Opinions de Jasmine Garden San Francisco
(I am not Vietnamese, Vietnamese-American, or Southeast Asian) Jasmine Garden is a neighborhood treasure. The team is always so welcoming and kind, and the food is delicious. What could more you ask for? I’m currently smitten with the Bún bò Huế (spicy beef pho), but everything I’ve had over the years has hit the spot. The restaurant is perfectly situated near ample public transit and the Castro. Highly recommend anytime - chilly summer day or rainy winter alike.
The food is always delicious and consistent. Best pho in Castro hands down. Probably the best pho outside of the TL. Service is quick and they are always super nice and friendly. Love this place. It’s a staple.
Not only was the service impeccable, but the food tasted amazing! In one visit this quickly became my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town. Their bánh xèo is made from a homemade batter and was a 10/10. Would highly recommend giving this place a visit!
My favorite Vietnamese place in the city. Affordable and delicious. I get the ban no hue noodles. Lemongrass broth. It is divine
Had a really nice lunch at Jasmine Garden. It has a lot of options for vegetarians too. I tried their vegetarian option for chicken stir fry and it was amazing! Highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee and the spring rolls. The food presentation was amazing too. Waiters were were very sweet and the service was quick!
Absolutely delicious food experience. Fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. I’m visiting from the east coast and haven’t had luck with food or motion sickness. Highly recommend the spring rolls and chicken soup!
This place is amazing. Don't get turned away by the exterior and lack of hipster vibe. The food rocks the service deserves a Michelin Star. I selfishly don't want to write a review because it is a hidden gem. The springs rolls will have you ordering more and Veggie Pho - yummm.
This is my go-to spot for pho in the neighborhood. The owners are super friendly, service is impeccable, and the pho is great. Always such a great pick-me-up and just one of those places that makes SF feel like home.
I went here a couple weeks ago (early September 2015), with a party of 4, and we enjoyed 3 types of noodle soup. Two of us had the Jasmine Garden Beef Noodle Soup, 1 of us had the chicken pho, and our last member had the vegetarian. The broth was excellent on all of them. It is very rare to find a well executed vegetarian broth. A lot of places seem to "phone it in", but Jasmine Garden met and exceeded my expectations. I did not try their other dishes, but will certainly come back.
great authentic Viet place near the Castro!
This is my local go-to Pho place and it's always fantastic. It has a cozy, friendly, family-run vibe. The prices are good for SF (around $10 for a huge bowl of Pho). And the Pho is always fantastic. It's rich, tasty, and the basil is always fresh. The quantity is more than adequate - I'm a big guy and I never leave here hungry.
Just left this place ten seconds ago and it was so lovely that we had to leave a review immediately. The owners/staff were so kind and friendly, the service was quick, and the food was incredible. The vegetarian pho lives up to the hype, and the specialty fried rice was delicious (and a generous serving to boot). 10 stars!
Food is absolutely delicious. Unlike some other Vietnamese restaurants around, they don’t douse the food in oil. It’s flavorful and authentic! I’ve dined in and ordered takeout and the quality is very consistent.
Went there for a quick lunch, so quick to the point we had to package most of our food to go but it was so delicious and our server was so helpful and attentive with our quick service. I had vegetarian/vegan imperial rolls and the vegetarian pho. Both I was very impressed with, the rolls came with a vegetarian dipping sauce that was like a vegan fish sauce, very nice addition. The vegetarian pho's broth was super flavorful, many spots don't make the best broth but I was impressed by theirs! I definitely like a spot that has food for all but doesn't skimp on the vegetarian parts.
my family is visiting san fran and had a great experience here. owner is caring and kind, went above and beyond to accommodate a peanut allergy and a large group, made a personal connection with us. the world needs more people like this! delicious food as well, spring rolls, garlic noodles, chicken, were highlights!
I’ve been getting togo from here since about 2017. Their pho ga with extra chicken is my absolute favorite in SF. My boyfriend and I order from here at least once a week. Two pho ga extra chicken and the crunch roll which is soooooo good! We’ve tried a few other things, like the spring roll, green beans, hue noodle soup and garlic noodles, which were all great as well. When my boyfriend is out of town I will order from here 3-4 times in a week. When I’m sick, it’s literally the only thing I can eat. (Thank you for nursing me back to health so many times over the years!) I just wish they were open on Tuesdays too, but I completely understand, I believe they are family owned and should definitely have a day off.
Great flavour, nice atmosphere for a dinner catch up with friend
You wanna eat good food!? This is why we come here! The pho is large and tasty...the allies are presented beautifully. The service staff have been around a long time now, sooo feels like family. Thank you, Jasmin Gardens
No one here on weekend dinner time. A bunch of delivery/takeout orders though. Plenty of seating inside. Hard to find parking around here unless you want to park in the Safeway parking lot near by. No outdoor seating. I ordered their pho which was pretty standard not super amazing but yeah. The imperial rolls were actually really good though!! Food didn't take a long time to come out yay. They had some NBA games on their TVs inside.
Ordered the Chicken Pho and Five Spice Chicken Pho. Both dishes were so good and comforting! The portions are big too. Love how friendly the staff is and the restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. Can’t wait to come back to this neighborhood gem!
super authentic viet spot with really good rolls and pho. chanced upon this family run spots with very warm service and heart warming food. 10/10 will be back
First of all if you all on keto or low carb diet you can kiss them good bye because the foods are really good. You need to try their house specialty which is bbq pork rolls it's Vietnamese with a touch of Thai. They also famous for their pho aka beef soup however their other dishes such as the catfish clay pot is equally good and you can taste the catfish marinated well. The lemongrass chicken also very tasty but can you a bit more marinate time. Overall good experience. BTW the place is not too noisy you can have decent conversation with friend.
I crave this place! I was stuck between a couple items and asked the woman taking our order which one I should get. She said one of them is her favorite and opted for that one. OMG fabulous!!! I have never had anything like it and now I crave it! I was able to have 3 servings off one order and it was delicious every time. I will go out of my way for this tantalizing taste bud experience! Plus the service was outstanding. She was so genuine and pure of heart, with absolute work ethic and pride in what she does. Refreshing.
Love, love, love this place. If you miss Evergreen, try Jasmine Garden! They are related restaurants. Don’t sleep on the beef carpaccio or the lemongrass chicken. Service is super friendly here.
Overall very enjoyable experience with friendly and attentive service in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Well seasoned beef pho broth. The eggplant chicken sauce was rich with a good balance of sweet and salty. An definitely try the crunch rolls - imperial roll inside of a rice paper fresh roll!
I was looking for a decent Asian restaurant around Church St to have a bite before heading back to Glen Park and discovered this Vietnamese restaurant. The place is clean and the foods was good! Loved the Pho special and the Vegetarian Pho as well. Serving portions were generous compared to other Asian restaurants which I had been to in SF. I would definitely recommend this to all!!!
Jasmine Garden is a real neighborhood discovery of food, friendly service, and comfortable atmosphere. One of our Vietnamese friends suggested that we try his favorite spot, and we happily let him pick his favorites from the menu. Wow! Good choice. I think the concensus favorite was the chicken clay pot dish, but the Vietnamese Crepe Banh Xeo was also spectacular. But, picking just those two dishes slights the excellent spring rolls and other dishes that we shared family style. Yes, the food is cooked perfectly. However the standout taste memory is the spices. They were present and active, but never the sole focus of a dish. All of this comes with a friendly, humorous staff and a low-key neighborhood dining space. I give this a strong recommendation and also suggest eating there and not ordering door dash or even take-away. Enjoy eating in a place that feels low-key but slightly different!
A great little gem! I got the chicken pho which was delicious— a perfect winter meal. Good portions and prices. The staff was also extremely friendly— it’s the kind of place where you can tell by the way folks say hello that it’s not their first time there and definitely won’t be their last.
This is one of our go to spots in the area - great taste, good portion size, and very reasonable prices. I always get the pork spring rolls, beef carpaccio, and either the beef or chicken pho. They also make a super tasty bun bo hue. Some of the entrees (like the lemon grass salmon) have this really delicious sticky rice too!! The people who run the place are also wonderful. Love this place ♥️
A super unassuming place that has really great food. It looks like every other small Asian restaurant until the food is in your mouth. The garlic noodles are the best I have ever had.

Jasmine garden is our favorite restaurant in SF full stop. We love the pho of course but the garlic noodles are also second to none :)

Had a great meal! Ordered the soy chicken - it was very tasty as a meat substitute! It wasn't spicy at all, so I'll change that when I go back. Not too expensive, and the server was friendly and funny, though a bit rushed - I feel bad because it looked like they could use another person. I'll definitely go back!
Jasmine Garden is a charming neighborhood gem with mouthwatering Vietnamese cuisine! The super friendly staff treats you like family and always remembers your name. The spring rolls are fresh and bursting with flavor, while the imperial rolls are perfectly crispy and delicious. This place offers a delightful dining experience that keeps you coming back for more!
No frill Vietnamese food. I think it’s the best five spice chicken noodle soup in all of San Francisco. If they play better music or even none at all we would be even better.
My veg pho was HUGE! I’ve had better Vietnamese veggy soups but it’s not their focus so it’s ok. The broth was light and tasty, they packed my soup take away as well(I asked). The staff is friendly (they kind of want u to go as soon as u nearly finish though as most Asian places ), clean and nice overall. Looks like it is a very local spot.

a bit disappointed at this neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant. The service is good but the chef really wasn’t trying to make the dish better. They used the wrong type of noddle for Bun bo hue, the soup was a bit too sweet; while the chicken in clay pot is chewy as jerky.
Six months ago we moved in just a few steps away from the restaurant and finally decided to try it today. We've read the reviews, saw the high grade and our expectations were high. Not sure what happened. The first thing that hit us is the unpleasant smell. It's not our first Vietnamese restaurant, and you expect the smell of spices and flavors that you are less familiar with, but in this case, it was acidic and unpleasant. Even though the place was only half full, the waiters were really impatient with us with a great sense of urgency that was very unclear. For an appetizer, we chose the imperial rolls. Pretty good, but clearly heated in a microwave and not very fresh. The Garlic noodles were very mediocre and uninspiring. Jasmine garden noodle soup was ok-ish but .. I don't know. I've seen the reviews on this website, and on few others. The average grade is ~4.5 or so. I really wish I felt it deserved even a 3 star. The service is unfriendly, the food is not fresh (some it at least) and I'm not coming back. Maybe it's just me, I don't know.
A disappointing experience given all the other reviews. The food was good but not great - didn't really stand out vs any other neighborhood Vietnamese place I've been too. Our experience was let down by lackluster service where we didn't get rice for one of the dishes and waited 20 minutes to get our check which was then slammed down on the table. I'm not sure what if anything we did to upset the staff other than all several times for the check. Maybe it was just an unusually busy Sunday? Probably would repeat.
We were hoping to find authentic Vietnamese dishes in San Francisco and stumbled upon Jasmine Garden. We stopped in mainly for the Vietnamese-style eggrolls (Imperial Rolls), but unfortunately, they were a letdown. The Beef Carpaccio (Bò Tái Chanh) was very fresh with onions, cilantro, peanuts, and shallots adding a nice crunch, though the beef was a bit too rare for our taste and too big for a bite size. The biggest disappointment was the Chicken Clay Pot—it was overly sweet, lacking depth of flavor, and the chicken was tough. On the bright side, the jasmine rice was cooked perfectly.

Ordered The noodle soup for pick up, on the menu price was 8$ to the soup, but when i was there they were telling that it is old menu, is it my problem that you have old menu here?! They charged me 20$ for just one soup which wasn’t tasty, it was too oily and too hot to try it I waited for 40-50min, and didn’t even eat because it wasn’t good soup, at the end the employee asked me for signature which more important then customers satisfaction, I don’t recommend to nobody to visit this place.
Very poor experience. The employees were careless and unprofessional. They showed no responsibility toward their work and wasted my time unnecessarily. Customer service was terrible, and their behavior was rude and careless. This place seriously needs better staff training and accountability. 👎😡 Would not recommend at all.
