We have been going to Elsa's for the past 10 years - plus! Exceptional service and delicious food! Highly recommended! Can't pick a favorite on the menu, although - they have been so wonderful to us that we have created our own burger - The Chauncey Burger. Thanks for being there for our lunches and dinners. Waving a hand to Martin and Gaby - Will continue to recommend you to ALL!!!

Great Gyros!! It was packed with meat. I ordered a side of O-rings too. Good portion. My wife had the Chicken pita sandwich. Meat just fell out of it, it was so packed with chicken. Fried zucchini was good. The only disappointment was the rice pilaf. Not really "pilaf" but it was good. More like white rice with chicken stock. Overall A++ GREAT FOOD

One of the best (and few) Greek restaurants I enjoy coming to. It's been many, many years since my last visit, and it did not disappoint! The gyros are my favorite here, and they're made to perfection! 😋

So I went back 2 weeks later the next time I was in town, and believe me, it was not a fluke. It will now be a regularly spot on my visits.

Dunno what it is about this place, but certain dishes just hit. Beef/chicken kabob combo for one. Gyro dinner. Good for quick quality takeout. Very hole in the wall.

Elsas kitchen, As a first responder to the world trade center attacks bacj on 911/2001, being from new york and raised with italians for a portion of my up bringing, ive had the luxury of eating at some of the really good restuarants in my time, ive discovered Elsas kitchen some time ago about 7 to 10 years ago martine and his lovely daughter gabby have been very good to over the years, so going to eat there is as close as someone can get with fast and friendly service, the food is always great . You never have to worry about wrong orders or the food is not what it was since the last time you visted, its always consistantly what you expect hot tasty. My favorite is the half chicken dinner, its lemon chicken with rice pillaff with pita bread and a bomb greek salad. Everything fresh, the place is kept very clean, its not some fancy place where its $17.00 or so a meal. For what they are offering for i think its like $11.00 for the half chicken meal not including a drink.. for the quality of food they serve? I think everybody will agree that $11.00 is cheap. To me every meal from.them is like unwrapping a christmas present. Check it out for yourself be sure and tell the johnny mustang sent you, and you will agree the martine and gabby are very hard workers,and always fast friendly service with a smile. I feel like im giving away some privelidge information here. Make it your buisness to get over that way and youll see have them on.your mind for next time, you might even meet me thete and dont forget to tell them johnny mustang: sent you, and let your friends and:family know how good it was.its a blessing thats all.i can say about tell.martine and gabby i say hello.

Food still great! Bunch of specials. Food is like home made! Restroom has been out of service for years , just a heads up! Update: 6/8/22 Still amazing food. My favorite is just the traditional cheeseburger meal! Anything you get from this place is a new unfamiliar taste in your watery mouth. I love this place. I moved to north county. When I'm down in San Diego La Mesa. I have to stop by and support the little family kitchen! Thank you Elsa's Kitchen for always making me fresh food! Oh and the chicken sandwhich is a classic! If you are a la mesa native. This is a must spot. The food is extremely fresh , from scratch. It's not like other food places , that make you feel crazy full or bloated. The price and specials they have make it worth every penny. There main is "greek" but honestly everything on the menu is great! Especially the burgers and crispy chicken sandwich! Nice little hidden spot. Very homey feeling. If you are hungry at got the time definitively a cool little joint!

The 1/2 chicken dinner or kabob dinner are my favorite.

Alright so I've only had the grilled chicken salad and the gyro salads from this place so far and they were both delicious! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven had the opportunity to eat inside yet (due to covid restrictions) and experience their customer service fully ...I will return and will update if necessary.

Had the Greek salad…tomatoes, white onion and cucumbers looked slightly older than I’d like. I don’t waste food, but I left those aside… and the OLIVES, not a fan of these olives. I’d return to try a burger or something else.

Food is ok. Nothing spectacular and they charge for any sauce 50 cents for tzatziki. Service was not friendly. Girl working seemed really unhappy and robotic. And kept taking phone orders while I was standing in front of her trying to place an order. $5 for a side of fries is also ridiculous.

This young lady at this place can easily win the world championship in rudeness and worst customer service. Shame on such an attitude. I won't even go there for free. You don't deserve to be in our neighborhood. I wish I can give this place zero star. It's not only about the food . Respect people before you feed them. Shame on you.
