Great lunch spot. Staff is great, food is great and they are knowledgeable about dietary restrictions.
I’ve been eating here for years ! The wonton soup is my favorite! We got the sesame chicken and beef chow main today … no pix cuz we eatith everything quick ! Nomnomnom tai chi is slept on . Xoxo
Very unassuming little place. Excellant food!! They have a huge togo/delivery business! At the most, a half dozen tables are filled. But it's still a great place to dine in. Their food is very fresh and served sizzling hot.
I've never been to the restaurant itself but the food quality is excellent. I recommend using their website to order and they have their own drivers for 🚚 delivery
This place was right by where we stayed while visiting San Francisco. The food was great and we loved it. The people there were awesome as well. We had the Lemon Chicken which was delicious and the chow mein which was good too. Mushroom and tofu was ok but I am not really into tofu. Mother in law liked it though.
Best Chinese takeout in the city hands down. Huge portions, amazing flavors, and tender meat. Really can’t go wrong here. My go to is General Tsos, chow mein, and crab Rangoon (sooo crispy). Usually feeds me and my GF for 2 meals!
I just love this place, I place order online and pick up and it's always ready quickly and with a big smile and thank you from the nice hostess. My favorite is any of their fried rice dishes, especially House, but all soups are good too (to the guy who said fried rice portions are smaller -- must have been an off night, they did switch container types at one point but I just got a huge helping, we always have leftovers). Quality is always good, nice fresh bok choy in the Won Ton soup and meats are always cooked and seasoned well. You may have to order or ask for rice on side.
Great traditional food. Reasonably priced, but not a bargain. Friendly staff. Very casual atmosphere. Has never been busy on Friday evening when I often go which is a pro.
I get food from here about once a week and every single thing I’ve gotten is so good. The people here are friendly and most recently I got the orange chicken and it was amazing. Their noodles are also really good
Imagine my surprise to learn that Seattle doesn’t have the best Chinese food in the country… we ordered Gen Tsao’s chicken, sweet and sour pork, Hong Kong fried noodle with beef and Shu Mai. I realize that these are not dishes you’ll find in China, but for my Pallet they were amazing. Especially the chicken which was lightly breaded, but still very crisp… and the chicken itself was tender and moist. About as hard a balancing act as one can imagine and they pulled it off with ease. Highly recommend, and I am left depressed that in order to get good Chinese food I need to fly to SF.
Best Chinese food in San Francisco. We’ve been ordering from Tai Chi for over 20 years and it’s delicious. We love the General Tso chicken, schezwen beef and spicy basil chicken. Special fried rice with house made smoked beef is great too.
Those the place is very average in appearance. It’s food is exceptional. I would definitely come here again.
Vegans have multiple options here- I love their meatless orange chicken! And dry braised green beans with tofu...and snow peas with water chestnuts. And hot and sour soup special order with no meat/eggs. So yummy.
Is my first time ordering food on my way home it was ready on time. Chow mein was absolutely delicious. I will definitely try either items on the menu.
Curry been noodles were amazing! Also the owner gave me an almond cookie for autum festival.
I'm from Hong Kong and the food here is authentic and delicious! Singapore Style Noodles, Sesame Chicken, Potstickers are all good!!!
I can’t believe I have been living right across this restaurant for over a year and only now tried it. This unassuming restaurant is absolutely a hidden gem. The menu offers a variety of dishes and ever since we discovered it 3 days ago, we’ve been here 3 times already. I can’t wait to try all the dishes because so far, each one we have tried has been 10/10. In terms of service, they go above and beyond. The portions are generous, packed with meats and vegetables for amazing prices. My husband is Taiwanese and he’s in love. It will be very hard to keep us away from here.
This place was so amazing! The lady who took our order was so sweet and her customer service was A1 . Food is AMAZING!! Will be back soon !
What Tai Chi lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in delicious, flavor packed Chinese food. My new favorite casual Chinese restaurant serving some American favorites like their Sesame Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Their soups are so comforting. You can’t go wrong. The only thing I’ve had here (so far) that was not memorable were the potstickers. If you are looking for easy and dependable Chinese food Tai Chi is the place.
I would give them 10/10 for the customer service. We went for our dinner and did not even realize that the restaurant close at 9 pm and we reached by 8:55 pm. The lady who took our order was polite and kind. The ambiance seems to be dull may be because of closing time. But I enjoyed the food. We had ordered chow mien and sizzling shrimp. We planned to eat at a restaurant. But got it Togo
Just can’t beat these Lunch Specials for value & taste! $12-13, good portions, w/ rice, soup, and cheerful service It’s a no frills atmosphere with the typical pros & cons (e.g. casual comforts, people talking on their phones)
Loved the customer service! They also have dine in again after covid. The food is absolutely delicious and would definitely order from here again!!
This place is great. Best General Tsao's chicken I've had. The broccoli beef is nice too--very tender beef. To-go orders have always been ready on time. Generous portions.
Exceptionally good food. Specially the prawn fried rice and Crab Rangoon (crab cream cheese puff) were delicious. Don’t forget to ask for their hot sauce.

My friends first ate at this restaurant in 1985 and we have been going here until 1989 when all moved out in 1989. It was just a hole in the wall back then. We were in San Francisco today and I decided to order take out food - combination fried rice and general chicken. The food is as good back in the 80s and the big portion hasn’t changed! Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in city especially for the price!
Very tasty Kung Pao and Sesame chicken. The lady serving was also very kind and welcoming. Great service! The restaurant could do better with some decorations. I guess it’s true - the best Chinese food is usually served at the less well-looking places!
Neighborhood staple. My order is usually some mix of veggie lo mein, pork potstickers & egg rolls. The lady behind the counter is lovely- prompt & warm. Truly a great local spot.
Long time delivery order-er, first time dining in-er! The food is ALWAYS hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. And now we finally had the pleasure of experiencing their friendly staff in person! Can’t wait til our next Tai Chi meal!
Tai Chi is the best Chinese food delivery in the Russian Hill neighborhood. The food is great and the delivery is prompt. Check it out!

This place has been a staple in SF eatery for well over 20 plus years. It may not be the posh establishments like some others places in the city, but what it lacks in ambience, the taste and flavor of their dishes compensates for it. As in any restaurants, it's difficult to maintain the same level and standard, but somehow this little hole in the wall place manage to do that. If your are not certain what to order, I suggest you start with chicken corn soup, general tsao chicken, chicken chow mein, combo sizzling platter? And don't forget a hearty white rice to blend it all in. Enjoy, I'm sure your palate will be in agreement.
Most food was very good. Will go back again.
I ordered for two elderly friends who like Won Ton Soup and Beef & Broccoli. They loved the food and it made a special treat for them. The Won Ton Soup was particularly good. It had an excellent flavor even the next day. For those who can’t or won’t eat super spicy hot Chinese food, this is a good option. Delivery was flawless.
This is a solid Chinese restaurant. The food is fast and they give generous portions. The Beef Chow Fun is excellent. The Asparagus Chicken and Garlic Chicken are very good. They also do a good dim sum to order. The best are Shrimp Ha Kao, Shu Mai, and Shrimp Chive Dumpling.
Place needs more flavor or salt , fried ruce was flavorless , beef broccoli needed salt beef chow fun was plain only thing decent was the egg rolls .
One of the best Chinese food restaurants in San Francisco in my opinion. Just also pricey.
I’d always passed by this Chinese restaurant and finally decided to give it a try. When I walked in, I was greeted by a very kind older lady — she was super friendly and warm, really made me feel welcome. She even recommended a dish for me, and her kindness definitely stood out. The place itself wasn’t great — the atmosphere was simple, and honestly, it wasn’t very clean, with a few flies around. But the food was surprisingly good, flavorful and well-cooked. Overall, the food and her kindness were the highlights.
I visited this quiet little spot for lunch and I really enjoyed the crab Rangoons and the Bbq pork buns. The Rangoons were sweet, creamy, and crunchy. The pork buns were fluffy like a cloud and meaty in the center. Good Chinese Food and I would eat here again. However, I did think the bathroom was a little eh for a restaurant.

Great take out! Enjoyed the crab rangoon and potstickers the most! Minus 1 star due to unfortunate fortune cookies being extremely stale, unbreakable and rubber-like. Please fix fortune cookie issue. :)

Wouldn’t recommend ordering on grub hub. I left a nice tip and even then they showed up an hour late. Food was just luke warm. The crab cheese was good. The chicken and mushrooms was odd. Wasn’t a fan of the mushrooms but would possibly try something different next time and pick it up myself.
Ordered from uber eats after seeing the awesome reviews but the food wasn’t as great as everyone had mentioned unfortunately :/ the General Tao’s wasn’t flavorful, the bbq pork buns were all bun a maybe a penny size amount of pork.. Haven’t tried the soup yet, but I already know I paid too much lol
I got the kung pao chicken tonight and it was so so. Didn't really taste great and what's up with their chicken..... it's like fake chicken. Very skinny type ones and I didn't like it all. Give us real chicken. They put so many peanuts to take a lot of space. And the flavor was a bit bland. Haven't been here in awhile and safe to say I won't be coming back here anytime soon. McDonalds has even real chicken compared to this place. What a fraud.
The hotel doesn't care about me and the waiter doesn't care either.

DONT EAT HERE!! I never write reviews but I got the worst food poisoning of my life after eating here and threw up 3 times. Something is seriously wrong with their food handling
Not really sure where all of these good reviews came from. Maybe I ordered on the wrong day, but this was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. We ordered from GrubHub. The broccoli chicken was soggy and slimy (mostly fat) and the orange chicken was so overcooked that it was chewy. The only good part about this was the speedy delivery.
I’ve been a customer for years, and today I received the worst customer service experience ever from here, I simply called to order for delivery and was given pushback from the gate, first that they don’t take orders over the phone which I have been doing on their request for years now so that they don’t have to pay for delivery services and then that they don’t do deliveries. Which then I had to confirm I was calling the correct number, which they said yes, then was told to hold for a minute which turned into 10, then to my surprise now they were ready to take orders over the phone and do deliveries. Needless to say they have lost a long time customer
I came here when the restaurant was just opened, and came in to place a take out order. The Asian woman at the reception was rude as hell, she gave a nasty attitude the whole conversation, and showed clearly with annoyance. When I asked questions, not only she had trouble understanding, and also gave me multiple stinky eye looks. She’s clearly racist, because when my boyfriend who’s white spoke to her asking the same questions, she suddenly smiled and became very warm. I really hope she’s no longer working there, you will definitely lose customers with this kind of front desk.
