I've only been able to do take out but this place is SO CUTE! I hope to be able to dine in soon. This Peruvian spot is so meticulous with their food and presentation. Okay - yes, the lomo saltado is $$$ BUT they are really high-quality ingredients cooked perfectly. I usually can make it a 1.7 meal, almost 2. Liked the empanadas! The papas a la huacaina had great sauce, but the cook of the potatoes was not my fave. Overall, I hope this place stays around long 🙏 we needed this Peruvian spot. 🤗
It was amazing over here everyone should try it at least once probably much more than once lol Also Guillermo was awesome with his customer service and fun to talk to. The Chicharron sandwich is the best!!!
Right when I walked in here, I could smell the flavors of Peru. It was me and my buddies and my buddy recommended this spot to me. I got the lomo saltado. Stir fried steak with red onion, tomatoes, homemade fries and rice so bomb! My buddy got the Peruvian pesto with lomo saltado on top he loved it ! The stir fried steak here is so amazing! My other buddy got the inka asada fries which is like carne asada fries but with the stir fried steak and hot dog! My friend got double steak instead of hot dog. We shared the dessert the Peruvian donuts are a must! I wanted to order more! Also the alfajores were so amazing as well! Lots of seating inside the staff was super nice and the restaurant was clean which is always a plus !! I'll be back soon
First time trying this place and it was really good. My favorite dish was the Lomito bowl. Make sure you try their alfajores.
We drove an hour and a half just to experience **The Unique Peruvian Spot restaurant**, and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth every mile! The food was **mega delicious**, with every dish clearly reflecting Chef Silvana's love and pride for her Peruvian culture. You can truly taste the dedication in every bite. Her welcoming and warm restaurant ambiance adds to the experience, and the **chicharrón with pan is the most authentic Peruvian taste** we've had. We highly recommend it!
Had an Excellent meal here! Both of our meals were great, would absolutely come back!
Excellent peruvian food, spacious and relaxed environment to unwind and enjoy good peruvian food with family or friends. Friendly service and delicious dishes. Don't forget to get dessert, the owner is a pastry chef and it shows. I will definitely come back.
The Best sandwich de Lomito and chicharrón I ever tried since I move to San Diego and the Salchipapas so good!! Silvana and her team are really amazing. We will definitely come back soon!!
Wow! Amazing restaurant with delicious food, spacious layout, excellent customer service, and reasonable price! What more can you ask for? If you haven't tried this place yet, you are missing out on what a high rated restaurant truly is all about. Some favorites are: Inka Asada Fries, Lomo Saltado, Mil Hojas, Alfajor, perfectly balanced homemade chocolate cake, and various nicely flavored ice creams. Enjoy!👌🔥💣
We ordered Peruvian Food on Doordash from a place called The Peruvian Spot. We ordered the Tallarin a la Huancaina with Lomo Saltado which is Huancaina sauce with noodles and then with Lomo Saltado which is a beef dish. For the main entree we also ordered Aji de Gallina which is a shredded chicken with a creamy aji amarillo sauce served with rice and potatoes. For dessert we order 1 Alfajores. Overall really good Peruvian cuisine and I would recommend this restaurant!
10 out of 10!!! Dining at The Peruvian Spot was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish we ordered - tamal, ceviche a la carrilleta, lomito sandwich, ceviche a la limeña, causa, rice, and sweet plantains - was an explosion of vibrant, authentic flavors that transported us straight to Peru. The beverages, from the refreshing chicha morada to the perfectly balanced TPS juice, complemented the meal beautifully. Chef Silvana not only prepared each dish with impeccable skill but also provided service infused with genuine warmth and hospitality, making the entire experience feel personal and memorable. The atmosphere is both inviting and lively. Adding to the appeal is its convenient location and effortless parking, which makes visiting a pleasure from start to finish. This is, without question, the best Peruvian dining experience in town - a true culinary gem that I cannot recommend highly enough.
Their ceviche is the best ! Love both the carretillero and the limeño. The empanadas and chocolate cake are a must. The causa was delicious, it had a little more mayo than I'm used to though. Their lomo saltado is made with the highest quality beef and definitely their homemade ice cream is fire. Loved the lúcuma ice cream! Ask for a sample. the restaurant is very welcoming and great location and the ingredients all fresh. Thanks !

The perfect place to bring your family! The food quality 10/10. We ordered pan con chicharrón, tamal de pollo, salchipapas , picarones and my favorite alfajores ever! They have a kids area that my kids loved playing while I was able to enjoy the environment and food ❤️ I highly recommend it and will definitely will be back.
I had an amazing experience dining at the Peruvian Spot ! I ordered the Inka Asada and it was SUPER delicious! The meat was incredibly juicy, and their creams are top. (Love them). The Chaufa rice was flavorful, the Pan con Chicharrón was very tasty, and the service from the staff was super exceptional. The place was spotless, and the restroom was immaculate ( it even had mouthwash with one time use). They also have a play area for kids, which my daughters loved. The wait time was minimal, and everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!"
Guillermo was so kind. I ordered pick up and I got the key lime pie ice cream which they happened to be out of when I arrived so he gave me some of both of the other two flavors, which were delicious. His wife is a pastry chef and makes them from scratch. The ceviche limeño is literally perfection. I loved it so much! Definitely will be back to try other dishes here!
Best Peruvian food in San Diego. It’s fresh and authentic. I had the quinoa drink 💪🏽 pan con lomito and tallarines verdes with lomo saltado. The green sauce is amazing! Will definitely come back.
Amazing food in a fun, colorful restaurant with super friendly staff. Order anything with their Huancaina sauce. It is truly one of a kind and went well with every dish we tried. If you have room for dessert, I recommend the Lucuma Ice Cream with chocolate cake pieces.
We found this place entirely by accident, and I am SO glad we did! The Peruvian Spot has extremely friendly service, we were unsure what to order when we first went and the staff were knowledgeable and so clearly passionate about the food. I was also a fan of the decorations in the restaurant, it made the place feel lively and warm (especially with the colors and the llama statue!). We ordered the Ceviche Carretillero and Tallarines Huancaína, and for the drinks we got Chicha Morada. We had a great convo with the person who took our order, and found out later on that she was the chef herself!! TV-award-winning Chef Silvana Carranza! It was cool learning from her about what made the ceviche unique, especially as foodies with an interest in food culture and how certain dishes came to be. We each got a free alfajor at the end, since it was around the time of the restaurant's one year anniversary of opening. The alfajor was very addicting, and was also glad to know they're also sold at the restaurant in larger quantities. I had been a fan of Flama Llama (another Peruvian restaurant) for a couple years, but was saddened that the taste and quality of the food had drastically decreased in the past year. The Peruvian Spot has replaced Flama Llama in my heart for best Peruvian restaurant in San Diego, and I have also highly recommended this gem to friends and colleagues that I am close with. This is definitely the restaurant I'd recommend bringing friends/family over for special occasions, or if you're feeling a little sad and need something special to look forward to!

Loved the atmosphere, very Christmasy and Peruvian. We tried the ceviche and tallarin a la huancaina con Lomo. Me (not Vincent) and my boyfriend loved it. Right before we were about to leave, one of their staff let us try samples of their ice creams. We tried passion fruit and alfajor flavor. They were both great, but passion fruit was amazing, amazing. My boyfriend loved it.

I love this place.. im not from San Diego but whenever I travel there this is the first spot to go. They have the best chicharron. And even a play area for your kids. . So you can eat while they play. I have also tried their alfajores, and empanadas and they are sooooo good. Highly recommend
The Peruvian Spot – 7510 Mesa College Dr., San Diego, CA 92111 I had the opportunity to visit The Peruvian Spot with a friend, and I’m so glad I did! From what I’ve heard, they opened at the beginning of 2025, and they’re already doing a fantastic job. The inside décor is bright and inviting, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s conveniently located right across the street from Kearny High School and a 7-Eleven. If you’re looking for something tasty and filling, I definitely recommend trying this place. I was undecided between ordering the Lomo Saltado and the Tallarin Saltado—I went with the Lomo this time, and it was delicious! Now I’ve got the perfect excuse to come back for the Tallarin next time. And to drink I had Maracuya (Passion Fruit)- also had to try the Inca Cola- While we all know Mexican food is always a great choice, it’s worth giving Peruvian food a try—you won’t regret it. The restaurant is clean, uncluttered, and a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. And don’t forget—before you leave, snap a picture with Sami the llama!

I ordered the aji de gallina and lomo saltado tallarines. The service was good but unfortunately the food didn’t meet my expectations. They gave us the regular lomo saltado instead of lomo saltado tallarines, the rice in ají de gallina bowl was going stale/very grainy and cold, the lomo saltado lacked flavor but was also just really salty. Lastly, their maracuya was watered down. I loved the ambiance and I really wanted to love this place as I’m Peruvian and it’s been tough finding a good Peruvian restaurant here in San Diego. However, their picarones were good!
This review is about the their pork sandwich only (pan con chicharrón). I didn’t sample any other food. The sandwich was not a good representation of the traditional Peruvian sandwich 1. The bread was dried and crispy on the outside (they use a mini oven on the bread to warm it up). Typically fresh bread is used. Should not be toasted nor crispy. 2. The sweet potatoes were boiled. They are supposed to be fried. Makes a big difference on the texture and flavor 3. The onions (salsa criolla) had no flavor. No salt, no Peruvian yellow ají and likely regular limes were used. it needs key limes which are stronger like the original Peruvians limes. The key limes softens and cooks the onions. 4. The pork was ok but still had little flavor. Likely not much salt, cumin, garlic, bay leaves. I didn’t try any other food there but the sandwiches are not authentic Peruvian cooking. Making them correctly likely takes more time and effort.
Disappointing Experience — Not True Peruvian Cuisine As someone who’s worked alongside talented Peruvian chefs in Miami and has a deep appreciation for authentic Peruvian flavors, I was genuinely excited to try this place. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The food lacked any resemblance to the vibrant, bold flavors I know and love. We ordered medium-spicy ceviche, Papa a la Huancaína, and shrimp causa — all of which tasted bland, stale, and far from fresh. Even the fries we got for our daughter were undercooked. The setup felt more like a fast-food joint than a restaurant celebrating Peruvian culture: paper plates, bowls, and self-service at the register. It reminded me of McDonald’s, but without the consistency. We ended up tossing everything and driving to Del Mar, which was a breath of fresh air — flavorful, beautifully presented, and worth every penny. This was a complete waste of time and money. If you’ve ever had real Peruvian food, you’ll understand why this place misses the mark entirely.
