Opinions de Pho Ban Mai San Diego
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time, and tonight is the night! I couldn't resist the aroma while doing food delivery so I ordered for myself. First bite of their curry pizza - Heaven in a pie! A must try! I could not wait to try other choices in their menu. Plus their staff is always super friendly no matter how crazy busy it gets!
Ordered delivery after having a craving and man this place is good! CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI was amazing! So much flavor in the biryani rice, and good amount of chicken too! Rice was perfectly cooked. Light and fluffy. Not too much of the masala curry which was a plus point. Big portion size too. Definitely value for money! Enough for 2 people (unless you're real hungry)
Loved the biryani!! We chose the chickendum biryani. Very tasty, chicken well cooked, the flavors top notch! The accompanying raita and Chutney lift up the taste significantly. It's a big portion also. Ended up taking a fourth of it home after the two of us devoured as much as we could. We also ordered the Gobi Manchurian, which was delicious! Had to push myself to finish it, but it was so tasty I couldn't stop. Pretty authentic indo-chinese. I've been to biryani factory/king also, but I liked Paradise more. It's a toned down version of the Paradise in Hyderabad, which I love and miss!
🍕✨ What an incredible food adventure at Curry Pizza Point and ST Paradise Biryani! SocalTasting indulged in the most amazing curry pizzas and wings that left our taste buds dancing with joy. We tried two types of paneer pizzas: the Paneer Curry Pizza with Chili Paneer and the Malai Chicken Pizza, as well as a Curry Chicken Pizza. Each bite was a flavor explosion, and you could truly taste the difference between traditional and curry pizzas. The mouth-watering flavors of the curry pizzas had us coming back for more, with the delicious sauces adding the perfect touch. Along with the pizzas, we savored the Curry Wings and Curry Chicken Wings. The aroma alone was irresistible, and the flavors were just phenomenal. The Curry Chicken Wings reminded us of Chicken 65 wings but stood out on their own with a unique, delicious twist. Amazing job, Curry Pizza Point! This is a must-try spot in San Diego. We’ll be back soon for more! 🍕🔥
Best Authentic Indian food I had in a long time in the US. We were a group of 8. Ordered most of the variety of biryani they had. Tastes amazing. Surprisingly they served the best deserts too. Veg, chicken biryani, Special goat liver biryani, rasmalai, mango lassi, etc etc Yummy!!! Worth every penny!!!
Pros: 1. The hotel is in a prime location - Mira mesa which is good . 2. They provide dining till 10 pm. 3. I tried paradise special boneless chicken dum biryani. The spice was a little bit more but you can customize that while ordering. But I really liked it. I ordered in the evening and the food was fresh. Cons: 1. Will update later in the future if there are any.
Place is good….. every item we ordered was so great…. Would definitely recommend it…… spices and flavours are top notch…..prices are very reasonable…… place with best food and price
I really love Paradise Biryani Pointe. This place is the reason I started loving biryani. Some of my favorites are the paneer tikka masala, naans, dum veggie biryani, gobhi Manchurian, chili garlic street noodles, and of course their raita. I’ve been ordering from them regularly for at least 5 years, and even after trying other restaurants, I always come back here. Their service is excellent, and they take customer feedback seriously. They truly value their long-time customers, which I really appreciate.
From the moment I walked into Paradise Biryani Pointe, I was greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and their passion for great food clearly shines through in every dish they serve. Now, let’s talk about the biryani—absolutely phenomenal! Each bite bursts with perfectly balanced spices, fragrant basmati rice, and tender, flavorful meat that falls apart in your mouth. Whether you choose chicken, lamb, or vegetarian, the quality and authenticity are unmatched. You can tell this is more than just a dish—it’s a tradition they’ve mastered. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently delicious food and exceptional service, but Paradise Biryani Pointe nails both. If you’re craving rich, aromatic, soul-satisfying biryani, this is the place to go.
If you're in or visiting San Diego, this place is a must-try for authentic Indian food. Their Gongura and Chettinad Chicken Curry, Murgh Tangdi, Shrimp Manchurian, and Paneer Butter Masala Pizza are absolutely phenomenal. Don't miss their Chicken Biryani either—it’s perfectly seasoned, aromatic, and packed with tender chicken. Each dish is expertly prepared, full of bold flavors, and showcases the true essence of Indian cuisine. Whether you're a fan of traditional curries or looking for something unique, this spot will not disappoint!
The best meals I have ever had. I can't recommend this place more. Absolutely amazing
I think Paradise is the best Indian restaurant on Mira Mesa street All prices are reasonable and they have some authentic Indian dishes. I will highly recommended things to try - boneless chicken biryani, goat suka with garlic naan, chicken lollypop(drumstick), Shahi Tukda on desert. Don’t forget to try their chai. On weekdays must try their lunch special. Great service by Sagar, Melroy and their entire staff Highly recommended :)
This place is AMAZING! The service, food, and atmosphere was incredible! This was the absolute BEST Indian food that I have ever had! Will definitely be returning!!
Finally checked out this spot with the homie and had a great time! We ordered the following: • Szechuan Paneer • Samosa Chaat • Butter Chicken Masala Pizza • Kadai Vegetable
We walked into Paradise Biryani in the San Diego location and noticed how clean the place was + the staff and our server Melroy was very nice and attentive! We ordered the Chicken Dum Biryani & the Hyderabad Goat Masala both of which were very Flavorful & Tasty! After our meal our server gave us a complimentary Double Ka Meta which was so Delic! We will definitely be back here again! Thank you :-)
My son brought me and my daughter here for lunch. I am a vegetarian and loved all of their lunch specials and meal choices. The food was delicious and flavorful! The server was very nice and attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
This is probably my favorite Indian food restaurant in all of the county! Their fusion foods like wings from heaven mix in a Chinese fusion vibe but they also have curry and street noodles that are well seasoned and spicy. I always ask for everything super hot. Their naan is fresh and delightfully chewy. Everything is made really well and fresh.
I love the boneless chicken dum biryani here. This is my ultimate go-to for biryani. The chicken is so tender and full of flavor! I always ask for extra spicy (basically extra masala) and I think that enhances the flavor even more. They have booth seating on one side of the restaurant and the rest of the space is filled with normal tables and chairs. It can accommodate big groups if necessary. I noticed that they have started selling Indian pizza now! I might have to give this a try at some point, when I don't fall prey to ordering my usual. lol.
This is the spot for indian food !! Probably one of the best Indians spots I’ve had. My favorite item was the butter chicken pizza so fire! We started things off with the paneer 65 and wings 65. Shared it. With mango lacis ! I got the chicken tikka masala and my buddy got the biryani dum with boneless chicken. So fire! I had some of his biryani and it so flavorful. Lots of space to sit, clean restaurant and our server was very helping us with menu !
Food was very delicious every time I come sandiego I come paradise biryani it’s was so yummy 😋 and delicious specially pizza
I don’t understand the low reviews. My coworkers from India recommended this place to me. The Chicken Tikka Masala has a lot of flavor, very balanced and not too spicy. It has a good amount of chicken and herbs. The butter chicken is also very delicious. Best dish is by far the Biryani, don’t be gentle with sauce and yogurt. Douse it. And make sure you mix it around. The naan was a good size, fluffy, well cooked. Very happy and will come again.
The food was amazing, the employees were kind and quick. Not a long wait at all. We had a great first time and will be back! Prices are also hard to beat.
This will be my favorite restaurant for getting biryani in San Diego. Ordered Boneless chicken dum biryani. The rice is soft and flavorful. Rice is on top and chicken at the bottom. It came with 2 sauces, yogurt and curry. The other dishes - butter chicken, garlic naan, Hyderabad goat with masala sauce were tasty and properly spiced. NOTE: entrees don’t come with rice or naan bread. One has to pay separately for these items. Garlic naan was $4 and one order of rice was $2. Marked this down for worthy re-visit restaurant.
Authentic South Indian biryani with exact combination of spices. Delicious food with reasonable price.

Amazing food, amazing prices. Samosa Chaat was incredible. Hidden gem with such kind service. I will DEFINITELY be back.
If you are looking for truly authentic Indian taste, this is the place to go! We decided to explore a wide variety of options from the menu, and I was thoroughly impressed. From the flavorful and perfectly spiced starters to the aromatic biryani, every dish hit the mark. The curries were rich and well-balanced, and the naan was fresh, soft, and exactly how it should be. It is rare to find a spot where absolutely nothing disappointed, but this restaurant managed to deliver on every single course. Whether you’re a fan of classic dishes or looking to try something new, the quality here is top-notch. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Typical Andhra style biriyani. We took a goat one and a chicken one. It was fresh and the taste was also good. Although I’m from Calcutta, so my biriyani taste is a little different, but I don’t expect that everywhere. This biriyani is pretty decent. The portion size is humongous, with Not only rice, they give enough meat with an egg too. They give raita and salan too if you are a fan. Overall, a true value for money.
Paradise Biriyani Point has the best flavored Biriyani in San Diego. The rice will be cooked to perfection. Saffron and Ghee flavor will be the highlight. But very very spicy. You have to repeat it again and again to make it mild spicy. Other than Biriyani, Apollo Fish is another dish that you could trust and order. Food will be delivered hot and fresh. The place has moderate ambience and mostly crowded.
Paradise Biryani Pointe is an Indian restaurant on Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego. It’s a halal Indian chain for biryani, kebabs, curries and more, including lots of veggie options. We visited this place on November 27, 2018, to eat dinner. It’s a nice and well-organized place. When we got there, the ambiance of the place was calm and quiet. We ordered Paradise Vegetable Dum Biryani, Kadai Chicken, Gobi Manchurian, and Triple Fried Rice. The food was good. The price was affordable. The staff of the restaurant was friendly, courteous and helpful.
We found out about this restaurant from DoorDash because there was a buy one get one free promotion on pizza on DoorDash. We ordered for pickup and the pizza was still being baked when we arrived, but didn’t take too long after the completion time on DoorDash. Although my order was a mistake because I didn’t realize there are 2 different businesses on Mira Mesa Blvd that are called “Curry Pizza”, this one turned out to be pretty good. The cheese pull was incredible. I’ve since recommended to a few others and they also enjoyed the pizza. Parking is free and easy in the lot. The restaurant is pretty large inside with plenty of seating and Indian family dining.
I came for lunch with my husband and a friend. Hubby and I shared a chicken curry pizza (yes! You read that right. Curry Pizza!) It was a big hit. Delicious. Our friend order the buyer chicken from the lunch special menu, and loved it. Service was speedy and very helpful for those of us without extensive experience with Indian food. Bear in mindthat Can't wait to return.
My Indian friend recommended this place for biryani and it didn’t disappoint. I tried Paradise Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani, not too spicy and lots of flavor. It’s refreshing with yogurt sauce. I also really liked their Szechuan paneer and chilly paneer. Chilly Paneer got a bit of sweet taste but I enjoyed both. My friends are vegetarian and they ordered malai kofta - fried potato and paneer balls. They were quite tasty as well. We also shared butter chicken, plain naan, cheese naan and bullet naan. We left with lots of leftovers and full bellies. The service was great. The waiter was friendly. Overall, i had a good experience during my first visit.

Biriyani seems to be the only dish that's good here. Chicken dum biriyani comes in a good portion size, tender meat, flavorful rice, good spicy gravy; overall a very good dish. Honestly, have only biriyani and nothing else. The kebab and chettinad chicken curry lacked flavor and was a big waste of money.
I appreciate the prompt service and short wait time for our orders. If you are in the area it’s worth it to stop by. They even modified the spice level of the meals to make them more kid friendly. Can’t go wrong with the Gobi Manchurian and Chicken Karahi curry with naan. We tried the Malai chicken curry pizza and it was unique would like to try another pie for next time!
We ordered Paneer Butter Masala Pizza, Chilli Toast, and vegetable street noodles. Paneer butter masala pizza was a nice fusion of Indian curry and pizza. It was little bit on a sweeter note but tasty nonetheless. I will give it 5/5. Vegetable street noodles was also perfectly cooked. The noodles were cooked to perfection and so were the vegetables. The only thing I didn’t like is lack of cleanliness. The booth wall where we were sitting had spatters of food which is quite disgusting. It does raise questions about they must be keeping their kitchen. The prices were affordable and there is plenty of parking in the center.

One of the Spiciest Indian food place and the quantities are huge. I believe one plate or biryani is for two. Less number of servers and it takes time to get the cheque. Everything is tolerable but the service. The waiters are rude; they never take your order even after noticing that you are waiting. Management has to learn from other restaurants about the service.
I love the food here, but i got my paneer biryani just 20 mins ago. I have to say today it is disgusting. Firstly, the rice grains were broken and wet. Rice was overcooked. Usually, i like biryani here and i prefer this among others that were around. Please try to maintain the food quality just like any other day. Will try again. I hope you will find this image helpful. I am absolutely disappointed.
Food was decent. Not bad. The triple fried rice is supposed to come with noodles, I don’t see any n my rice. It is very spicy (I wasn’t even asked for a spice level) and the menu doesn’t say spicy. The chicken 65 tastes good, however the quality of the meat is not that great. Here’s where we really get into it. The man at the register was one of the...not smartest ppl I’ve ever met. Doesn’t know how to take an order. And they didn’t even put napkins or disposable silverware in my bag, I had to ask for it and was rudely scoffed at for asking. And we are in a pandemic. That is all.
We waited close to 50 minutes to pick up an order after being told it would be ready in 20 minutes. After getting home, we started eating and found a hair in our food. Will probably not go back.
We first came to Paradise Biryani Pointe in November 2018 and surprisingly, we returned again in November 2025 on Thanksgiving Day. However, looks like this Indian Restaurant has lost its old charm. We came to this place to eat dinner during our last San Diego trip. The inside of this place was elegantly decorated and clearly represented traditional Indian culture. The air was filled with the bold aroma of Indian spices, which increased our appetite. At the same time, the place was super crowded and they were severely understaffed. After waiting for more than half an hour we were finally able to find seats. We then waited 15/20 minutes more for a waiter! We ordered Murgh Tangdi, Gobi Manchurian, Street Noodles, Triple Fried Rice, and Mango Lassi. And the wait for our food began again! They first served Murgh Tangdi and it was the best part of the meal. Then they literally took 25/30 minutes more to serve Mango Lassi, Gobi Manchurian and Triple Fried Rice. The Gobi Manchurian was tasty, the Mango Lassi was good as well, but the Triple Fried Rice barely had any rice in it and it was the worst fried Rice we’ve ever tried. The Street Noodles were bland and not tasty at all. The overall price was reasonable, but the extremely slow service and food quality really let them down. We were very disappointed and will not be coming back!

The situation is really bad not only is the food quality going really bad. I was told by their manager that they will take his pay if I don’t pay for the bad food I just got that goes to Sure how much the quality has gone down in the restaurant
Have ordered goat curry once, the goat was completely undercooked. Ordered goat dum biryani today and again the goat isn’t cooked and it feels completely raw.
We used to love Paradise, and it was our go-to for boneless chicken biryani last year. The quality and taste were consistently good back then, but our recent experiences have been disappointing. We had to wait a long time to be seated because the tables weren’t cleaned, even after we requested multiple times. That was very disappointing. Boneless chicken dum biryani now has more breading than meat, lacks flavor, and is excessively oily. Murgh Tangdi was slightly undercooked and also too oily. One major turn-off was the dirty and smelly cloth wrapped around the sizzler plate handle—it really affected the dining experience. Mango lassi was good and tasty.
The have reduced the quantity by at least 20%. Flavor is anyway hit and miss. The box is never full these days. Used to be a good place to get biryani
