Let me tell you about Kadens!! Kadens is a small hole in the wall country store that sells the perfect amount of grab and go snacks and a nice menu of take out hot and cold foods, they have a few picnic tables outside for customers to use, its a place of kindness, feeling welcome and regulars! My husband brought my boys here after their soccer practice across the street, they all came home raving about the chicken tenders! A couple weeks later, after another long day of soccer practices I decided to bring my boys back in there for a late lunch. My youngest son walks right up to the counter like a pro and says "I've got this Mom" then turns to the woman behind the counter and says "I will have chicken tenders, fries and honey mustard please and thank you" she was great about taking his order, the rest of us placed ours and for a few minutes it was just us in the store and while our food was cooking we had some very pleasant conversations with the owner (who is right there working and is so kind) and the woman working with her, I didn't catch either of their names but they were both great!! There were 4 of us that day, with 4 drinks, and 4 chicken tender baskets with fries and dipping sauce and I spent less than $50. The best part, the food was amazing!!! The people, the atmosphere, the prices and the food, all top notch! Not only will we be back, but we will 100% recommend to anyone going through the South Berwick area!

After reading through the reviews, I figured I'd give their pizza a try since I was in the area. I was surprised! It was pretty solid. Place is a very unassuming convenience store but while waiting for the pizza, a lot of customers came through. Crust was not NY style but decently thin and held up well without flopping. Sauce could be better but solid amount of sausage and bacon made for a good pie. I'd come back for it again.

Over the years, I’ve stopped here a few times to get a sandwich or a slice of pizza. Both are quite good. But when I stopped in yesterday, the young woman behind the counter acted as if she would rather be doing just about anything else, except working there. She said all the right words but she seemed so unhappy and so unfriendly. It was very sad. She didn’t look us in the eye. She didn’t smile. She just seemed absolutely miserable.
