A gem of a cafe that is perfect for your mind. Awesome people who totally know what they are doing, not only in terms of drinks and food, but also the choice of music (played at just the right volume), the cleanliness of the bathroom, Pretty much everything I can think of. Very impressed. Thank you for being here.
Charming little neighborhood space with great mochi treats and coffee selection. Can get a bit crowded; sometimes you need to wait for a table to open up.
Discovering this gem of a coffee spot was a delightful surprise during our travels in America. We were on the hunt for a quality brew that wasn’t just another instant coffee, and this place definitely delivered. The only hiccup? The barista wasn’t quite as speedy as the ones we’re used to back home in New Zealand. But honestly, the wait was well worth it for such a delicious cup! If you’re seeking a high-quality coffee experience away from the usual Starbucks, we wholeheartedly recommend you check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!
I have been enjoying my morning espresso almost every morning here. It’s definitely by the best coffee place in SF. The staff radiates friendliness and kindness, you always feel welcome. The ambience reminds me of Tokyo, and you can really taste and feel the influence of Japanese craftsmanship on the quality of the food, coffee and staff.
The perfect quiet corner just around the block. Aptly-named Neighbor’s is exactly that; the neighbor you’ve always dreamt of. I’ve yet to try the food but if it’s anything like the coffee and crowd attest to, count me in.
Amazing coffee (locally roasted) and Japanese teas (imported directly from Japan). Great selection of fresh bakery and very delicious homemade sandwiches. The warmth, welcoming and caring service of the owners is so heart warming. They made us feel at home and shared a meal (marinated sliced beef) they were preparing with us. Definitely worth the stop if you are around SF.
This cafe is about a 15 min walk from my house, and I go there as an exciting destination. Japanese leaning menu in a quiet neighborhood spot. If you’re tea drinker, this is heaven. Incredible teas made in latte, spritz, hot water steep… every form. I recommend the hojicha (roasted green tea) latte, which is naturally lower in caffeine. They make matcha the right way, in a bowl with a whisk. It’s just perfect. Dog parking hook by the front door, and dog treats in the pick up area.
Exceptional service—truly notable. Staff is totally friendly, gracious, and anticipated your needs. Hospitality level was that of a fancy restaurant, rather than a neighborhood cafe. The important stuff: coffee and toast were delicious and perfectly prepared. Bonus: tastefully curated retail items, including matsutake salt (!) and mistletoe ($1!)
one of my favourite cafés in san francisco. it make for a good lunch break on a hilly day hike from alamo square area. the espresso is usually very good but can vary, some times excellent and sometimes just okay - it seems to vary due to the blend from the roaster and the alternative milk they have at the time.. todays weekend visit was very good on the coffee and it was not overtaken with remote workers.. my only comment is sometimes when i go here it is like laptop lane at an airport with persons obviously remote working and taking a table for hours at a time and just buying a cup of coffee... most inconsiderate... please keep you visits to an hour or less if it is busy... ..well i am a little more understanding when students do this near a university, but it really gets annoying when you go to cafés and people treat it like it is their office.
Where do I even start with Neighbor’s Corner? Tl;dr at the bottom I used to occasionally swing by this coffeeshop for a to-go coffee during the pandemic. I pass by one day in April 2022 and don’t recognize anyone behind the counter. When I ask, I’m told there was a change of ownership. Everyone seems nice but my first coffee-under-new-management is ok. Within weeks, Maya-san, Ryoji-san and Kazmua-san, along with the owners of Hedge coffee, made adjustments to transform an “ok coffee” to some of the best coffee in the city. 6 months later, I can confidently say Neighbor’s serves top tier espresso-based coffee. Everything from their espressos to their cappuccinos and mochas are fantastic. The cafe au lait at Neighbor’s is my cozy antidote to cold and/or foggy mornings in the city. Not in the mood for coffee? The matcha cappuccinos and hojicha lattes SLAP (smack may be the correct terminology in 2023? Or is it so 2020??) Ok we get it, the coffee and tea is great (so is the breakfast sando, which can be made with a croissant fyi). But what makes Neighbor’s what it is are the people behind the counter. Maya-san has assembled an A-team of genuinely kind and very skilled people. They’ve built a place that feels like home for everyone: regulars from the surrounding neighborhood regularly (obviously) come for their morning coffee, alone with a book or with family / friends. Others come with their laptops for a couple of hours of focused work. On the weekend, a melange of people congregate and it all clicks - Neighbor’s Corner becomes a corner community for regulars and newcomers alike. Tl;dr as promised: fantastic coffee/tea, made by kind, passionate people. A one of a kind coffeeshop in the city and a gem for the neighborhood.
LOVE this neighborhood cafe with the best baristas and cutest atmosphere! Def recommend and especially on a nice weekend morning!
Great coffee and ambiance. Music is a good level and acoustics are good enough so that I could read even with people’s chatter. Turkey avo sand tasted very healthy and was a good portion. Not the tastiest sandwich I’ve ever had, but still satisfying.
Amazing sandwich (turkey avo club) and vanilla latte (so thick and creamy). My husband got the matcha strawberry latte and Japanese rolled omelette sandwich. The people there gave incredible, friendly service. The man making the drinks takes such care and pays such attention to detail. Nice ambiance and easily found a table. Will definitely be back often!
A warm place to meet for coffee and... A tasty egg sandwich made my morning more enjoyable. Pleasant music coming from the speakers helped refresh my mind. I see people sitting here reading books, writing their stories and thoughts in their diaries. Talking about life, deepening relationships. Parents with children enjoying each other's company. Owners of wonderful dogs enjoying the warmth of the morning. My stay here is accompanied by a lack of rush and very friendly service. Thank you.
i loved my time at this cafe. it being tucked into a neighborhood and the vibe inside reminded me of overseas cafes i’ve been to. i ordered a flat white, which was more on the acidic side, and a dirty hojicha latte. i can’t wait to come back!
Great vibes, my egg salad sandwich was one of the best i’ve ever had 😍
They have a unique coffee called Okinawan Kokutu latte, it has a bit stronger flavor but is good.
Neighbor's Corner is a hidden gem cafe on the hills of Eureka Valley. The shop is bright and cozy, the atmosphere is neighborly and relaxing, and the baristas are friendly and gentle, making the shop a great place to grab a cup of coffee, get some work done, or to meet up with friends. I stopped by a couple of times and had great experiences. The coffee, from the local roaster Hedge Coffee, is delicious; they can also be paired with a pastry or sandwich to make a great light meal. Overall, Neighbor's Corner is the neighborhood cafe that one will be lucky to have.
Cute and simple menu, each item is delicious and has a unique twist. Environment is sunny and airy, clean and welcoming. Seating is first come first serve caffe style. A neighborhood gem!
My go-to weekend spot is hands down this place. Their Japanese fusion menu is simply amazing. The bakery items with mochi fillings are a must-try; the tamago sandwiches are also standout with their thick layers of fried egg. I was also pleasantly surprised with their seasonal special peach drink when I visited this weekend.
Delightful cafe with superb coffee and excellent service in safe, quiet neighborhood. What a find! Started with Jenn who pleasantly took my order. Patrons were also friendly (shout to Nate and Scott). Barista Sarah is a master who prepared superb cappuccino and cortado; decaf cappuccino also fantastic. This establishment sells their coffee beans which we purchased and are now enjoying at home. My readers know this is big plus for me. Premises are clean, bright with large windows, art on the walls. Small outside seating for soaking up the sun. After a delightful walk to Kite Hill for expansive city views we returned to enjoy an artisanal matcha strawberry latte beverage elegantly crafted with homemade strawberry purée - another work of art by maestro Sarah who proudly described the process. This is a new favorite destination of ours for coffee in the Bay Area and beyond. Bravo!
A true little gem! Stumbled in today and didn’t know it was a Japanese owned cafe. I was super excited to have a Hojicha latte but the tea was on order from japan. Met one of the owners who overheard me talking about the Hojicha and she was from beppu! A super cool town I just visited in japan a few months ago. She was super sweet. The tamago sando and the turkey club were super fresh, high quality and Oishi!Wonderful bright ambiance, clean and lots of seating. Really can’t wait to return and support them. Five stars! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Favourite spot in the neighborhood. Amazing espresso, easily the best quality around here! Rich and juicy, strong mocha notes. Tasty breakfast sandwiches too. Great place to work remote - has some outlets too.
Currently my favorite coffee shop in SF. Location, ambiance, and service are great. Best cortado I've had and their japanese inspired pastries and food are delicious. Perfect spot to hangout at for a while or to work from. Very dog friendly as well.
My boyfriend and I came here as tourists and loved it so much we came back twice in 2 days! Definitely the best coffee we had in SF (and we’d tried a lot !), service was super friendly and great ambience too. We also ordered the cheese toastie with bacon on a whim, and it was incredible! In my boyfriend’s words, “toastie chef man absolutely knows what he’s doing”. Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

Wonderful local coffee shop. Friendly staff, nice ambiance, plenty of light, and good coffee. It is cozy and warm and a nice place to meet people, hang out, or do some work. I look forward to coming here.

This coffee shop serves some of the best coffee in San Francisco. The baristas consistently deliver excellent quality, making each cup a true treat. Don’t miss out on their sandwiches—my favorite is the grilled cheese with added egg and bacon.

Neighbors is a noe neighborhood staple! Lots of great japanese inspired drinks and dishes. I enjoy adding black sugar to my drink to feel fancy. The staff is also very nice and knowledgeable about the coffee. Everyone also wears cool band tshirts if you're looking for that vibe.

Pretty cute bright place, yummy pastry. I would give it 5 stars but just felt like the seating was a bit cold / not cozy and my drink was a 4/5. There was space to sit by the espresso bar that wasn’t comfy and in the center of the room a bit awkward. If you can find a spot by the window you’re golden. Also the oat milk was a bit bitter for my taste. But these were nit picky not glaring things and I really do like the space overall and the food looks delicious!
Sweet little cafe on a corner at the top of a hill. Bright interior and a nice, cozy atmosphere. My avocado toast was good. The service was friendly and helpful although they initially forgot to make my avocado toast.
I really look forward to this cafe. But the coffee was not as great as what I expect. Same goes with the sandwich. Just decent
Really wanted to love Neighbor's Corner, but our experience was just okay. The breakfast sandwich wasn't that great—the bread was too tough. I wish it were still served on milk bread as the old photos show. The black sesame latte was pretty good but a bit too chalky in consistency. The spot is really cute but there was no seating because it was completely swamped with people working on their laptops, so we took our food to go.

Matcha cappuccino taste like milk! Avacado toast I don’t think is worth the $12 , ambience is great though. There is no menu on display visible from the line, they have one right at the beginning of the line which is not very helpful.
I am so sorry to say that this was the worst cappuccino of my life, it was not drinkable. I even asked for a remake but it was still extremely sour and not good. They were really nice and a super cute cafe but the coffee is just not worth it :(

I love the ambiance and come to this coffee shop quite often. But omg I wish the bartenders were a little less stuck up - whenever I interact with most of them I feel like they hate to be here and I’m inconveniencing them with just my existence lol. Asked for a charger today and they’re “not allowed to give it” 😂
the staff were passive aggressive, snobby and rude (asked some pretty simple questions about the menu and was met with smirks and exchanged glances and general gross behavior) but the vegetarian sandwich was pretty good, the tea was a bit watery but i also chose to forgo sweetener so maybe that threw off the balance. the setting and atmosphere is really cute although it’s a bit busy. but the customer service/pretentiousness ultimately drew my rating down, not at all worth it.
We came here today for an oat cappuccino. The café itself is furnished very nicely. Unfortunately, because there were so many guests with laptops, we were only able to sit at the counter for a short time and then took our coffees to go. The coffee was much too sour for our taste, but that’s a matter of preference. What really bothered us, though, was the unfriendly barista. Because of that, we wouldn’t come here again.

Bad experience eating there at lunch today, it took a good 35 minutes to prepare 3 poor bagels. No communication, no apologies but even more so, no care preparing them. The tomato slice was almost as thick as the bagel. Besides, the size of the bagel is ridiculous for the $15 price tag tax and tip included. Cute place and convenient to have this around the neighborhood but I will walk further next time I need a quick and filling lunch.
