This place is delicious. If you can, check out the carnitas tacos or just try the carnitas. Salsa takes me back to a salsa my grandma makes. Must try!!

Came here for a light bite on a Saturday night. Delicious tacos and the brussel sprouts were very memorable.

Amazing food for lunch and dinner... and great prices for SF.

The food was DELICIOUS! And the waitstaff was super friendly. Also, drinks were perfect. I would dine here again in a heartbeat!

30-40 minutes before closing time and one thing I have to say is that it was amazing. ⭐Restaurants would usually fall out at the end of the night but this one didn't AT ALL. ⭐The service was spectacular with knowledgeable recommendations ⭐The food was delicious, I got the Lomo Saltado fairly sized meal with a touch of goodness, highly recommend it!! ⭐The vibe was so chill and nice. Coming with the whole fam was so great! ⭐The prize was excellent, we ordered 3 main, 3 sides and 4 drinks (none alcoholic) for only $104!! Highly recommend this place 😁👍

The churros were delicious- freshly made and perfect. Never knew they could taste that good.

As residents, so happy we found this neighborhood gem in the Dogpatch! Great atmosphere and vibe, lovely service, and the food was yum with generous servings! Would definitely come back.

Food was overall really great. Everything had excellent flavor- had fried brussels sprouts, french fries, pork shoulder and half chicken with maduros (sweet plantains). The chicken was a bit dry, but still excellent taste. Everything else was perfect, would definitely eat here again, but probably skip the chicken and try one of the many other delicious sounding items!

This place is seriously excellent, I work nearby and come often. Every thing I've ever tried has been delicious. The specials are always different and tasty daily. My work got catering from here the other day, the burritos we're all delicious. Healthy amount of guac in them. The Latin fusion element is different and interesting. I would like to try a sit down meal her some time. The sauces are all tasty too. Cool atmosphere inside the restaurant, the takeout is relatively fast too though I'd recommend calling ahead for a quick pick up.

Some of the most delicious food I've had in nine years living in the Bay Area, served in a beautiful yet relaxed space by a very friendly, welcoming staff. The Puerco Pibil was absolutely delicious - perfectly marinated and cooked, tender but with a satisfying chew to it. It was served with black beans, rice, a citrus slaw, corn tortillas, and (upon request) house-made hot sauce, which were all great in their own right and added many layers of flavor and depth to the dish. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Absolutely fantastic! We had the Brussels sprouts, the ensalada, 3-taco plate and burrito and couldn’t be happier. The food was perfectly delicious, the service was great and the beer/wine selection was pretty extensive. Their COVID precautions were on point and because it was a bit chilly outside, we had the patio mostly to ourselves. I definitely recommend Gilberth’s and can’t wait to visit again soon!

Anyone missing this absolutely wonderful restaurant is just foolish - this is by far the BEST Mexican food I have had ever! Gilberth is a genius with all natural ingredients - no gloppy sauces or endless cheese. His Yucatan food is beautiful. I would have posted pics, but we were too busy devouring it.

Best Mexican / Latin food in the Dogpatch & Potrero Hill! Food is delicious, nice presentation, prices are super reasonable, service is fast and helpful. Grab a burrito to go (15 bucks, big enough for two people)or dine in and enjoy their vibey, dimly lit, low key atmosphere —makes for a nice date spot. Worth mentioning they have a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails as well!

Stopped by on a fluke, before hitting Midway for a concert. Very tasty, got the Brussels + Shrimp Ajillo for starters. The Brussels were excellent! For entrees we got Lomo Saltido + Cubano, both solid choices. Shots were hefty + the Mango Agua Fresca hit the spot. Good find.

The food is delicious and I have ordered different items; all excellent and delivered well packed, timely and still hot!! Just ordered the Flautas; one of my favorites!

Really pleased with the food. The starters were excellent. We ordered shishitos, yuca fries and brussel sprouts for the table and they were cooked perfectly, a little charred as they should be! Lomo Saltado and Cubano were tasty too!

Had the taco trio with carne asada, carnitas and pineapple pork - all 3 were very good. Lomo saltado was also very good, the meat was tender. The elote was good too but I thought the serving was small. All together a nice positive experience. Thank you!

This restaurant never disappoints. We love the vibe, the people, and the food obviously. Our comfy place for any night when we want to feel like home, with a good restaurant service.

What was a last minute walk-in for dinner will now be our go to for great latin cuisine. Well worth the visit, as they have a well crafted and delicious menu. Literally everything we had was great and decently priced.

Great little Latin-fusion joint. Lamb burger is great and tostones are always a great side paired with their signature dishes. Friendly service.

It’s an amazing spot, but I guess I came for the wrong day for the soup of the day. I received a nice bowl of soup with chips. It was chile verde style, but instead of pork they used grilled stripes of chicken, likely breast strips, with a tough exterior. The soup resembles more a Tuscan tomato and basil bisque with a chile verde spin rather than the actual dish. Maybe im describing tortilla soup, in the absence of tortillas. While other places serve up the hits like pozole, menudo, mondongo, albondigas, caldo de res, this place seeks to innovate. See, I’ve included a picture of a chicken noodle soup I prepared this evening for reference in case you need ideas.

This was a great pit stop before heading to the Chase Center for a concert. The chips and salsas were tasty, but the standout was the Cubano and margarita. The hot off the griddle Cubano was so good and the sweet, smoky and spicy margarita was very tasty. I would recommend this place.

I had the beef quesadilla. Tasty! But I wish they'd served more pico de gallo and guacamole/sour cream. Beware as the prices have gone up compared to what is advertised on their online menu. They should update their website...

When you first walk in you can smell how good the food is. We came here about 8pm on a week night and got a table but would recommend reservations at a busier time. We got two appetizers to share between the 3 of us. Then each selected an entree, and a side of plantains. Everything was delicious. When we come back, well definitely try other things in the menu. I would be ok with just getting a bunch of small plates and having a bit of everything with a group of friends. The service was great. Street parking might be a little difficult in the area.

Nice environment. The cubano was amazing. The lomito asado was well cooked but the flavor was too sweet. They don’t have beer or wine, they said there was a sign outside but we didn’t saw it.

This was a very unique restaurant with not only its food, but also the experience. Very, very intimate seating with a low lit hue. The food and drinks were amazing. We got a bottle of Sangria to share (shocker) and it set the night off perfectly.

Came here on a Saturday night with no wait! I got the enchiladas with mole sauce and the broccoli and wow I was happy with my choice! The mole sauce worked great with the enchilada and it was a great chewy texture and the broccoli had a nice kick with the chili sauce. The ambiance here was nice and we got a window seat - the bathrooms are easily accessible and the waiters are patient. Great fusion option.

The lamb burger was delicious. Not gamey at all and so flavorful. The fries were also tasty and seasoned well. The burger came with a small bowl of fries and dipping sauces. The salmon dish from the dinner special list was tasty but it was burned in some areas and the quantity was quite small. Will come back to try some other dishes when we're in the area again.

This is a hip little neighborhood spot. The tacos, mole, enchiladas and quesadilla were all delicious. Things are definitely on the fried side of things but delicious. Overall the experience was good but i did have a similar experience to a few other reviews that i read in that the wait staff was very attentive in the beginning and then did not return towars the end of the meal. We had to hunt someone down to get our check, then again to give our card, then over 15 min later we had to go ask for our card back. Otherwise would have been a great experience but can work on the efficiency of service a bit.

Not up to par with most of the good food in San Francisco. A bit of a let down.

I don’t recommend the quesatacos. The goat was very tough, there wasn’t enough cheese, and I didn’t get much birria flavor. Seems like there wasn’t much thought put into this dish; I expected better.

Good prices and good service but I wasn't happy with my dinner. I ordered the Cubano and it was dripping in grease/oil. I also couldn't taste the pickle which is a staple in a Cuban sandwich. On the side was a dry fried patty--either plantain or potato. Flavorless. My friends weren't thrilled with their fish tacos dinner either.

I'm reviewing here because for some reason I can't through Grub Hub. But I think I'll just continue to do the same with other platforms.. I decided to give this place another shot after they screwed up the last time.. But once again, they forget to add steak to my order. I did not make ANY tweaks or add anything to the notes. It's clear someone there has to attention to detail. The company I work for used to order from there for about 10 of us at a time, but it's safe to say this place is a done deal for us.

It breaks my heart to write this review, because Gilberths has been a solid restaurant for me for years for affordable food with good portions. However, I ordered my usual burrito for take out yesterday and had the unpleasant experience of biting into a clothing tag 🙃. This nearly got lodged in my throat and I could have easily choked. I'm now disgusted beyond belief because I can't even begin to imagine how bad the food safety practices must be in the kitchen for this to happen. As I said, so sad because I've been supporting them for years but this is unacceptable.
