Opinions de Pacific Diner San Pedro
Julie was our server and was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Food was so delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We’ll absolutely be coming back and highly recommend this diner for anyone looking for wonderful food and service!
This diner is such a cute little gem! Great service, clean, and great food!!!
I was pleasantly surprised by how fabulous this hidden gem was! The service was great. The waitress (I think her name was Vicky) was very nice. She was excited to know that it was my first visit to Pacific diner. I had the turkey eater on sour dough and it was amazing!!! I stayed for another cup of coffee after I paid the bill, was not rushed to vacate my seat like most breakfast places. I'm definitely going back again!
I did enjoy a breakfast with my coworker , our server was very attentive and friendly . Food was very good and my coworker informed me of his regular visits. The P D has inside and outside dining areas, as we were seated in the patio and enjoyed the salt air this morning . It was a great , and look forward to my next visit.
The Pacific Diner is a San Pedro institution. It's hard to go and not meet somebody you know. It's not a fancy place, which is really nice sometimes. The menu is extensive and the food is always good. Parking can be a challenge, but that's a testament to how good the place is.
Five Stars. Old School Good. They have parking too.
If you like gravy with breakfast and friendly people, Pull up. Love this place. It never lets me down. Home style American food is the best way to describe this lovely little place. Gotta check those biscuits and gravy out when you stop by.
Long time since the last visit. Great place but small parking because it is a small dinner. I had hot roast beef on bread smothered in gravy with creamy mashed potatoes. It was just what I wanted.
I guess last time my review didn't get saved. I think this is an update. The service was great. Food was really good this time too. I ordered the veggie omelette with potatoes and biscuits with gravy. I stopped when I got satisfied and the leftovers I brought home as a meal for someone who didn't go. It was more than plenty for him. We got lucky with a parking spot because the lot is so small. Portions are great. Pricing is pretty good for the amount of food you get.
Wonderful breakfast menu with amazing options. Our servers were excellent! The outdoor patio seating was spacious and very clean.
Always love this place! A little charm is gone now with new tables and chairs. Didn't need to fix what wasn't broken but new owners needed to put their stamp on it. Food still great.
Great local spot for any meal. Homemade salsa is great and the home fries are the best around.
Food was great we had avocado & crab omelet. Sarai provided great service. The cramped seating & parking were minor drawbacks. We will dine there again.
Big plates of delicious breakfast items of all kinds! Omlettes, pancakes, waffles (so crisp and tender inside) sandwiches, chicken fried steak and daily specials. Good prices and good service. Very casual and family/kids friendly. Back covered patio. Parking can be difficult and is free but limited. Street parking and free but you may need to walk a block. This location is a local favorite and lots of people know each other. You will see people greeting each other and hugging. Kids in strollers as well as the occasional family dog sitting politely on the floor. Limited counter seating and 2 booths.
Food is good, service staff is great!
First time at this place. I guess I never made it there because they are so far down pacific. Had the chicken cutlet and biscuits and gravy. Delicious crispy cutlet in gravy. Their menu has a ton of stuff, eager to try the rest. My wife had a beef stroganoff omelette, she said it was excellent.
Good food for a good price. The "John Wayne" special was extremely good, eggs and potatoes absolutely covered in a delicious Spanish Sauce, and the biscuits and gravy were stupid good. Slightly sweet biscuits that are baked through but still just a tiny bit doughy, covered in a rich and smokey flavoured gravy. This place was awesome and I would eat there again.
My parents would take me here all the time as a kid. Been awhile since I’ve been here so I ordered one of my favorites: The John Wayne Special! I love the fact this place hasn’t changed despite being around for over 30 years. If you’re looking for a classic mom and pop restaurant with great quality food at an affordable price, then this is the spot you gotta try!
A nice little place at the South End of San Pedro. Great for breakfast or lunch. Fantastic service.
Pacific Diner is known for its good food and food atmosphere. The staff is polite and friendly. Great experience.
This is a classic establishment for San Pedro, California. The menu is chocked full of great omelette selections. If you love your breakfast "spicy" - you will enjoy the variety of sauces, salsas, and egg combos here! Great for larger parties (like getting together with friends). They even sang one of our guests Happy Birthday when they brought out her breakfast dish!
Great breakfast place in Pedro! Marinated steak tips and eggs, lovely. Potatoes with gravy is sooo good, sausage and eggs is lovely. You know how some places the food is bland, disappointing? Everything I have had here was tasty and delicious, they clearly care about making good food.
There is a large garden at the entrance, there are large areas where you can sit comfortably. The staff and the owner are very friendly and attentive. We ate meat here and really liked its taste. Eggs and potato products are also very good. You should come here with your family and loved ones and have breakfast.
This place is one of my favorite breakfast spots in the entire South Bay. Been coming here since 2010. The service is always on point with the amazing and nice people who work here and the food is also delicious. I always go between the Machaca and the Acapulco omelette, and occasionally the club sandwich and each one of these dishes is always consistent and delicious. Come here with my parents about once a month for morning breakfast and they love this place too. It’s not fancy by any means and that’s what I love about it too- a locals spot that cares for the community and feeds them too. It’s even dog friendly so sometimes I bring my dog to sit outside with us and they have heaters too for those colder days when sitting outside.
Great place to eat with your family!
All the food at Pacific Diner is delicious. I go here almost for breakfast. Among all the food, my favorite is the chicken fried steak with eggs for breakfast. The food was amazing. In my opinion, I would recommended Pacific Diner to those who want fresh, quality food with a good atmosphere.
Very nice restaurant. Food is tasty and quality. I really like their breakfast items, Steak n Egg and Beet Patty n 2 Egg. Staff is good. Suitable for bringing family.
If you are in San Pedro, you must try Pacific Diner. The food gives a very home style feel. The quantity is good, and the taste is also good. The staff is cheerful. I will come again.
I really like their restaurant. I went for dinner with my family. Among their food items, Mexican chicken was very delicious. We were impressed with their food and service. Our dinner was very nice.
Comparatively very good restaurant. Food is tasty, service is good and prices are reasonable. They regularly maintain the quality of their food, so you can come with confidence.
Pacific Diner is my favorite place. The breakfast and dinner items are very delicious. The restaurant environment is comfortable and clean. The staff's behavior is commendable.
We were a party of two and were able to sit in the front by the counter in one of the booths. We received water and coffee and both were kept filled. I ordered the Denver omlette with wheat toast. I have to say that it was very well put together and so tasty. I had to use the gender neutral restroom which was located in about the center of the building. I'm 6'5" and I felt like I was on about the floor as the toilet was so low. But I must say that it was a clean space. Thanks a lot for a very tasty brunch.
First time we have eaten here. Very popular place based on the crowd. The food was good. I had biscuits and gravy, Louisiana hot link three over easy eggs and breakfast potatoes. Delicious. My wife had the Denver omelette. It was also very good. We will be eating here again as we come to this area often. Pardon the partially eaten plates. We were hungry🤣 forgot to snap pics before digging in!
Amazing food and great staff. Love the atmosphere. The waitress working the counter today was unbelievably amazing. We thank you guys for a great breakfast.
Just tried breakfast today morning in Pacific Diner. I heard this is one of the best restaurant in San Pedro. Steak & Eggs, Chicken fried steak, Avocado Bacon Omelette are definitely mentionable. Amazing service and quiet atmosphere makes the food lucrative. Price was a great issue but must say it's pretty reasonable. Recommended for food lovers.
We visited one of the best restaurant in San Pedro Pacific Diner. We saw the menu first. Then ordered Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Fettuccine Alfredo. After sometime, staff came back with food. Looked so yummy and spicy. Most important the atmosphere of the restaurant. Must be remembered. It's recommended for food lovers.
Recently I have came San Pedro for my office work. One day I went out to hangout in San Pedro and went to Pacific Diner for Breakfast. I ordered New York Steak, Ribeye Steak Plate. The smell was just crazy. How I expected the food was more than my expectations. The food was fresh as well as tasty. The staff was amazing too. Atmosphere makes the food more interesting. Had a great experience. I will be returning here definitely.
The food was exactly what you want from a great breakfast place. The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the eggs cooked perfectly to order, and the crispy bacon had just the right balance of crunch and flavor. The hash browns were a standout -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Portions were generous without feeling overwhelming. Service was quick and attentive, and our coffee cups were never empty. Whether you're stopping by for a casual weekend brunch or a hearty weekday breakfast, this spot hits all the right notes.
The dining experience at Pacific Diner was really great. The clean and tidy environment is evident as soon as you enter the restaurant. The quality of the food is very good and the taste is absolutely perfect. Especially their breakfast items are very delicious. The staff are very polite and attentive to the customers. The service is fast so there is no time wasted. The price is also quite reasonable. This is a great place to spend quality time with family.
We had a group meeting in Pacific Diner. There were several dishes. Some appetizer with desert. Especially Ribeye Steak, Meatloaf with Brown Gravy and Buttermilk pancakes, Plain waffle. From the appetizers to desert everything was delicious. The service was quick and amazing.
Pacific Diner is always a reliable experience. Today I had the bacon, eggs and hash browns. The bacon was crispy, the eggs were cooked exactly as I asked. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff is very friendly, speaks like a local. The atmosphere is relaxed, great for a relaxing breakfast in the morning. If you want a good diner in San Pedro, Pacific Diner in definitely a good choice.
My daughter loves various types of omelettes. For trying purpose I visited with my daughter here. Denver omelette, Avocado Bacon Omelette were fantastic. My daughter loved having these. Hope coming back soon.
Super impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The team made us feel so welcome. Five stars all the way! Never feel hesitate to try out dinner at Pacific Diner. Most welcome.
Pacific Diner is a place like. The food was fresh and well cooked. The taste was very good, clean and homely. The staff service, food and atmosphere were all excellent, I liked this balance. Good value for money. I will come again if I have time.
This was easily one of the best breakfast spots I have ever been to! Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were plentiful. The staff was all super friendly and outgoing! If you are in the area you MUST stop here!
Food, service and atmosphere, all in all, Pacific Diner is very good. Every time I have a good experience here. The food tastes tasty and the quality is maintained. The staff serves food quickly and is friendly. It is a safe and comfortable place to come with family.
Pacific Diner is a really reliable and nice restaurant. As soon as you enter here, you will see a clean and comfortable environment. The food tastes very good and every item seems fresh. Especially the breakfast menu is quite enjoyable. The staff is very polite and provides fast service. We didn't have to wait long after placing our order. The quantity of food is sufficient compared to the price. Family, friends or alone, everyone can come with peace of mind. This is definitely a place to recommend for good food in the San Pedro area.
The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait long. This is a great place for those who love good food.
I went to San Pedro for a few days. I went to a restaurant called Pacific Diner by the sea, and I had a different feeling. I found the restaurant very unique. I didn't feel like I was new there. Their food was fresh and tasty. Every one of their dishes was of high quality. I had breakfast at Pacific Diner every day I spent there and sometimes lunch too. If I go to San Pedro in future, I will definitely come to Pacific Diner.
Pacific Diner is one of those places that you will come back to again and again. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, like a true old fashioned diner. The menu is full of favorites, and everything I ordered was fresh and well prepared. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast, and it was cooked just the way I liked it. The serving are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Pacific Diner is perfect for breakfast and brunch before you start your day. This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in San Pedro.
Exceptional hospitality, tasty food, and amazing environment! They take great care of their customers by offering them a highly peaceful dining environment. I loved their catering as well.
I have been to Pacific Diner several times, and every experience has been great. The food is served quickly and is always fresh. The menu has a variety of food items, so everyone can enjoy their meal. The restaurant has a calm and relaxed atmosphere. It is a great place to hang out with family or friends.
Their signature garlic fries are delicious. The tossed garlic, parmesan cheese, and ranch dressing enhance the fries experience. I loved the presentation, ambiance, and seating of their restaurant. You'll love this place too!
One of the best breakfast restaurants in San Pedro. This is not just a claim but an observation. I found this restaurant extremely great in the taste of food, Professionalism of their staff, and the environment they provide to their customers. Best experience for me!
In a word, It's amazing. The food here classic, fresh, hot, and served in large portions. I had breakfast here, everything tasted like home cooked food, especially the hash browns and pancakes. The staff is friendly and will make you feel at home even if it's your first time. A great place to start your morning in San Pedro with breakfast.
In short, this restaurant was amazing. The menu is huge, the classic American dishes were well prepared and the portions were generous, enough for everyone. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also very inviting. A great place to eat with the family and have a good time.
It was pleasure experience to visit this place to having dinner with friends. There are not so much noise, staff were very attentive and service was super quick. I am very satisfied with them by their friendly mannerism.
I stopped into Pacific Diner during y visit to San Pedro. The place has that laid-back, old-school diner vibe, and the people working there are welcoming. I really like the fact that their staff are very friendly. My food came out fast, portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and homemade and the breakfast plate was especially delicious. If you live in this area and want to eat quality food, you need to visit Pacific Diner at least once.
I highly recommend this resto breakfast all day. Food is oooh so good we loved it! The ambiance here is always inviting, so comfy and all staff are friendly. Our first time and definitely this is our go-to place the best in town. Pricing is fair and transparent & definitely value for money. Must be here!
It was the best breakfast I ever had. It was absolutely amazing. We ordered a lot, and we finished everything. I especially recommend this place to everyone. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Additionally, the owner came to our table, took care of us, and offered us complimentary items. Everything was perfect. I hope I can come back again.
It's a cool spot with limited parking. A local favorite in San Pedro. The menu is good for all day eating. We went for breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs my wife had an omelette both very good. I have never had lunch here. My only complaint is their prices. The same meal at my local spot is 10.00 less with larger servings.
My family visited Pacific Diner for breakfast before boarding our cruise ship. It looked like a cute little house converted into a diner with the closed in backyard serving as the main dining room. The food was good, but the coffee was great! I don't think the biscuits were homemade and they weren't fresh, but the white gravy seemed homemade and the flavor was acceptable. The hashbrowns we're thin round slices of cooked potato pressed together and fried slightly crispy. The bacon of course was good and so we're the eggs, not overcooked. The service was your average local diner service by beautiful diner waitresses...a few forgotten items and the check was incorrect, but they fixed it happily! All in All it's a great place to stop for a quick bite and experience local San Pedro vibe!
Good service. Food was above average. Country fried chicken is less bready but tasty. Biscuit and gravy was flaky and good Out door seating which was nice for the breeze. One issue is that outdoor is no pets, yet a couple brought thier dog in a little baby stroller into the area. They probably didn't see it
This place is awesome! Showed up on a Monday around 11am and the staff were so welcoming and full of energy and ready to take our order. Since there are six in our group we ordered a lot. Food was great mostly the service
I went to Pacific Diner for lunch and the experience was quite good. The place was clean and no too crowded, so I was able to rat in peace. The food tasted good, but some items could have been a little hotter. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. The prices were fairly reasonable. It would be better if they improved a few things. It's good for occasional visits even if you don't visit regularly.
Pacific Diner is a solid spot for a nice meal. The food tastes fresh and well-prepared, almost like something homemade. The place is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, a great choice for good food and service.
I enjoyed eating at Pacific Diner quite a bit. The quality and taste of the food was satisfactory. The environment was clean and nice. The staff was friendly, but the food took a while to arrive. The price is reasonable. It could be better with some minor improvement. Still, it is a good restaurant and I would recommend it.
This little diner was the right fit for our family this morning. We had just come from an event where one of our party participated in an ocean swim and it was only 3 minutes away by car. We checked and Google suggested it would have been an 11-minute walk if we had decided to walk from the beach parking. We did find a parking space in their lot just as someone was leaving. The two other vehicles in our party parked on nearby streets. This building has been added on to over the years I think and most of the seating area is in a modified patio so it was a bit toasty but the toast was good 😉. I feel like the meal was a pretty good value for today's dollar. They have an extensive list of omlets and the vegetarian omelette that I ordered was $17 and includes two sides. I chose white bread, toast and potatoes. One of the options as sides was biscuits and gravy or you can just order biscuits with butter and jam and I feel like biscuits and gravy is sort of a substantial item for a side, so that's a pretty good value. They do not have a children's menu, but they were very accommodating with recommendations on what item could be split between the two children in the party and that was a pretty good choice. They had a couple of pancakes and some eggs and bacon. They did have and we took advantage of a high chair and the atmosphere was such that we didn't feel like the kids were out of place or that our slightly soggy party member was out of place in the venue. The food was simple and satisfying. The atmosphere in the menu I would say are overall home-cooked meal on a family friend's patio, but that is the bright spot to me at this venue: how friendly and accommodating the staff were. They made suggestions, refilled coffee cups and made plenty of inquiries as to if we needed any additional items or sauces. It wasn't too crowded and in a lot of places around lunch time, you tend to feel pressured to leave with your party full of children on Sunday and I didn't feel that pressure here. It was a pleasant atmosphere for a meal and conversation this morning.
Very good service. Friendly staff. Had fish and chips. Was good, but I'm more of a beer batter type of fish and chips fan. This is more of a southern style. Which I guess is just preference. Having said that, I'd go back and try some other dishes. The location is awesome and the prices are not outrageous.
Food is good and consistently is everytime we come. Service has always been good.
Waited for about 10-15min roughly before being served after arriving. The male server that initially greeted me, took my order for a cup of orange juice. Afterwards, he deliberately chose to restocked the orange juice fridge with his coworker rather than complete my order until one of female servers took my order. If it wasn’t for the female server and I wouldn’t have “tipped”. But I use to work at restaurant as my first job, so I spread the love for my restaurant workers despite the low energy I received. Other than that, food was quick and hot. I had the 4 pancakes stack with two slice of bacon and one scrambled egg.
Everything is quite excellent but I having issue with parking. So much rush with the parking.
Pacific Diner is not bad, but not great either. The food was okay and the environment was clean. The service was a bit slow, but the staff was polite. If you are nearby, give it a try. It is okay for a casual meal.
We appreciated the fact they were able to accommodate seating for our large group of 20+ persons. The service was not the greatest. They seemed very unorganized, a few times forgetting to bring things out. Most places will make sure kids get served first, here my 3 year old nephew was one of the last ones served. The server even had to ask what he had ordered because she wasn't sure. Unacceptable. Another nephew ordered a bowl of chili, the cheese was a slice of what looked like Kraft American cheese, not shredded cheddar cheese like most places would use. If I'm ever in that area again, it's pretty likely I won't be going there again.
Apparently the old owner sold the place to some dude who thought he could save money by firing everyone and changing the recipes. I forget the gal's name there, but she worked there since I was a child, apparently got let go of. Removing my review scores, because I cannot rate a place I've now never been. Wholly new restaurant, owner, and staff. If i ever go back (probably wont, stop changing Pedro by being greedy) then i'll update the review.
Food was very bland no flavor at all, paid $60, plus tip for breakfast for two people. Server was not helpful at all. Will not be back
I don't understand why this place has good reviews. The only thing I liked was the friendly service. But the food was terrible. I'd rather go to Norms that is cheaper in price too. The sandwich I ordered was slightly charred on the top and bottom. The fries it came with were "cafeteria" style criss cut fries that I haven't seen since my days in an elementary school's cafeteria. I'd rather go to in n out with fries that are freshly made daily. My sandwich tasted like a dulled down version of a McDonald's cheeseburger, but for more than double or even triple the price. Very disappointing. Once again the staff was great , just sad that the food quality doesn't match.
Was having a good lunch til about halfway through my burger I was interrupted to pay for my meal. Felt rushed in paying and the lady was real quick to want a tip. I shouldn't have to tip when my service isnt even complete. Service wasn't so great , asked for a refill and the lady walked around with my cup in her armpit while helping 2 other tables before disappearing with my cup, mind you my straw was still in the cup rubbing all over her armpit area. I won't be back , dont recommend.
Went to the Pacific Diner today and something has definitely changed. The atmosphere was not the same as it has been for the last 30 years. The Diner was under staffed and the waitresses had to prepare some of the food. I understand there is ANOTHER new owner. Have always had great experiences here, but we may need to find a new Diner after what we seen today. Really sad to see this happening to small, family owned businesses. No employee should be brought to tears at there place of employment.
