Food was recieved fast and DELICIOUS, fresh and hot. Was seated fast and the service was friendly, was only one guy and was still incredibly fast. I got the adobo manok and it was delicious! We also got Lumpia to share which was perfect.

Simple decor but full of life. We ordered lumpia, a couple of pot stickers, pinakbet, chopsuey, and lemon chickens. Everything was tasty. Staff was quick and attentive. Enjoyed our night. Got it just before it filled up. Timing was perfect

South Villa is one of the oldest Filipino restaurants in the area. The ordered food is cooked fresh and authentic. The family that runs the restaurant are very hard working and they will do their best to make your experience enjoyable, and leave with a full stomach. I’ve been coming here for the past twenty years, and this place is my go-to place for good Filipino food. Now that all of the Filipino food chains have established themselves around the area, South Villa will always be my favorite.

R

Their food are delicious and tasty especially the pancit, honey crispy fried chicken, fish fillet with eggplant and pinakbet. This place is one of my favorite Filipino-Chinese restaurants in Sacramento. They're not open for dine in yet, only orders for take out.

first time ordering here and we ordered the $599 lechon deal with a choice of 5 sides and it was delicious! we will be coming back for sure and all our guests knows where we got the food! happy new year!

C

I love this restaurant and I enjoy their Filipino and Chinese dishes. I highly recommend their filet fish (rock cod) with ginger and scallions with steamed rice. The fish is cooked to perfection. This is a family restaurant and the pride in the quality of the restaurant is evident in every dish we have tasted. Kenneth made us feel welcome and we thought that he and the other employee were very friendly. Theirs is the cleanest and most organized restroom i'd seen. It looks like it may have been newly renovated. We will definitely go back when in town.

Takeout was fresh and out. The fried chicken and salt & pepper fish were outstanding as always.

What is that disappointing you're talking about? All their foods are great tasting, excellent service..... I have been eating there for over 15 years. They catered my party many times, my guests were very impressed and satisfied.

The pancit bihon is so delicious here I have to get it every time I visit! Everything I ever ordered here is so good the Shanghai lumpia as well! There dining room is still not open but they still provide excellent service!

S

I go here for all my Filipino food needs. Been going for decades. Quality food, great tasting and awesome customer service. The lumpia, steak and chicken are the best in Sacramento hands down

J

Everything we ordered was good. The Crispy Chicken especially so. The woman who took my order was very helpful. Looking forward to trying new dishes at this restaurant in the future.

i don't think they're the best, but compared to what's left in Sacramento, this is five-stars. Don't know what's up with Filipino restaurants - if you're food is good, you close down. If it's so-so where I'd rather just eat at home, they stay open.

Very good Filipino food.. and friendly staff.. like they have a buffet that is not very intimidating with so much food choices.. will be back again once we're back in the area..

Best Filipino restaurant in town. My favorite dishes are the Bulalo steak & soup, the Palabok, daing bangus, Laing, explosive beef, and Kare Kare! Food is made to order unlike most Filipino restaurants where they usually serve dishes out of banquet style pans.

I was in a crunch and and needed to order lumpia for a wedding. The lumpia was superb. The place was clean. The staff was nice. Will go again for a sit down meal. Here is a pic of what’s left over. I order 200 pcs. Sorry I meant to take a pic and it came with sauce 😋🥰👏

Best Filipino restaurants in Sacramento! My family and I have been coming to South Villa for at least 10 years. The food is the closest thing to going back home to the Philippines. Few favorites (off the top of my head): Laing, chop suey, crispy pata, sinigang na baboy, pancit, many more. They have a great varity to suit the whole families taste buds.

As someone visiting the city, I wanted to try something new, and this place gave me an authentic taste of the Philippines. The staff explained the ingredients and even told stories behind the dishes. I had laing and lumpia, and both were delicious beyond expectation. The setting felt cultural and welcoming, with traditional décor that added to the experience.

We brought the whole family, kids included, and the staff treated us like old friends. They made sure the little ones had smaller plates and extra rice without us asking. The kare-kare was rich and comforting, while the lumpia disappared from the table almost instantly. The restaurant had a lively, family-friendly feel with laughter and bright colors everywhere.

M

Fried chicken💯💯💯 Generous serving of dishes. If you want to satisfy your Filipino tastebuds come here! Will come back and try more from the menu! I heard their Kare-Kare is very good.

J

An amazing experience from start to finish! The service was top-notch – the staff was attentive without being overbearing, and they were genuinely passionate about the food. The pork barbecue skewers were tender, and the bulalo soup was hearty and comforting. The ambiance was lively and bright, with traditional Filipino touches that added to the charm.

I've been eating here for decades. Delicious food. Kare-kare meat is so tender, and the vegetables are steamed perfectly. Garlic fried rice is fluffy garlicky. The fresh lumpiya serving is huge with a lot of vegetables. I will definitely be back or order online.

Family-owned restaurant that has been in Sac for decades. My favorite place for Filipino food! They also cater and their fried chicken and pancit miki bihon are a staple for our family parties. Consistent flavor every single time! My husband and I especially love their tortang talong and their lumpia.

This review is solely for their Sunday morning brunch buffet. It's about $15 and it includes coffee and all you can eat Filipino style fried chicken among other Filipino staples like garlic fried rice and fancit noodles.

Tried this place for the first time and it was delicious. Ordered the Villa Special (Hong Kong Style) fried noodle and the No. 1 combo plate. Definitely will come again after shipping at the Eco Thrift Store 😁

Good food, good price. Need to fix restrooms to be more presentable. These are pictures of their Sunday Buffet. Very good food options @ $13.95.

Give it a 3 star cause the sizzling sisig was very delicious. aside from that we ordered the fried chicken 16 piece. Was very misleading. in the menu does say 16 piece but its far from truth. We got our order, chicken was soggy, no crunch to it at all. It was actually a 8 piece chicken. They gave us 6 legs, and 10 pieces of thighs that have been chopped up into 3 to 4 pieces from individual thighs. Many of the pieces had no meat on them at all. We will scratch this filipino restaurant off our list of places to revisit.

This is a pretty good restaurant if you want to go out for Asian food. I'd say it's about average in taste, quality, and price but the service is amazing! The staff are really nice and they try to do just the way you want them.

Great food and miss the Sunday buffet and still no dine in...food a little pricey compared to other similar places but still looking forward to eating the authentic filipino food that they cook for almost 2 decades..delicious

The food was okay. Nothing spectacular about it. The 3rd food order took very long so by the time the food was served , I was about done. Tried the food, it was not the expectation I wanted. But the service was good. .

Used to come here regularly for Filipino food, and it was about as good as you can get in Sacramento. It's gone downhill. On our recent visit, bistec was too sweet, and not that tender. Green beans with bagaong was also excessively sweet. Pancit palabok was underseasoned, and didn't seem to have the tinapa and chicharones that usually adds so much to this dish.

n

Food tasted like seasoned cubes . meat wasn’t tender and priced too high for authenticity marinated, wasn’t tender or authentic . Good Vibe but not worth the price

They listed their closing time as 7pm, but when we showed up at 6:22 they told us the kitchen was closing. They had chairs blocking the entrance and piles of old food on a buffet table. They said they could call the chefs back to serve us, which would be crazy. So either they put the wrong hours or the staff just wanted to go home early on a Friday. Either way will never try to go here again.

I ordered a large tray of Barbecue pork Fried Rice on a Friday, Aug 27, 2021 to be pick up Saturday Aug 28 @ 12 noon and was quoted $79.00 plus tax. When I picked up the Fried Rice on Saturday, South Villa jacked up the price to $118. This is a SCAM.

Took at least 5 minutes to be seated, 15-20 minutes until we received our waters (after ordering), and then another 20-25 minutes of waiting for food. Spent $20 on an appetizer of potstickers and a fried chicken (if that's even what it was) cutlet with neon yellow lemon sauce out of jar. Food was overpriced. Terrible service and an overall underwhelming experience so we will not be returning and would not recommend. If I'd choose Panda Express over this place, that's saying something.

I give a one star only for public health concerns regarding the homeless occupants that roam inside. A co worker and I sat yesterday (ordered from here prior) and there was a man that came in with fever, coughing and instructing the host to recommend a soup for his Fever. Stating “I want a soup for my fever.” after the server begin to recommend items the man interrupted him and said “no, I want soup for my fever.” As uncomfortable as I was sitting directly in front of him, I was more concerned with the child that was nearby, whose mother got up and moved them. I am all for feeding all of Gods people. However, in such a compacted environment with others around poses a safety risk. This is how even Covid spreads and other diseases. I mean a common cold is inevitable during this time of year but a Fever and he was an older man. After my co worker became very uncomfortable we decided to take our food to go mid eating. In this situation there should have been options. Simply letting him know that he could be served but in an isolated area or To-go. After he mentioned having a fever twice, that should have been an indicator to move your guest, politely enforce departure or another seat. Placing him directly near others, coughing the way he was, was very ill mannered. Today I woke up not feeling too well and I hope for my sake it is not something I contracted from this experience. I do not post this to deter people away because I do feel the people that run this place are beautiful people at heart, that have always been so kind but a reminder to keep your guest safe at all costs. The food was delicious. We just won’t recommend our department to eat in person, as we serve the community as well and understand these things happen.

Ordered the Kare Kare and Crispy Fried Chicken and both were very dissapointing. The kare kare was watery and the beef pieces were chewy and I had some fat pieces without meat in mine. Portion of the meat was little to none. The crispy fried chicken was not even crispy. it was soggy on the outside and when bit into, the batter didn't seem to be fully cooked through. It was actually pretty gross and lacked seasoning. Easy wasted $$ for food we are not going to finish eating. Will be the first and last time ordering from South Villa.
