Great Service , great Bar , Very Good Margaritas !!!, Really Good Fresh made Mexican food , Hand Made Tortillas!! Tacos , chiles rellenos, Enchiladas, Fajitas, Ceviche,a lots of dishes to enjoy!! Super friendly staff , Very Clean .

My boyfriend and I can’t wait to come back to El Capitan!! We were met with the kindest most wonderful owner who made us feel so welcome. I ordered the chicken tamales which I absolutely loved, and my boyfriend got carne asada tacos that he loved as well. It is always so nice to be in the presence of nice people who share their love for quality in every dish.

It’s says a lot when you drive over 30 minutes to get good Mexican food. Great food, Everything has the right flavor. Especially surprisingly delicious are the vegan tacos.

If you come here, ask for a table with Eliseo. He's the absolute best. He stopped at our table 7 times, half the time just to fulfill a need without being asked. Food was amazing. We ordered the queso fundido, tableside guacamole, hopes and shrimp fajitas. All served timely and with the best service.

It’s too bad that they closed down. But if you’re in this exact area, such as shopping at Greenacres and then you want some Mexican food it’s in the same parking lot so you just walk over. For the most part, the place is cramped and the food is not as good as many of the other Mexican restaurants that I have already reviewed. The service at El Capitan was excellent. The servers were very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The flavors were not very good and it didn’t taste authentic for a Latino palate. The service was great, but the food could definitely be improved.

So, this is hopefully a brief update to my past stellar reviews. We recently ordered the family pack special, which went up a few dollars and now does that include the churos. If that wasn’t bad enough, the order of beans and spanish rice was about half of what it has been on all our past orders. Not good items to cut corners on. I don’t want to stop ordering this great special, as it is a go-to dinner for us, but it needs to stay special. —- This evening we decided to order in from a local Mexican restaurant, El Capitan, as they were promoting this special feast deal. It includes a huge delicious salad, a giant bag of tortillas chips, two tubs of a tasty & hot green and red salsas, four green enchiladas, four red enchiladas, four carnitas tacos, a boatload of Spanish rice, and very excellent traditional refried beans. All this for just $35. Incredibly yummy at a fantastic value!! They also had everything ready for pickup in less than 15 minutes. If you eat there they have a cool Mexican-style fun environment. 👍😎🌮

It wasn’t sizzling and when I asked the waiter, he said food was hot, but it wasn’t. It was watery and became cold in few minutes. When they asked us how was the food, I told them it was cold, nothing was done. I would not go again. Also, they were not offering happy hours on Sunday due to Mother’s Day.

Marginal Mexican food that also offers an Italian menu; odd. Patio is nicer than the food. Staff was good. If looking for atmosphere and not too focused on excellent Mexican, then this place is good.

All bad. Frozen seafood, calamari was gross and clam shells without clams. Gave me a 10 % discount when I was upset about it. Its maddening that this place is not helpful at all, and to wait 15 minutes for a plate like this, forget it. Go to any other seafood/mexican food in simi.

If I could leave no stars it would have been my option went in to eat with my family everything was going well until I told the server that there was a hair in my food and he said it was a long female hair that it could have been mine ( I dont have wavy hair that is dark I have long hair that is a dark blonde hair) He said the owner made the last dish (I ordered the paella) and said that he could have not have dropped the hair there. I work in food service and I own to mistakes done and apologize but the way this server handled things was unprofessional and honestly putting the blame on the customer is crazy to me.
