Jewel in a gas station! Very understated taco shop. Everything I have ordered from them has been fresh and fantastic tasting. There isn't a place to sit and eat here, that I have seen, so you will need to take it to go. Parking is difficult but can be managed and is totally worth it. All the staff I have dealt with has been pleasant and friendly.

Really great food and their portion sizes are huge! I always order here for our company meetings and the entire staff loves it! 1/2 a burrito is enough to feed one person, so the pricing is fair!

Walk up Service good but they don't answer the phone in the morning like they used to? I think they don't have cashier to answer them? they should hire someone it is a very busy place. It's location is great for truckers and movers because it's right off the 805 north and south freeway. You can jump on or off grab a bite to eat,get gas, and continue on your journey. Along side of them is a car wash, mechanic shops, and tire shop. Nice!!

Took the wrong exit due to the fog I am so glad I did!!. Omg! This food was ridiculous!! I got the surf and turf with extra shrimp! Delicious and I am so excited they open at 5am!! How great is that. I work 10 minutes away and I was so impressed!. The food was fast and tasted great!!!. The shrimp was not overcooked and the meat was salted just right!!. They were very sweet and it looked like it's a popular little spot!. I feel like I found Gold lol.

Seriously amazing food, it's a gas station restaurant for loves sake, a gas station restaurant that outcooks every other Mexican place in the area. I'd call this place a hidden Gem! Their Bowls are amazing and so is their breakfast with fair prices for the quality food you get. Would definitely recommend to every Mexican food lover!

Gotten at least 1 recommendation to try this taco shop, and would definitely keep passing on the good word. It's a small location right outside of the gas station (don't walk into the gas station, its the window to the right of the building). I got the surf and turf burrito, which kept me full for 2 portions, and worth the $13.

Good quick Mexican fix :) thank you! Carne asada chips are delicious. Could use more meat. But still delicious. The pollo asada has great flavor. That red sauce tho! It's so spicy!! Good flavor, but too spicy for me🤣 I added a tiny drop to the green sauce, which was delicious.

This is my favorite taco/burrito shop in the area. It's hard to go wrong from rolled tacos to burrito's, but my favorite is the Cali Hash breakfast burrito. Staff is always very friendly and food is prepped quickly. Because the food is takeout, call your order in ahead of time to reduce your waiting time during the lunch rush!

Ive lived in San Diego for 30+ years, but I just tried this restaurant yesterday for the first time. WOW! Dare I say, possibly the best fast Mexican food in all of San Diego? I had the California Burrito: from first bite the cheese was melted, French fries were perfectly cooked, the guacamole was extremely fresh, and there was even so slightly hint of lime. Best burrito I've ever had. That they make all of this in a tiny restaurant attached to a gas station, is nothing short of pure magic. You can absolutely tell that the chef really cares about the food he makes. I will definitely be back again very soon!

This is my favorite taco/burrito shop in the area. It's hard to go wrong from rolled tacos to burrito's, but my favorite is the Cali Hash breakfast burrito. For the price, food and serving size is a great bargain. Occasionally, there's a wait, but overall, it's a great place if you're in a pinch or need a lot of good food for cheap.

Suggestions, change your flour tortilla. The tortilla you use for your burrito is stale and chewy. The rest of the food ingredients are fine. Can you add at least one table and two chairs to eat there quickly? I hate eating in my car.

Delicious adobada and Cali burrito. Seemed a little pricey for what you got, but it is San Diego. No place to sit.

This place has really good food. It's always the same girl working and she is completely thorough and helpful. Being So close to the freeway on/off ramp it makes it an easy stop. No drive thru but it's worth getting out of the car. Only complaint I have is the carnitas is mostly shredded fat. I understand pork has more fat then the other meats but taking a bite of fat just isn't tasty to me.. everything else is really good you won't be disappointed.

Good little taco joint in Miramar. Close to freeway and the base. Overall the food is good and they have tasty salsa. Price is a little above average but not bad. Parking is weird and sometimes really hard to find as it is in the gas station parking lot. Sometimes people park at the pump and just stay there which makes the whole area slow way down.

Great food that's well worth the price. Breakfast burritos are huge. If you're not in the mood for breakfast I recommend the Bunker Buster burrito. Located right by the I-805. Parking is a pain in front of the shop. There's one regular space and one handicap space with construction presently eliminating the two spaces on the other side of the gas station. It's easier to park in the spaces by the gas station's air pump. Restroom is large, spacious and wheelchair accessible. Open until 10pm. You can phone in orders ahead of time. Apparently listed on Postmates.

Good food but over priced. Especially that they like to filled up as much rice in your burrito as possible with very little of other ingredients (like meat) even when you ask for less rice. I don’t know why they would screw their menu or business like that. But please do check it out, they are underrated.

Update: 2025 - prices went up and they missed the shell lol I honestly can’t compare this carne asada burrito to anything I’ve ever tasted… it’s that phenomenal. Talk about a hidden gem, and of course it’s connected to a gas station. Pros: - phenomenal taste - affordable - convenient - next to a gas station Cons: - parking - wait time (short on staff) but it’s worth it - I didn’t find this place sooner

I called them up and was told by the guy who answered the phone that he needed to check with the cook and he'd call me back. I never heard back that night. The next day I did hear from the owner who worked it out with me. He wasn't working that night and acknowledged it was an employee issue, and seemed distraught over the customer service issue. Given the good track record here and the fact I do think their food is good, I am willing to move past that issue.

These guys have some of the best red salsa I’ve tried in my life, do not sleep on them! I like the tostadas, they have good fish burritos, and I’ve heard the tortas are good. Definitely a good spot

This is my break-up letter to S&STS: The Surf & Turf is the best burrito in San Diego but all things must come to an end. I need to let you go. Not only has the price gone up by $2 to $3 but now I’m only allowed 2 hot sauce per item and a basic B&C burrito is $9.64 after tax. I know you’ll find another guy who is more well off than I am but I can no longer afford this “side gig”. If and when I hear prices have come down I’ll return but I honestly don’t see that happening. It was fun while it lasted. All the best.

Dried out chicken breast for the pollo asado burrito. Every other taco shop uses thighs. Come on!

I bought carne asada chips several time here and they typically have almost no meat however the last time I came here there was maybe 5 little pieces. They over charge for chips and guacamole with sour cream calling them carne asada chips. For $15 bucks I’ll pass

INCORRECT ORDER AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed a large order that included a few vegetarian-described tortas and they came with two different types of meat. The vegetarians were devastated to not be able to have a meal while everyone else could. I know mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant to report the incorrect food and ask for a refund, and they started a back and forth war about how it’s “always” been a meat torta. No apology, no accountability. Evidently, I was annoying them and wrong for ordering a meal that says it contains no meat but I should know it’s always come with meat? Zero logic. The falsely advertised food was ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, on the menu. Clear as day “A.M. Torta: Eggs, tater tots, cheese, spinach, avocado and sour cream.” See for yourself. The manager/lead kept claiming that the tortas I ordered had “always” been meat tortas. My response: then update your website. It was the most pointless back and forth that made me feel brain dead by the end if it. It is a restaurants responsibility to have accurate information on their own website, as well as partner catering sites. This restaurant is in VIOLATION OF CA LAW- HEALTH AND SAFTEY CODE 11408. At the very least, be professional and apologize. Insisting I was wrong and being rude was out of line.

The food is not good enough to deal with their poor customer service. Asked for a refund and left didn't want my food to get spat on. I won't write the details of my experience here because it's not worth my time but I hope they take better care of the people that help keep their doors open.

Pricing has just about doubled as of this week. A bean and cheese burrito is literally $10. Most expensive Mexican food in probably the entire city at this point.

Don't bother going if you see people in line. I waited 30 minutes only to handed a cold taco and an apology. My taco was ready but sat on the counter while they serviced a Grubhub order. They dont care about the customers who come and wait in line. I don't care how good the food might be. I will never go there again.
