An Unforgettable Italian Experience in San Jose! Dining at Eataly San Jose was nothing short of spectacular! From the very first bite to the final sip, every detail was a celebration of authentic Italian flavor and hospitality. The food was absolutely phenomenal, fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality and passion behind each ingredient. A huge shoutout to Benjamin, who delivered top-tier service. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine passion for his work elevated the entire experience. He didn’t just serve us, he guided us through the menu, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured every moment was perfect. The General Manager, Andres, was simply outstanding. He went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that guests felt welcomed and valued. His leadership clearly reflects in the seamless, energetic atmosphere of the restaurant. And then there was Enzo, truly the cherry on top! He brought that final, authentic Italian touch that made the evening feel warm, lively, and unforgettable. If you’re in San Jose and looking for an exceptional dining experience with impeccable service, Eataly is the place to go. This wasn’t just dinner, it was an experience. We’ll absolutely be back! 🇮🇹✨
I love this restaurant and have been coming to this location and many across the country for a while. They are very consistent and always treat you as a special guest. They preparation of the food is always perfect. Servers are diligently about their service. I always enjoy my time here.
Excellent food, excellent service! When my fiancee's sister accidentally spilled her cocktail, the manager replaced it himself, free of charge. Everyone should come here at least once when you're visiting Westfield.
This review is for the pizza making class. Specifically Manuel was our server. He was attentive and very accommodating. Chef Salvo was trying to give personal attention to all his students so I missed a few instructions. Manuel was obviously knowledgeable so he helped me out and got me back on track. Overall, I enjoyed every minute of the lessons and my pizza was pretty tasty too.
Our server Ashley was super accomodating and kind. It was a night out for my sister and I and she just brought such a fun vibe to our table that made the experience ten times better. She also made some really good food reccomendations, we will only order those items when we come back!
La Pizza & La Pasta is located on the third floor of Eataly, just off of their main grocery area. It is an extremely popular place for families, with a large dining area and some high top/bar seating. Note- because of the children and size of the restaurant, it can get extremely busy and loud so if that’s not what you’re looking for you may want to look elsewhere. That said, the food is absolutely fantastic. Highly would recommend making a reservation, although they do accept walk-ins, but you may be waiting for upwards of an hour. Maria was our waitress who was absolutely exceptional (thank you for making it such a wonderful experience!). To start, we got the fried calamari and zucchini with lemon and aïoli, which was great. The zucchini did get a little soggy by nature, but it was still delicious. Additionally we got one of their focaccia loaves which is topped with flaky sea salt and accompanied by amazing olive oil. Great for sharing (or not). We opted for pasta during our dinner, which is fantastic since they have both a fresh pasta section as well as Italian-imported dry pasta available. The maltaglaiti alla norcina was great, with the fresh spinach sheet pasta that is easily ripped. Topped with sausage, mushroom, and truffle butter, it’s a decadent dish. The tagliatelle al ragú toscano was a large portion of fresh pasta with pork and beef sauce, roasted squash, fried rosemary and white truffle (this is a MEAT sauce despite how it’s written). For a classic, the tagliatelle alla bolognese is a great dish. The lasagna Emiliana was great but a smaller portion than the heaping fresh pastas of the other dishes, but classic and delicious. Wines are a plenty and great selection since they’re pulling from their extensive Italian wine shop downstairs. Great food worth the loud environment, just know what you’re getting in to.
Wonderful service. Server was helpful in ordering and explaining the dishes. Good ambiance and dishes came fast. White truffle pasta was do flavorful. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. The pizza crust was delicious and the toppings - finnochia salami, mushroom, basil, and mozzarella cheese were well balanced. I also like how it's open quite late
Benjamin was the best server I’ve ever had in my entire life. He was relatable, funny and very charming would recommend to anyone. He made my friend’s birthday the best birthday of all time he was cooking pasta at the table. He was going crazy thanks for the great experience Benjamin will come again. Food was good too.
This was my first time coming here with my girlfriend and I can say the restaurant exceeded my expectations. We wanted to try this spot for their pre fixe menu & it was worth the price. Food was amazing. Service was quick and staff were attentive, especially when the restaurant became busy. Environment can be loud at times and is kid-friendly. Overall, I would come back here again if I want a full Italian experience. Highly recommend getting their focaccia along with any of their pastas as they were cooked to al dente 😍
My sisters and I took the pizza cooking class and it was a very memorable experience. I had never made pizza before and the chef was very patient and kind with all of us. Our server Manuel was amazing as well, very attentive and helpful. We stayed after for some dessert and Manuel was personable and gave us some delicious options. Overall a great experience. We definitely plan on making another trip for the pasta cooking class!
Manuel was great! Excellent drinks and service! We had the Aperol Spritz drinks and the food was amazing!
Our server Rumi was amazing. Kind. sweet and professional. She was very generous with the parmigiano in the pasta, which I really appreciated! Highly recommend!

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance! Our server Rumi was very courteous, attentive, and kind to us!
Manuel was just amazing. He took the time to explain the menu to us as we were new to coming to the restaurant. Also, recommended some food that would pair nice with certain drinks.
Food was very good, the meatball appetizer is very good, pizza Margherita, need more mozzarella cheese, the pasta made in the Parmesan wheel unfortunately was cold and made different than other places ( no flame, here) The server was very good, answered all ours questions and also changed our order after he already placed the order to the kitchen. Also he explained the system of the restaurant and what was out of stock. The atmosphere is nice clean decor and comfortable.
The authenticity of the food here is quite impressive and the rooftop seating on a warm sunny day is one to experience. Wood fire pizzas had the perfect crunch to them and the pasta was a little too saucy, but still delicious. It has a great balance of food and drink (including wine) items, nothing that’s too overwhelming. Our server, Paris, was amazing and we can’t wait to come back soon.

Difficult to locate the restaurant, ambiance was fine. Our waiter took our order, but someone else brought out our food for a table of 8, and didn't know who had what and asked us to pass the food …
Pizza was enough good but far away from the best italian standard and too expensive. Also in a real italian restaurant should not be cut in slices. Service was acceptable but quite oppressive. Ambient very nice.
I got a pasta dish. It was good but was cold too quickly. Services was good. My meal came out when we were served our appetizer. My partner’s meal was out a good bit later, which didn’t help with eating a hot pasta dish. Overall, nice, but not great.
EDIT 10/23/25: We went back to La Pizza & La Pasta on 10/2 after getting a personal invitation back from Robert, the restaurant manager. The experience was a night and day difference, with excellent food and great service. We tried both tried seasonal specialty dishes from the menu (highlighted items on menu), at our server's recommendation and were not disappointed. We really enjoyed the food and will likely come back again to try their pizza. Original review from 9/10: Went to this place once before and thought it was OK but overpriced for what you get... We went back tonight for the Taste of Napoli prix-fixe menu...... I had made a reservation for dinner specifically for this special menu (it asks when making the reservation). Waiter comes and asks if we're ready and we told him we wanted to do that prix-fixe menu and went ahead and ordered "small bites" from the menu while making our choices of antipasti and pasta. Waiter comes back and takes our order. He then says they don't have the one (most popular) pasta I was going to order (despite them specifically taking reservations for this "special event"!)... This should have been stated when they pulled up our reservation or when the waiter first seated us. Our first appetizer and one antipasti are brought out while we are still waiting on drinks. Our drinks finally show up along with the other food, minus one more appetizer. Our water ran low and despite visiting the tables less than a foot away from our table and refilling their water, our waiter didn't bother to refill ours until we were almost done with our meal. The pasta I swapped to from the special Napoli prix-fixe menu was brought out and it was basically an undercooked spaghetti that an amateur cook could have done better at, with barely enough sauce on it, and no cheese was offered even though we saw fresh ground cheese offered to other customers. I asked one of the staff for cheese and they brought it over. Meanwhile.... Between courses, our waiter had taken away our silverware and said he'd bring over more.... Our pasta dishes were brought out and we were still missing silverware! We got it only after I flagged him down to bring it over. The after we finished, we tried to order a special Gelato dessert advertised at every table on a small card.... We were told that they were out of it and the waiter walked away. He came back and I asked if they were out of all the Gelato or just that one... He told us that they weren't actually out of it, but that it's made to order and nobody on shift knew how to do it..... After our meal we went to the Gelato bar on the first floor and they had a wide selection of Gelato other INCLUDING the one that the restaurant didn't have! The "Taste of Napoli" experience is a total dud when they're our of items and what they do have is sub par, there's not actually even really any entree options in the selection (except the one they were out of) and the service was absolutely terrible. Will not be coming back here again. With so much good food available in the bay area this is not a place worth wasting money on. (I want to point out further that the waiter specifically left us a card with a QR code asking us to leave a review!)
A disaster of a meal from start to finish. I won't bore you with the details - I'm sending those to corporate. But save your time and money and seek out a real restaurant where the owners understan…
I went here with high hopes since it is inside of Eataly which is a great Italian grocery store/market. However the food was overpriced for the amount and quality you get. Before the food arrived I…

$24 + tax + tip for dry sauceless plain testing butternut squash walnut ravioli. The walnuts? 3 pieces sprinkled on. The butternut squash filling was decent but would’ve been better if they weren’t such misers about it. Why there was no outer sauce is beyond me. No additional salt/pepper/cheese offered for additional garnish. Portion size? Don’t even get me started, I’m not a big eater but what is essentially an expensive singular dish, to only get like 8 pieces of the thinnest ravioli was an absolute joke. It also did not taste fresh, rather as if it was poorly reheated with a microwave as it did seem cold in some parts. Also kept getting pushed to get more food on a very overpriced menu for a casual restaurant. No bread or anything for the table… but it’s available for an additional $10 :/. Save your money and go to Olive Garden, this is terrible pasta. Will not go back.
High end prices for mediocre food and terrible service . Salad $17 + pizza $22+ pasta $29.50 + tax+ tip =$100. Pizza 3.5 / 5 - Margherita was just ok. crust was burnt - not crispy as mentioned in other reviews. (See pic ) Spaghetti Bolognese 1/5 - pasta was fresh but sauce was lacking umami / tomato flavor not enough sauce - dry. I was expecting something refined and elegant for $29.50. They totally missed the mark. Caesar salad: 1/5 The romaine lettuce did not taste fresh. Upon closer inspection, Leafs stalk ends were brown . .had to return it . (See pic ) Caesar sauce was bland - it was missing the base component of Worcestershire. Like non-existent. Server recommended arugula salad instead - which was not that much better. Service : 0/5 Server was not attentive. I noticed that the couple seated next to us was waiting for a long time for their bill. Server completely forgot the order for mimosas and at the end he just took it off. No explanation no apologies. I saw him briefly bro hugging a friend having a good time. Not professional Final verdict 1/5 Monday 3:00 p.m. July 28. The restaurant was not at full capacity. I just didn't understand why the service was so bad. You could see some five star reviews here and then you see a good number of one star reviews that contradict the five stars. Something really odd is going on with this restaurant here, but one thing is for sure they're lacking the consistency that everyone says that they have because my experience was definitely not five star. If you've managed to get all the way down to the bottom of this review and wondering where to eat at Valley Fair, I suggest eating at ramen nagi there's a reason why there's a long line there. Consistent high quality food / service .
