Opinions de Jolenes Bar San Francisco
As an openly queer femme, this is the best nightclub for feminine identities in the Bay Area LGBTQ+ community. The venue was such a safe space and the bartender was considerate. I danced my heart out, played pool with some friends, hyped up club dancers, received hugs from other sapphics, easily made new friends, drank a lot, and ate ramen. I genuinely enjoyed my experience. Not many LGBTQ+ nightclubs are feminine-friendly spaces. Thank you so much for existing.
Am so grateful I got to experience this place with my partner! 100% recommend if you’re looking for a safe place to connect with people and are in the LGBTQ+ community.
Went to brunch yesterday for my mom’s 76th birthday. It was an absolute blast. We had so much fun and she was treated like a queen. Thank you to the whole amazing crew at Jolene’s. We will be back!!
This was my first time being able to celebrate Pride (and in San Francisco no less!). Jolene’s was full of wonderful LGBT folks from all over the Bay Area the night after the parade- but we know the real Pride starts when we can all share the same intimate space. The music and atmosphere was static. Jolene’s is a place where you can revel in the joy, the resilience, the protest, and the camaraderie that the San Francisco lgbt+ community has to offer.

We're visiting SF from the midwest, and this was the first time my wife and I had ever been to a lesbian bar. I cannot possibly stress enough what a fun, magical experience it was coming to Jolene's! The drinks were great, the staff were delightful, the dancers gave us heart palpitations, and the atmosphere was so energetic that we were just in awe at it all. It was amazing to have a place where we could have fun and be openly in love around other folks like us without any fear; that alone was almost more intoxicating than the drinks! It's also worth mentioning for anyone concerned that this place is super trans-friendly, so worry not on that front! I cannot recommend Jolene's enough, and we'll definitely be back before the end of our trip!
Only been here once while in town from EU, was for UHual all female night and the eye candy was fantastic. Hot women of all backgrounds, love it! Def going back just for that. Plus free before 9pm, good deal before things get too crowded. We loved that it wasn’t too crowded too. Enough people but also plenty of space to chill and dance.
Jolene’s is everything a neighborhood bar should be. This place just gets it. Great energy, friendly bartenders who actually seem to enjoy being there, and a crowd that feels down to earth and inclusive. The cocktails are strong (and surprisingly well-balanced for the price), the music is always on point, and the vibe walks that perfect line between chill and lively depending on the night. What really stands out, though, is the sense of community. Even if you come alone, you never really feel alone here. People actually talk to each other. It’s a spot where you can dance a little, have a drink that isn’t watered down, and just be. Whether you’re starting your night or closing it out, Jolene’s hits different. 100% recommend.
Best bar I’ve been to in SF! Vibes- immaculate! Will be coming back every time I need to decompress!
I love this place! I travel from Vietnam to just experience this!!! Everyone were so kind and friendly. Great drinks and good music.

Great vibes and a safe feeling place. Definitely recommend to folks wanting a good place to dance.

Such a fun Sunday Brunch! They had eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles (yes, that’s a waffle), fruit, potatoes and croissants. Type of sausage meat wasn’t listed. Complimentary mimosa comes with brunch, and overall it seemed worth it for $40! The performances were awesome as well but a little disorganized; I think they could refine the event down to be 2 hrs long. Also seating is very close and not conducive for allowing people to sit comfortably.
I wish we (still) had lesbian bars like this, in Portland! 💋👩❤️👩🍸 Good drink specials, delicious made to order food, a little on the spendy side for bar grub, but that might just be my lack of comfort with San Francisco pricing 🤣. I loved the wall of pictures in the back room dance floor (wink) and the wallpaper is really delightful... you'll just have to visit to know what I'm talking about! Relaxed, fun atmosphere.. even on an early Friday night it was still busy enough to feel anonymous if that's your thing, but enough room to move and dance. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

Definitely skews young (20s), with louder music and flashing lights on a Thursday, but that likely says more about me… 1/2 bartenders were friendly, but I guess everyone has bad days. The one baffling thing: only 2-3 toilet stalls in the whole place (I went when it was barely half empty, can’t imagine the bathroom lines on a busy Saturday!)
Visited from out of town with friends and we loved the vibe here! Great service and drinks. We loved the art in the background but were disappointed by the lack of representation and diversity in the art.

I've tried to like this bar but- but it feels... off. Sorta like someone has pushed the ta⁹ ofbles and chairs together when your little to play restaurant

I had such an amazing time at Jolene’s that I was so so so disappointed to see that they charged the wrong amount on my credit card and added extra on the tip for themselves even though I remember clearly writing in a different amount. Times are tough but please don’t scam your supportive patrons :( we bought a lot of drinks so trying to pull one over us on top of that is so dishonest
Really disappointed by this place, especially as a queer woman who was excited to support a lesbian bar. I forgot to close my $60 tab, and the initial card charge got flagged because I had just updated my banking info. Instead of simply re-running my card later (which ultimately did go through), the staff decided to look me up on Instagram and DM me asking for Venmo. I can’t express how inappropriate and unsettling that felt. Bars — especially queer/lesbian community spaces that are supposed to feel safe — should never cross that kind of boundary. Being “found” online over three drinks is not normal, and it absolutely made me uncomfortable. They already had my card on file. There was no need to search my personal social media or contact me privately. It came across as a real invasion of privacy, and it completely changed how I felt about the space. Really disappointed this is how they handled it. I won’t be back.

Always want to show love to my queer spaces but paying $40 to get denied entry and have to stand in line with people who didn’t pay for a ticket ahead of time is absurd. Why did I pay for a ticket?? Thanks for swindling me Jolene’s, happy Pride.
They served me bad vodka and tried to tell me it was fine. Said "alcohol doesn't go bad" but according to google it can. I have never gotten so sick from a shot in my life. It was my first shot of the night too. My friend took a shot with me and she said it tasted like “musty old vodka.” The bartender was unprofessional and didn’t even check the vodka to make sure it was okay.
Terrible. The atmosphere can only be described as moist and not the fun kind: hot & humid. The service is always terrible, the drinks are way over priced and not well balanced, the beer tap tastes like it hasn’t been cleaned in the entire time they’ve been open. Just avoid
We tried to go on a Saturday night. There was a $15 cover charge that the door person failed to inform us about. Once inside the hostess that was taking payment for entry was very rude. As queer women we were excited to visit SF and the only lesbian bar in the city, but left with a stale taste in our mouths. We ended up leaving without paying the cover and do not plan to try and visit again.
