Opinions de Suki Sushi San Francisco
Very best value for quality and portions in all of SF. Their delivery service is second to none with no delivery fee and tip going directly to their drivers.
For some reason Google deleted all their reviews, but this has been my go to sushi joint for the last 8 years. Sushi is affordable and quite good for what they offer. This is a local sushi joint so stick to the basics; nigiri, sashimi, etc. My favorite is their lunch special; Sushi Combo A which includes 10 pieces of California roll (super fresh imitation crab and avocado), 5 pieces nigiri, and a miso soup! It's <$15 dollars and super worth it.
delicious high quality for low cost
Always my favorite place for simple sashimi. Very fresh and reasonably priced. I've had sashimi at Tsukiji Market, and I personally can't tell the difference, except Tsukiji was more expensive. They also serve an off-menu spicy chicken cartilage dish that is awesome and perfectly pairs with sake or beer. Just ask for it from Bing or Mandy, the owners who work the sushi bar and tables. It's a family-run place, which means that it can sometimes sound like a typical Asian household: loud and noisy. Hey, expand your horizons. Also, if you bring your own sake, the owners are pretty cool about it. Out of decency and good manners, you should offer some to Bing of course :) Finally, when in stock, I like the pan-fried black cod dish the most. The mom, who's the kitchen chef, cooks it well and it's responsibly sourced! (My friend's sustainably-sourced seafood wholesale business sells it to him.)
This place serves the best sushi at an amazing price. My girlfriend and I can eat here for 20 bucks including a 20% tip. Best part of all? It's delicious.
Delicious food!!! Staff was very friendly and quick. Make sure to try the gyoza, it was amazing!!!
This place, they make very good sushi, The sushi is fresh. They have good hygiene. The co worker are alway friendly and they treat each other with respect and the customer. The place is decoarate very nicely.
This place is so good. best Japanese restaurant in town. Would definitely recommend coming here. YOU WONt REGreT iT. well, I have to go now, so I will see you in the next review? sure, cya.
If you had more 🌟 stats I would like to know. Definitely, complements to the Chef and the owners to. Lamb chops, soft-shell crab, and everything was fantastic...
Very calm restaurant with good, speedy service. The chicken udon is my favorite soup. It's not complex, however, it's a great flavor & everything is delicious. The chicken is cooked perfectly, the broccoli is soft & easy to bite into, and the broth is full of flavor. It's the best thing to have in the winter. My family also enjoys the entrée teriyaki meals. The soba is great for the summer. A very diverse menu.
Absolutely shocked by how good this place was— I preferred the nigiri here to some omakase places we’ve been to recently. Prices were nothing short of amazing considering the quality, artistry, and selection. Hidden gem!
Wonderful service and great food . This place has been here for over twenty years
I was craving some really good tempura but it's SO HARD to find good take out that isn't soggy when you get home or it's delivered to you!! Since restaurants are only allow to serve takeout or delivery, I decided to go pick it up and cross my fingers!! OMFG I made the perfect choice!!! I drove from West Porta to Portola Valley (San Bruno Ave and Silver area) looked for parking. Then got my daughter one of those milk tea and boba drinks she likes and had to wait for it to be made. The whole time regretting going there, thinking our food would be soggy for sure now. By the time I walk down to our place and opened up the food I was SHOCKED!!! Not only was the tempura light and crunchy, it was so tasty. The sushi was fresh and amazing!!! The soup was so good I asked my daughter for her's but she'd already finished it. I got 2 bento boxes one with tempura and teriyaki chicken and the other with a California roll and tempura, plus 2 tempura appetizers for under $40!! Currently the owner is working alone probably because it's so slow. Which is crazy because hands down that was the best Japanese for I've ever had!!
Came here for lunch. The fish all tasted fresh and had good texture, though I wouldn't call any of it exceptional. That said, the lunch prices are low enough it's an excellent value and I will definitely be coming back for a sushi fix that doesn't make me feel guilty for overspending. I will still need to occasionally go elsewhere (and pay at least double) for a fancier date night dinner.
Was headed downtown for a concert and this restaurant was along the way of the Metro so we decided to try it out. The sushi were decent and tasty. The sashimi were sliced thicker than I'm used to but was not an issue. Overall no complaints with the food. If I had to nitpick, the atmosphere felt a bit of a mix bag with European paintings and all-cantonese speaking staff which questions the authenticity of the (Japanese) restaurant. Then again, who am I to judge, we ordered a maki with cream cheese 🤣
Dropped by for lunch on a Saturday. The place was quiet. I was able to sit anywhere I wanted. I ordered the tonkatsu lunch special, which came with miso soup, and Toro and yellow fin nigiri. Really enjoyed my lunch. The Toro was delicious. The breading on the tonkatsu was extra crispy.
Basic. Delicious. Comfortable. I’ve yet to have a bad meal at Sushi Suki. Rice is cooked to perfection. Sashimi is always fresh. Some of the best oysters that I’ve had are from here. Reasonably priced and topped with tobiko, lemon juices and a slightly spice soy that just makes this delicacy even more delicious. If you don’t like raw food, there are plenty of of other choices. Their kama is always grilled to perfection. Or try their short ribs. The service is always excellent. Quick with tea refills, removing empty plates or other requests. Definitely a favorite.
Very fresh and reasonably priced $$. The service here feels very friendly and definitely cozy. Love the miso soup because plenty of tofu and seaweed. The chicken takoyaki is nicely seared so it has a good crisp texture of the outer layer. Also they served complementary hot tea unlike other japanese restaurants.
The BEST sushi in the City, at an affordable price. Everything is fresh and tasty, and the miso soup is amazing. Try the Dynamite or Rock and Roll rolls, because both are to die for. The mango sushi is also surprisingly good!!
I LOVE thier Vegetable Tempura Rolls so much! Sooo goodd for very little price! I don't eat meat and raw stuff, so most sushi places don't work well for me except this place! Lolll 😅 My fav sushi place in SF so far !
Great food at a very good price. The sushi was delicious!

Good food, affordable prices, and quick service too. Will come here again. 👍👍👍👍
Food is tasty and service is wonderful! Staff knows that we love to sit by the fish tank and always greets us with a hot cuppa tea. Sushi is affordable and tastes fresh. Feels like a cozy neighborhood eatery. There’s always families who come in to enjoy the food and atmosphere.
Stopped in for lunch had a couple rolls and tried the chicken teriyaki. The fish was very fresh and delicious. The lunch special came with a soup, salad & rice. Large portion of chicken. It was tender and crispy for like 12 bucks can’t beat it. Awesome experience thank you.
Hands down the best bang for your buck Japanese restaurant in SF. Nigiri and Sashimi is amazingly fresh and thick-cut, and the Oyako Don never disappoints. Spicy tuna roll is a must try as well. I’ve been a regular here for a long time and plan to keep on coming.
I LOVE this little place. The quality and price of the fish is unbeatable. The atmosphere is humble and unassuming, but that's how you know it's 100% about the food. After our first visit, we came back 4 times that month. It's family owned and operated. They have items like uni, Japanese scallop and torro available at a premium. They also have televisions by the bar, so my boyfriend can watch sports and I can have a satisfying Japanese dinner.
the sushi is always absolutely delicious, the prices are good, and the service is amazing. everything is good but whatever's on the board is extra fresh. I've been here a few times, and every time I'm surprised it isn't full. I can't stress enough how great sushi suki is!
This has been my favorite Japanese restaurant since 2006. The vibe has not changed one bit, nor the people. The food is amazing and fresh. West portal is also a very cute area of the city to enjoy while there.
Our family has been enjoying sushi from here for many years. The price is reasonable and there is friendly service. Some favorites are the miso soup, hamachi sashimi, eel rolls, and tempura udon. The combination sets are also good. They offer to-go and call for delivery services.
It's so delicious but so much more affordable then other Japanese food we've had. Our family really enjoys this sweet little hole in the wall
Good food, affordable prices, and quick service too. Will come here again. 👍👍👍👍

Rolls were simple, but the fish was fresh and it was good even the next day. The miso soup was a little busy for me, I usually like a really simple one, but I'm probably wrong, you should try it. I only knocked off a star because they didn't have any special rolls unless it had tuna. I'd go back.
Cold spinach with sesame dressing was unique and flavorful. The rolls are big and tasty. It is not your typical Japanese restaurant because they are not japanese. Could be cleaner and more attentive as I had to ask and get up to do so. They were nice about it but not with the Japanese sensibilities
Got there before the evening rush so we got seated right away! The sushi was good and the staff was friendly and attentive. Nice mom and pop restaurant.
Clean, excellent food, inattentive service, good value. Go if you don't mind being ignored, consider it quirky restaurant where the good outweighs the not so good. Otherwise do takeout. BTW: if you need to avoid certain common allergens, be specific because they put egg on donburi and sukiyaki.
Suki Sushi, where have you been the last 17 years I've lived near West Portal? Well, apparently, in the same place and I never knew it (kicking myself)! It's so tucked away in this strange two-story building that I've never wanted to venture inside. I've been on the hunt for reasonably priced sushi and good quality fish, and this is it! Really great sashimi, crab rolls, seaweed salad, and delicious miso soup. This is now going to be our go-to for takeout sushi. However, I docked 1 star because of the 69/100 health code rating: I hope you improve it.
We regularly order delivery from here. Their food is excellent quality and great value. This was our first time dining in the restaurant. While the food was their usual standard, our order was wrong and it took nearly an hour to be served. In the end we had to leave before all our nigiri was ready.

Not the greatest sushi but this place isn't crazy busy like Fuji a block up and you can get your food pretty quick. My favorite dish here is their spinach salad. It's cooked spinach served cold with a sesame dressing. We tend to get a few different sushi, tempura and udon. Parking here is much easier because there's not as many restaurants at this end of West Portal. Server is ok, same waitress here for years. Most of the customers are regulars.
Ok... This is possibly the best priced sushi in the city. My daughter goes to college nearby and I bring her here to get her sushi fix. It's a small spot but there is never a wait. The sushi always comes out fresh and delisious. The service is a bit slow but not bad for what you get.
The sushi presentation was as nice as many places. Sushi taste was okay, I guess more American style with thicker cut sashimi. The Hamachi Kama was fried instead of of grilled. It was good, but not quite what was expected. When the sushi chef coughed and wiped his nose with back of his hand, I lost my appetite.
Small place for Japanese fare. Decently priced. Only 3 stars because during our first visit, the server held a really loud and obnoxious conversion with another customer throughout our whole dinner. I'm sure they were enjoying their talk but it was quite distracting from our table.
The owner seems very impatient to us asking questions. The food is okay and they provided fried shrimp head if you order amaebi:) I think if they could improve their attitude a bit better, that will be awesome.
Went out for a Sunday dinner with the girls, and everyone seemed to really enjoy their food and aside from a pleasant presentation, my food was rather dry, it seemed like it needed some kind of seasoning or sauce, everything just lacked SOMETHING, so the food wasn't all that special. Good prices, but I was also a little disappointed when we were told we could not add anything to the rolls the had listed, not even something as simple as cream cheese. It's an alright sushi place, personally I think it could be better.

Maybe I went on an off day or something but this was my first time here. There was only one person working everything. He was working the sushi bar, sitting people, cashier, literally everything. I got two sushi rolls and both were disappointing with the salmon tasting off in both of them. I ate the whole 49er roll but it was the worst 49er roll I ever had and the other roll, salmon and avocado, tasted so bad I couldn’t finish it.
I waited for way too long for my food. By the time they even realized they forgot my order, my friends were done. Checks came way late too, for everyone. I even offered to pay for the portion that came at a reasonable time. There was no attempt made to reconcile. Only reason I don't give it less stars is that the donburi wasn't terrible, but it's not that complicated of an order to begin with.
Food was mediocre at best, we ordered 2 speciality rolls, 2 uramaki rolls, 1 maki roll, and 1 order of nigiri. The fish had little taste (probably past prime), and the pieces were almost too big to eat. Service was horrible, staff was more interested in talking on their phones or sitting I a group at the back of the restaurant. I do NOT recommend.

Terrible service and unclear menu. Ordered from lunch menu only after them saying certain combos don't include rice, salad and soup. Server yelled and walked away. Customer definitely not first here.
My friend and I attempted to go to this location with a service animal and were denied entry. Two of the workers told us we could not go in. We told them that the small dog with us was a service animal. They asked to see documentation, which by law they’re actually not supposed to do but we complied and showed them a digital copy. They insisted that it must be a physical copy, saying incorrectly that it was like a driver’s license. We informed them that this wasn’t the case and they just kept repeating that they would face a fine. The encounter was calm but we eventually gave up and walked away. Let this be a word of caution with anyone attempting to come here with a service animal.
