Basic Bar Pizza

We love PizzaBar! We're picky about pizza and love the crisp thin crust. Our favorites are the PB Supreme and the Pesto Mushroom, which is perfect if you don't tolerate a lot of cheese. The salads are all large and delicious and the selections of on tap beer and wine just top if all off along with impeccable service from a friendly staff and owner! Highly recommend!

Pizza Bar is serving up some delicious pizza, sandwiches, wings and tasty salads. A fantastic beer tap list and the service is always good. Definitely a staple for the community of San Marcos, and some of the best pizza around. Get a whole pie or just a slice!

The pizza by the slice is terrific. Great ingredients- the quality is so discernable. Staff was outgoing and friendly.

Really recommend this place. I've been coming here for a while, but it is my first time leaving a review. I came in with my 3 monkeys (kids) who are all picky and they loved it. It's not your typical doughy pizza!

Pesto mushroom and bbq chicken pizza. Not many places offer a mushroom pizza and Pizza Bar’s is so freaking good. The BBQ chicken is delish too. Definitely stop by if you are looking for some good pizza.

Holy cow, I couldn’t believe my luck when I discovered this place. Not only did they absolutely nail it on their hand tossed New York style pizza crusts, the toppings were incredible, and not at all greasy. If you want an an amazing, authentic pizza, this is the place. What’s even better is their happy hour specials. $3 slices and half-priced appetizers.This place is all around amazing. I absolutely recommend it.

This place is the best. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the servers work their butts off. It's packed on Wednesday for trivia night, and they still get everything out fresh and fast. Zach the bartender dude is awesome - the others are great too - but he's a rock star, even though he spells his name wrong.

This place is honestly my favorite place since moving out here for college. My friends and I come by every week without fail. The staff are always so kind and accommodating. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty. The pizza has such a nice thin crunch with a powerful punch of flavor. It’s such a nice spot to share laughs and eat some quality pizza :)

This place whoops Flippin' Pizza's ass. Prices are what you would expect from a quality pizza joint. The staff is always friendly, the service is always top notch, the food is fantastic, and the beer selection is money. Add a dollop of trivia on Wednesday, and a bunch of huge TVs, and it's not a bad place to kill a couple of hours. Only questionable item on the menu is the bread. The sticks / knots / whatever are just cut up crust... and it's nothing to write home about The rest of the menu, especially the wings, is phenomenal. Update : it's still awesome. If you don't like pizza bar I'm punching you in the junk.

Food was amazing, ordered the Mexican pizza and the torstatos. Both were fantastic.The service was also great,waiters were always checking in on us and were very kind.Atmosphere was great, a lot of people there. Everybody was watching the sports games on the tv.The room would cheer when the team scored a touchdown.

Best pizza place I’ve had in North county! I wish I had discovered it sooner. I think I end up getting it about at least about once a month now. Flat, very close to Ny style, crispy pizza with tons of flavor and very affordable per slice or even for a whole pizza. The closet pizza that reminds me of being back in the north east. I highly recommend the hot honey pepperoni pizza. I usually sit by the bar with my GF and we both typically enjoy a slice or 2 with a beer and side of wings, of which, is also delicious and I’m typically a little picky about my wings. They have quite a variety of local craft brews available. I tend to like burgeons Treevana. Parking is fairly accessible but there are other establishments around so the lot can get a little full depending on what day of the week and time of day. Staff is mostly younger; assuming primarily local college students. They are all extremely friendly, quick to service, and very accommodating. The place is a little smaller and usually filled with family’s and some little ones, although the place tends to clear out almost as fast as it fills up. All in all this is definitely a 5/5 place for me. -Delicious -Friendly staff -Nice atmosphere -Affordable -Has good Beer Selection -Fit for all ages/Family friendly -and my favorite. Good place for the locals/Close to home.

Wings tasted and looked like they sat out for the whole day before I received them (I ordered online and showed up at the recommended time). I mean for what i paid, I expected a higher quality of freshness. Parm breadsticks were 1/10, just wouldn't recommend in general. The pizza is the only redeeming factor. My brief service was awful, front cashier was having a joking conversation with other coworkers and didnt realize I had a gift card instead of credit. When service can't even make eye contact, or focus on a transaction while forgetting my wings with my order, I remember why I dont tip in advance. Edit* The owner reached out to fix the issue which I personally appreciate. For being a small buisness, they serve their community with honesty and integrity. That alone upgrades my original review to a 5. If you're in town for pizza, its a great place (their pizza will never be a critism of mine)

Really liked the pizza. Very generous with the toppings. Crust was nice and thin, though could be a touch crisper for my taste. Only 2 minor negatives... The toppings could have been a bit more evenly distributed, and I think the meatballs should not be saltier than bacon. Otherwise, very solid pizza place.

The name says it all. The staff are great, and we love, as we are older, going in there and seeing folks our age enjoying a slice, having a beer, and hearing our era of music. Thank you pizza bar for creating an enjoyable atmosphere

Great atmosphere. Great selection of beer on tap. All of the employees were very nice and attentive. We decided to get a variety of pizza to try the different flavors. The pizza was just okay.

The pizza here is delicious, and I’ll definitely keep coming back! The young girls working the front are so sweet—they’re always smiling, and you can tell they’re focused on getting the job done. They did accidentally mix up our order, but they apologized and fixed it right away. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how they handle it, and they did so with kindness, not frustration. Definitely worth checking out!

Decent pizza, much better if you eat there than take it to go. Modern restaurant with a decent beer selection and some good food options other than pizza. I recommend the margarita pizza and the buratta salad.

I really wanted to like this place and make it a regular stop. The service and people are great but the pizza is just mediocre at best. It reminds me of cafeteria style quality. The location, vibe and people have been enough to make me come back on occasion. If the pizza could just improve, it would be a fantastic spot.

Honestly the best place to go eat and have a drink. Theres a bartender who would always brighten up my day. She would always check in and see if I needed more water or a refill. She would start up a conversation whenever she was free that would make me and my friends feel welcomed. She would always attend us whenever she had the chance; by this I mean whenever she wasn’t busy attending other customers. She made us feel important. She made us feel welcomed. We tipped her and found her name was Crystal. We haven’t seen Crystal. We miss how welcomed crystal made us feel. We miss the environment and atmosphere Crystal gave out. The pizza bar is simply not the same. We will be checking in but the pizza bar doesn't have the same vibe as it did before. Crystal if you see this, we hope you go onto great adventures, we hope you succeed and give the world the best. We know that you will do whats best for you. We won’t be purchasing anything from pizza bar as of today. The environment isn't the same. Whoever is in charge should know.

I really wanted to love this place. I had heard it was great. We ordered 4 different kinds of pizza by the slice, warmed to order, and the chopped salad. The place itself is wonderful. Laid out well, clean and nice high ceilings and a well placed bar that doesn't take up the whole room. Staff were mostly local college kids, and they did a great job. Knowledgeable and attentive. The salad was fresh and crisp, but largely flavorless, with even a hint of a chemical taste from the artichoke hearts. The fountain drinks were a tad watered down. We did not try the bar, but patrons seemed happy. The main entre, the pizza of course, was lacking. The descriptions were amazing, and if you like a very thin crispy pizza, which I do, it is tops in terms of that. However, and perhaps it was just old, but all varieties we tried were dessicated, dried out, overcooked and without flavor. Total disappointment. Perhaps cooked fresh would have been better, but these slices were horrible. Still gave 2 stars because the crust was thin and crispy. I wish I could recommend it, but I will not be going back.

It was a HOT, humid day in San Marcos (91 degrees), and we were looking forward to escaping the heat at this new place we saw off the road….. sounded like a good idea to have an ice cold beer and pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza was decent and they have a great beer selection, BUT their AC was off. With a pizza oven open to the dining area, it would be nice to have the AC on so that the customers could enjoy their dining experience sweat free. We may try this place again, but if they’re not willing to sacrifice a little bump on their energy bill on a hot day to keep customers coming back to dine in, not sure how often we’ll be back. Best of luck….

My husband and I came here for a drink. We went straight to the bar (no one greeted us). After waiting at the bar for 10-15mins we realized the server behind us was our bartender. She was socializing with ppl behind us. A staff member, who was sitting right next to us and clearly clocked out, called her over and recommend that she greeted us (after all it’s been 10-15mins). She came up and said what can I get you to drink? No apology for the wait. We asked for a beer and a glass of wine. She gave us our drinks and that was the last we heard of her. My husband wanted another drink and we had to go to the front and ask for a 2nd beer. Fast forward, we tried to check out but our server/bartender was trying to sweep the floor and we went to the front again to ask for the check. While I was checking out, she somehow appeared to make sure she checked us out to claim her tip. Our server/bartenders name is Crystal. She seemed like she hated being there and did not care for us at all. Though this place has a cool bar and nice wine selections, we will not be returning due to poor customer service from Crystal. Kudos to the staff members sitting next to us and the curly hair lady working the front.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza tonite...asked for and paid for extra pepperoni and cheese..Well that didn't happen...worst pizza EVER! Hard as a rock...no cheese that we could detect..no sauce...pepperoni tasetless!!! Seems like this dried up pizza was under a heat lamp then popped onto yhe oven to reheat before we picked it up!! Terrible...where was the hot stretchy gooey cheese?????? Nope ! Won't order again! Waste of $40!!!

Pizza was pretty disappointing—bland, weird cheese texture, crust was soggy—soggy thin crust—sad to get soggy thin crust pizza. The bread sticks were all sorts of wrong. They were like bricks. I’ve never experienced breadsticks that weighed as much as a gold bouillon. Not sure if the recipe called for a flour and cement mixture? Sadly I had to discard the pizza and breadsticks after a few bites as they were that unappetizing. Major pass on this place.
