Stopped in hoping to finally got a good drink and we got wayyyy more than that. We ordered the grouper tacos. Best taco I’ve ever had. Hot fresh perfect balance of everything. Side of pinto beans were giving gourmet refried beans. Delicious. Drinks… finally got a good one in st. Augustine! Regular margarita and a spicy one. Have to come here!
A wonderful restaurant! It was a beautiful night and we sat on the patio for a delicious meal. Maria, our server was excellent! My husband had a beef taco special and I had the chicken tomatillo fajita bowl. Great drink specials also. If you like Mexican food, definitely eat here when visiting St. Augustine! Stewy Recommended!
The music at this place was fantastic, creating a great atmosphere. The lighting was pleasantly dim, adding to the relaxed ambiance, which was perfect for a Sunday night. The food and cocktails were incredible and notably affordable compared to other restaurants in the area. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back again!
Celebrated our 10 year anniversary here. Went about 5:00pm on Friday afternoon and sat upstairs outside with no wait. Bartender Steven(?) was very spot on with his service and we were very appreciative of that. Ordered a house margarita, a paloma, and a regular mojito. All great tasting and very well made. Ordered the Jalapeño Rellenos as an appetizer, and the Tequila Lime Grouper (for me) and Carnitas Platter (wife) for our entrees. For dessert we ordered the Churros. Pretty good despite one still being a little cold in the middle but even that one was still good. Overall, the food portions were generous and speed it all came out was great. Not too bad in terms price either. Definitely would recommend visiting for a full dinner or even a quick bite while sitting outside and looking over the bayfront.
During our recent visit to St. Augustine, my wife and I chose this spot for dinner primarily to enjoy the picturesque harbor view. We were absolutely blown away by the entire dining experience! Our server, Rheana, greeted us with such warmth and enthusiasm that it set the perfect tone for the evening. But the true highlight was the food. I couldn't resist the Seafood Fiesta, and it was truly a feast. The generous portion could easily have served two, but I savored every last bite. From the perfectly cooked scallops to the succulent shrimp, each element was prepared with precision and just the right hint of spice. It was an unforgettable meal.
This is your sign to go. I dined here once in 2023 and the food, service, and ambiance was wonderful that when I return to St. Augustine for Nights of Lights I insisted to my party that we must go. The price is appropriate and the serving portions are good. Both times staff members were educated on the menu and very accommodating. Food Suggestions: Jalapenos appetizer - Delicious Ancient City - Bread pudding - different, but good. Mexican sushi - OK. Slightly underwhelming
What a great place! We went early to miss the big crowd at dinner. The service was fabulous, the food was excellent and you have a choice of inside or outside seating. The place is huge... Lots of tables. We tried the Crusted Grouper and the Pork Belly Tacos both were excellent! I'd like to go back and try more of the menu.
Came here yesterday, was very busy but honestly best Mexican food I’ve tried in Jax. We called ahead to put ourselves on the wait so when we got there it wasn’t that bad. We waited about 30 minutes after we checked in. We didn’t mind, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks which were very good and we were texted that are table was ready. Food was amazing, everything I tried was really good. Pricing not bad at all, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 cocktails. The bill was about 105, honestly not bad. I would say for everyone else, they don’t take reservations so you can’t exactly guarantee a table when you get there, I would recommend calling ahead because they are very busy, that does not mean you will be sat right away. It means you’re on the list and it would’ve been longer if you just walked in and didn’t call ahead. Just wanted to put that out there because a lot of people seemed not to understand that part when I was there. Overall great experience.
My husband and I came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Although very busy for a weekend during the nights of lights season- our wait wasn’t even as long as they told us (which was great!), and they were very accommodating with our stroller for our baby boy. The food was good, hot and fresh. Came out fairly quickly for it being so busy. The drinks were delicious and not overly sweet- so, shout out to the bartender! The atmosphere was perfect, not too loud and gorgeous on the inside. Our waiter, Bryan, was the best! He was genuinely kind, informative, and personable. He made us feel very welcome. He made us feel comfortable with having our son, and related with us since he is a father. We had great conversation and we love that! Although the restaurant had run out of a few items on the menu- he was apologetic, and made great recommendations on the menu. We are also very understanding people- it is a busy season. We will definitely be coming back to see Bryan!
The food was really good, I was pleasantly surprised as usually if a place is in a tourist destination with water views the food is sub par but that was not the case. We ordered from the specials menu, the appetizer was a salmon ahi stack that was excellent. I had a short rib taco with cheese from the specials menu that was wonderful. Even the rice and beans were terrific. The chips were great. The decor was on point with a Spanish coastal vibe that was very stylish. I was impressed. Grace our server, was delightful and helpful. I noticed when staff was idle they actually were not idle they were dusting, wiping, cleaning… that was impressed as well. Great experience, thank you!
One of our favorite spots in downtown St. Augustine! Steps to Flagler College. Multiple floors of dining. Bar and outdoor rooftop patio on the 2nd floor are excellent. A trifecta of flavor with salsa, queso and guacamole with chips is a terrific start. Tacos, quesadilla, enchaladas and salads are all very good options. Atmosphere is upbeat and fun. Restaurant is very clean and comfortable, as is the bar and outdoor patio. Service is always good, as are the drinks...
Server was very knowledgeable with the menu items! This is always a plus!! Being able to sit out on a 2nd story patio above the hustle and bustle but still able to enjoy the breeze and scenery was the best part for me. Our food was delicious and my cocktail was as well. Will definitely be going back again!
My wife and I had dinner here on a Monday evening during the Night of Lights celebration. This was our first visit to the restaurant. Despite the crowds in town, we didn’t have to wait for a table. We didn’t love the first inside table location they offered but they quickly provided a table outside fronting the main street with a great view of the harbor and Bridge of Lions and the many lights in downtown St. Augustine. Our server, Jeremy, arrived within a minute or two and took our drink and appetizer orders. We had a draft Modelo, a tequila old fashioned, excellent chips and salsa, and shared a bowl of black bean soup. Everything was great. But the best was yet to come: the shrimp fajita bowl for my wife and the grouper entree for me. I can’t overstate how good the grouper was! It was the best piece of fish I’ve had in a long time – large, thick, crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside… delicious! It was covered by a light, creamy lime sauce. Fantastic is all I can say! We will be back, for sure.
We recently visited Casa Reina Taqueria & Tequila in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida, and it was honestly one of the absolute highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles and genuine hospitality — it truly felt like a special experience. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the vibrant flavors that showed real care and quality in every bite. The drinks were refreshing and well-crafted, and the atmosphere was lively yet comfortable. What really stood out was the exceptional service. Our servers were absolutely amazing — polite, attentive, and genuinely eager to make sure we had a wonderful meal. We asked to be seated where we preferred, and they happily accommodated every request with smiles and professionalism. Honestly, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This place is superb — outstanding in every way. If we ever return to St. Augustine, Casa Reina Taqueria & Tequila will be at the top of our list to dine again! Highly, highly recommended — a true gem! 🌟
Loveeeed casa reina, I visited twice- the drinks were delicious the food as well. The shrimp tacos were incredible and also loved the portion of the nachos, quesadillas. Margaritas were also very tasty and not too light. Our server was friendly and attentive. I can’t remember his name. While there was a little wait, we didn’t mind. The wait is worth it. Prices are also reasonable and good portioned. We will return to casa Reina.
Divine. Across the board. Excellent service! Best Paloma ever. The patron margarita is worth it, far better than the house margarita. And, the desserts are exquisite! We had the flan and the churros! Definitely worth 5 stars or more!
We got the best table with an amazing view. Dana was fantastic, and the food was delicious. Friendly staff, great food, and a beautiful setting. Highly recommend! The menu has several vegetarian and pescatarian options. They also offer many non-alcoholic choices and delicious mocktails. We ordered seltzers with lime served in a “vaso escarchado”—the straightedge one ✈️Ask Dana for one next time ! 👌 Friendly staff, great food, and a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!
Casa Reina is pure magic on the bay. The moment you walk in, the energy shifts—warm staff, glowing lights, and that waterfront breeze that makes everything taste even better. The food is exceptional. The short rib enchiladas are unforgettable, and every plate arrives looking like it belongs in a magazine. The team here is genuinely happy, and it shows. Service is smooth, welcoming, and never rushed. Whether you’re on the rooftop or tucked inside with the windows open to the water, the atmosphere is unbeatable. If you want a place that feels like St. Augustine at its best—beautiful, flavorful, and full of heart—Casa Reina delivers every time.
Absolutely loved this Mexican restaurant! The food was delicious and full of authentic flavor, but the ambiance truly made the experience even better — vibrant, warm, and inviting. The servers were incredibly accommodating and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!
Casa Reina Mexican Food in St Augustine is a great place to enjoy a very good meal. The food is excellent and full of flavor, with a solid menu and well prepared dishes. The service was excellent, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. Dining with a view of the river makes the experience even better and adds a very nice atmosphere to the meal. A place worth visiting while in St Augustine.
Highly recommend this place, loved the outdoor seating and everything we ordered was delicious. Really big portions for the price. For dinner we got the following items: hibiscus margarita, jalapeño rellenos for an appetizer was great for the whole table and had such a great flavor. For the main meal the seafood combo enchiladas were delicious and the house made hot sauce with the blue crab cream sauce made it. Our waiter recommended the yellow rice with the pinto beans which I thought paired great with the enchiladas. Plenty of food, we even had leftovers. Will be back!
We spent the morning at the fort and walked over for an early afternoon lunch. We didn’t have any wait on a Saturday, but it was before noon! We sat outside with a beautiful view of the water, fort, and lighthouse. We split the salsa, queso, and steak tacos. All of which were delectable! The queso and salsa were particularly enjoyable! Our waitress, Savannah, was so sweet and helpful in recommending the steak tacos! I also ordered the Casa Reina Margarita which was perfect for an afternoon patio drink. We would definitely come back to enjoy both the view, and the food, next time we’re in St. Augustine!
First time here, we were a large group. The staff was able to handle it. The food was very good. I tried several appetizers and sampled other dishes. Right on the corner of the main plaza, right across from the Lions Bridge. Upstairs dining, with an outdoor patio if you prefer. They even have an elevator if you can’t manage the stairs.
Sat outside up top where we can see the bridge of lions. It was a perfect time to come because the nights of lights is over and the wait wasn't bad. The drinks were great. The food was delicious and the service was on point.
I recently visited Casa Reina Taqueria & Tequila and had an incredible experience. I ordered the Steak Chimichurri Fajita Bowl, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The Food: The steak was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the chimichurri sauce. The bowl is loaded with flavor—between the caramelized onions, poblano, and red bell peppers, every bite had a nice kick. It comes served with a generous portion of rice, beans, fresh pico de gallo, and creamy guacamole. The presentation on the colorful Talavera-style plates really added to the vibe. The Vibe: The atmosphere is vibrant and authentic. They even serve fresh tortillas on the side, which were warm and perfect for scooping up the extra steak and peppers. If you’re looking for high-quality Mexican food with fresh ingredients and great portions, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the Tequila selection next time! I was worried because some of the reviews said not worth the wait. We were all very happy with our food. My husband & son had chimichangas,I had grouper my littles had quesidilla. We had queso with chorizo & cocktails to start. It was all delicious & our waitress was very attentive. The hostesses were a bit snide but we called a half hour before. Got our names on list then checked in & waited 20 mins. It was very busy evwrywhere with nights of lights. so I suggest doing it that way. It was chilly so we chose to eat inside but it has a beautiful view of ocean if its a nice day
This is a great restaurant. We sat in the rooftop and had views of town. The chips and salsa were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The steak salad and shrimp tacos were delicious.
The restaurant was the best - food was incredible, and the views are amazing. Our server, Dana really brought together a perfect time with her energy, enthusiasm, and great suggestions. Pictures are from our seats on second floor balcony!
Kaylie was wonderful, she's so sunny, unique, and so kind. She really lifted my husband and I's spirits! You're so lucky to have her working for you, please appreciate her❤️
We had a party of 4. We had short rib enchiladas, grouper tacos and the tequila lime grouper. The food was delicious, and portions were generous. The atmosphere is festive and our server, Tyler, was excellent.
Absolutely amazing experience. The hostess was so helpful in call ahead 30 min advance reservations. We only waited 5 min after we arrived to be seated on the top balcony. Our server was very patient amd attentive. The food was delicious. Would 100% recommend.
Great experience! Margarita was strong and tasty, staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I had the glazed salmon which was incredible. Others in my party had a chimichanga, shrimp fajita bowl, and a tuna bowl and they all said their meals were great. The restaurant was very clean with good views of the water on the second floor. Will definitely come back soon!
Came by to celebrate my wife’s birthday with my daughter. We sat on the patio by the water and boats. Adrain was our server and he was knowledge and helpful. I’m big on reviews and customer service. Adrain gave a lot of background on food and drinks and was 10/10. Would come back any day

Took a day trip to st augustine yesterday and had the best dinner ever. We asked to sit outside, expecting to be seated near the street, but then we were taken upstairs to a seat with such a nice view as the sun was going down. It was not super crowded or busy which was really nice, but probably because it was a monday night. The drinks and food were so good, the passionfruit mezcal cocktail I had was really good, perfect if you like mezcal. Our server Grace was really helpful with everything and super friendly, and knew a lot about the menu. Really it was a perfect dinner!
We celebrated our daughter’s 16th birthday with her friends, and the experience was absolutely perfect. We sat on the rooftop, which made the night feel extra special, and the food was amazing from start to finish. The service was incredible. Adam, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and our server did a phenomenal job. Their attention, kindness, and care truly stood out and made our daughter feel so special. We highly recommend this restaurant for both the food and the outstanding hospitality. Thank you for helping make such an important milestone unforgettable.

We had a great meal at Casa Reina. We went for a late lunch and were seated at a prime outdoor table overlooking the Bridge of Lions. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated especially the bar on the 2nd floor. We started with cocktails which were delicious. Our waitress was fantastic. We sampled 3 types of tacos. All were excellent. A nice dining experience.
The service was excellent. The food is some of the best Mexican cuisine ever. The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly and plated with just the right amount of sauce. The tacos super fresh. The steak cooked just right with an amazing hot truffle sauce on the side. Megan, our server did a fantastic job. The only concerns I have with this restaurant is the furniture and the music. The chairs are super tight in the hip, uncomfortable, and don’t even have cushions. It almost makes the guest want to spend a little less time there, although the food was so good. The chairs absolutely gotta go. Replace with something comfortable that fits into your decor. We didn’t understand the music in the restaurant. The Music played in the background doesn’t really identify with anything Mexican. The food superior, even the decor of the restaurant like the tiles and walls made you feel perfectly in a Mexican setting. But the music in the background doesn’t fit at all into this scene. Overall, this place is excellent.
The restaurant is gorgeous, and dining on the patio was enjoyable. I had a mezcal drink, that was quite tasty and fit the vibe. Our food was normal Mexican food but nothing outstanding. I got nachos and did like that they put the toppings on the bottom of the dish and chips on top so they stayed crispy. My husband got a fajita bowl. None of it was bad, but it was pretty in line with what you would get at most Mexican restaurants. No dogs allows on the patio, even on slow days :(
We had multiple dishes which were delicious and the service was great, the flan with a touch of cheesecake and orange I think was pretty, pretty, pretty good. It's worth the wait

Okay... we wanted to love this place. What's good? The views are great, the location is great, our server Amber was great but the food... not so much. The french fries we're cold. The white rice and black beans were cold. The chips were greasy and stuck together. The hot sauce they had wasn't hot and tasted like ketchup. The tacos were mediocre and the grouper had a lot of breading on it and very little fish. Was it terrible? No. It's a three-star place that can be great if they worked on it and I hope they do because I would give it another chance.
The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. However we didn’t receive the best service which is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5. I went most of my meal without a drink and when I got my bill I was surprised to see several up charges that I was not informed of when I was ordering.
My overall experience of this restaurant was one of a great location and decor but that was pretty much it. The waiting staff at this restaurant was mediocre at best. To start, a family member ordered a lemonade that had that strong aftertaste out of a plastic hose, which I understand its bound to happen after a period of time the fountain drinks just spew it out. We just asked for a different drink and didnt even mind paying for it (its not that Im a millionaire but money isnt the issue, especially over a drink), the server loudly stated "what do you expect from fountain Minute Maid", very condescending and loud. I could really care less if its Minute Maid, Crystal Light or whichever brand all I need is a solution to the problem, not an excuse. She then stated in a very condescending manner if we had decided on what to eat as "the longer we waited the longer it would take due to a packed house", again it hadnt been 15 min from sitting down and I could care less about a "packed house" worst thing is being rushed when you've just sat down, its not like Im at a drive thru. The same server then brought an appetizer dish seeing were a party of 3 no small dishes for us to grab portions from main plates, the same server never once offered to refill our drinks, yes, we were tgere to consume way more drinks, so we literally ate our meals rationing every sip as she never showed up or cared enough to ask and at that point we didnt expect her to. As a previous server, I always look to tip the highest amount possible when I dine out especially with family, I even tip 100 percent when I feel the service was above and beyond because I empathize with those in the industry. However, as a previous server I also understand that a tip should be earned, and reflect my best efforts, treatment by meeting the needs of each guest. I also understand that many of the servers looked like college kids, possibly from the Universities close by, and at many times its due to lack of training and proper supervision that these things happen, hence why High schoolers at a Chick Fil A can knock customer service out of the ball park and restaurants like these with so much potential fail and fall flat. The food quality was good, not great or amazing but good. The upper deck balcony has great views but thats about the most I feel I got from place overall.

I understand that it is practically impossible to find authentic Mexican cuisine, however, I expected more from this restaurant. For starters, there are no people at the entrance who speak Spanish, even though I greeted them in the restaurant's native language. The hostess responded in English. Afterwards, I waited around 40 minutes, which is not a waste of time when the food is so good, and it's not that bad at all. The restaurant is very nice, its menu is promising, I really liked the service (even though no one served me in Spanish). Finally, the dessert is extremely delicious, perhaps the best I've had since I arrived in the United States. However, I prefer to hold back on my desire for this dessert until they tell me they have coat racks or at least lend me a chair to put my wife's backpack on so I don't have to carry it throughout dinner.

I really expected more. This was really not a great experience at all. Typical Mexican food. Ordered chips and salsa. Chips not cooked and the waitress said at least you know they are made to order. Very unedible. Bad comment. The enchiladas were ok. Asked for the yellow rice, got white. Waitress did bring me yellow as I was almost done. Had to ask for water. Lauren was not a friendly waitress and had no personality. Meal for 2 $55 bucks. Not on my list to return. There are much better Mexican food out there. I also mentioned to the front the bathroom needed some cleaning.
