Santa Maria BBQ Land

I’ve been attending this place with my father since the seventh grade and I’m in the twelfth grade now. I tell you, we’ve never been disappointed. At some times, I’ve gone with some other people and they seemed to enjoy it. The place could use some decorating of course, but this place is the go-to. The wait is short, it’s affordable, and they deliver as well. This place definitely deserves more recognition. When I eat from here, I always order a beef tri-tip plate. It’s very delicious. BBQ Land is my favorite place to get food from. My favorite fast-food restaurant is a different story but this isn’t necessarily a fast-food restaurant. They should build a BBQ World!

BBQLand is a mom and pop restaurant that has great quality meals with large portions at a reasonable price! My go to are the baby back ribs and cheeseburger but the chicken nuggets slaps!!

We went there three times in a week. The food is good. The restaurant is squeaky clean. The menu is varied and super service! BBQ meats are tender and moist and both the beef and pork bulgogi were super yummy. Each had it's own flavor profile were very enjoyable. The pork is pleasantly spicy. The beef bulgogi was a super flavorful traditional bulgogi, and not too sweet.

We ordered a rack of spare ribs, and a double side of coleslaw. The ribs were fantastic, perfectly seasoned, tender and moist. The coleslaw was delicious, I like how they shredded the cabbage thin and very flavorful. My 1st time here, will definitely come again!! 👍🏼😉

Was leary because of some reviews. Yes a little old, not much atmosphere, but food was excellent. Between 4 of us with combination plates the beef, pork ribs, chicken were excellent. All came with 3 sides. The macaroni salad probably came from Costco, but was good and what you got for the price was excellent. Reminds me of mom and pop restaurant just getting buy and not raising prices for a new paint job, but searving great food. Service was friendly and when my wife poured her dressing on her salad he came out and gave her a second one and we had not asked for more.

Stopped in because we wanted real authentic Tri Tip plate and that's what we got. We got BBQ sauce on the side so we could taste the flavor and the plate came with 3 sides. It was flame grilled over oak so it had a nice smokey taste. Would recommend. Too bad we don't live close would love to try there ribs.

BBQ Land is the best! My family has always orders delivery for large parties. We usually get, half chickens with steak salads. We also love the tri-tip (just make sure you say how well done you want it, they’ll do it for you) The food is made with love and you can taste it. There Kim-chi, potato salad, beans, and salsa are addictive. We always get extra just in case. Highly recommended for large last minute family gatherings. Enjoy!

The service was great very informative and friendly, let me tell you about the food , One of my sons had the pulled pork sandwich. He said it was delicious. My other son had the double cheeseburger with fries. He gave it a seven out of 10 , my husband and I split our dishes and the chicken was amazing. The tri-tip was delicious. The ribs were also so tasty! 10/10 . We will be back !

Bathroom and water access. High end smoked meats if you have the dinero 💯👌 The bbq sauce didn’t taste like ketchup. Nice steak fries. Mellow white rice. Toasted bun and smoked pulled pork. Now that’s awesome!

First time here visiting from out of town and my ordered a New York steak. It was cooked just like I like it! Even the chili beans had good flavor!😁👍

I’ve been eating here for years. I now live up the coast in SLO. Whenever I’m in Santa Maria I make time to stop by for their great bbq chicken. Having a choice of three sides makes it a real meal,usually taking some home for dinner too. Also they have great Korean style soups,Kim chi and other dishes that are really good and interesting to try. Then there’s the point system; every time you make a purchase that adds up to free food when you reach the proper level. I only wish they’d open up in San Luis Obispo

We were looking for tri-tip sandwiches for our night in Santa Maria. The wait for the Swiss Restaurant was an hour and we looked for another option. BBQ Lands tri-tip sandwiches were tender and delicious. Immediate and great service at reasonable prices.

I recently stopped by BBQ Land in Santa Maria, and it’s definitely some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a while. The tri-tip sandwich was fantastic—juicy, with just the right smoky flavor, and served on perfectly toasted bread. You can tell they put real care into the barbecue here. I also tried the ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender, with a nice depth of flavor. The sides were generous, too. The beans were rich and flavorful, and the coleslaw was a great balance to the richness of the meat. The whole place has a laid-back, welcoming vibe, and the staff were friendly and quick to get orders out even when it was busy. I’d absolutely recommend BBQ Land to anyone in the area looking for an authentic Santa Maria BBQ experience. It’s a hidden gem worth checking out if you’re craving solid, satisfying barbecue.

I got the #5 combo I believe, the ribs were delicious but the Chilli bean side wasn't that good and the garlic bread was one piece of brean, but the ribs were a 10/10

Good BBQ flavors, for pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, but they are plain and could use some veggies. Beans are excellent, and so are their French Fries. The lunch specials are the best value, but even they can be over $10 depending on what you get.

I just ordered for delivery for the first time, the food was here in about 20 min. It was nice and hot. We got the tri-tip sandwich, which comes with two sides, we got the rice and beans, the sandwich was good, it had four pieces of meat, the beans needed salt. We also got the grilled steak salad, it's enough for two and delicious. And last we got their fried mushroom and zucchini combo, also delicious. Total cost with delivery $23.80, pretty good deal for us, I'll be ordering again.

Very satisfying meal. I got a tri-tip sandwich with macaroni salad for about 10 bucks. The salad portions are small but the sandwich is regular size. The meat was tender and tasty and the macaroni salad was good too. You get two sides with your sandwich (beans,garlic bread, potato salad etc) fairly quick getting order and I was pleased with my food.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I love it . awesome food ! However. There's a few waitresses that are rude and will purposely be slow or pretend to not understand u. They come and go. The owners are excellent people. Super nice and once they were taking a while for some side orders so they gave me an extra side on the house! Love the atmosphere.

Definitely a take out spot. I had BBQ pork chops. They were thin and chewy. The beans were tasty and the potatoe salad was okay. My wife had the Korean meat which also was pretty standard. All in all, I'm glad we tried it, but there are too many good spots in SM to return.

While the food wasn't bad, it's definitely expensive for what you get. Tri-tip was thin, the sandwich was small. Other reviewer said they used can soda, but there is now a fountain machine (self-serve). The spare ribs were definitely delicious, though.

I have never been so outraged! Absolutely horrible. The food I was served not only looked disgusting but the "wings" were missing half of the meat and they were literally the smallest wings I have ever seen. I have no clue how this place stays in business. I seriously feel disrespected and ripped off. BBQ Land should be ashamed to serve food the way they do. Prices are way too high. You couldn't pay me to eat what they served me. I do not recommend this place. Don't waste your money.

The prices don't match the quality or portions. The hamburger was dry and the tri-tip sandwich was pretty small compared to other restaurants in the area. The tri-tip itself wasn't prepared very well, it was tough, not tender at all. The beans were ok though. The coleslaw made this southern born man just plain sad.

Nice people upfront, but the Barbecue tasted like trash no seasoning with barbecue sauce 🤮 wife and I threw it in the dumpster went to McDonald’s instead very disappointed…sorry

Disappointed for a $25 purchase. Two traveling seniors shared the 1 meal purchased and had lots left over that went in the trash. 3 Spare ribs were of good size but not tender. They were rubbery, almost undercooked. Potato salad was very bland. Bread was ok and the green salad was the best item, it was fresh and the only item fully eaten.

I haven't been to BBQ land for a year. So this afternoon I went and ordered the Pork Rib with 3 sides. I took the meal home and looking forward to a delicious meal. One bite of the Rib and it was dry and tasteless. It look like it was cooked in the morning and reheated. Very disappointed, and I shouldn't had ate it, because later it gave me a upset stomach 😞

The owner was rude the tri tip was dry. The smallest sides I’ve ever seen on a plate and they were flavorless. Never again. Paying $20 for that junk wasn’t the worst part it was when I was leaving I seen the owner dig in the trash with his tongs. When I seen that I lost it. He needs to be shut down that can get somebody really sick and he doesn’t care. It needs to be shut down he is a disgrace to the food industry.

I've been purchasing ribs and other food for years. The ribs were dry and day old and not worth eating. I tried to give the place another chance a few days later, this time I had a hamburger with onion rings and fries, it was like eating the sole of a shoe, tough and dry. I will not be returning, maybe you should find a new cook. I almost forgot the ribs cost $18.00 & the two burgers and fries and onion rings cost $28.00, please tell me if this is not over charging, really trying to support small business since COVID-19, but, please we all went through the same thing. 🤔😱

This place should be called BBQ Dumpland...because its terrible!! Beans were not cooked, meat was dry, garlic bread was cheap bread from the store with some slap of garlic on it. Only thing good was my canned drink. The BBQ place down the highway is better, but not great! Actually nothing...nvm
