I always visit here whenever I come to this area. The food and service are amazing. It's a must-visit place for anyone who likes Korean food and Japanese food. I introduced it to my Korean friends around me and everyone was very satisfied. My kids' favorite is 'awesome roll' and it's literally AWESOME! I love this fresh&clean restaurant !

Recently found this gem when our go to spot was to bust one evening. Absolutely loved the food and the team is wonderful.

The food and service at Carmel Sushi were both excellent. The owner came to our table and introduced herself and was very attentive to make sure we were properly taken care of. Definitely would come back another time!

Extremely clean, classy and affordable restaurant! The hostesses and chefs are all so warm and welcoming. Most importantly, the food will not disappoint you- anything you order will be fabulous, fresh and flavorful. Definitely going to be a new family favorite!

Great experience! Sushi rolls were delicious. Came with a large group and the restaurant was very accommodating. The owner was very sweet and welcoming. Planning to come back soon!

The food here is very delicious and atmosphere is very welcoming. I started coming here because My child goes to the dance school next door, I love coming to eat some sushi while I wait. But my son also likes to come after class 😅 I have yet to come during ur lunch specials and I’m looking forward to that:)

I had a really great experience here and highly recommend. I went for lunch and got the lunch combo A: 5 pc Nigiri & 8 piece spicy tuna roll with a salad and miso soup. Each item had generous portions, especially the 5 different Nigiri pieces. The entire staff (waiters and itamae) greeted each customer when they came and went from the restaurant.

They were able to accommodate our large family of 12 - including 4 kids. Everyone ordered something different & every single person loved what they got. It was truly the best sushi I have had in a long time. On top of that, the service was wonderful. Highly recommend!!

I've been going to this place ever since I can remember and I've loved it all my life. It's my go-to restaurant and the establishment really means a lot to me. I came here after I got into college. The food is the most consistently great sushi/poke at a reasonable price point I've ever seen. I honestly can't believe I hadn't already left a review. Seconds later, the wait staff guided us to a table. Water arrived lickity split, and our waitress patiently checked on us a couple of times until we were ready to order. Miso soup and a side salad came with our entrees; they came out quickly and were delicious. The sushi didn’t take long, either. Before we knew it, our plates were empty and the owner herself came by to see how we enjoyed our meal. And we weren’t big spenders like the table next to us, but we were treated as if we were. This is how you run a restaurant. It’s really not a high bar, but it’s astonishing how so few restaurants “get it.”

The food was delicious. My favorite is Wango Mango. It was fresh and had perfect mix of sweet and savory flavors. Our food came out quickly and staff were very friendly and attentive.

The staff is prompt and charming. The chefs are passionate and care about the quality of food. The prices are extremely reasonable.

My colleagues and I came to Carmel after a training event from the Hilton at Torrey Pines. The restaurant was not far away and they were able to seat all 11 of us without having a reservation before. The owner was super kind, and even came over to talk to us. The atmosphere is super peaceful and everyone is friendly. She even offered us a tempura ice cream. Super delicious!

Carmel sushi is my favorite spot, I really like their chirashi. The sashimi was equally impressive, clean, perfectly cut and soo fresh.

We arrived at 11:45 AM on a Friday. Plenty of parking at this plaza. The restaurant was still not so busy so we were greeted and sat down at a table promptly. They got busy as the lunch crowd came in. I ordered a Chirashi bowl but requested salad instead of rice. It was very nice them to accommodate my request. The fish was fresh and good portion! We will be back again because the menu has many items that we want to try.

I don’t usually write a review anywhere, but this place brought me here writing a review. I knew the new owners added wonderful touch on all the foods they serve especially the sashimi and sushi rolls, but today I discovered that they also have good Korean dish! My favorite is the Dolsot bibimbap and Sundubu jjigae. So happy I don’t need to drive all the way down to Convoy anymore!

This is the best restaurant! A large menu with plenty of options, both Japanese and Korean classics. Service is quick and attentive. Causal atmosphere. Generous portions of food. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent fresh sushi served by attentive staff in a casual, pleasant environment. Highly recommend the Chirashi Sushi which was an outstanding value and delicious. We are from out of town, but we'd be regulars if we lived here.

Wish to see more Korean food options. Since the restaurant take over, the menu. Owner did say she was going to upgrade! Food is bit salty for us. Foot staff was very rude when I stopped by to pickup. He thought I was a doordash driver and was talking down and mocking accents, when he found out I was the customer, he lost his face but didn't apologize. Never seen him again. Good riddance!

Cute restaurant with friendly staff. I went there for lunch on a Sunday. Got seated pretty fast but then the lunch crowd showed up at around 1230. There was only one server trying to take care of the whole restaurant. He was very friendly and apologetic to everyone for running behind. The restaurant is great but they need better staffing.

Pot and they never were preemptive on anything! She never even added one of my nigiri’s? Seriously ? The place was 35% full ! No excuse The food was good and if you buy with the discount ITS A HELLUVA deal- unless it’s an “exception”

My little glass of water was empty most of the time. The food was OK though the Ponzu sauce was missing on one of my items. If you are under staffed, just tell people you are only doing to-go orders and don't seat them. This was an incredibly negative experience. I would have rather gone basically anywhere else. We order from you regularly and overall we’re very happy. We usually get the Lemon Roll and the poke bowl with salmon the food is always tasty and fresh One thing we’ve noticed is that the portion size of the poke bowl is not always consistent. Sometimes it’s bigger, sometimes noticeably smaller. it would be great to have more consistency in portion size. Another BIG issue is with the miso soup service. A few times we noticed that when the soup is brought out, the server’s fingers — and sometimes long nails — touch the soup itself. Personally, this makes me uncomfortable and not eager to eat it. I would really appreciate it if you could consider: • using different bowls, or • serving the soup with gloves. These are small details, but they do affect the overall experience. Once these issues are addressed, I’ll be happy to update my review to 5 stars, because otherwise you’re doing a great job

After looking at the high google review score, I visited and tried 6 kinds (Sashimi, Sushi, Roll) of their menu with my friends. It was hard to agree with the score and all dishes were just normal taste and some sashimi were not fresh, a bit dried, In addition, they never refill my water cup and I felt their menu is slighly overpriced.

I stopped here to grab a bite to eat, but when I asked if I could use the restroom first they turned me down and said it was for customers only. I thought about telling them that I was planning on buying a meal and some beer, but the idea of bartering for permission felt kind of gross. The place was completely empty too, so maybe they were doing me a favor? I went just up across the street to the Vons instead, where I got a pretty substantial plate of food for just 10 bucks. (And where nobody hassled me for wanting to use a restroom before ordering)

Not great, because my sushi came 20 minutes after my entree and I had to remind them and when it got there it was cold and stale. Their food is really bad too…. No good eats here in La Jolla for Asian and Mexican.
