We all grabbed some pizza here on our way home from the after party of our buddy’s wedding. The place is certainly packed, but the pizza came out fast and it was HOT. Hard to complain about a hot slice of pizza at 2 am! But the real star is Earl. He was so kind to us while we ate our slices on their street side patio - a very cool guy who has definitely seen it all. Thanks Earl for helping end our evening on a high note!!
Was on a weekend trip stopped to try the pizza 10 out of 10. I
Oh my goodness! This is the best pizza I’ve ever tasted in Santa Barbara ! I am from New York and this is the closest thing to home. Do yourself a favor. Go to uncle Rocco’s and order the godfather, pizza or veggie pizza they are both amazing you will not regret it ! Don’t read the bad reviews come and try this pizza for yourself!
Outstanding pizza. I see some people comment that it's expensive. Yeah well.... You can go get worse pizza for less money. These guys nailed it.
Best pizza I’ve ever had, hands down.. Lived in SB all of my life, their pizza is incredible!
Being from the Northeast area, I miss good NY style pizza. I saw this place and wanted to try it. I also wanted to see if they got it right. I was very pleased with the pizza as they knocked it out of the park. I had been looking for a place in California that had good NY style pizza and I finally found it. Cheers to you guys!
Love love love this pizza. My favorite outside of actual deep dish in Chicago. Crispy crust and good amount of toppings. Not usually busy during the day but at night it can get packed. They also have a beer and wine bar as well
This is the best pizza I have ever had! We drive from Simi Valley to Rocco’s just to get a slice of pizza, or two, and a glass of wine! The ambience is warm and inviting. Family-owned and operated with love! Highly recommend that you go see them, enjoy family atmosphere, and have some awesome Pizza! They have a wide selection of wine and beer as well. We give it a solid 5 ! Debi Gillis & Gregory Blake 7/5/19
Finally East Coast meets West Coast -- Uncle Rocco's New York's Pizza is one of the most delicious restaurants out here in California. Thank goodness I found this place! I just tried the pasta with meatballs, and now it's one of my favorite dishes. Besides the pasta, I absolutely love the cheese pizza. I love the Frank Sinatra music that's playing while I eat; this is definitely a true authentic Italian pizza place! FM
We love trying local pizza places when we travel to new places.. this was hands down a 10/10 for my husband and I! We tried the cheese and loved it so much that we ordered from here a second time and got the Canadian bacon and pineapple and a margarita pizza.. both were perfect! Highly recommend stopping in here if you are in Santa Barbara.. even if just for a weekend!
This pizza was deeelicious! It was the closest pizza to what I grew up eating in NYC. Wish it was closer to me. If you are nearby that place do yourself a flavor and go get some!

Good Evening, Uncle Rocco's pizza is an Excellent and Amazing Establishment. And there open Late nights for those Knightowls. The bread is Crisp and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is relaxing, there's plenty of seats and wheelchair access and tables are present. The lighting is low and there's also a Bar and multiple T.V.'S with an array of shows. I would highly recomend this place as top shelf, and the Employees deserve a raise and a promotion. Thank You, and Respects.
Pizza here is amazing, great flavor and the crust is great, I ordered a pizza slice and asked to be crunchy and they made it just the way I like my pizza, I will be back for more..........,..🍕

Went here with my 11 yr old mentee. His review is, "biggest pizza ever!" 😄 It's fun. NYC vibes, basic pizza, as expensive as anything on lower state. But fun to share a memory! We both recommend it... sometimes.
Would be 5 stars if the slices were $2.50 for a cheese instead of $5. But the quality is excellent. Very good pizza, and I was sober when I went there. Owner is a nice guy, actually from New York, so he knows pizza. None of this California garbage pizza here.
I wanted to rate this because people are saying it might not taste like New York Style pizza. My grandparents had a place in Syosset, Long Island and they loved to take us to Mario's Pizza. The pizza here tastes like Mario's. So I would say it is New York Style and tastes really good. The only problem is it is expensive because it's on State. People are saying $5 for a slice is cheap, it really isn't when you are talking about a regular cheese pizza slice. Regardless, I enjoyed eating pizza here.
PRO: This pizza is legitimate. And I’ve had many a pie. Most people rate this place lower due to the price. Which isn’t bad, unless you’re expecting Domino’s or Little Squeezer’s. We ordered the calzone with anchovies. It was delicious. Also a beer ON TAP. The music was superb, playing classic Sinatra style. Any pizza place should have tap beer, hence the atmosphere rating. The only negative is that they might need to do a bit of remodeling on the ceiling to accommodate the weather and tear. However, this is minute. Eat their pie and enjoy. They also have a GIANT pie if you choose. And the bathroom was clean😎 CONS: They could have included more variety of veggies in the calzone (included was olive, mushroom, red onion, and tomato).
This place is open late at night. Grabbed a slice after midnight. It had a great 80s music playing loud. The pizza by the slice was classic New York style. It was good! Service was quick and you can’t beat the price - $5 a slice. It looks like they also serve beer and wine at the bar. If I ever get hungry in the middle of the night again, I’ll be back. Love the vibe though, quintessential American.
They always have fresh pizza, and the slices are huge—you can really get full with just one piece. The pizza is delicious. They prepare it quickly. The staff are great people. The cool interior and beautiful neon signs create a unique atmosphere.
Pros: Probably the best pizza in Santa Barbara. The dough tastes correct and I'll give the most marks there, the crust is solid and the sauce and cheese act as a decent compliment. The sauce is on the muted riper side. Got pepperoni as the topping, and no issues there. The pizza came with a nice logo'd wax paper over the paper plate, this was a nice touch. Note: I think some other commenter complained about paper plates, in New York unless you get a pie, this is how pizza is traditionally served. It is *not* knife and fork food. The paper plate is the perfect compliment as it has give, this is suited to proper pizza-eating technique and etiquette. Cons: I can get (at least) three or four slices and a soda for the same price is most of New York, but hey, California. Pizza isn't really a thing here. Also watch out for the upcharge on card payments, I'm not sure why out here everywhere has such high minimums or fees, it feels back in time, in the not so good way I mean. Conclusion: Anyways, if you need a pizza fix in Santa Barbara, I would recommend this joint. Just be aware, it's probably far more worth it to get a whole pie at the price-point.

Great pizza but insanely expensive. $50 for the biggest size is absurd. But then again it’s the best New York style Pizza on State Street. Still won’t have me coming back except for the occasional slice but it is what it is

Unfortunately, the slice was a little bland. My daughter and her mom liked it. Wish we would have ordered a whole pie, hard to judge on one slice, that might not have been super fresh. Atmosphere was wonderful and great service.
I really wanted this to be excellent, as I love NY-style pizza. We ordered 3 slices and they were huge, but they were all a little burnt and unpleasant. Service was okay, but not terribly attentive, especially at the bar - we were the only two in there for quite some time and it took until a few minutes after our pizza even came out before someone was around to take our drink orders.
Expensive for what it is ….. Decent but not great .

NYer here. Ate here on a late night. Honestly not bad for a late night but definitely not NY style pizza at all. A bit pricier than expected for a small personal pie.
This is pizza not fine dining. +$7 for a slice of plain cheese. Add toppings and you’re easy $8-$9 a slice. Service was mid at best. Have 5 star service for the price at least. Bring the price below $5 a slice then I’ll reconsider coming back. Disappointing.

At ~$7/slice quality was really a miss for me. Maybe I got something that had been sitting in the warmer for too long but it was greasy and unsatisfying. Overall $21 for two slices of pizza and a soda is already high but for this quality it’s definitely not worth it.
Pizza is just not good. Under cooked dough, low quality cheese and toppings. Would not recommend
I ordered a slice with pepperoni and Canadian bacon, which was $7 after tax, plus I think I tipped a dollar. When I got my piece it had no Canadian bacon, so I went up and the guy realized he messed up and took the slice back to put on the missing topping. It came back some moments later with the Canadian bacon hardly warmed at all, looking like they'd just been taken out of the fridge and slapped on. I ended up picking them off and eating a mediocre slice of pepperoni pizza that I waited too long and paid too much for. You'll be better off going across the street to Cubaneo
Pizzas good, $18 good I’m not sure. Each topping being an added dollar it’s hefty, and also didn’t realize I’d be charged 65 cents to have them put it in a box. I’ll take it home and get ranch instead of paying a dollar for that too. Cashier just hanging out by the oven on his phone doing nothing, bar is dead, all but one tv on. Used to love it here but will probably be the last time.

9.25 FOR A SINGLE SLICE,THATS RIDICULOUS!!! I don’t write reviews but this place was just robbery. It took 15-20 minutes for a single slice, which usually takes at most 5-10 minutes. The atmosphere was nice but that was the only benefit. The pizza tasted like cardboard with some extra crunch to it. For the price point that slice was horrible a they charged me an extra dollar for the box and some random other price.their box says #1 rated pizza in SB, maybe from the tasteless.
The atmosphere was great but the Pizza was not the greatest. It didn’t have too much flavour.

Who ever the guy at the door is bro asked me to remove my hood from my hoodie this guy is an actual joke
Barely was walking in as their “guard” asked me to remove my hoodie??? I have never been asked to remove my clothing anywhere! I’m so done with this place!!!
They say one slice with one topping is about $6. I ended up paying closer to $10 out the door. The pizza is reheated not fresh, if the pizza was $2 that would be a different story. You shouldn’t be able to trick people into paying $10 for a mediocre pizza slice.
Horrible customer service. The owner or manager and the older lady are rude and cheap. Bottom line I would never recommend this place. $7 for terrible slice of pizza served on cheap flimsy paper plates. They handed me a huge pizza of sloppy pizza on a flimsy 99 cent store plate. When this too heavy pizza for the plate made the plate flimsy and pizza slide off right at their counter in front of them I asked them for a new slice and a better plate or box the rude owner insisted I was intoxicated to cashier who handed me the pizza and it was not their fault the pizza fell off plate. (I am 6 months pregnant.) I overheard her rude comment and asked to speak to someone else, when the owner and manager came over he told me I could buy a new slice for half off. Cheap cheap cheap....Then he yells and kicks a (stranger) out of the restaurant who witnessed the whole thing and defended me and thought how they acted was so unprofessional. Bottom line terrible customer actually no customer service. His own employee offered to pay for a new slice for me. The money was not the issue it was the principle and doing the right thing. Bottom of the line don't go, I spent $30 on 4 (slices) of pizza and they couldn't even work with me when they saw the whole accident. We all didn't even finish the pizza, too much sauce under cooked and flimsy.
I have ordered 22” inch SB veggie Pizza and Penne Pasta and it’s not at all worth it. First, They took a long time to serve. Second, The worst I have ever ate- such a pathetic taste, it’s not at all crispy and the sauce that they put in the pizza it was dripping all over while eating. Third, Penne pasta was also very pathetic I can make better pasta and pizza at home. NOT át all worth it.
Cockroaches 🪳 in the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen. Precooked pizza for 7$ A SLICE. Obviously STONED staff.
Terrible pizza. Cheese was gross. And outrageously priced. Even if it’s the only place open, skip it.
Worst pizza ever. Ordered 4 toppings he just tossed them on top, didn’t even try to put cheese on it and bake it. I feel so angry looking at what they are serving for 14$ a slice
If you have a family, you are not welcome here. Uncle Rocco's doesn't serve anything vegan and then, if your kids want to eat pizza, they throw you out if you try to bring something in so you can eat with your family. Here are photos of us eating outside on State Street (no benches). Two thumbs down.
A dollar slice of pizza in nyc is better than a $7.76 slice of pizza at uncle Rocco’s Ny pizza in Santa Barbara, CA. The security guy is whack. The staff is nice. The highlight of waiting 15 minutes for a slice of cheese was watching a guy eat two hot dogs in line while waiting to order and seeing a women vomit outside of the two bathrooms. Italian flag is a nice touch. The heavy nyc decor made me miss the smell of the 4 train in Manhattan.

My fiancé and I came here tonight (12/22/25) because it caught our attention as they serve NY pizza by the slice. We placed our order, which was $19 for 2 pepperoni slices which is overpriced. We order and sit down. Shortly after a lady sitting at a table walks behind the counter and starts kissing the guy making the pizza! The guy even kissed her back for a solid 30 seconds. We were disgusted that that happened especially since he made our pizza and was still gonna serve it to us? NO THANKS. We got a refund and left disgusted.
Charging $8 for a slice of cheese pizza is 1. Unaffordable to a family / people going on a date living on minimum wage 2. Heinously greedy 3. Not sustainable for long term client growth Absolutely disguising, don’t you dare call this a New York famous pizza where an average cheese slice is $1.50/2.00
