This place is a treasure and the food is quality and its fairly priced. The daily specials are the most economical choice. Get the hot mustard it is homemade and excellent. THE ONLY negative and warning when ordering to-go is to CHECK YOUR ORDER before you leave as our orders were missing egg rolls, mustard and other items we requested and paid for. They need to work on that it’s maddening!

Dropped in for a quick lunch while vacationing in Palm Springs, CA. The placed was packed with a lot of hungry folk! Food tasted excellent with some hint of authenticity. Prices are reasonable and the quantities were large. Glad we found this place pretty close to where we were staying.

One of the better Chinese food places in the coachella valley. We ordered takeout and it was what I expected and more. Great taste for Chinese but isn't the best of the best. Aside from that, I prefer it over 90% of the Chinese food in the valley. The service is excellent and fast. The actual restaurant could do with some interior redecorating. Nevertheless, give this place a try if you are in the mood for Chinese food.

Decent, average food. Noodles were plain and flavorless. Sesame chicken was okay but it had too much sauce which I suspect was packed with sugar because I crashed shortly after the meal.

It's just an okay Chinese American spot. Their shrimp Lo Mein were thin, spaghetti-like noodles, a bit starchy, without much flavor, and absolute zero wok hei. It looked and tasted as if it was steamed, not cooked in a fiery wok. Plus no green onions, regular onions, or even cabbage, and a dismal amount of bean sprouts. I was kind of taken aback. And where's the garlic? Ginger anyone? Their fried rice was completely tasteless as well, no seasoning or MSG. The egg roll was a bought, frozen product, which was lukewarm (like it had been fried a couple of hours or so before it was served). But worst of all, the filling was pasty inside and totally bland. There is no egg drop or hot and sour soup included in their lunch special, only iced tea or soda. We stopped by this place during the high of the pandemic twice, and really liked it, but now they need to step up their game in the kitchen, big time. I wouldn't recommend it as is, but l'll probably give it another try in a couple of months and hopefully update this review.

Ordered this place to try a new Asian spot, the generals chicken tasted burnt, almost like charcoal. The sauce was super bland, brocolli was completely raw, not even steamed, & the fried rice had zero flavor, also showed up cold. Delivery was only 10 minutes. 2/10

I took my client for lunch, it was lunch hour full and restaurant looked dirty. Uniforms looked like they haven't been washed in weeks. Food was okay nothing to write home about, I took two bites of my dish and sent it back. They over load the plates with too rice make it look like your getting a lot of food. Service was was good till I asked for the check. No breakdown on the check. I noticed they changed me for my meal. Here is what really didn't like, she looked at me in the face and told me I ate have of my dish. Nothing pisses me off more when she looked at you in the face and smiles. Knowing she lying.... VERY poor all around!

Ordered from here a few times but definitely not again!! teriyaki beef appetizer was as dry as jerky, hot and sour soup was basically egg drop with a piece of tofu. Orange chicken was disgusting (partner ordered last time and opted for panda express this time). I basically took 2 bites of each thing and threw my entire order in the trash!!

I don’t even know where to begin with the disappointment from tonight’s dinner at China 8. The experience left me nearly speechless. It seems the chef took some serious liberties with traditional dishes, and the results were underwhelming at best. Take the chicken teriyaki, for instance. The photo attached reveals a dish where more than half the ingredients, particularly the onion and the teriyaki sauce, missed the mark entirely. It didn’t taste like teriyaki at all, and I’m still left with an unpleasant onion flavor lingering in my mouth after an hour at home. As for the barbecue pork, the chef also went off-script. It was extremely chewy and far from enjoyable. I had heard that this place was the best Chinese option around, but if this is what they serve, I can’t agree. Additionally, the ambience felt more like a rundown diner than a dining establishment, which added to the overall disappointment. The staff also lacked friendliness and attentiveness; it felt like we were an afterthought rather than valued customers. Overall, my expectations were dashed, and I can confidently say that the food is not worth the money. I won’t be returning to China 8. Save your time and money for better options!
