . No problems with the free parking lot and we were immediately seated. Ordered aome Fried Shrimp Balls, Crispy Shrimp Rice Rolls, Swet & Sour Pork, Ribeye Garlic & Veggies, Fish Fillet & Black Bean Sauce and Fried Rice. The fried shrimp balls were not good, the meat was off and the sauce was no good, however the Crispy Shrimp Rice Rolls were outstanding and very nice. The rest of the food were very solid and good. Service was solid, some orders were forgotten but generally fine. Atmosphere was good, not overally noisy and good for big groups and conversations. One order was forgoytten
A good Chinese restaurant doesn’t get 5 stars, if it’s a 5 star Chinese restaurant, it’s not good, hence the 4 stars. Food is good here, apparently made in house. Service is great, they refilled our tea without asking. Food came at a good pace. Atmosphere wise, it’s a Chinese restaurant, so yeah it’s loud hence but you can still hear your own table and the table next to you.
We were in the area for some business meetings that ended quite late. So, we looked around for a restaurant. My husband said he wanted to have dimsum. We tried this place. Wow! Their food is really good. Authentic, traditional, no nonsense well-prepared and presentable dishes. They did all the classics very very well. The service was friendly even if we did not speak any Chinese. They were polite but formal. We went away very satisfied. I’d go back when I’m in the area again!
Food and service are very good by any standard and easily exceed most dim sum places nearby. Shrimp are a bit larger than average; har gow and cheung fun contain 2 partial pieces of shrimp, down from when they used to be one large piece. Ham sui gok is served hot with a thin crispy outer layer that envelops a not-too-thick chewy inner layer that cradles the delicate, salty filling. The staff are efficient and pleasant but not excessively so; very good for a dim sum restaurant! Tables are not too close together though at times, the noise level can be substantial enough to make it hard to hear across the table. It is dim sum, after all!
For Dimsums the go to place. Food taste was good. Ambience not so good. Too noisy. Service was average so overall giving Food the highest weightage rating 4 stars
Every time I have eaten here I have always enjoyed the dim sum. It's not the cheapest but the portion sizes are good and the decor is pleasing. The restaurant is usually crowded but fortunately not so crowded that you have to wait to be seated. We ordered the usual: Shrimp Dumpling 🥟 Shrimp & Pork Dumpling Pork Ribs in Black Bean Sauce 🐖 Scallop & Pea Sprouts Dumpling 🫛 Fried Tofu Stuffed Shrimp 🍤 Fried Stuffed Eggplant 🍆 The stuffed dim sum dishes are quite expensive ($11.95 each 💸) but we really enjoyed them because some other dim sum restaurants don't have them.
Great food, the duck wings is my favorite and close to home
Came here during the reopening of outdoor dining with my parents for brunch and man was the wait long -- about an hour at 11:30! I really enjoyed the eventual experience though and the food actually came quite quickly -- my favorite was the fried durian balls. The shumai and the fried shrimp rolls were also stellar. Overall. quite filling and the staff were nice even though they were extremely busy. The black sesame balls for dessert were pretty sweet as well.
After COVID, this place is returning to as good as before. Dim sum is good; baked bbq buns for example.
Very good dim sum restaurant with good size portions and taste genuine albeit pricey! Nicely and conveniently located in the middle of Competition!
This review is for Sunday dim sum. Solid 4 stars in my opinion. We arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday morning, right at the peak of any dim sum restaurants busy hours. There was plenty of parking in the area, even at this time. As a small party of 2, we were sat within 15 minutes. Larger parties were waiting about 20-30 minutes. There are no more carts, instead items are made to order and brought out by servers on large trays. You fill out a menu card complete with a full picture menu - helpful if you're not sure of what you're looking for, and be sure to get a waiters attention as soon as you're done. The dim sum is fresh and made to order. I'd say the quality of the food is very good, better than average, but nothing really stood out as outstanding. Lei's fulfilled our dim sum craving and I would recommend this place and already have a date set for coming back. Wait staff is attentive and prompt. Food is decently priced and comes to your table hot and fresh. The variety is very good and you're sure to find your favorite Cantonese dim sum delights.
A solid place for Chinese food in the area. From the photos and reviews, it seems like this place is known for their dim sum option but we came for dinner on a Tuesday. We got the braised pork, salt and pepper pork, egg soup and tofu mushroom dish. Everything was very tasty. Portions are nicely sized. Parking is very easy with a big lot. Service is fine. Servers are friendly. Overall: Will return for Chinese food. A good place to bring family since its clean and spacious.
The restaurant was clean and decor was fine, but the restaurant was a bit short staffed, so service was a bit slow. The combination BBQ platter that we ordered was mostly great except the roasted pork, whose skin was not crispy and the meat was also tough to bite into. The baked sea bass didn't taste fresh and was quite disappointing. However, the friend rice was very good. Despite the shortcomings, this restaurant is still a solid Chinese restaurant.
We went for dinner. The food took a while to come out, but everything was hot and fresh. They brought you compliments soaked peanuts and pickles cabbage. It was a good start, cabbage was crunchy had a nice light sour taste from the vinegar. Peanuts soft and flavorful The Peking duck (4 out of 5) was delicious. Buns were very fluffy, the duck was moist and flavorful. Really good. Everything together was delicious highly recommend. Meat was very tender and mosit Prawns and pumpkin salted egg yolk (3.5 out of 5). The prawns were delicious. Huge prawns very well seasoned. The batter was really crispy. The dish is pretty oily as it was deep fried. Could only eat a few pieces as it was heavy. The pumpkin was really good too. As good dish to share with lots of people. I got tired of it pretty quickly. Satay broccoli beef chow fun (2 out of 5) was very wet. Not too much flavor and was a bit over cooked. Had a few small chunks of pineapple. Complimentary pineapple bun with custard filling (4 out of 5), delicious. Careful really hot custard, burnt my mouth a bit. But very delicious . Chewy fluffy sweet and savory
Good place but super expensive for the food quality.
Came by at their last hour for lunch. Fast service, back of house and most of front of house folks were nice and fast. There was a front of house server/host who was snooty from our tipping, which soured our experience. Our tip was mostly based on most of food being bland except for the rice noodles, which were bouncy and sauced well. Even the tea was bland. Tips should be based on how we feel our experience of your service, not what a certain server feels entitled to. This one experience was more than enough.
I had the opposite experience of F Z. I enjoyed dinner so much I came back the next day for dim sum and was disappointed. Anything with a rice flour wrapper was mushy and fell apart and stuck to the steamer basket. The inside of the ha gao was the kind that's just a shrimp and not a shrimp fish ball, which I usually appreciate, but here it was dry. The chiu chou dumpling was cold on the inside, the flavor was bland, and the texture was slimy, and not in a good way. The fish filet red rice cheong fun had perfectly-cooked fish but the rice roll was just a pile of gelatinous slime. The dishes I had for dinner that I enjoyed: Abalone and soft tofu, and braised tofu and black mushroom. I got 6 small abalone which isn't bad considering the price. Unfortunately the tofu in both dishes was fried. The tofu in the abalone dish was the round "egg" style, and the braised tofu was the more common rectangular blocks. The shiitake in the braised tofu was the usual reconstituted from dried (I'm spoiled by the ability to get fresh shiitake from 99 Ranch or at shabu shabu) but still pretty tender considering. 2 dishes for dinner came out to ~$60 before tip. 3 dishes and tea for dim sum came out to ~$34 before tip. Kirin in Mountain View is better for dim sum and just as good for dinner.
We got there at 1 pm, but some of the food served was already cold. Also, we never once saw the har gau or siu mai cart. Their loop is pretty small, so the same server would ask us if we want the same items within a 5 -10 min timeframe. Some did not speak English but the waiters were quick to help. The quality, other than the cold food, was average.
Food is good, but huge room of improvement on their services, as we ordered way too much (almost double the portion 10 of us can be stuffed), which they should remind us upfront. P.S. asked them to cancel part of our orders in the middle of serving, but they just kept on going, not cool
Come here for dim sum, but avoid dinner. My experience with this restaurant is quite mixed. I came here for dim sum and enjoyed it very much—the dim sum was pretty decent, and the service was satisfactory. However, when I returned for dinner another day, I was very disappointed. It felt like a completely different restaurant. On a Friday evening, the place was half empty, and the food was mediocre. The roast duck was barely warm. The most disappointing aspect was the service. We ordered steamed live fish, and as is customary in Cantonese restaurants, the staff should inform the customers of the fish's weight and show it to them before cooking. Our waiter forgot to do this, and we noticed him showing the fish to two other tables. When we inquired with the manager, we were told that because we didn’t ask to see the fish, they didn't notice us the fish weight and show it to us. Having grown up in China and frequented many Cantonese restaurants, I knew this was just an excuse for their oversight. A simple apology would have sufficed, but instead, the manager came over twice to educate us on how to tell if a steamed fish was live. I came to enjoy my dinner, not to attend a class on fish. I won’t be returning for dinner. Dim sum? May be.
Dined here recently after a ten year absence. At that time they had the carts and the food was served piping hot and fresh. Now you order from a menu. I suppose they'll blame covid...The food was ok. Service was basic, they just dropped the items at our table. Shouldn't expect any more. One major annoyance was the "15% service charge" added to our bill. I suppose this is the tip. We only had a party of three, not eight. And the 15% was calculated based on the subtotal AND the tax. Then they had the gall to add the annoying calculation of 15%, 18%, 20% addition, hoping I wouldn't notice the service charge. We dropped $168.00 for three of us. Granted we were hungry and over ordered but still, the food was just ok and the "service charge" made the experience disappointing. On a side note, restaurants should rethink adding service charges and calculated tips, resistance is beginning to develop.
I have been here many many times, used to rate it as five star, a little pricey but the food was great. In the most recent trip, I found the food degraded quite a bit and the price elevated, complete mismatch, very disappointed.
If you go to the restaurant alone, I suggest you choose another place. You can experience very bad service attitude from the moment you enter the door. Take me to a table that hasn't been cleaned up, and let me watch them clean up. Then when they ask me for pay up, just throw the bill on the table. So, I won't go to this restaurant again.
Very mediocre Cantonese food, $$$$, with poor service and staff that tries to upsell and rip you off. Our family spent $100+ per person for a banquet meal. The rude waiter upsold us a more expensive fish for the steamed fish on our set menu insisting that we had to pay more and that they didn’t have the base priced fish. The fish came out and it was not fresh, tasted muddy, and we complained. He said “too bad, it already has been cooked and came out.” He was extremely rude and didn’t try at all to remedy the situation. This was a really disappointing meal at a restaurant that really doesn’t care about its customers, or if they are serving quality food. This place has historically been a go to place for many families in Cupertino, but no more. We will not be coming back.
This place is extremely inefficient. We arrived early in the morning and were seated quickly. Despite ordering the most common dim sums, it took over 30 minutes for the first dishes to arrive. The last two dishes took another 20-25 minutes. We felt terrible for those waiting outside. As the first group of customers, we arrived around 10:20 am and left at 12:15 pm, spending most of the time waiting for food. The food was just so-so, nothing special. We won't be returning and don't recommend coming here on weekends. It's a waste of time.
I recently visited Lei Garden on a Sunday morning for dim sum, hoping for a delightful culinary experience. Unfortunately, my overall impression of the establishment was rather disappointing. While the food was passable, there were some significant drawbacks that left a sour taste in my mouth. Let's start with the positive aspects. The dim sum dishes I sampled were decent, although nothing extraordinary. The flavors were acceptable, but I noticed an excessive amount of salt in several dishes, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. While personal preferences can vary, it was disappointing that the flavors were not well-balanced and tended to lean towards the salty side. Regrettably, the real downfall of my experience was the abysmal service. The waiter assigned to my table was not only impolite but also physically aggressive. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected throughout the meal, as I was pushed around instead of being treated with basic courtesy. Such behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. To address my concerns, I approached the manager and expressed my dissatisfaction with the service. However, I was met with indifference and a lack of concern. It was disheartening to see the manager dismiss my feedback, as it indicated a lack of accountability and a disregard for customer satisfaction. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this dim sum restaurant. While the food was passable despite the excess saltiness, the abhorrent service overshadowed any positives. The rude and aggressive behavior from the waiter, coupled with the manager's lack of responsiveness, created an unwelcoming atmosphere that I will not subject myself to again. It is my hope that the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously, addresses the shortcomings in their service, and strives for improvement. Until then, I would advise seeking alternative dining options to ensure a more pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Had a terrible experience at Lei Garden. The chairs were ridiculously old, with the seat and legs separated. When I tried to pull the chair forward, my hand got stuck between the seat and the legs, and my fingers were crushed, turning purple and even breaking the skin. I told the host, and he just said, “Let me get you a band-aid?” Another server tried replacing the chairs, but both were broken as well. This happened before the food even came, and no one bothered to check on us until we left. Poor facilities and worse service attitude.
Very rude waiter and bad service. I had late lunch in this place around 2:15 pm. I understand they are closing soon, but the asks me to leave even I haven’t finished my food. I paid tip, but the waiter was reluctant to pack the food for me. And yell to me, I think this place is become very rude now. Do not come!
1STAR… down from a 4STAR! (+) Dim Sum used to be GOOD here with FAIR PRICING. (+) Customer Service used to be courteous n humble here too! NOW 2022 (-) Dim Sum tastes average or mediocre, n PRICING IS TOO HIGH (>$6, 8, 10 per plate!) (-) Be warned that CHEF’S SPECIALS are NOTHING like the pictures on the Menu! (-) LACKING presentation or plating in any dishes (-) OVER $30, 40, 50 per person n you are STILL HUNGRY! (-) Service was BAD n RUDE with ATTITUDES n ARROGANT! When we inquired the waiter about the LACKING ingredients in our CHEF’S SPECIAL DISHES, they responded with DENOUNCING N HAUGHTY remarks like “THAT’S THE WAY IT IS!” n “THE PICTURES ON THE MENU ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY! THEY DO NOT APPLY HERE!” Their PERSISTENT N ARROGANT TONES were VERY DEGRADING, which made us VERY uncomfortable n disappointing! They sounded like we were BEGGING FOR MORE FOOD! We paid n left without finishing our meals. A GOOD restaurant is about FINE foods. But MORE IMPORTANT, it’s about GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICES! WITHOUT CUSTOMERS, fine foods are worthless n undesirable!
