Opinions de Fresheria San Diego
Since hearing about this place I've gone 3 times in the last week. I love their acai bowls and the fresh juices. As far as food I've tried the chicken wrap and the chicken tinga sandwich, which were both great. I am also impressed by the size of their menu. I will definitely come back to try something new.
Good place to eat healthy, good options and variety. Good for smoothies or fresh juices, nice spot.
Molson Coors suppliers always bring this in whenever they have meeting at my work. It’s always taste fresh so bomb everytime! The Cheesesteak torta is sooo good!
Great meal combinations. Love the flavors and hours. I easily order ahead on Google and pick up on my way to work. Whoever made my ham torta today made it different. Way less inside than usual. I'm gonna be irritated if it's a habit.
Favorite place during lunch. 😋 The food is fresh and healthy, and portions are awesome for the value Everyone is friendly and helpful. The area is clean and nice to sit outside with wonderful plants 🪴 💚 10/10 My favorite meal so far is any of the spinach wraps and The King Smoothie.
Honestly this place is pretty solid, the food isn’t meant to be fatty or to increase your cholesterol. This place has good and fresh options to be healthy. I’ll be back for sure!
Service was excellent, food is great. The young lady in front name Janet is polite very attentive great attitude. One of my favorite places for healthy food. Highly recommended for all.
I loooooove their FRESH soy vegan burrito. It's not greasy, super fresh ingredients. Perfect size. And tastes good and seems healthier than other breakfast burritos. Sometimes, they don't answer their phone or answer and hang up, but they are always friendly in person. 😉 They have tons of other fresh options as well!
I'm glad I discovered this hidden gem! I was looking for a healthy lunch, glad I ran into this place! I had a kale omelette and it was delicious, my boyfriend had the salmon sandwich and half salad plate, both plates were tasty with healthy ingredients. I also had the kale and berry smoothie, very yummy! Prices are reasonable and there was penty of parking. I gave it a 4 star only because it took a little long to get my order. Maybe because I went around lunch time. Overall, I do recommend!
Wow - I slept on Fresheria. I've lived 3min down the road for months and didn't try until yesterday. Absolutely incredible food. Healthy, fresh, protein-packed, and filling. I got a chicken wrap for $7 packed full of healthy stuff and an acai "power-up" smoothie for $4. The shaded seating outside is comprised of leafy vines which adds to the organic feel of the place. Hearing the wind rustle the leaves while enjoying my lunch was very relaxing. In the words of Ahhnold, I'll be back.
Wow! I as so impressed by this place! They've taken the traditional Mexican Frutería flaired it up a touch, mixed it with a bit of an American health/vegetarian food, and stuck that in a fat Jamba juice bar blender, and came up with the magic served up at Fresheria: a true diamond in the rough. The most impressive part is the all important flavor. This was my first time eating here and I wasn't sure what to expect. A foodie friend of mine said it was amazing, so I was looking forward to it The menu spans a wide selection and I hate not knowing what I want at the register, so without really going over the menu much, I quickly picked a Sincronizada de pollo (a chicken quesadilla) with a smoothie that mixed their Peanut Butter & Banana with their Papaya. Again, I was so impressed with both these items I KNOW I will be back again. The skinless chicken breast was grilled perfectly tender and still moist, seasoned lightly but tastefully. It sat atop the melted cheese, fresh green-leaf lettuce, a couple of round slices of tomato, some pickled jalapeños, and the most delicious lime pickled red onion slices I've had since the last time I was at my mom's house. it was made perfectly, all the ingredients sang together in perfect harmony! The smoothie was cold, creamy, fruity, deliciousness. The peanut butter immediately made my brain jump to candybars, then in the next sip the fruit brings in it's fresh-sweetness, and the coldness, oddly sends me to my childhoid chasing ice cream trucks in the summer for a fresh-cool paleta. I can't say enough good things about this place. A carnicería translates to the place where one sells meat, a Frutería where one sells fruit. Well Fresheria was aptly named, cause they're selling freshness wholesomeness and deliciousness in a simple yet elegant way. I'm coming back for breakfast. That looked like a part of the menu I really want to explore.
Had a late flight in and wanted something fresh and this was perfect! Food was fresh, hot, and well composed. The torta was made with great bread perfectly toasted with tons of flavor. Mitch's wrap was creamy and spicy. The salad was full of color, variety, and texture. My picture doesn't do it justice.
I love this place the food is great , fresh and healthy. the customer service specially the cashier in the morning is super nice and prompt to give the best customer care ✨ the place is always clean 👍🦋☕️
I've been searching for a spot that makes a good grilled cheese for a while now, I've been to half a dozen spots, Fresheria is number one. If your looking for a classic grilled cheese, just bread, butter and lots of cheese, look no further. I will definitely be going here again.
This place is a local sleeper. It’s been our family’s go to spot for over 6 years as we live near by. Quality all the way around for what I consider to be fair prices in SD. Highly recommend the chicken torta and the ceviche. The watermelon aqua Fresca (sin hielo) is the drink you didn’t know you needed.
Above all their consistent food quality solid, always presented fresh. It's been nice to visit seleveral years now. Always open early and late for any comfort food, fresh, home cooked options. Be patient with staff theu mean well but image their hours? I appreciate their large selection of seating to enjoy your delicious freshly made treats.
I love their Veggie Torta and my kids love their smoothies. I haven’t tried much but so far the things I have tried were all delicious, healthy and in my opinion reasonably priced!
A wonderful fresh eatery in San Diego! Want something fresh? This is your spot. Hot ot cold, items are delicious and freshly prepared. My party enjoyed a Torta de lomo, and Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowls. We had agua de limón 🍋 , sandia 🍉 , y mango. The aguas frescas don't seem to have added sugar, which I actually prefer and enjoued. I live in Noth County, but added this place to my places worth driving to. The staff were kind and provided great service. I am looking forward to my next meal here!
This place is bomb! If you’re tired of the usual fast food and Mexican food around here and want something to make you feel better…this is the spot! lol everything is pretty much 5/5 I wish the Caesar salad wrap came with a side or dressing for dipping
Good experience. I liked basically everything I ordered, whether it was the acai or the smoothie. My only issue was that the guy who served me did not treat me warmly, and I felt it throughout the stay. I'm not saying I expected a brilliant conversation and interest, but he just seemed unwelcoming.
I have been driving by this place for the past year and today was the day I stopped for an açai bowl. Maybe my brain wasn’t registering a health food place in this part of town. 🤷🏽♂️ Who knew. Back to the review… The peanut butter cost extra and they did not want to add more granola in place of the strawberries that I did not want. That’s ok… just as long as the açai bowl was tasty. And wow… it was on point. It had plenty of granola, bananas, coconut chips and a good amount of the extra peanut butter that I asked for. Oh, there was a nice drizzle of honey on top. The portion was massive. I just came back from my workout so it was perfect 🤩 I’ve read some of the other reviews on the açai bowl, but if they are consistent from what I ordered today, I’ll be coming back pretty often. 5 stars on the açai bowl.
Fresheria – Be Fresh San Diego is such a refreshing spot! The smoothies and acai bowls are delicious and made with super fresh ingredients. I tried the turkey avocado panini and it was amazing — light, healthy, and full of flavor. The place has a clean, modern vibe and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Perfect for a quick healthy meal or post-workout snack!
How can something as simple as fruit salad be so satisfying? How can a bunch of haphazardly chopped up fruits bring so much joy? How can a squeeze of lime and a dash of chili powder awaken your senses? After a competition weekend, all I wanted was something fresh and cooling, and this plate was just that. Complete with a squirt of chamoy, a handful of peanuts, and some spicy tamarind candy, this was the salad of my dreams. Also shoutout to the lady behind the counter who heard me coughing uncontrollably and brought me a cup of water with lime. Good people can be hard to find, but they make it easy to smile.
Very welcoming staff- friendly service-brilliant menu items - so many healthy breakfast options and smoothies- great tasting coffee too!! Delicious omelets!! Really cute place- very pretty decor and clean. Highly recommend. Cute little neighborhood bakery/coffee house.
Nice little healthy shop with inside and outdoor seating. They offer a multitude of sandwiches, wraps, tortas, smoothies, and drinks (coffee included). Their outdoor seating is surrounded by plants and a shaded canopy. The service has always been friendly every time I go and their fresas con crema is amazing! I love their savory tinga sandwich with their yummy mixed green side salad which has a strawberry glaze, fresh strawberries, mango, and feta cheese. This place has a massive parking lot so parking has never been an issue. This place tends to get pretty busy so you might have to wait a couple extra mins for your food/drink, but everything is so delicious.
This place was so good !! I got the açaí bowl and added peanut butter and chia seeds & it was so yummy. My fiancé got a breakfast sandwich and he said it was really good even though it was a tad soggy, but that’s what happens when you order Togo so I understand that. And finally our coffees! They were so good. We will be back !!
My fiancee and I found this place just outside of Barrio Logan when we found out our previous breakfast place closed, and let me tell you, this was such a great find! The food here is amazing, and our server, Frida, is super friendly and a very hard worker. She made great suggestions on the menu, and we're glad we followed her advice. I'm in love with their salsa, some of the best Salsa Verde I've ever had. It's made fresh in house, and their chipotle is also quite good. Honestly, though, their food hardly needs sauce. And if you're looking for a sweet start to your day that's still healthy, I recommend the oatmeal pancakes with a bit of honey. They're my fiancee's fave. 😋 Our new favorite breakfast spot!!!!
We stopped in for lunch and had the "Fresh Wrap" with chicken, mango, pineapple, strawberry, cranberry, spring mix, goat cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. Wow, it was one of the best wraps we've ever tasted. The ingredients were definitely fresh, just as the name says. The flavor combo of this one is absolutely delicious. The staff was nice but didn't notice that most of the tables were dirty. No napkins to wipe down a table and when I asked for some, the staff came out and cleaned a table for us. I would definitely visit again and try more of the menu.
First time here, we got a cheesesteak torta, a ham and cheese torta and a grilled chicken torta. They were all good but definitely did not have a traditional Mexican taste. They tasted fresh and healthy which is good. I would come back for a good sandwich but if you want authentic Mexican I would definitely go somewhere else.
I came to try Fresheria for the first time on a Wednesday about 6pm. The restaurant has a nice decor, is very clean, and the service person taking my order at the counter was very friendly. The Special Torta (ham, pork, guac) and an Apple Salad were large, very fresh and tasty. The total cost with tax and $2 tip was $28.98. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to offer some spicy flavorings (e.g., a spicy mayo), as to my palate the two items seemed a bit bland. However, I was very happy with the visit, and would return to try other items on the menu. Recommended! And thanks to the owners for providing this nice restuarant.
Fresheria has consistently been one of my preferred spots, and I order from here often. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. However, I’ve recently noticed a decline in portion sizes. Paying $11+ for a Greek bowl and receiving only three small pieces of mango in the serving of yogurt is disappointing. For the price point, the portion of fruit and yogurt should feel more substantial and reflective of the value customers expect. One of the reasons I’ve continued to support Fresheria is the generous, well-balanced portions. Lately, it seems the ingredient quantities have been reduced while prices have remained the same. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I would love to continue supporting a place I’ve genuinely enjoyed.
I love eating here, today Tuesday 8/13/24 not so good, cashier acts like she wasn’t happy being there no hello, no thank you. She was just cold she should have called in sick. The breakfast sandwich I order is usually great, not today, maybe it was a different cook today.
I ordered the salmon bowl hoping it would be similar to the one from Urban Cafe and sadly it was deeply disappointing. Everything had a chard flavor to it, and the salmon was very dry. I did enjoy the juice, but the salmon bowl had to go into the trash :(
He came here around 9 PM, there was a lady sweeping while we were eating.. The bread they use for the sandwiches is really chewy so order a different bread. The cheese is not sliced it’s block cut into strips and it’s a hassle when biting into the sandwich. The Hawaiian torta was very good, if you like pineapple on food like I do. The lady there had an attitude, was not accommodating at all but it all worked out in the end.
I ordered on door dash and tejuino was super bad, very salty and sour; it didn't taste like tejuino at all. The Lomo Sandwich and Tuna Sandwich were decent, but the lentil soups they came with were super salty. I've ordered soup here before and never experienced this. I'm pregnant and really wanted the tejuino, but it's seriously not drinkable. Honestly, I'm super disappointed.
Place could be so much better but the people working here are pretty horrible. I live nearby and visited on multiple occasions prior to the remodel and after. It's been numerous times when I arrive that staff ignores me before taking my order. They may be doing something random like counting money, chatting, on the phone, etc and ignore the fact that I'm standing in front of the registers waiting for someone to take my order. The food is not bad and prices are competitive. I'm not a huge fan of their acai bowls as they slap a bunch of slices of bananas and strawberries very very sloppy. Beware if you order a smoothie and ask for yogurt or anything else as indicated in their menu there is an extra charge that is not posted on the menu.
I get acai bowls here from time to time. Usually they are not packed/filled up to the top like they should be, but they taste good at least. The times I've been here in person there's a girl who is rude to me. I once asked if she could substitute strawberries for blueberries, and she looked at me as if I just insulted her? I asked her again because I assumed that maybe she didn't hear me and she said in Spanish that "they only have strawberries" 🙄 I replied back in Spanish saying that's okay. Another time, I was grabbing an extra spoon from the counter and the lady that was there almost put her hand out to cover the utensils from my hand and said, "I already put spoons in the bag!" It was not that serious... Anyway, I order through the app now and I always get blueberries instead of strawberries. The food is good, but their attitude is not it.
The food is good, I’ve tried a lot of options from the menu and it’s the main and only reason why I continue to come here. The service is not well, the ladies tend to have attitude or just not a pleasant atmosphere, they don’t make it welcoming. But again the food is great for a quick healthy bite. Don’t get the aguachile! It’s not good.
I always order the Acai Bowl. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 10mins. They rushed and made it once I got there. I don't feel like I received the same service as others that were there. I was told the bowl only came with two strawberries. Used to be my go too but feeling like race made a difference once in person.
The Choco banana smoothie I ordered was pretty good and the atmosphere here is very pretty but for whatever reason the lady was so rude and didn’t care about any concerns I had. Every other fresheria I’ve been to has the bowl for strawberries and cream and I was confused to receive a cup that’s tasted like nothing the other ones. I explained this to her and she didn’t care or had any ounce of empathy for my issue I probably won’t come back.
Service was terrible was standing at the cashier and they were having a conversation in front of me for 3 minutes before even acknowledging that I was there. There was no other customers in the restaurant other than me. Smoothie was decent but a little pricey.
Came here excited to eat a healthy and delicious breakfast with my wife. Although the wait was 24 minutes long we were happy with our oatmeal and pancakes. The Açaí bowls however were basically bowls of açaí soup. This is the first açaí soup I’ve ever had. Still yummy and the fruit was fresh, so I can’t be horribly upset. But I hope they can work on the consistency of their bowls. I will say it definitely seemed like there was a language barrier. I asked for no granola on our bowls. And they still brought out our bowls with granola on it. After showing them the receipt that said “no granola” they took the bowls back and gave us the soups in return.
This place gave me bad feelings from the moment I came in first off the customer service is ok not amazing they were slow and don’t get me started on the bathroom if you go in for yourself so much noise bad quality smelled horrible light turns off almost every minute you have to move to keep it on and the door had no lock I was busy and someone walked in omg I was embarrassed and I left immediately horrible place food is nasty the place looks ok but I do not recommend coming here horrible 🤮
I’ve been coming to this place for over a year. The food is amazing, however the service is a 1/10. Today, my friend got a kombucha that had no flavor/carbonation and when trying to talk to the manager about it they were not responsive nor caring at all. Him and I had THE SAME flavor of kombucha and mine was fine. When he shared that with the service, they asked him if he had had kombucha before and that “is how kombucha tastes” to finish saying they could not do anything about it. To be honest, the girls at the counter are usually flirting with men or too busy on their phones. The menu is amazing and the food is unique but doubting whether we’ll come back here or not, never got service that was so poor. Didn’t cost much for them to give us another kombucha. Especially because we come here every week, at least once.
The 3 Soy Chorizo vegan burritos were not fully cooked the potatoes had a odd taste and the soy - chorizo was watery not cooked! I waited 12 minutes for my order I gave a $4.50 tip and I paid in total around $32 my daughter in law too her to work and my 28 year son lifted his on the counter since 9:40 am I was starving and pressured for time or I would have went back. Plus the tortilla was green this time around. The last time I went to this place the soy- chorizo burrito was fantastic! They must have gotten a new cook I’m still grossing out!
they don't even know what a chicken salad is and they messed up my food and now I'm mad and sad because I got no food cause that was not no salad because who put fruit on salad with cottage cheese and and put hot chicken on top of a salad, who does that that's not even the chicken salad like if I ask for chicken salad I'm asking for a chicken salad you better already have that chicken already was cooked and it was refrigerated so it's nice and cold to go on the salad and I didn't even get no ranch. They gave me some strawberry jam like what that is. No chicken salad. Do not eat at this place. If you eat there you're gonna have fruit on your salad with a hot chicken on some warm lettuce.
Didn’t ask for it but I got a dead fly in my sand-which. I ask to speak with the manager and instead I get Brittany who doesn’t understand the meaning of customer service. Bring the sandwich back she says, when I’m 20 minutes away at work and took the short window of time to try out this place on my lunch break. Disgusting, go somewhere else this place has a health hazard.
Order an Acai Bowl. Saw the person preparing waring NO gloves. Was dicing the fruit with her bear hands and a knife.. How Unsanitary. I Refused it and ask for my money back. She said they don't use gloves. I kindly left and went to another place where they use gloves to touch your fruit to go into your mouth.
Placed a To-go order and my order was coming out in an item at a time and taking forever coming out. 15 minutes for my drinks, another 15 for 1 food item, then another 20 minutes or the last food item. Just to give context both food items don't need to be cooked( a sandwich and tostilocos) I was waiting almost an hour. In that time people had placed there orders after me and were getting there food before me. Who wants there food in bits and pieces for a to-go order, they should of waited for all of it to be ready before giving it to the customer.
Cashier very poor customer service. I ordered a soup and after 20 minutes of waiting was told he’s cooking it with no urgency. 10 minutes later handed a cool cup of soup and advised if it was warmer would melt container. Urtrrrgggggg.
I love to support small businesses, especially in SE SD. It's great that this place is trying to fuse health options for Hispanic cuisine BUT unfortunately they're heavy on oils and the food isn't fresh. The service is also terrible, ladies at front should learn a thing or two about customer service. Only come here if it's your last option.
This is what they call a pitaya bowl. So disappointed. Their prices are way too high for this. This looked like a 7/11 slurpy. Costco’s açaí bowls are definitely better than this, and half the price. Save your money, and go to a different place for a good bowl of pitaya. I’ve had many and this is by far the worst.
Stopped in for a coffee, in the middle of my order cashier interrupts me to take a phone in order. Pretty rude given I was already there and in front of her. She then proceeds to ask me for my order again after she completes phone order, I repeat the order and once again specify I'd like a HOT coffee. Eventually she hands me my drink, an iced coffee which I tell her I don't have time for her to remake after waiting for this one .... if she had been focused on the customer in front of her and not taking a phone order she might have paid better attention. Not happy to spend $8 to get the incorrect drink. Maybe you need to staff someone for only phone in orders, really poor service to ignore in person client and take a phone call while they stand there.
Found a 🪰 on my soup place is dirty the cashier dont wipe the tables down i ask for a wet rag to wipe my table myself the cashier gave me attitude the place wasn't even pack at the time and the green juice is not natural its powder. 100% not worth it in my opinion.
All of their cashiers need intensive customer service training. We’ve been there at least 4 times, all different women, and they are ALL lacking customer service and attentiveness skills. Also ridiculously overpriced for the portions.I paid over $5 for avocado toast and got ONE piece of toast (mediocre bread) with 1/2 and avocado. We also ordered a large detox juice and açaí protein bowl. The large detox juice is $8 and they tried to give me the small size, which asked about and they corrected. The açaí protein bowl is actually more like a smoothie SO liquidy , it shouldn’t be in the bowls section. I called them about it and they said I could go back for regular açaí bowl when I went to pick it up, the woman HAD to tell me how I was wrong and how the protein one was supposed to be like that. Anyways, will not be coming back to this location or recommend to any of our friends.
I ordered the avocado wrap. Yet when it came it had HAM inside. When I said why doesn’t it say there is ham in there, the response was “well it’s on the paper menu” She then charged me to order another one with no meat. Scammer, and terrible customer service. With so many choices - stay away
overpriced and not that great you could find much better like citrina berry fresh on highland or frutas! i tried to return a drink and get a remake since it wasn’t what i expected and they told me no! even when i offered to pay the difference. overall just disappointed and left with a craving :( l
This was my first time here, and I'll give an honest review. It was a cafe-style place where you could get a light meal. I wanted something healthy, so I ordered an acai bowl, and while I'm sure it was healthy, the acai was melted into a sludgy consistency, and I would have preferred something a little firmer and colder. I also had a latte, but there was only a little ice, which melted quickly, so I couldn't enjoy it. The air conditioning inside the store wasn't working at all, so it was hot and I couldn't really enjoy the food. The outside of the cafe ( parking) hadn't been cleaned, and there were cups left behind by people who had eaten there, so I didn't have a very good impression. I won't be coming here again.
Absolutely disgusting! I ordered a veggie sandwich, and it was a complete letdown—soggy, bland, and clearly thrown together with no care or attention. Nothing about it tasted fresh. The pictures speak for themselves. On top of that, the people I spoke with at the restaurant were shockingly rude and unprofessional. Zero customer service, no willingness to help or even acknowledge the issue. It’s frustrating to spend money on something that feels like an afterthought. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Don't waste your money. This is what you get for the ham torta. Completely subpar and the cashier doesn't understand what you're telling them when ordering your food. I ask for a shrimp quinoa wrap and she gave me a quinoa wrap with ONLY quinoa. That's why I asked to be charged for extra quinoa in the quinoa shrimp wrap. Hella attitude from them too. Would NOT recommend 0/10.
My daughter brought me to this place for the first time to have salad for take out and i feel disgusted seeing rotten greens on my food. How could they say they are fresh when they are wilted and rotten and it means they are not checking the salad they are putting on the to go trays. Waste of money and disgusting. I will never buy their food again. Check your greens before you eat they are not fresh!
