Salmon was cooked perfectly on top of a very creative base of pureed cauliflower and other vegetables. Low carb but packed with flavor! Highly recommend this place. Staff was also awesome.
Kristen (Kristin?) is Phenomenal!! I just loved her service today and look forward to coming back when she’s here. The food is consistently delicious and the cocktails are equally wonderful. Happy to have this secret little spot while the snow birds are away! Don’t sleep on this place!
First time at this location, and by far the best one. From the moment I walked in was greeted and seated even though the rest of my party wasn't there. Had no reservation as well. Our server was amazing, the food was delicious, and filling, will definitely be back!
Can’t tell you how great this place was. If you are looking for a place to sit, chill and eat. Look no further! Good ambiance and people. Oh yeah, food was great! To me, the portions were more than enough.
Had a great experience at The Vig for dinner. Hannah, our server, was extremely friendly and attentive. My burger was cooked perfectly and my wife's Hot Honey Chicken was very flavorful. Highly recommended!!
Andy, the bartender/wait staff was amazing. He was very personable. He made recommendations. He checked on me several times (not over the top) and would chat a bit each time. He seemed genuine and really appeared to like his job. Drinks were on point and the food was good. I went there twice during my stay in Scottsdale.
I host a woman’s Facebook group called Sassy in Scottsdale. This was perfect for our Brunch. Thank you
We tried a new place and we’re not disappointed!! Best passion fruit tea!! My husband had veggie burger it was really good I had Mahi tacos didn’t find much Mahi in it but what I could taste seasoned good!! And please try there Salsa!!! Bomb!! Service was great our server was alittle slow!! Wasnt busy I know some people don’t like to be rushed but I like to eat and go!! . But will be back to try some different items!! Brunch menu was limited, so will be back for dinner.
Looking for a quick place to eat lunch close to our hotel on a Sunday, we landed at the Vig. This cozy, wood inlaid eatery was immediately inviting. The large, and I mean large, front door set the stage. We were greeted and offered choice of seating. We choose outdoor, ordered some sandwiches, with some very interesting sides, and away we went on our culinary lunch journey. Excellent food and service.
Really good happy hour and great margaritas! Love the pretzel with that excellent mustard! Great roasted peppers!! Reminded me of a great common tapa in Spain! Yummy calamari. Lovely Mac and cheese in the kids menu. Great atmosphere, a bit dark around the booths by the bar but other than that! Really recommend! So happy for this location in Scottsdale.
The Vig is an eclectic American style restaurant inside the McCormick Ranch shopping center. There's a ton of parking outside, and inside there are plenty of tables which makes it an easy place to eat since there's usually something available. The staff are amazing, our waiter Bob really knew his stuff while being friendly, funny, and helpful in recommending food for our big party. Drinks have a bit of a heavy pour, and portion sizes in general are a very good size, so the prices are spot on to what they should be. The food was delicious, especially the appetizers. I'd recommend the shishito peppers, chips and dip, pretzel (weird choice, I know, but local bread made it fresh and tasty), and the broccolini. For dinner, you cannot go wrong with the Argentinian steak or the short ribs, even the scampi was good. Would highly recommend eating here, but make sure to make a reservation for bigger groups to save time and effort.
A nice stop for some food after the diamondbacks game. The bartender was excellent. He recommended the short rib tacos and short rib Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. I loved the tacos, best I've had. Enjoyed the great service, and the atmosphere. Will be back.
This is a great place to eat. The overall theme of the resturaunt is very relaxing when you wall in. Our party walked in and was told it was open seating. We sat down in the newly remodeled area which was very nice. Typical menu appetizers, burgers, salads, special entrees, desserts, etc. Ordered 'The Vig' burger which had a interesting combination of egg, guacamole, and jalapenos. It was very juicy, especially from the egg which made it difficult to eat as a whole. The sweet potato fries were excellent, nicely cooked with crispy taste. Waitress was very attentive with refills on beverages and clearing plates when finished. Friendly, positive attitude too. Overall very good place and would revisit.
Excellent hidden neighborhood gem! Best Pozole besides what mama makes. Highly recommend the Poached Shrimp salad. Also, a nice variety of mimosas.
A lot of healthy options. We got the sliders and the chicken sandwich. Both were really good. The servers were very attentive and quick with any requests. Would come back!
A pretty classy looking place. The food was overall really good. My only complaint was the burger bun was too dry.
Good food. Queso and chips were great. If you like spicy and tequila, cheeky little devil is a good cocktail.
Cozy kind of intimate place. Very dark inside. Menu is somewhat limited but the food they do serve is really good. I had the French onion burger, Delicious! Moderately priced. Definitely go back if I'm in that area.
The food was really good and the service was "On Point!" If I'm ever in this area again, I will definitely be back! I am here for a Business Convention so not sure when I will return.
I went here recently for dinner with colleagues. The restaurant is nice, the food is good, and the service was pretty good to. I had the turkey club and it was pretty darn good. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meals. I would definitely recommend it.
All the food was good but what I was most impressed with is that I have a few food allergies and the waitress and staff were super accommodating about them. I usually have issues with my allergies and end up not being able to eat too much at a lot of places (I can’t eat garlic and it’s in everything). But I was able to clarify if my food was going to be cooked in garlic and if the salad dressing had garlic. I ended up with no issues after eating here. Very impressed and I will certainly be back ❤️ I believe our waitress’s name was Taylor, she was awesome.
Great food!! Always a great time. Severs were kind and fast.
Been here 2x for lunch and dinner and both times had great experiences both service and food. My kids love the fish and chips. Steak frites were great and when I went back tried the lunch special and split the Asian salad and the burger and both were fantastic!
This is our neighborhood restaurant that we can walk to and only two minutes. I have eaten there with my family and friends probably about 50 times and never had a bad experience. It has become a tradition to go there on Sundays for brunch with delicious mimosas. Kyle is one of my favorite servers of all time who usually works on Sunday. The food has always consistently been good and I cannot recommend the place more. It is a great place to eat outdoors when the weather permits.
One of my favorites everything on their menu is fire and their team is top notch. Highly recommend this location
I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Vig at McCormick Ranch! Not only is the food absolutely amazing, but the people who work there are truly exceptional. I accidentally left my Louis Vuitton purse there last night—a gift that holds deep sentimental value and cannot be replaced. To my immense relief, the waitress had kindly set it aside and placed it in the safe. When I returned early the next morning, the head chef graciously let me in before opening hours so I could retrieve it. I am beyond grateful for their honesty, kindness, and integrity. This kind of service is rare and unforgettable. Thank you, Vig team—you’ve gained a loyal customer for life!
Visited today and ordered the sausage breakfast Sandwhich and the traditional breakfast plate. The food was seasoned well and cooked to our liking. Our waitress Liz was so kind and attentive.
First time checking it out. Very, very good. Pub atmosphere and relaxing. Hot honey chicken sandwich was the best I've had. The grilled chicken and brie lunch special was equally good. We debated if the regular or sweet fried potatoes were better and decided they were equally good. We'll make this a regular stop.
We enjoyed a nice atmosphere, the spicy crisp tuna was the highest point. The pozole was delicious too. Brussels sprouts and Thai noodles both over saucy unfortunately and that impacted texture. The flavors though were right. Good service, with couple of lacking on details but hey huge shoutout to Ellana. She really helped us with a voucher payment. Great customer service ! Overall we enjoyed and we ll be back
I really like this spot since it feels warm and cozy. The fish tacos here are especially flavorful with just the right spice, and the black bean puree on the side is delicious. The bartender is always upbeat and professional, which makes it a fun place for happy hour.
Held a small engagement party out on the patio for about 25 people. It was fabulous! Plenty of room, private, and seating to accommodate family style eating!
Cute place! Great bar area. Went for the lunch special. They had a lunch special menu. We had the chicken sandwich and Asian salad. Both were delicious. Sweet potato fries were great flavor too. And really liked the dip for the sandwich/ fries
Nice cocktails and happy hour options. Ordered the steak. My only complaint would be that the portion sizes could be a bit bigger.
Great experience for the most part. When you walk in there is someone there to greet you, and was quickly seated. Atmosphere was romantic and not too loud with a couple TV’s showing sports. I had the fish and chips, while the wife had blackened salmon(?). She loved it and I ate all of mine. The part were they lost a star was server didn’t know the ingredients for the dips. I’m deathly allergic to plobano pepper (my throat has closed twice). The fish and dip sauce which server confirmed had plobano’s in the sauce was still served to me. I even mentioned to the server and asked it before I ordered the fish and chips. Servers / food runners need to be better about allergies as they easily could of killed me if I wasn’t careful about them. Summary: great food, good service, awesome atmosphere, iffy on the allergy awareness.
I had the waygu burger. It was good, but so juicy it leaked on my shirt. My wife had shrimp and Brussels sprouts. She lived the shrimp, but the Brussels sprouts were different from the last time we were here. She liked them better the old way.
Nice atmosphere. We both had the "Steak and Sprouts". Nice dish, large helping, steak cooked to perfection, sprout mix delicious. Would have liked a little more steak and less veggies for the $21 price tag. Happy hour house cocktails good, decent price $6. Wouldn't consider it one of my favs, but nice place.
Good food, Good atmospheres nice indoor/ outdoor spaces. Server was a little slow coming around for refills.
Our drinks, appetizers and meals were great. This is my second or third time coming to The Vig when friends or family come into town, and this was the first time trying this location. Our reservation was at 5:30, and at 7:13 the host/manager came and said “can I take these plates for you? Oh, also we have another reservation at this table at 7:30, so will that be enough time to wrap up?” Leaving us feeling like we couldn’t get dessert or enjoy another drink and conversation with our friends in town. Totally caught me off guard and found that maybe had it been 7:35 and we were still just sitting there talking that conversation could have been had, but when our waitress asked if he wanted to get dessert, I wanted to respond “will we have enough time for that?” It was a bit odd, and sort of left a sour taste in my mouth for The Vig. Other than that, it was good as usual! ◡̈
Pretty good bar food. You get what you expect. Chicken wings are a bit small but have good flavors. The fish and chips was a good sized portion and the fish was cooked well. Service seemed to rush us a bit which was odd because there were a lot of open tables.
Nice place. Homey. Drinks were good. Appetizers were good, we had a Pretzel and Calamari. Liked both of them. My meal was ok, hamburger was luke warm and fries were cold. I asked for new fries and they did bring me one which were better. The portions were small for the price. Would not return since just bar food and nothing special.
Missing important service details and several items came out wrong. Removed a few favorites from the menu and what was left wasn’t that great. Would love to see this place do better. Not as busy as I remember for a Saturday night.
The food was great. The service was nice but lacking. There is no cutlery on the table nor condiments so we expected that when our food arrived we would be provided those items. The food runner took off so quickly that when I asked for silverware he was already back in the door from the patio. We thought that he must realize we need those items and went to get them. It was quite a while before our napkins and silverware were brought to us and then after the waiter left hastily we were unable to communicate that we would also like salt and pepper. We had to wait for a long while before we were visited again. Meanwhile the misters are soaking us. My shirt was soaked, the table was soaked, everything got soaked. The misters were are too low. It's over hundred degrees and if you turn them off, you feel it, but they are way too low and they just make the experience miserable. They need to relocate tables or do something because it was a disaster. We asked them to turn off the misters and they did but then someone came and turned it on a few minutes later. It was a horrible experience and other people weren't that thrilled about it either. There are no other seats available and with COVID-19 we just wanted to go out. I left with a wet shirt, my head was soaking, it's excessive and I can't generous with the three stars. It would be five without that part of the meal.
We have driven by this location of The Vig dozens of times. My husband has gone to another location and has enjoyed it. Tonight we wanted to do something different. The food was okay, not bad by any means but nothing standout. They were able to substitute for gluten free. The acceptable food and the service is where the 3 stars came from. The staff was pretty slow. We had to fill our own water after waiting for a while. I made a comment to my husband that they should write down our order because we had some changes, but he went to put it in right away. Missed my add, and my husbands substitution. Then again didn’t come back, they were nice enough, but didn’t feel like it was 4 or 5 star service, especially with it being a little slower. We might try another location.
Service is inconsistent and typically slow. Menu seems to change frequently. Hummus plate is generally very good and a safe bet. I love the shisito peppers for a lighter tasty appetizer. Salmon with quinoa is generally very good. Shredded Brussel sprout are a disappointment. I'd like the grilled unshredded brussels sprouts to make a comeback. Please click 👍 if this was helpful.
The best thing I can say is that they didn’t screw up the beer. We came in for a fathers day brunch and took a seat at the bar to avoid a 30 minute wait for two, although the restaurant was about half empty. We ordered immediately and it took over half an hour for avacado toast and eggs Benedict. Both were inedible. Toast for avacado toast was so chewy that we sent it back. Eggs Benedict was the worst in my life with the eggs being way overdone and the “English muffin”, or whatever they used as a substitute for it, was just like the toast and hard/chewy. The only upside is that they didn’t charge us for the food, I think they were aware of what the kitchen was putting out. Had we paid for that food it would’ve been a one star. We’re on our way to Starbucks now to get some food because we’re starving.
We came here because they allow dogs on the patio and we are traveling with our small dog. The rockfish tacos should be an appetizer as they are street taco sized and don’t even come with rice , very overpriced . We were very disappointed no free chips and salsa and we were not even offered a dog water . Won’t be coming back as the music was also way too loud.
This review is for dinner. The dishes my friend and I picked left us disappointed. The brussel sprouts appetizer sounded great but the brussel sprouts were very undercooked and were very hard to chew. For the main dishes, I got their Chicken Under a Brick. The description made my mouth water as I read and pictured a beautiful, crispy skin on my chicken, fingerling potatoes, roasted cipollini onions, grape tomatoes and broccolini. What I got was: soggy skin, as tomatoes were placed over the chicken, undercooked potatoes and and the whole dish hardly had any flavor - it was pretty underseasoned and I had to ask for salt - I can't remember the last time I asked for salt at a restaurant. My friend got a burger, which she wanted done medium. The burger looked like a thin frozen patty and was definitely not a medium - it would most likely be impossible to cook it to medium. A tiny, tiny salad on a side. I also had a bloody orange margarita, which was ok but in a small glass that they charge $11 for and not worth the price. Service was also lacking. Had to wait a while to ask for the salt. We also asked for a cup of ice for the water and when we got it, the cup had a fruit fly in it. Couldn't even tell the waiter that since he was nowhere to be seen. I would not be going back for dinner, however I hear they are popular for brunch so maybe try it then but definitely pick something else for dinner, in my opinion.
Place is going down hill with its service. Lack of attention. Flagging down my server for service. Used to love this place. Usually a pretty understanding person but this experience today wasn’t it. Disappointing
This “dinner” salad was $10.00!!! A few pieces of lettuce and a couple cherry tomatoes! Hugely disappointed..and the calamari tasted like RUBBER! 😫 EXTREMELY OVERPRICED! I went to Subway on the way home ! No joke
This restaurant has been going downhill for a while but though I’d give it another chance because it used to be one of my favorite since I moved here years ago. Went last night for dinner and seriously regret it. Waited over an hour for our food and then when we got it, it was so bad I couldn’t eat it. I took two bites and it was so stale, gross and like the meat had been sitting out and reheated. The bread was rock hard, I could barely chew through it. Besides that it just didn’t taste right at all. Because I was worried about this, I sent it back and didn’t want to order anything else after that. Today, both my boyfriend and I are so sick, both with bad stomach aches and wild nausea. Our server was nice and this was not her fault at all, but whatever is going on in the kitchen there is a disaster. I can’t believe what they’ll serve customers. Clearly they do not follow food safety protocols or care about their customers. Will for sure never eat here again- seriously disturbed by the fact that we are both so sick after eating here.
