This place is really good! It was my first time. I ordered the Res/Beef soup. Very delicious, a huge serving, plenty of beef, veggies and potatoes. And the horchata was very good too. Staff is very friendly.

This is one of the taco places that we visit which is close to where we stay and also it is on the way to my daughter’s school. It is located in a good prime location and the tacos here super tasty. Would definitely recommend shrimp tacos, veggie tacos and also shrimp fajitas which is the best on their menu!! Staff is super super friendly. A regulat eatery that we visit and will keep visiting!! ☺️☺️

Mr Tacos 2 here in San Marcos is a definite must. The entire menu, from the tortas to carne asada nachos to the half order Charger, is consistently delicious!! the dishes seasoned so well and the portions sizes generous! The place feels, and probably is, family owned and operated and it makes such a difference. The people behind the counter are friendly, kind, personable and warm--a true neighborhood classic. they're not open too late but that's okay because that way the food and the service stays fresh and inviting. So if you live anywhere within walking distance of this place, run don't walk to Mr Tacos 2, the heartiest taco shop and Mexican food around!!

This restaraunt has it all down!! Im am an original location long time customer. Their Breakfast burrito is super good. But what surprized me was their Campechana/Shrimp-Octapus Cocktail, theirs is pretty damn good. Also their Self Serve Sida Fountain is great. It's Deffinetly going to be my spot now.

My absolute FAVORITE mexican food restaurant, ever. Their carne asada & pollo asado meat is sooo good, im very very picky with my meat. Carne Asada burrito, tostada supreme pollo asado or tj style tacos are my go to. There red salsa i can literally drink (probably grose lol) but its that good. The best salsa i ever had. NEWAYS been coming here for years, i needed to do a review.

It's not any one specific thing that Mr. Taco does that makes his carne asada taco so good, it's a combination of everything. Having a delicious charred crust on their very tender marinated chopped strips of steak helps. On the "Asada Street Taco," the onions and cilantro are layered on top in a harmonious ratio, and the zippy salsa verde they throw on this before they serve it to you is one of the tastiest salsas you'll find. Is the meat prepared over an open-flame grill and mesquite coals? No. This is our San Diego-style carne asada. The "Crispy Potato Taco" is a straightforward deep-fried taco dorado stuffed with mashed potatoes seemingly seasoned only with salt. Mr. Taco's salsa bar is solid, and this taco is a good blank canvas to sample the various salsas frescas available. That said, you can get this taco pretty much anywhere, so avoid ordering it here and get more carne asada instead.

Tried for the first time and was not disappointed! I ordered the veggie burrito without cheese and was on point. The condiments bar was plentiful and quality was fresh! Not to mention it was a lunch period when I visited this store and it was pack. Great place to order Mexican food for sure!

UPDATE: Came back, ordered California burritos, Carne Asada and Al Pastor. Soooo good!! Huge and delicious. I’ve forgotten all about the chilaquiles and changed my rating from 4-5 stars! Don’t be a pendejo! Read this!! Great tacos, bad chilaquiles, baaadddd! They came with scrambled eggs not sunny side up! Who ever heard of that? They sauce was a tasteless “enchilada” sauce, no cojita cheese, no cilantro, nothings fresh. Huge disappointment! The beans were good. They should dump it from the menu. Having said that, the restaurant is called “Mr. Taco” not “Mr. Chilaquiles”! So, the Al Pastor and Carne Asada are excellent! Great corn tortillas, fresh toppings, good price. These tacos are as good or better than anything you will find anywhere! When getting the salsa, the one of the far right (red) is the best and it actually has some bite! The green and tomatillo salsa are also good. The breakfast burrito was big and beautiful! Very filling for the price. Clean place, nice people. We will return and just focus on the tacos. PS, I hope you realize these are real Mexican tacos, not that crunchy American junk food stuff!

Food is good...lots of options! The tortilla soup and it's pretty large, just a bit salty but good. The grilled fish taco was tasty. The Carne Asada burrito was good, smaller than expected but still filling! Salsas good 👍

Really a bummer they got rid of the salsa bar. That was the best part. Now they charge for each salsa. Asada could use more marinade. But still a solid spot you can count on

Decent tacos. Very filling with lots of meat. Shredded beef taco and carne asada taco were the best out of the bunch I have got. Shrimp and al pastor tacos were just ok. The shrimp wasn't the freshest and a bit overcooked. Al pastor would benefit from a bit more spice. Good service and location though!

Giving them a 2 star review not because of the food but because of how cheap they are with their salsa. The salsa comes in a little container and they only give you 2 for a gigantic burrito. Asked for 2 more and told i would have to pay. It is unacceptable to charge for salsa. I am writing this review in hopes that they are reading this and they’re going to fix this. If they don’t fix it, I am not going there ever again. I don’t care how good the food is.. I am not paying for salsa. Some other people also complain about the same thing and they’re not taking any action to fix it. Fix this!!
