Casual beach-themed restaurant with a great Happy Hour. The piña coladas were amazing! The burgers were also really good. We tried the Hawaiian and the Bluenami, and both were delicious. Service was good, and the atmosphere at the bar was fun.

Our recent visit to Islands was nothing short of extraordinary! 😍🍔🍟 After more than 15 years of indulging in their mouthwatering burgers and perfectly crispy fries, returning to this cherished destination felt like stepping back in time, especially after being away from the vibrant city of San Diego for over 6 long years. 🏙️⏳️ The moment my daughter suggested we dine there, a wave of nostalgia washed over me! 🥰 As we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere wrapped around us, enhanced by the cheerful decor and the enticing aroma of grilled perfection wafting through the air. 👃😋🔥 The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and exceptional warmth, going the extra mile to provide a baby carrier holder for our grandbaby, which made our dinner experience even more delightful. 👶💖😊 Sitting around the table, we savored each delectable bite, relishing the rich flavors while sharing laughter and stories with loved ones. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦😂💕 Thank you, Islands, for creating such a welcoming environment where not only does the food dazzle, but where we can also connect and make beautiful family memories together! Guys, Hawaiian burger was THE MOST DELICIOUS burger in my life!!!! Also Pina Colada is my favorite cocktail and here you can have the best one!!! Josh was our server and he did great. Very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very Hawaiian and cozy. Cocktail and beer flight is a nice feature. We were so full after burgers and fries, we didn’t get a dessert so came back the next day to get it lol. Highly recommend this place.

Fun spot. The portions are huge, prices are fair and we waited for our a bit food but our drinks came out right away. Everything was yummy. Highly reccomend the truffle fries. (I REALLY loved the sauce with them)

Good hamburger restaurant in Mission Valley with a beach theme. Lots of TVs where you can watch various surfing videos and they also show popular sports. We had the Wave and Maui hamburgers which were very good and our server Lauren was fantastic. She was quick, friendly, checked up enough to make sure we had everything we needed but not intrusive. Fun decorations and good looking restaurant.

They pour the perfect temp for their beer 🍺 using thick mugs out of the freezer! Beer stays so cold! Burgers are bomb! Staff is always cool 😎

After a horrific experience at another location, I said that I would never go back to Islands. I was contacted by one of Islands representatives and asked that we give them one more chance. I was reluctant to go back to the same location that I had the bad experience with so I visited the Island’s restaurant near my mother and sister’s neighborhood. Proved to be a wonderful decision. The food was hot and tasted delicious. The service was the best part of the experience. We had a waitstaff named Yasmeen. She had the best personality and knew to suggest different items on the menu. She was so down to earth and so attentive. So refreshing to see staff as genuine as she was. Based on this experience, I most definitely would come back to islands. Mahalo!

Pretty typical Islands Restaurant. Pleasant decor, lots of TVs to distract the customers, fast friendly service and reasonably good food. All the entrees including the burgers is priced around 12 to $15. The burgers, fries and tortilla soup were pretty good and the veggie tacos were better than expected. However, the coleslaw that came with the veggie tacos was near inedible.

Happy hour chicken tenders and fries were good, my 28 year old girl friend loved them. I've been going here since my early childhood, stop in the neighboring Costco for some bananas and avocados and the service was so quick they were still good when I finished my yummy meal.

I went there for the first time yesterday evening. The place was pretty empty. As I walked in an employee, which later I found out her name was CLARA, looked at me with an unfriendly look. Throughout the night, she was just walking around wiping down tables with a serious, upset look. I gave 3 stars because I was there when there were not very many people, and I didn't order food. Even though this particular employee wasn't friendly. I will go back and give it another try.

I ordered a turkey burger. Very disappointed in the service and the burger. The bread was not toasted and it only had condiments on one side of the bread and it was soggy on the bottom I could barely cut it. This is my 3rd to go order each time it was not right. I won’t be getting any to go orders again. I also waited extra time my order was sitting there for about five minutes if I had not asked for it I would have waited longer. First time here and the food was pretty subpar. The waitress was needing an eye check as well. Maybe train your staff to become a little more cultured or literally just use their eyes. I hope management takes this as a learning lesson. First, we ordered margaritas. She asked for ID, totally normal. My friend and I are both Chinese and look nothing alike. She then proceeded to say I can’t tell you two apart so she couldn’t give us our IDs back to the right person. My friend said hers was the Oregon one and I said mine was the California one. My friend was from out of town in Oregon, and so she said she wasn’t familiar with Oregon licenses and needed to double check. Fine. She comes back and continues to say I don’t know whose is whose. Really annoying. Just use your eyes. Our next issue was that my friend ordered a burger medium. Not medium rare, just medium. We got the burger and it was rare rare. We waited 15 mins before a waitress came to check on us. Meanwhile there was staff all around just chatting it up and on their phones texting not helping. The waitress finally comes by and literally gasps at how raw it is, and proceeds to tell us that it is indeed medium and that’s how the restaurant normally makes it and we ordered it wrong. I said no, that’s not medium. We want an actual medium and if that’s the normal medium you should disclose before ordering that the restaurant likes to cook things way under the standard. Burger was comped but the waitress was terrible. First and last time here. Fries were ordered were bottom of the basket too.
