Opinions de Hop Oast San Francisco
First brewery of the day and what an excellent neighborhood brew pub sitting on the corner of Bryant St and Cesar Chavez St. A lot to choose from so we went high ABV with the Hazed & Confused Double Hazy IPA at 9%. We both enjoyed it.
Ask for Aron. 23 year brew-master to share SFs best-kept secret - Best American Made- German style beer you have’t had! You must try if you are in the area!
Nice tiny little nano brewery. Their homemade pretzel was excellent and their beers were super fresh and have a great variety, not just the usual 7-8% IPAs. Best part is the service and family friendly atmosphere. What a cool addition to the neighborhood.
A great local Micro Brewery, with good food and a nice place to hang out!
Full disclosure, this place is run by my friend, so my review is likely a tad biased. This friend is the former master brewer of the Park Chalet / Beach Chalet and he's been planning to start his own brewery for years. I'm thrilled to see it finally open and equally thrilled that his brewery's first beers are tasting fantastic. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the place feels new and rough around the edges - but in a good way because it is brand new yet already presents a laid back welcoming feel. I was a bit wary that he opened it without adding more style and design -- but knowing how hard the process is to get all the permitting and go through all of the logistical hurdles, I know I would have thrown the doors open as soon as humanly possible as well (boy did it take a long time!). In just the 3 times I've visited the bar, I've seen it already grow in personality and am excited to see it continue.

Stopped in to try a few in this new neighborhood corner spot. A lager and an IPA are made in-house by the former master brewer for the Park/Lake/Beach Chalets. Also a few other faves on tap. Loved the refreshing summer ale, and the Vienna lager. This place is definitely rough around the edges, as it's just opened its doors. But lends a refreshing kind of anything-goes kind of vibe. Also, food menu is limited to about eight different delicious sausages. Had the beef hot link, the Frankfurter, and the chicken-apple. All delish! All-in-all, an interesting new space to watch!
Went to the first day open, they had eight beers on tap of lots of styles, you can see where they brew in the back. We tried most of them and they were all good, fair prices too for SF and microbrew. You can get hot dogs and grilled ham & cheese which was solid with the beer. The place could maybe use some more decoration inside but it was day one. Overall it’s a low key place with good microbrew serving an area that really needed something like this. Will drop in often
Been eagerly awaiting the opening of this place, and I have to say it delivered! Great beer (they have a brewery in the back!), money snacks, and the owner/staff all seem really nice. It's definitely got a new feel and is still finding it's personality, but I can't wait to see how this spot continues to nestle in.
Really cool little brewery on the corner. They were shut down for a lot of covid but it looks like they've opened back up again. Great place to drop in for a couple beers on a date. They have sausages and pretzels also so you can get it all there.
Fun new brewery. Excellent range of beers. Possibly the best braut in the city... good condiment selection. Quirky but friendly barman. I will go back with different friends and we will have fun despite ourselves.
Their beers are amazing (all brewed in house by the way) and the owner and other customers are all interesting and fun people. If you swing by make sure you say Devin recommended this spot. You won’t get a discount or anything but the owner will think I’m a popular guy 🥸
Uh, the owner is really good at making beer. It's like super obvious. His beer is all made with the hand of a master. I don't know this dude from "Adam" except that I had his beers today and they are excellent - scout's honor, if that still has any validity these days. Regardless, clearly super thoughtful beer making.
I came across this place randomly while walking about the Mission, and what a gem of a find! An excellent neighborhood brew pub, and I had a great time chatting to the bar man and the regulars. Enjoyed their varied selection of high-quality beers, including unusual styles like the smoked wheat beer etc. The food was delicious as well. Highly recommend if you're ever in this part of town.
First time in, went and had a beer while talking beer with Aaron. Smaller neighborhood brewery with good beer and a phenomenal atmosphere. Check this place out.
Great little neighborhood brewery. The beer was great, and had a good variety. The sausage selection was good, as was the pretzel offering. Really enjoyed my experience while coming across it when I was in town for a work trip, and would definitely go back if I'm back in town.
I love this neighborhood brewpub. The beer is excellent, as you'd expect, and the food while simple is also quite good. The bartenders are extremely friendly and it's a great place to meet a friend. The Cesar Chavez corridor will never be a big bar-hopping zone, but give it a try anyway.
Hop Oast has great beer! They brew all of their beer on site and have a wide selection of beers on tap. Aron (owner/brewer) has extensive experiencing in the brewing industry and is a huge advocate of craft breweries in SF. He’s fun to talk to and makes great beer!
Great local brewery, Aron runs the place himself just about all week really awesome guy and great local bar. Stop in for a drink or a snack his beers are top notch and his often fresh always made in house from scratch pretzels are awesome. Also house made beer pickled veggies! This is a hidden local gem.

Love the little quaint scene here! Mellow and not overly busy. The house IPA (Invicta) is really fresh and tasty. A single hop centennial brew that just nails the style. Come and try one. Pretzel, although homemade wasn't as good as the beer :)

I perhaps went it with too high expectations given the reviews, but none of the five samples I tried (dark lager/dunkel, sour, black lager/schwartz, smoked red lager) felt true to style (with the latter obviously being a bit of a curveball). I appreciate the variety of styles, but they all started tasting the same. Nice service, good neighborhood vibe, but as a tourist passing through, I can't quite recommend it.
