Opinions de GK Mongolian BBQ Sacramento
The spiritual successor to Great Wall BBQ, which used to be one of my favorite Mongolian BBQ places. Glad I decided to stop in. They have a great selection of veggies and use a similar style of frozen meat slices that GW used too. Don’t knock it till you try it as it cooks deliciously on the big grill. Lots of veggie selections to add on and best is the selection of sauces. If you’ve never been it may take you a try or two to get the right mix for your tastes. But they have really good options and the bowl I made was fantastic and reminded me of my favorites. I use about 8-10 scoops of sauce total, maybe 6 dark sauce scoops (your choice), a scoop of garlic, and 2 scoops of the cooking wine along with a half scoop of the cooking oil. It makes for a darker but tasty sauce with enough that they don’t have to use water on the grill. That’s important as it will dilute your flavors if you don’t have enough liquid. The meals come with a small bowl of soup, rice, and some sweet fried dough with sauce. I mention GW because this is pretty much exactly what they provided there too so I wonder if the owners have some past connection. The price is very reasonable and it’s probably worth doing the all you can eat. Highly recommended!
I have been to multiple Mongolian BBQ places in Sacramento and I must say the cooks in this restaurant are by far the best in my opinion. They have a great selection of meats and also sea food such as shrimp and lobster for an additional fee that I am happy to pay for. Thank you guys for always proving a great atmosphere and great food that always hits the spot.
Came in and was clueless, but the Employees are very welcoming. You make yourself a bowl, like a buffet line, so the taste is always different depending on how you make it. I came around the time they switched from lunch to buffet, so I paid for the wrong meal. I was willing to pay again full price, but the owner has great integrity and let me pay for the remaining meal price. Edit: Safe to say, it was delicious
The atmosphere is a little bare bones, but the ingredients are a nice variety and always super fresh when they first open up. The bowls are generous and not plastic. The food stays piping hot the entire time you're eating it. The soda comes in a glass cup, which is downright miraculous. The most surprising thing is the service, which is amazing! At the old school Mongolian BBQ places you saw a server once and that was it. But, this place has table service and will offer refills on drinks. Very attentive. The only complaint I really have is that I don't like how the cost of the bowl isn't SUPER visible, like the other posters they have on the walls including "add shrimp for $4." $15 is not a bad deal for a bowl, a bowl of rice, soup and a dumpling.
Honestly this place is really good for the portion size and the quality. The portion size is absolutely huge. You can pretty much get as much as you want whether it can be from the veggies, to the noodles, and the meat. Only thing is you gotta make sure it can all fit in the bowl you put in and if it can't fit in the bowl then you would have to take some off to make sure it fits in the bowl. The customer service was good. Got greeted by a worker when I walked in and got asked how I was doing and when leaving got a compliment and said to have a nice day. Overall would highly recommend this place to others and would definitely come back 👍 Good stuff GK yall can take my 15 dollars any day when I'm in the area!
I just loved this place ♥️ Customer service was great, since I opened the door. Beautiful, clean, doesn't smell bad, even though food is always on the making and of course AWESOME food. Will definitely be back with the whole family ♥️
This was my first time visiting, but I had a good impression! Very welcoming and friendly staff, clean and tidy tabletop and enough portions. I will go again! The only downside may be that their pork pot stickers are not very tasty haha
Came in, right when they opened. Yummy Mongolian BBq! Always add a little more sauce than they list bc I did and my dish turned out great. I was surprise they dont have hot oil or spicy sauce to add in while cook but they did have fresh jalapeno. There was siracha, hot oil, n pepper sauce on the seated table for added spice which still worked out if u want ur dish spicy. Along with ur customized bowl they serve a bowl of soup, white rice, a potsticker which were a luke warm but still tasted good. The bowl size is a little smaller than other places but I was still full. Also, keep in mind there is only one bathroom stall. Spent about 30 min inside. Great service! Will come back again.
The food is solid but what made this place stand out for me from other Mongolian restaurants that I have been too was the service. They kept the water and soup flowing. Super nice staff and the chefs brought our bowls to us when they were ready. And this was 1 hour before they closed definitely will be back again.

The food selection is awesome. The cook created a masterpiece for me. The front waiter helper was so polite and kind. I felt very welcomed.
Food was amazing and the service was top notch. I don’t get the people complaining about a mess, obviously things get a bit messy when it’s a buffet style restaurant where people try to stack their bowls. 10/10 would reccomend again
A good selection of meats, veggies, and sauces to choose from. It's a fair price point compared to other fast/casual places, especially if you get in at lunch price or go for a second bowl. Staff was very friendly. The food line and dining area were kept pretty clean.

I went here on my drive from SLO to Seattle. The staff was super welcoming. It’s a buffet style and there were good meat choices. It also comes with a side of rice, soup, wontons and sweat and sour sauce and a chicken potsticker thing. The sides were okay but the main dish was really good.
Have a buffet style to make your own bowl. Very delicious and so many ways to combine meals, I was also served a bowl of rice, soup and pop stickers. Would come eat here again
I have been eating at Genghis Khan Mongolian BBQ for 20 years since Ronnie and Timmy ran them. I love there food. The ingredients and the system are consistent. The atmosphere is just how Timmy planned it. But if you order here through an app or don't make it yourself expect food you didn't order, in the masses, to just be added ad-lib concoction style to your dish (their preferences), with no consideration for allergens. Leaving you with only appetizers. Sure, I'm sure they like their stuff like this, but other people are not always able to eat it the way you eat it. That's why they didn't add that to their selection. Be ready to throw your food out and go hungry. Also, the sweet and sour is not a sauce...

Food was filling but not that flavorful. Service was good but they could use more ppl on the grill when there is more then 5 ppl waiting line got piled up pretty fast. It was nice seeing the staff cleaning up the mess the customers made while making their bowls pretty quickly.
I'll start off by saying that the food bar was a filthy mess. Oil station was covered with spilled oil. Seasoning station was no better. The entire place was a mess. The sweetheart Waitree gained them a star. There were 3 groups of 4+ and she was the only person on the floor. She quickly brought rice and tortillas to the table along with bowls of some weird, tasteless soup. The soup wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It just didn't have any taste to it and it was slimy. It ate 2 spoonful but my brother enjoyed it. My brother actually enjoyed everything. You create your own bowl of food so if it's not delicious then it's your own fault. You add your meat, veggies, spices, and flavored oil. My food was phenomenal. I enjoy onions, mushrooms, ribeye steak, green peppers, bean sprouts, garlic, black pepper, and MORE garlic with garlic flavored oil. The tender steak and veggie combination was superb. It's important to let them know if you're doing a "takeout". The takeout bowls are bigger. Pile your bowl high and dive in. Don't forget to tip the guy on the grill. He cooks your bowl to perfection.
Slow and dirty! Slow: Had only one cook and 15 customers waiting in line for their food to be cooked. It takes 3 to 5 minutes each. The promise of all-you-can-eat is simply not satisfying. Dirty: Because the bowls are very small and customers want to pack in as much as possible into each bowl, a lot of food, sauces, and oil spill onto the counter and floor. Staff did not bother to clean up for well over an hour. Many better Mongolian BBQ restaurants in town for cheaper.
Food was good, Service was very welcoming. I wanted the thinner noodles but they only have the thick ones. Make sure to add lots of sauce otherwise you'll be going through the salt shaker real quick. Also this place could be a little more cleaner, there were some bowls with small peices of food stuck to it & floor was not swept, tables were ok (crucially important)

Place is ran by cell phone handling children. Was here for an hour and there is food alllll over counters and floors makes one think how clean the back is actually. The servers stand there looking at the 2 cooks work their butts off the whole time while customers trample all over floor ridden food. The cook was the only one worth a tip or the wages.
