We went on a Thursday at 4:30 pm and it wasn't busy. It did start to pick up though by the time we left. They have at least 20 flavors of ice cream in addition to soft serve and ices. The staff was very nice as they let my whole family taste test flavors. The prices are decent too. For two small and one medium cups the total cost was only $10. Also for a medium you can pick 3 flavors and for a small 2 flavors which I thought was a nice touch.

Visited this establishment today, and ordered a pralines and cream in a cup, and my significant other had a strawberry cheesecake cone. The ice cream was delicious (better than Mr. Softee) and the price is much better too. Significantly cheaper. We got the same thing from Mr. Softee and it was almost $20 bucks. This place was 1/2 the price. Four stars because the floor had topping on it and I thought i stepped on something. Lol. But I'd visit again.

This place was very nice. I tried many flavors and they were all delicious. The flavors were not only good but incredibly accurate. The cappuccino chip flavor had actual cinnamon in it, and each flavor was the same, crafted to taste just like the flavor it was and with a homemade touch that cannot be faked. I give it four stars because the ice cream wasn't kept cold enough for my liking. It was too soft, in my opinion, but it tasted delicious so that made up for it. Taste-wise, this place would be hard to beat, so it is definitely worth a try.

One of the best ice cream place in Long Island. We used to come here with three kids for many years. This time we came with one of our kids and she enjoyed 3 scoops of ice cream on waffle cone. Banana nut is so good! Pistachio was not as good. We had a fun time!

Tons of flavor choices and unique ones & toppings.Sell Ice cream cakes & candy. The waffle bowls are great! However don't assume you will like their version of a flavor you are used to. I suggest ask to TASTE BEFORE YOU BUY. I tried couple and no thanks. My fan is pistachio, they have 2 choices for Sicilian-to me tastes pasty or pistachio nut idky but didn't like either so wasn't having it.

We just brought our kids here and they loved it.. Having grown up just east of Mastic, I only went to the Ice Cream Cottage once when I was about 10 years old, but I’ve been aware of this place as a local landmark for most of my life.. We recently heard that their ice cream was “homemade” so we thought we’d give it a try.. Their selection of flavors was pretty impressive, and they offer ice cream, gelato, sorbet and even Italian ices (they even had a vegan soft serve option).. We all found something that sounded appealing and tasted delicious!! They have a wide selection of toppings as well as cones, from sugar or waffle to pretzel or Oreo.. It was very crowded when we visited but it was all part of the fun and the line moved quickly.. Honestly we had just chosen our orders by the time we reached the counter. The prices were definitely reasonable if not cheap.. After we got our orders we joined all of the other customers outside on benches and ate our ice cream while our kids played with some new friends.. We didn’t try the cakes, so I can’t offer any feedback there, but the ice cream was great.. I’d say it was better quality and more appealing selection than Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s at a lower cost.. Side note, they have a HUGE selection of candy, both new and old school, so you can definitely get your fix here!! All in all a fun family experience and a great option for an occasional treat..

First off have loved Ice Cream Cottage for 30+ years but frankly they need to do some upgrades. Went in there today and all ice creams were melted when when they served them to us, by the time we got home it was soup. The freezers weren't cutting it and venting into the shop made it hotter than the heat wave. Customer service was subpar today but usually is good. Overall great flavor as usual, but ice cream being cold is important to the experience.

Lived here for 22 years of my life, I love ice cream cottage, the service is not the same!!! This is the second time in a row we were rushed out of the door. I’m a manager of a restaurant I completely understand wanting to go home and closing up but we came 30 min before closing and wasn’t taking long to order, we didn’t get any toppings we wanted the girl just closed our ice creams and it felt super rushed!!! This is the second time the same girl did this in a row, I can’t resist not going here ever again but I think it’s gonna be a supper long time before I go back again.

I called to order a cake for pickup and the young lady who picked up told me she could not do over the phone orders and to place it online before 8pm.. sure no problem. I placed the order at 7:14pm for pick up at 4pm the next day and got a confirmation message and everything. I then get a call around 1:30pm saying they cannot make my cake that there are no cake decorators. I was placed on a hold to see if there was something they can do and after waiting for about 10 min they hung up. I then called back and was connected to a very very very rude lady who was further explaining how there is no cake decorators and they cant do anything. I even offered to pick it up later. I explained how special and important this was for me and she offered no sympathy or resolutions to get this matter resolved. She just kept saying how "she does not work at night so she does not know what is going on" I was really counting on this cake today and I am so disappointed. Please do better and train your workers to understand protocols!!!! I am so upset and now frantically searching to find a new cake for an event later tonight.

I am so incredibly tired of receiving incorrect orders at this place. I never leave reviews like this especially for local businesses but every single time we have placed an online pickup order here in the last 6 months, something is wrong with it. The last time we were missing an entire ice cream and had to turn around and drive all the way back after coming home. This time, I paid $2 more for toppings they neglected to put on. We keep giving them the benefit of the doubt because the ice cream is good, but there’s no excuse for this, it’s just pure laziness and it’s happened more times than I can count. We have been coming here for about 15 years and this place has significantly gone down hill in recent years. I’ll likely go back to the place in Manorville when they re-open in the spring. It’s not worth the drive here anymore.
