The food was fantastic, however this is the second time in less than a week I was disappointed with the woman working the drive through. Comes across slightly rude and unfriendly. 🤷 But zero complaints about the food!
Food was great! Service was great! The exterior of the place could use a face-lift. But overall we were happy. They did give us fries instead of tots but not a big deal things happen. We actually saved 2 burgers to eat later in the night. They were still so good.

I Always go thru drive-thru and always get exactly what I ask for - even extra bags/boxes when I want to split up my order for other people!! (Spend a lot of time at Nursing home, etc). Especially love the apple fritters and Hubby loves the chocolate frosted donuts!!
I frequent this fast food joint often after work several times a week. I have to say that Thomas does an exceptional job at night. Yes, sometimes there can be a wait time, they're always short staffed. However, My food is always made fresh to order as it's advertised, and the very few times something was incorrect, he was quick to resolve said issue and has no attitude when brought to his attention. Thank you Thomas for all that you do!
Sonic in Birch Run has always had really good food and good service. Now because of covid, nobody wants to work so they aren't able to provide car hop service and the wait time for the drive through is extremely slow. The chicken sandwich in the meal is so small, my sons happy meal burger was bigger. Tator tots were delicious! Friendly order taker/cashier. Next visit was fast and so much better! My 6 year old loved the cool shark week slushee! Bright blue coconut flavored with red strawberry syrup amd gummy sharks on top.
Best slushies you can get! Great value as well. Try a cherry slush and make it dirty. You're welcome.
We tried the Pretzel Burger, a double smash with fries, jalapeño poppers, the Flamingo drink, and a Blue Razz slushy with boba pearls, everything was absolutely great. I asked for extra mayo and they definitely delivered; they don’t skimp at all. We went around 6 PM and our food came out quickly. The attendant was polite when we walked out. Overall, a really good experience and we’ll definitely be back when were in town.
Looks like little Bavarian right out of a Hallmark movie. Lots of shopping and food options.
It was my first time being there. It wasn't bad. The person taking the order didn't speak very loud and seemed like we were a bother. She tried to rush us through our order. The person who brought the food to the truck didn't smile and wasn't very polite. We decided to take our food home to eat. My sandwich was smashed. I asked for extra mayo, and there was hardly any on it, and the pickle fries were soggy. There weren't any combo meals, nor kids' meals. We had to pay for everything separately. So feeding 4 people, 2 adults, 2 kids, came to $50.00. I'm not sure if I'd return.
The food was fine, the slushie was great as always. Staff were great though you can tell they are understaffed and have to rush. The bathroom was a mess (the staff was trying but they were backed up past the road) the trash was full. The stuff need more support.
Usually pretty on point. I stop once every 6 months or so. This last visit was the worst I have experienced. Staff was great, but they were out of side options, the firat 2 i tried to order. The burger was solid and very hockey puck like. Not the usual patty. Could be the burger I ordered, but it was not good. I could not finish it. But all else was great.
The food isn't as good as it was 10 years ago, but it's still pretty good. Only drive through in town with tater tots. The drink selection is insane. The speakers need replaced. Edit 9/27 : Pressed the red button, waited 8 minutes, left.
Food is great the staff can be cool but literally they suck at giving change. My change was 16.82, the lady at the window around 2 something of 10/11/25 only gave me 16. Where the hell is the change? I mean okay sure its change but like are they pocketing money? Edit: Now that I think about the lady had my money fold in half along with the receipt so im convinced she purposely didnt give me the change on purpose.

We ordered 2 kids meals and a breakfast meal. Everything was hot but our fries. The fries are way to hard, chewy (rubbery) and cold. They are way past expired time. (Fries were so disappointing.) The worker was direct and tried to get his job done. The atmosphere is a very nice town and in December very festive.
Food was good except my smash burger was in pieces with melted cheese holding it together 😔 a little disappointed tbh cold tater tots and the lady was super rude taking our order ! The young lady who brought our food was very nice 👍 not sure we will go back might give em a another try!

Just okay. Wasn't busy when we went and service was fast. Food was mediocre and the microphone doesn't work very well as the person had a very hard time hearing.
Waited 20 mins for them to come out and say they were out of mozzarella sticks, but we could get something else...decided on onion rings...5 mins later..they say they are out. Settled on chili cheese tots. Then the coke had zero syrup and was clear like water. Why would they even bring out clear "coke"? Waste of time and money. Very disappointed

I had the chili cheese dog and it was good. It came with tater tots of which there was no ketchup. The tater tots were good/okay but not having ketchup was a big disappointment. I don't understand why such a restaurant which advertises so much expressing such great food doesn't list customer service high on the priorities. This Sonic location is drive-thru only. I would think if customer service were high on the list you would ask customers if they would like ketchup. That just doesn't seem to happen nowadays. I do not understand why? My wife had the kids meal with two chicken tenders. She ate the tenders but not many of the fries that came with him. Overall I've never had and experience at a Sonic location that was great. I don't get why this seems like it wants to be a great restaurant but yet ultimately continuously under delivers.
Not a fan of the burgers and or fries defiantly no on the onion rings there sweet.. Gross
So to start out, the staff were pretty nice. The guy with long hair is a bit short with you and tries to get in and out quickly. I get it though. Now to the purpose of this review. The food tasted worse than a frozen dinner. The chicken was very over cooked and dry and the breading had an onion flavor (from cooking in the same old oil as the fried onions most likely) The burger was extremely inedible. There was zero flavor in the burger and the bacon was extremely over cooked and had no flavor. The staff were nice about a refund when I went inside and voiced to them my concerns. That’s how I think all restaurants should be. If the customer brings you their food and are unsatisfied, a refund should be standard decency.
I love their drinks, but the service takes way too long, even if you're the only one in line and I'm not a fan of their food
Second time I've been here in 6 months. Second time I've watch countless cars drive off without even ordering. We sat in the drive in space for 20mins waiting for someone to take our order. Looking down the row no one was ordering. Jumped in the drive through line with 3 cars ahead of us and we'll another 15 mins to order P.s. your speaker is seriously messed up. Had to guess what was being said while ordering.
Ordered a cran limeade. It didnt taste like cranberry or lime. Just sugar water. First time here. Not going back if they cant get a drink right.
Let me just start by saying .. the drive through lady Nikki on 8-17-2025 1pm you should get a diffrent job… your attitude is terrible the way you speak to people sucks … the only thing good about this place is the cooks …. First of all the cashier at drive thru window was very rude to us. Second, I ordered a number 1 meal. When we parked in a spot, I opened my sandwich. There was the 2 meat patties, cheese , 3 pickles and a small amount of onion. No lettuce, ketchup, mustard or tomato. It was a horrible dinner. Won’t go back because back in May I pulled in a hop spot with grandson, we sat there for 15 minutes after pushing the button. We left for Arby’s.
We haven't been to Sonic in a long time, so my husband and I decided to go again on a Monday afternoon. The main thing that drew us in was the major advertisement of the Big Dill Smash burger, fries, and tots. Well, the first problem was the speaker system - it was SO loud and there was so much static that I could hardly understand the guy. The next problem was my husband ordered the coney combo, only to find out they were out of yellow cheese and only had white cheese. Finally, I wanted the Big Dill special, but they were completely out of the dill seasoning, so no tots or fries. He said I could still get the burger, which I did, but there was no dill flavor whatsoever (I should have questioned how they make a dill burger without dill seasoning)! So I basically got a regular burger, but paid for the special. Needless to say, it was NOT a good experience and we will NOT be back!
i know lots of places are short staffed, but quick service was not our problem. we got served immediately and got our food soon after however, we ordered one double bacon cheeseburger ketchup ONLY, and another one with no tomato or onion. (which was said on the screen so it’s not like they didn’t hear us). we received 2 bacon burgers with everything on both. one burger only had 1 piece of bacon on it. (picture is after picking off the tomato and onion). we also ordered a 3 piece chicken strip dinner and the onion ring was very chewy and not cooked, plus the bread was burnt. i recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Let me start off with saying the spaces to park in are small, we had to wait a whole 15 minutes after it said our food was on its way. We finally get what we ordered which was a large tatertot and two chili cheese choney dogs and they were warm almost on the cold said the bun was super sticky and stuck to our teeth and the roof of our mouths. The tatertots didn't have any salt on them and we didn't get ketchup sadly but that was our bad not yours! And all for almost 12 dollars. I'm sorry but I won't be wanting to come back
It took 30 minutes just to get told they were out of the seasoning for the pickle fry’s then we wanted to cancel our order because it was 30 minutes old and they told us they could not give us our money back so no do not go there
I had such high hopes and the food was terrible. Our server was incredibly nice and timely. The chicken sandwich came out looking and tasting like a frozen Tyson chicken patty, the burger was about the same quality, the fries were plain (didn't request that) and just so soggy. The birds at the parking lot did not help - we felt as of we lowered the windows they'd come in (I know this is not the business's fault but want to warn others who sit there to eat). I hope if I go to another Sonic, or even this one again, that the food is better next time.
Went here on a Saturday night after an event at the speedway. Town was busy, Sonic was busy. Not horrible when we pulled in. We got there about 11:30pm. Pulled into the LIT UP digital order kiosk. Press the order button. 10 minutes go by and nothing. Start asking people around us if their orders had been taken. They all started saying no. So myself and at least 2 others left those spots and go into the drive thru long. BEFORE 12am when they close. We wait 10-15 minutes in the drive thru to have an employee come out and yell from the door that they close at 12 and we probably wouldn't be severed. I asked why being we were in line PRIOR to closing and that had we not sat in the other option for 10 minutes without being waited we'd have been thru. She shrugged her shoulders and didn't care. Simply said she was short staffed. While that sucks and makes for a long shift that's not on me. Brianna was her name and she claimed to be a manager. She handled things horrible. We left and went down to Rallys in Clio who was also supposed to close at 12 but because there were people in the drive thru they finished it out until everyone was served. The way it should be.
I’m very disappointed with this restaurant now all on tv that Smashburger looked good and it had lettuce and tomato on it so I decided to go get one I got it went home and I was very disappointed it didn’t look nothing like the advertisement no where is a tomato one small pickle I started to take back but I stayed in Mt Morris and didn’t fill like driving back there I went to store and brought pickles lettuce and tomato and put it on there myself.
Waited 40 minutes after ordering only to receive the wrong order. Luckily, they refunded the order, but we left without food and 40 minutes out of day wasted.
Disrespectful, didn’t give much information on what to do, had nasty attitudes from THE START. Just very unprofessional, I work in fast food, and would ABSOLUTELY NEVER treat customers this was, even if it’s busy
Spent a little over 40 dollars and didnt get any syrup for my french toast or any mustard or ketchup for my corn dogs which I specifically asked for. The service wasn't super great either. Most of my food was somewhat burnt.
Ordered through the app. Took 20 minutes to get my food. They were out of strawberries for the shakes. I get my plain cheesecake shake since no strawberries. And it's over an inch from the top warm and melted! My coney dogs were like warm! I love sonics but we will not be back to this one!
Service is always absolutely terrible and the food is even worse. Yesterday my daughter and I stopped there to eat. The food arrived literally within a minute,I was shocked. Well, it's because we were served hours old food. The food was cold, hard and very old tasting. I couldn't believe they would be so rude as to serve us that. I had them remake it and the manager on duty was very sarcastic about it and about giving a refund.
We were in the drive through line for 29 mins. We watched multiple cars pull out of the drive thru line due to such a long wait. Would have left as well if we would not have had a disappointed kid with us. Staff did not seem concerned with our long wait as well no apologies for our wait just not concerned by the slow speed of their performance. Quiet dad will not be back to this particular sonic
My mom and I went there for lunch today. Not impressed! The burger didn’t taste good at all the meat look like it was old and it just didn’t smell right. The bottom of my bun was half soggy because of the grease the last time I was here was five years ago, and it was good back that I don’t know what happened between then and now. We won’t be coming back.
Ordered on line and came when it said it would be ready. Waited 10 minutes to talk to someone when I got there, and another 25 minutes and my order still never came out. I went up and asked and they said they hadn’t even started it yet, so I got a refund. When I called to tell about my visit I was told I could get a coupon for a free drink with purchase, but only if I set up an account. What a joke, this is not fast food,

Well just left birch run sonic. It took 10 minutes to go through the drive through. They were out of signature sauce. We ordered two drinks pulled away and they didn’t put any flavor in it. Terrible service not going back. I hope the workers are ok. Definitely needs a manger to pay attention.
The food made me wanna give up on everything I love. Think school food but if they hated you enough to also smash the bun all to hell. I couldn’t stomach it. Seriously disgusting. Not only that but the speakers apparently don’t work well because my husband was SHOUTING and the person taking our order said he couldn’t really hear us and sounded like he hates his life and we were inconveniencing him. Please please PLEASE do better $24 for 2 meals to be THIS horrible should be a crime. McDonald’s is 1K times better and I hate the place.
Food was disappointing. They forgot our dipping sauce, so we hit the button to ask for some, she said okay with a tude but we never got our ranch. We tried to eat our onion rings and cheese sticks dry. We won't be back to that particular location.

Don't try to use the park and order spots, they never answer. The drive thru was slow. After waiting for 20 minutes with no response at the parking spot, we went to the drive thru and waited another 30 minutes in line to order. Once you order you are out in 5 minutes. Worst sonic experience at any location I've ever had.
Ordered online just before arriving... Hit the button to communicate with the carhop - after 7 minutes with no contact, they turned it off. Hit the call button again - 25 minutes later went into the restaurant (no they are not open for you to do that) to talk to them instead. Asked them if the call buttons worked, was told yes, but we are only answering them if we think we can because we don't have enough staff. Went back to my car and went through the driver thru to tell them I had ordered ahead (40 min ago). By the time I got up to the front the food they handed me had gone almost entirely cold - if they had answered their buttons, I could have had hot food. Waste of $85!! If you don't have enough people to run, don't open up... Or do better in letting people know there are issues.
Waited at stall #8 for nearly 30 minutes, with no answer so decided to go through the drive through. Another 10 minutes pass before we receive our food, the double smash burger had no pickles or sauce and the chicken sandwich was so burnt that it was inedible. Waited 10 minutes for the replacement chicken sandwich for the cashier to say he forgot to have the cook drop it so we just got the chicken sandwich refunded and left. Never returning to this Sonic again!
Called 5 times across 20 minutes to ask about the potential content of pork in an item for a religious friend — No Answer. Was NOT posted on the site. Completely unacceptable, ended up eating elsewhere with our party. Must be able to accommodate allergies and religious beliefs or you shouldn’t be operating.
This is the worst sonic ever. At least the last 10 times ive been here they have screwed up my order shorted me food then there rude about it. Staff is rude as hell this place needs closed down we have had it with this place and wont be coming back again
We talked to someone on the speaker and placed our order but the lady didn’t even put it in, as we weren’t prompted to pay or anything. We pressed the button again to ask, and waited around 15 minutes for our food but no one ever answered and we never got our food. Very very frustrating and disappointing.

Its like - Really?? This place continues to be open. I dont know how and if you go visit this Sonic in birch run, you will be asking the same thing. How does this place even pay its bills? The drive in part looks like it was attacked by godzilla. Service is so slow its in reverse. Drive thru is more like Drive and sit. Staff not trained but only to quote prices and take money. This is a serious down grade from any other Sonic i ever visted. Disappointing at very best.
Picking up a doordash. Pick up time was 3:23 8 arrived at 3:15 pressed button. At 3:28 I called the store still no answer. 3:30 finally got an answer and was told the order had not been started yet. I then proceeded to wait for the order and it was not given to me until 3:38. When it was given I explained to the person that ran it out to me that that will affect my ratings and such and she said oh well. Very rude employees very uncomfortable place to pick up an order
Waiting over an hour in line just to order only to get up to the register to find out they only take cash or card and not Apple Pay. The staff was rude and most of them were on their phones behind the counter visible from the drive-through line service is absolute garbage. Do not recommend
Very disappointed!! I have a dairy allergy and I have studied their menu to figure out what was safe to eat. I ordered the food and waited 15 min n line..when the man handed me my food, he gave me a DAIRY dessert and my food!! He realized I wasn't supposed to have the dairy. I asked for a burger with mustard only!! It had Everything, including cheese and mayo!!!
Worst service. ONLY go here if you want to pay the price of two sandwiches, but only receive ONE. Waste of money and time. Food was cold, tasted rushed, and again….only getting one sandwich but pay for two? They accept ANYONE to work here evidently. No job interview needed I’m assuming. 0/10.

I guess I’m just not supposed to be a Sonic customer anymore. This is the 2nd Sonic that has just gone off the deep end. After a 10 minute wait to try and order we left. Went to the Dairy Queen next door. I even got the attention of the carhop and still didn’t get anyone to take our order.
Worst food experience I’ve had in awhile. Made a mobile order and no one answered, phone, stall, or app order had to go to through the drive thru to be taken care of. Where their speakers were not understandable and rude. Would not recommend going, and will not return.
Writing this while still waiting for somebody to take our order. It’s already been over an hour. My boyfriend walked up to the door to even let them know that we placed a mobile order after waiting 40 mins. One of the workers said she was the only one with a headset and the drive thru has been busy. Don’t know why they aren’t alternating between the stalls and drive thru or close down one. This is ridiculous. Have never had an issue with them until now.
I never complained about service but this one took the cake very incompetent management you are only as strong as your weakest link the boss is the one that needs to go period just like the manager of the mavericks gone we will see what happens
Don't come here! We sat in the drive thru line for 30 minutes and the care in front was not moving, drove to the window and the worker was extremely rude saying she was the only one taking orders for the whole place when in reality there was at least 10 workers in the building. Drive to a carport and pressed the button and have been waiting 15 more minutes and not a single person has answered the call. Will never return

Placed an order online on 8/30/25 waited over 50 minutes in the stall. They wouldn’t answer the red button on the menu board. Wouldn’t answer the phone. wouldn’t come to the drive-through window. Had to call corporate still nothing! was supposed to get a refund haven’t seen that yet! Heads need to roll!!! any manager and staff that we’re working at this time today need to be fired, period!
Bad service cold nasty food and the person in drive thru was rude handed me cups dripping with slush/ice cream !! Don't expect to order on the app and pull into a numbered spot and have food brought out to you. Nowhere does it state this location is drive thru only. Even watched many people drive up to the car hop ordering spaces and leave to get into the drive thru. Why have spots numbered or ordering boards on when you don't use them? Also food isn't bad just not great, ordered a pickle slush their featured menu item. Expected to get what it had like the pickle juice balls but unfortunately they either didnt care to add them or was out. Regardless was main reason I ordered from here was for the pickle items. Big waste of time, money and energy. Beware of this location. It has gone down hill and I won't be shocked if its closed down permanently soon.
Went to drive through today at 315pm and waited 15 min.. finally drove to window. A female staff was there. I told her I didn't think anyone was there. She explained there was only 2 staff and what she had to do. She then told me I would have to go back through the take out line. All I have to say is terrible management and staff training. This is a horrible place to eat!!!!They didn’t answer the call buttons had to go through the Drive-through. We waited in a hour between trying to order and getting food.The guy taking your order in the drive-through Had the volume up so loud you couldn’t understand him at all. One Burger King with cheese nothing else other one came with mustard, ketchup and two pickles. Ordered everything on it!!! I only went to eat here because my friend said they were so good in Texas. I don’t know what that hamburger is made out of but it ain’t beef. I would’ve gave a zero instead of one star. Called corporate after we left and they still haven’t gotten back to us. The place is a pigsty outside. I can only imagine what it is inside.
2nd update. It has been 2 months and I still have not received a call from the restaurant . Update: I talked to someone on the chat who wanted me to sign up for the app to have a free fry. I said no. They asked if I wanted the store to contact me. I said yes. I’ve yet to hear from the store. I know the phone didn’t work when I was there is it still broken? When will I hear from the store? Missing condiments. Very long wait. Slots for ordering do not work. Disappointing customer service. Shakes and food were good. Reported to DT cashier that there was an issue with slot 3 and them not answering their phone. They said thanks for letting them know. No resolution no apology . Will not be back to this location. This location seems to be poorly ran according to other reviews here including my own. I wouldn’t be surprised if this location gets closed.
Bad Customer service. Waited at the speaker for about 20 minutes, barely any cars, the car infront of me has waited 30 minutes. Very Unprofessional and the workers were rude. If you thinking about going to sonic just go to Culver’s down the street, Im telling you their customer service is 100x better.
Placed an online order, was supposed to pick up at 1:5. Ended up waiting 45 minutes for someone to finally take our name and confirmation number before we finally received cold food, horrible dry chicken tenders and a bad foot long, this is ridiculously nasty. Never had a worse experience at sonic. I want a refund, so I'll wait for sonic to reply and if they don't reply or offer a refund I'll file with my bank....and I'll leave negative reviews elsewhere i.e BBB, Facebook, Instagram, X etc... Ordered food through the app. App said to push the button to have our food brought out to us. We pushed the button and waited for 20 minutes for someone to come on the speaker and tell us the only way to order is through the drive through. Sat in the drive through for another 15 minutes. Food was barely warm. Serving sizes were small. Food lacked flavor. I was so excited to finally try Sonic because they don't have one where I live. I should have just went to Burger King. I was incredibly disappointed and will never eat at Sonics again.
I had three cars in front of me going through the drive thru. I waited 40 minutes and finally had to pull out of short lineup to get where I needed to go to be on time. This isn’t the only time this has happened at this location. I know as a franchisee myself, I would be pretty upset if my employees were moving that slowly. To many bad experiences at this location. I will gladly give McDonalds my business from now on when I past through birch run
I ordered take out an hour before close, 0 other customers in the drive thru. The double pretzel burger. It was extremely greasy, basically soaking in a puddle of grease. My fries were over half way dumped into the bag from their container, and on top of the greasy burger, 0 napkins. I’m not sure if it’s “normal” for it to be this greasy, but the least they could do is throw napkins in the bag!
It’s run down none of your headsets work right no one can hear or speak your business is incompetent and you need to fix this. Get it together EDIT: they double charged me as well, gave me the wrong order I was hoping to correct the difference when I handed my card back, but instead I got double charged. Disputing that with my credit card company, what a JOKE
Very poor service. Sat at the order screen for 20 minutes, nobody ever answered. Finally driven through the drive through an ordered $50 worth of food. All teen workers inside had earbuds in. They were out of napkins. Both shakes has no flavor other than whip cream. Chilly cheese dog was smashed, the bun was chewy and the dog was cold. All 3 burgers were burnt and the fries were cold. Will never go back there again
