Opinions de The Fitzroy Savannah
Went for dinner on a Tuesday around 6:30 and it was pretty quiet, which made for a relaxed, easygoing experience. We started with the lamb meatballs — super flavorful and a great way to kick things off. Definitely recommend. The green goddess salad was fine, but not particularly memorable. If I were ordering again, I’d probably skip that and lean into something else. The fried catfish was delicious. The grits were solid and the greens had great flavor, though they do bring some heat — worth noting if you’re sensitive to spice. The absolute standout, though, was the gnocchi. One of my favorite dishes I had while in Savannah. The gnocchi were pillowy soft and the sauce was incredibly flavorful — rich without being heavy. It’s the kind of dish you think about the next day. Service was excellent — attentive without hovering. You can tell this is an upscale restaurant that takes pride in its food. Pricing felt on par for Savannah and very reasonable for the quality you’re getting. Would absolutely return, especially for that gnocchi alone.
We made a last minute reservation here and it was amazing! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, every single bite. The service was just as great, too. Lydia was so sweet and welcoming. We definitely cleaned our plates, and everything came out surprisingly fast. Such a great experience all around!
What a pleasant surprise!!! My wife and I entered this establishment in Savannah, Georgia, with the intention of trying out the Grouper with Sun chokes, and on a whim, we changed our minds and tried the Fitzroy Burger. It was huge, flavorful, and juicy. The steak fries were some of the best that I’ve had…. We looking forward to driving the three hours to come back here to work our way down their menu. When you guys visit, please ask for Ahdo. He was an excellent server, who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasurable experience.
Dudes! This is the BEST Southern food this Yankee has ever experienced. I’m soooo full, but I want to keep eating because it’s so yum. Ask for Lydia as your server, and just trust her. If she says you should get it, just get it. No argument; just get it. Service is exemplary. We felt catered to and appreciated. I got the Devil’s Punch and my friend got the Dark Ritual. My drink was tart, balanced, and thoughtful and my friend’s drink would definitely make me a fan of Manhattans, if they are as good as these. A local server recommended this place as the place she would go to, and we agree. Quality food and quality ingredients made and served by people who care. Wow. If you are disappointed in this place, you are a miserable human being and I feel sorry for you, because you are incapable of experiencing care, warmth, and passion.
This was my first time in savannah GA, and honestly I didn't have too many expectations. But let's just say, they blew me out of the water. First step into the restaurant, very cozy feel to it. I reserved the patio and it was very nice, quiet and dim; not too bright. I was able to enjoy the atmosphere and I felt overall very relaxed and comfortable. Ahdo, oh my goodness, AHDO was absolutely amazing. I don't often say this, actually I have never said this but he was the best waiter I ever had. He was so kind and easy to talk to. He gave us great recommendations of where to go for brunch as well as sightseeing. I had the cucumber blossom cocktail that he recommended and it was the best. It was a nice fresh yet slightly sweet drink. I had the half chicken and I just absolutely MELTED. It was so juicy and delicious, paired very well with the cabbage. My husband got the burger with fries and while the burger was delicious, it didn't blow my mind. But the fries however, I couldn't stop munching on them. We also got the oysters for appetizers and they were absolutely phenomenal, the flavors were just so incredible. Will 100% be back again, and will be asking for Ahdo !!
We were attending a conference downtown at River Street and wanted to get off of the beaten path and try something different. We found The Fitzroy and the reviews and pictures looked delicious. So, we made a reservation and we are so glad that we did. Everything was fantastic and very unique in a delightful way. We sat on the rooftop and just had an enjoyable meal. Zach took great care of us and we highly recommend giving this restaurant a go if you enjoy really great food.
Always a pleasure dining here. Lovely service from Lydia, who took great care of us! The food never disappoints, and I believe this is the best medium-rare steak in Savannah. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great location right by the river. We also enjoyed their rooftop area — very romantic vibes!
Wow, what a wonderful place!! Zack was absolutely incredible — very kind, hospitable, and had fantastic recommendations! We had the 1/2 chicken, surf and turf, and bread pudding. It was absolutely fantastic and we look forward to visiting again someday.
Ate here for a private group dinner and had an amazing time, all handled very well by our sever Steve. The starters and sides are all great, with favorites being the eggplant dip and meatballs. The fried flounder was amazing, and the swordfish was good as well. The Bees in the Trap cocktail was pretty good as well.
Absolutely wonderful, the ambiance, food and service was immaculate.. My server Audo was so attentive, had wonderful knowledge of the menu, and had great recommendations along with his own personality adding to the experience. 10 out of 10 recommend.. Forget to take before eating!!
Great service, great cocktails and great food. What else can I say? Our server was very polite, friendly and gave is wonderful recommendations. Great place for a date night. We will be back.
Stevie made the whole experience special. Love that they have local grouper - the grouper was amazing - and shrimp. The cocktails were great. Rooftop was beautiful and relaxing at night when the weather is nice. Definitely recommend.
The food was great but what made the experience was the waiter. It is amazing how the staff can make or break an experience. I would go back here 100 times just based on how friendly and upbeat the waiter was
Lydia was a great server and the Alabama catfish was outstanding!! We will definitely return on our next trip to Savannah.
Great visit here for dinner. Our waitress was great and attentive. I got the Rosie the Riveter drink and it was super yummy. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and my husband got the halibut and we both really enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere is cozy and very classy. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner out!
We went for restaurant week. Our reservation was at 5:45pm. We placed our food orders right around 6. The beer (Ukiyo, possibly spelled wrong here) and wines we chose were delicious. The cheesecakes were great. Fish & chips excellent. Steaks weren't quite cooked as requested, but still delicious. Calamari was excellent. Mussels were okay, a bit heavy on garlic for me but my friend ate them just fine and loved them. The only real issue was the time. It took well over an hour to get our food, even though there were very few tables seated when we came in for our reservation. They were also somehow out of one of their only two dessert options already. That was a bit disappointing. The service was great, and we'd go again, but maybe not on a Friday or Saturday.
We had a fantastic dinner at The Fitzroy! Our waiter, Stevie, was outstanding—despite being busy, he made sure we felt well taken care of the entire time. The food was delicious, and the portions were incredibly generous. We’ll definitely be back!
Had such a great experience while passing through town. The manager was great and pointed us to just the right items on the menu. Grits and gnocchi were incredible. So was dessert!
Enjoyed a phenomenal Thanksgiving dinner here last night. Our waiter Colton was absolutely amazing. He had great recommendations for food (our 8yo loved the Mac n cheese!) and tips for what to do in Savannah during our visit. He was attentive and the service was quick. The burrata appetizer and truffle fries were good. I had the NY strip (delicious) and we all went crazy for the dessert recommendation- the chocolate chip milk cake. We would definitely come back next time we’re in Savannah. Decor was dark but homey while feeling special.
11/10. 6 gold stars. My friend and I had the pleasure of having Stevie as a server. He was the cherry on top of what was already a perfect experience. Delicious food (especially seafood options), dangerously yummy cocktails, and a wonderful atmosphere. Stevie made sure we not only had a great dinner, but also recommended some great bars for us to go to after. First trip to Savannah, and am already looking forward to booking a return trip!
Spent New Year’s Eve there. Great location, great food and because of our waiter Stevie, a great time and experience. Don’t let go of this guy! The Georgia shrimp appetizer was awesome and the grouper was delicious! We will return again.
I came here with my fiancé and we absolutely love the Fitzroy. We had Stevie as our server and we’ve had him previously, he is one of our favorite servers hands down. The food is excellent, he works with you on literally anything. One of my favorite places to come especially on a date night! We got the focaccia, gnocci, and the burger which he informed us that they make the burger patties in house from their left over ribeye shavings, which is so cool. Thank you Stevie!!
Me and my girls had a dinner to celebrate Christmas and get together, the atmosphere was amazing. Stevie was out server and he was the best. He had an amazing attitude the entire time and made sure we were treated well. The food was 10/10 and we will definitely be coming back here.
We came to the Fitzroy Thanks to Stevie our Best server at Collin’s Quartes at Forsythe Park in Savanah. I suggest you make reservations it was hard to get in but very much with the wait. Jamie was our server she was wonderful, pleasant great smile . The food Wow wow wow that Butternut Squash soup and the Grouper what flavor .. The chefs must get a raise.. Thank you Jamie and thank you Stevie for the hospitality We can’t wait to return in the future. The entire staff was great !!!
We’ve dined at The Fitzroy several times, and every visit has been fantastic—especially when we’re lucky enough to have Stevie as our server. He’s taken care of us more than once, and each time his service has been nothing short of exceptional. Stevie is upbeat, professional, and genuinely attentive—he makes every table feel like the most important one in the restaurant. His recommendations are always spot on, and his positive energy adds so much to the overall atmosphere. The Fitzroy’s food and drinks are consistently excellent, but Stevie’s service takes the entire experience to another level. If you’re planning a visit, definitely ask for Stevie—he’s one of the best in Savannah!
Excellent experience. Stevie went out of his way to help get us a reservation on New Years Eve! We were at their sister restaurant for brunch earlier in the day where he waited on us. Food is excellent and service is superb!
We had Thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious. A special menu was available for a true traditional meal: turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, homemade bread, gravy and stuffing, along with an amazing pumpkin pie. Everything was served in generous family style, and it was delicious and home made. It was a cozy, nice, and great night
We had a great meal here. Stevie was an excellent waiter and the food was phenomenal. Really cool unique place with great food and great drinks. Only reason for the four stars on atmosphere is it’s pretty loud in there and tables are right next to each other so it’s hard to have a private conversation. Other than that, definitely a place we will return to. Highly suggest the grouper!
Came here looking for an upscale dinner and got sooo much more than that! We sat on the rooftop which is an awesome experience! The food and drinks are wonderful but even better than all that was our server, Stevie! From the moment he reached our table he was a breath of fresh air!! He offered lots of great energy along with wonderful menu suggestions! We took several of his recommendations and were definitely not disappointed!! All in all it was a fantastic time, but I give full credit to having a wonderful waiter! Kudos to The Fitzroy, you guys keep up the good work!
absolutely phenomenal. came for valentine’s day dinner and had Stevie (like wonder, like nicks) and he was incredible. food was beyond expectations and all of the specials were to die for, can genuinely tell everyone that works here puts their heart into it. highly recommend asking if Stevie has a table open when you come in, it’ll be the best service you ever have !! gives fantastic recommendations based on your personal taste and what is popular
We had a day date yesterday and capped it off with a terrific visit to Fitzroy. Mel, the bartender, was so engaging and welcoming. The perfect example of professional hospitality. Our cocktails and wine were perfect. We only had a little snack of grilled sourdough but it was, as usual, super tasty. We’ve had many dinners here since moving to Savannah 5 years ago and this restaurant group does not disappoint. I was in the moment too much to take pics.
Everything here was excellent!!! Our server, Jess, was so kind and helpful. The portions are huge and delicious. We got the lamb meatballs (cannot recommend more) the burger (10/10) and the NY Strip (YUM). Our cocktails were great and the manager, Ian, got us a wonderful bottle of wine to pair with our entrees. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
Popped into the Fitzroy tonight for A quick bite to eat after work. The food was perfect. I love that their menu changes with the season, always something fresh to have. The service was incredible. Lydia was my server. She was attentive to my needs and eager to assist. Will definitely have to come back.
We had dinner here based on a recommendation from some of our friends, and it was fantastic! We had the pork chop dish and their scallop and risotto special, and it was delicious. I also had the “Bees in the trap” drink, and it’s one of the better drinks I’ve ever had. Stevie and Olivia were our servers and they were super friendly and great! Would absolutely recommend!
Super chill atmosphere. Traveling solo and enjoyed a great meal, food quality excellent. Sat at the bar and was greeted by Mel, superb bartender and mixologist. Diverse drink menu and wine list. Come and enjoy!!
My husband and I came in for dinner and were blown away! We love good food and are no strangers to high end dining so we can be a little picky. We had the butternut squash soup and roasted oysters for appetizers and they were both amazing. For entrees, I had the grouper and my husband had the catfish...both were phenomenal in taste and presentation. Service was top notch, drinks were well poured, atmosphere was welcoming and location is perfect. We will absolutely be back.
Perfect from start to finish. Atmosphere polished and classic. The grouper was excellent. But the real standout was Adho. He really made the whole experience feel next level. He made wine recommendations and took time to explain why —we basically got a mini sommelier lesson. Throughout dinner he was ON IT and still so sooo pleasant. He treated us like we were his only table, yet the place was packed for dinner.
Our server Stevie was amazing! He’s so welcoming from the start and made me laugh the whole experience. You can tell he loves his job and loves making the customer’s experience memorable. I will return here just so I can have him as my server!
On our visit, we went on NYE and were lucky enough to get Stevie as our server. The food was amazing but he was better. His menu knowledge was impeccable and knew just what to recommend based on what we were thinking already. I’m so glad we wrapped up 2025 here!
Great spot! Outdoor seating area is really cozy. Brussels sprouts are the bomb. Beet salad so fresh. Lamb meatballs did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend The Fitzroy!!!
Super fun ambiance, cool and pleasant. We sat outside on the upper deck and it felt genuinely magical. The food was excellent, nothing tourist-trap about it. The grits with mushrooms were exceptional, and the Cucumber Gin Refresher was creative, yummy, and nicely strong. What made the night, though, was our server, Stevie. You can find good food and a great vibe in a lot of places, but servers like Stevie are one in a million. That’s why we will be back the next time we are in town!
A fun slightly hidden location in Savannah it’s also part of the southern Cross hospitality group that owns Collins quarter and couple and a couple other Savannah spots. We’ve now been here a couple times, recommend a reservation as there’s not a ton of seating, especially during meal times. The cocktails and drinks are always great and the service is superb just like their other establishments. The food was also good. The only drawback is that it took a while for us to get it for only a group of four and two of the four dishes were pretty cold by the time we got them. It’s one thing to let a steak rest for a little bit, but to get a cold pork chop or chicken is definitely less appealing considering the price you pay. The flavors were good, which made the meal redeemable. Really, the dessert which was the caramel crunch bread-pudding, and bourbon fudge is what closed it out for us in a strong way.
An excellent dinner was had at the bar; starting with a whiskey sour (made properly with real egg white), grilled sourdough and ample golden beet salad, and complimented with Swordfish “steak frites” with a tasty, spicy compound butter. Bar staff knowledgeable and helpful. Ambience very good, food VERY good. Value very good, by today’s standards.
I was able to book a table for 2 on a Thursday a few hours before for patio (aka rooftop) seating. Mind you, there isn’t really a view but it’s nice to sit on a deck with star jasmine in bloom. Hope, our server, was very enthusiastic and cheery. Although we split a starter, appetizer and main we had too much food. The cocktails were okay, not great (too sweet or missing the mark based on the description). Food was okay - edamame pancake too sauced, mussels good but could have a better sauce, fish and chips beat of the 3. Service was a 4. Food a 3. Ambience a 4. Value a 4.
As we looked around we saw online and food looked good so my wife and I went in on a Monday evening thinking it may be a slower night. Not so they already sold out of both of there fish dinners. Which was okay. Husband ordered pork chop and wife order gnudi both dishes good slightly warm not hot by no means but we're still happy with our dinner. Dessert was very disappointing bread pudding? So they say. Burnt topping and bottom and waitress brings it out with ice-cream then drizzle chocolate all over it like yummy. The room is slightly dark so you have a hard time really seeing the black chard bread until you try to cut into it and very disappointing. Shouldn't be on the menu because someone burnt this Dessert. The waitress was very nice and I am sure she is doing what she is asked to do by management I did see other plates go back wasn't just ours!
Came here on my birthday and really enjoyed it. My friend and I split the lamb meatballs, eggplant dip, roasted chicken dish and beet salad. All were extremely good and the servers were so friendly and gave us a ton of local recommendations to try. They also gave me and my friend a glass of bubbly on the house to celebrate. Really enjoyed it here and would come back!
I had high hopes for this place bartender was extremely rude from the second I walked in definitely did not feel welcomed , the steak I had to send back was super rare, which I ordered medium for the price not worth the experience., it's a shame. I love steak and visit Savannah very often, but I don't think I'll be coming back.
The food was good, but my Bourbon Sour came in a really small glass. The sourdough with the spicy butter is a must way better than the one it normally comes with (thanks to Otto, our server, for the great recommendation!). We both ordered burgers; my fiancé asked for bacon but didn’t get it in the end. Overall, it was okay but not amazing.
Went here for drinks and dinner. Downstairs the atmosphere is very nice, modern flair, nice layout, cool bar. Unfortunately with our reservation made weeks ahead for 4, we were taken upstairs to a room that was just a room with tables like in a plain old house. No vibe at all, no energy, and we noticed consisted of all older people like us. Did not enjoy the setting at all…. Odd also because there were open tables downstairs when we were seated, so not as if they were full at the time. The drinks were fun, and we tried an assortment just to see what they were like. As far as the food, was just average pub food, not bad but not outstanding. The sausages in the Bangers and Mash were undercooked, and there was a huge amount of breading on both the chicken schnitzel and the fish and chips which was not great. We asked for separate checks for our two couples which they did, but then they somehow swapped the cards so we wound up paying for each other’s meals until we figured out what they had done. Wish we could have sat downstairs, would not eat there again if that is all they have available. Would I go there again..probably not. Would I recommend…only if you don’t get relegated to the room upstairs.
Avoid. The service was absolutely terrible. We sat on the rooftop, which was a great vibe, but had the most awkward introduction with one of the bartenders. He was talking at us, saying we needed to get these really expensive bottles of wine before we even really had the chance to sit down. Next came our server, and she was moving at a snail speed. We had one cocktail in the course of an hour, and during that time we tried to order appetizers and entrees several times, as well as more cocktails. We would go thirty minutes without seeing her, and because of that it kept delaying our order even more. We ended up sitting there for nearly 2.5 hours. None of our entrees came out at the same time, and honestly I was shocked my food was even hott. No managers checked in on us, nor were there any apologies or acknowledgements on the delay. ESPEICALLY for the price of this place. What's sad is one of the girls went the night before and had no issues as a single guest, but a group of 7 was a nightmare. So.. maybe avoid this place if you are dining out with more than just yourself?
