Great food, great music, and great service. Get a Kona Big Wave beer! Aly was a great server.
Checked this place out on opening weekend and it was awesome. Great atmosphere that’s different from other bars in the area, good food & drinks.
Went opening weekend, this place is awesome. Food , drinks and atmosphere were excellent! Great service , we will be back!
Amazing service, food and atmosphere, had a blast!
Chris is awesome and nick is great
Went there this weekend and the food was delicious. Great drinks, great atmosphere, service was friendly and quick.
Great outdoor bar for the summer, great crowd, server Kaylie did an amazing job, highly recommend
Had a phenomenal time at Bull Smith Tavern. The place is beautiful. They did a great job with the design of this place. We went there for dinner and drinks and everything was fantastic!!! Great service and even better atmosphere!!! Definitely coming back.
Great spot for lunch and dinner! Giant bars with indoor and outdoor space to watch the games. Caught the Yankees game and it was a great spot with plenty of TVs. So great to have a good spot to watch sports and grab some good wings.
Such a fun time! Food is good - drinks are great - company is amazing! Keep up the good work!
Always a fun place to meet friends for a drink and a bite to eat. Great atmosphere and we enjoy the outdoor seating in the summer. Fantastic entertainment and energy in all seasons.
I had a cheese Berger and fries service was good . Met the owner very nice guy Max. Please slow down if driving in the area and watch out for pedestrians and respect neighbors . They have valet parking and taxi service to take to intoxicated individuals home safe check them out great place
Great new place! Love how they have such a nice outdoor space. Dip trio was delicious and the guac was fresh. Fantastic bartenders who make great drinks especially Mike.
Great atmosphere, friendly service. Love the set up and the large outdoor patio. Unable to comment on the menu as i was only there for drinks and dancing.
This place is so nice, clean, and has great service as well as food. Kayla G was my server and she was so professional, helpful, and attentive. Would recommend this to everyone.Tuesday night bingo is a don’t miss!!
Had the best time with my friends this wknd! Ramzi is the best bartender there, make sure to see him and ask for him! 5 star attitude and energy!!
The Bull Smith's Tavern is definitely a welcome addition to the Smithtown downtown experience. The service and the food is exceptional and you can't beat the location!
Really enjoyed our time here! Great indoor and outdoor space to accommodate all seasons. The staff was friendly, and food and drinks exceeded expectations. Can’t wait to return!
Have been going to Bull Smith for a few weeks now and have had nothing but excellent experiences each time. Aly the bartender always goes above and beyond for her customers and makes sure we have a good time!!
I love Bull Smiths! Asked for a unique marg and got a Mikearita and it was amazing and Aly was the most amazing bar tender! You need to try this place!
Cool new local spot. Perfect place for a date night on a weekday. The bartenders were nice and drinks were good.
Had the steak tacos. They came out hot with a tasty guacamole sauce. Steak fries hot as well.
Great spot for live music, a game, date night, or a fun family dinner! So happy to finally have an all around great local place - food, service, atmosphere, and drinks all on point! The menu has classic pub fare options (burger was great!), healthier choices (mango salad was delish!), and even some pastas (I’d rec the ricotta gnocchi). Don’t leave without trying the crispy cheese bites - they’re lightly breaded and don’t leave you feeling too full like regular mozzarella sticks. The servers were all super friendly and accommodating - we felt right at home! We can’t wait to go back and check out some live music as our friends have told us the bands/djs have been awesome. Because the bar opens to a large outside area with tables and couches it’s a great vibe for larger groups too!
Wow. Where do I even begin? There are not enough words in the English language to describe how incredible Bull Smiths Tavern is. The establishment is absolutely impeccable. The service is fantastic, with friendly and accommodating staff. You could eat off the floors in this place it is that clean. I have yet to try the food but I am sure it is outstanding. The night life was everything you could ever ask for for a night out on the town. BST is everything the town needed and more. I look forward to several more visits to this beautiful establishment. Congrats on the new hottest spot in town 👏🏼
I like this place a lot. I thought the food was good as well as the atmosphere. The staff were very nice, our server Megan was sweet and took care of us. I will definitely be returning in the summer for the outside area.
I love this bar! This place is fantastic! Staff = great. Connor the manager is on top! He knows what he’s doing! Security = great! Really good staff. Great cheese sauce!
I went over the summer & the barback Dylan was absolutely incredible. He really made the tavern feel welcoming. I will definitely be back again. Thank you to the Bull Smith Tavern and Dylan for making it such a great experience!
We absolutely love it here! Perfect spot for a drink and a bite, especially with the open garage door concept. Nothing else like it in Smithtown!
Came here to celebrate my brother getting into grad school. Nicollete was our waitress. Had an amazing time. Live music was great, drinks were flowing. Had a great time. 100% would come back just for Nicollete!
I had a super good experience at this restaurant it was an event where they had free burgers the burgers were amazing super good I enjoyed it The appetizers were good they're fountain soda was good it wasn't flat like some other places The server was amazing she took care of us The atmosphere was amazing also I love the vibe I really want to go back one day soon I would recommend this place to anybody I didn't even know about it until I heard about the free burger event on Instagram but I definitely want to check it out again super good place
This place is awesome, it kept the vibe of old croxleys but with an updated enhancement and I think my favorite feature was the bartender Brandon who is an absolute sweetheart! We met him over at Riverhead brew house where he accommodated all our requests and order quickly and with the biggest smile; he is a great bartender and just overall an enjoyable person to deal with!
Nicely redone. Bar opens to the outside which was fun and also a great space. We had drinks outside after dinner. Food was excellent and service was great. There was live music on that Friday and he was very good. Going back for sure and maybe will take the train.
Bull Smiths Tavern may be a hidden gem on Long Island. What drew me to come here tonight was seeing their celebrity appearances they offer, insanely energetic knicks watch parties, and their great food promos. I just had their $1 tacos and let’s say it’s a deal that can’t be beat. My friends and I split a margarita tower and it was nothing short of tasty. There was also a cornhole league going on that we didn’t know about. It gave us a nice little outlet to let out the rest of the energy we had for the day. All the staff was super attentive and I barley had to wait for a new tower once it was empty, plates were quickly removed off the table once empty, and we felt nothing but pure appreciation for the work they have put into building such a great team. We are certainly looking forward to coming back. Especially for the knicks games!
This place is FUN. Was out at Waheeka castle and Google guided me to this place. I had a blast. Partied with locals, danced all night and made friends. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Long Island. Or if you want to get away from the city, this is your spot to save a few bucks yet still have a good ole time.
Bull Smiths is such a different place from what used to be at this location. Its completely redone, open, clean, huge deck with direct bar access, great cocktails, great beer selection, awesome events, comedy, music, celebrity meet and greets, bingo, trivia, games. This is my new local haunt but its worth the travel too. Check it out!
Such a great time @ Bull Smiths tonight. Onion soup burger was delish! Our server and busser were so nice & personable. The whole vibe was friendly and welcoming. Happy to have a neighborhood resteraunt where you feel welcome. Looking forward to going back.
We very much enjoyed our trip to Bull Smiths for Monday wing night. $1 wings, good fresh beer, great atmosphere and friendly personable service from Megan and Nicolette. The restaurant is clean, modern and presentable and the food is top tier, fresh and came out very quickly. I am so excited for the summer spending nights drinking at their bar and Bull Smith’s will be my go to place from now on.
Place came out gorgeous. Really did well renovating a building that’s a staple to this town. The food was amazing, the Philly Cheese Steak is to die for. The drinks were also great, even though there is not a cocktail menu I was informed it was in the works! The happy hour selection is wide, on all draft beer, mixed drinks, and wines. The service was great the bartender was sweet and personable while she was also making the drinks for the restaurant. Overall great experience and will be coming back especially to check out the live music and dj’s they offer!
Went on a Tues, they have trivia night on Tues and Cornhole plus $1 tacos. Place was hopping for a Tues night. Entire bar is open to the outside patio so when inside you can see all going on outside.
When a new restaurant opens, I'm usually expecting the worse. Today we were a party of 10. What a great experience we had today! The food was great, and so we're the drinks. Yeah there were a few hiccups. But that's to be expected with a new restaurant. The manger came over a few times ( we didn't ask to see her ) just to make sure was okay, and it was. Everyone enjoyed the food and some of the unique menu items. One criticism, if I may. If you order the Trio dip, maybe a refill of chips should be included? We asked for more chips and were told that we'd have to put in another order. Maybe I'm being petty? But, the price is $13- and we didn't want more dips. Which were very good. We look forward to coming back.
We started going during the NY Mets watch parties and was able to get photos and signatures from the great players that we met. Our favorite so for was HoJo - Howard Johnson , he was very friendly and down to earth. This is a great place to go and enjoy the crowd and atmosphere.
After our plans to celebrate my daughter’s 25th birthday in Florida were cancelled due to hurricane Milton, we decided on happy hour at Bull Smith’s! Couldn’t have had a better time. Apps and drinks were great. Ava our server was amazing and did an incredible job. I reserved a fire pit area for my daughter and friends to hang out at which was also a great idea. I was allowed to bring in a cake which the staff graciously cut too. Great time was had by all!! We will definitely be going back in the future. Thanks so much for helping make my daughter’s birthday special!
This is Long Island's hidden treasure! What a great time we had, I got to meet Max and his team, they are all great! Their chicken wings are fabulous and their beer selections to die for! Highly recommended if you want to have a good time with friends and see a good baseball game! In one word, Fantastic! Merci!!
This place is such a fun and positive atmosphere. The food is good but I’d come back just to support these people. It’s so inviting and the people make it feel like we are all friends. People were so supportive and made it their mission to make you feel like you belonged. Anthony the friendly bartender, Megan the sweetest waitress. This business is an example of what we need in this world. Unfortunately Baltimore lost but it was a great evening. Come to Bullsmith’s to lift your spirit
We have been waiting for so long for something to open in this location and I am so happy with how it came out! The bar is a very cool design becoming an indoor/ outdoor bar on nice days. The live music is a great touch that gives it a Nashville vibe. Great weekend spot and the bartenders Brian and Mike went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Will be back for sure!
Where to start! The renovation is beautiful and the open concept was done perfectly. We were seated immediately and had the wings, chicken tacos and Nashville hot chicken sliders to share. Everything was delicious and the server was on top of it with the food and our drinks. My biggest pet peeve is waiting forever for a cocktail and this place was super quick. Very well oiled machine for just opening. Looking forward to going back soon!
Went to bull smiths tonight with my family and it was awesome! We sat outside at the bar, the vibes were great and service was spot on the bartenders were amazing and so helpful with recommendations! I got a raspberry margarita to drink & my sister got the strawberry fields, both so good. We got the wings & pretzel for an appetizer and I got the steak tidbit for dinner! The food was great and we will definitely be back again!!
Couldn’t be happier to have this open recently by me. They did an amazing renovation job on the old Croxleys. The venue is open concept and full of light. Love the garage door windows and outside bar seating. Food I’ve tried so far had been solid bar food. Great deal on taco Tuesdays. Best part of my visits have been the amazing staff. Young, energetic and friendly it’s a welcoming and refreshing scene. It’s already a regular stop. Only suggestion would be adding some happy hour food specials

Attended a baby shower in the upstairs room. The place was beautiful especially like the chandelier and the wallpaper. They did a great job decorating for Halloween as well. The food was very good. Only complaint is they did not have any changing table in the upstairs or downstairs. I understand if they usually have only adults who go to have a drink but it would be a great addition to their bathroom that also has no counter space. Had to change my newborn on my legs on the floor in the bathroom. Other people at the event were telling me to change the baby on the dining table or the chair... I would never do that where people are eating. So again, if you can add a changing table in at least 1 bathroom I am sure it will help at least few of your customers especially when there is an event. Great job otherwise!
Came here last Thursday with my husband. May I say I never leave reviews on restaurants but this place was so good I just had too. Firstly me and my husband were greeted right away by a nice worker. We decided to sit by the bar where we then found out about the deal… It was $5 martinis and $5 salads. I was struggling a little to pick out a martini so I asked the bartender to just make me whatever he then proceeded to ask me what I like most about drinks and said he knew the perfect martini to make me… and he was spot on. The $5 salads was a great addition too, I decided to get a baby arugula salad with shrimp. The salad was a great size portion and the shrimp was seasoned well. Parking was iffy but with the deal, taste of the meal, and chat with the workers it’s definitely worth it.
Decided to give this place a try after hearing some good reviews from friends. I arrived earlier than my dinner companions, so I sat at bar and had a spicy Paloma to drink which was fresh and tasty, while I waited for my friends I looked over the menu and asked the bartender about some of the appetizers, she recommended some of her favorites and I went for the mussels which had the option of a couple of different sauces, which all sounded good but I went with the marinara. Delicious. They seem to have a lively happy hour with people cheering for the Mets and Yankees. But this time my friends arrived we sat at a table as they had live music which we enjoy, service was friendly quick and efficient. We split a giant “Bull” shaped pretzel and had some wings. Which everyone enjoyed. I had a herb crusted salmon which was very good, two my friends had burgers and my other friend had a steak with mashed potatoes. Everything looked great, and they all said how good the food was. We decided to do another round of after dinner drinks on their outdoor patio which had couches and fire pits and it was perfect weather for enjoying outdoors. Finished the night with a frozen espresso martini which I might go back for that alone. They had daily specials so I’ll be back soon to check those out.
Last night my family and I went to Bull Smith’s Tavern to celebrate my brother and sister’s birthday, and we had such a great time! My parents and brother really enjoyed the sirloin steak with mashed potatoes, and my sister and I loved the pasta with bolognese. We sat outside, enjoyed some appetizers before our entrees, and even played bingo while we ate, which made it extra fun. The drinks were delicious, the food was great, and the overall vibe was really enjoyable. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff and instantly felt at home. The ambiance was cozy and stylish, perfect for both a casual dinner or a special occasion. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, and every item we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We started with the bang bang shrimp, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the main course, the steak tidbits were a standout—tender, fresh, and complemented by a delicious side of fries. The staff genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience, and it made all the difference. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
I came here on a hunch since my destination would be Port Jefferson, and honestly, I don't regret it. The food was super delicious, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I arrived just as a group of five very talented young people were performing, all their music and performances carried out solely by their voices. A group that improvises and interacts with their audience is very refreshing to my ears, and I honestly think they should be recruited by a talent scout. Thanks for the experience, the place is more than recommended.
This was my second time at bull smiths tavern since they opened up last year. I came a few days ago on Tuesday for the $1 tacos and happy hour and everything came out phenomenally. Staff greeted me instantly at the door and the bartenders made my experience much more pleasing. Highly recommend to anyone who’s local.
This place has incredible food and is certainly worth the money. The atmosphere makes eating even more enjoyable, and we also loved the service. We will definitely be coming back; it's now one of our go-to spots.
My wife and I had the opportunity to surprise my best friend Chris at his new job and we're so glad we made it happen! Bull Smith's was a lively bar that had such an engaging atmosphere. The drinks Chris made for us were delicious and unique. The live music was bumping with throwbacks that made us hit the dance floor. The outside area was also great, filled with plenty of seats, some games and a guy making fresh sliders on the grill! Overall we loved our experience and will definitely be back to specifically get some more of Chris' drinks and enjoy the vibes!

Our waitress was very attentive. We sat at an outdoor table, so it was a little bit noisy.
Very nice place to hang out the outside seating is great. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side but overall would recommend.
Burger was very good as was the service. Only complaint was that I was set to order something from the Dinner Menu at 1:00pm and was told the only menu available was the Brunch Menu till 4:30pm. You should be able to order from the Dinner Menu at noon.
Gets a bit noisy in the evening, so can be difficult to talk, but really good food, just enough parking. Advice is come for early dinner.
They did a nice job on the place. Atmosphere is great. The bartenders were nice and friendly and were welcoming. Food was a little disappointing. Had the Nashville hot chicken which wasn't hot at all and the ratio of bun to chicken was not in our favor. Bbq Korean niblets were just ok. On the other hand the fish and chips was delicious. Fish just melted in your mouth.
Renovated and it looks nice indoors and the outside also has some nice seating area for when the temperatures are right. Service was good. Food options were decent, sliders, Mac and cheese were ok. Price is on the higher side for some of the food options. Would have been easier if they had a drink menu or beer menu. Not bad overall to stop in for a drink.

Went here last week with a group of buddies. Wings were great, beer was cold and tasty (clean lines) and interior esthetics were on point. Service was just OK. Could have been a tad more attentive. But all in all, I'd go back. They did a great job with the establishment.
Decided to try since it is very close to where I live. Very nice renovation and bar area was very busy at 5 pm on a Friday. We were one of the few people in Dining area. A simple order of two plates of steak tidbits took approximately 40 minutes to deliver. Waitress was very pleasant and said she was new and it was her error. A bit later manager blamed a large party on patio area for the delay ??.Eventually got our order and it was fine. They apologized and made a deduction on the check. Place is lively, in a good spot and has potential. I would advise owner to hire some seasoned experienced staff since most of the staff seemed very young. Will give it another during a weekday evening.

Off the bat, I would call this place a sports bar instead of tavern. I know they just opened and it can take time to iron things out, but man, they need to buy a big iron. The atmosphere is oppressively loud, to the point that staff have to project if you want to understand what they are saying. Aestheticly speaking, the building and interior lack anything special that makes it feel unique. Final take: If you just want to go to "another sports bar" for a change of scenery, then you might enjoy it.
Was really looking forward to the grand opening, and it was a little disappointing. Service was inconsistent. The main room is wide open and a bit loud. Outdoors is much nicer in warm weather. Draft beer selection is limited. Some food portions were, let’s say, underwhelming.
Food was not good, drinks were average. Overall, my experience was made by our server Kiernan, he was friendly and extremely accommodating to my table. The restaurant was filled with joyous people enjoying the game! Overall a great crowd. If you come to this restaurant ask for Kiernan and come enjoy drinks!
The food was good. I had tacos which were excellent. My wife got a chicken sandwich which she liked. We also ordered wings which were a little over priced. 15$ for 7 rather small wings. (Quantity was not listed on menu. ) the place was a little to loud with their music and they had a dj setting up in there for some reason. No one ever asks for a dj in these places. The wait staff although friendly wasn't very attentive. Took over 20 minutes to get a second beer. Tho I saw her hanging out behind the counter. And the bus boy was the one to ask us if we needed to go boxes . This place has potential. The Food is good. The place is nice. Just doesn't need to be so loud and the waitresses should be a little more attentive. Will Def come back tho. Aside from the wings the prices were more than reasonable
My hubby and I were shocked at the cost of a Cuervo margarita at $17. Then we looked at the specialty cocktail menu and everything was $18. These are prices that you would find at an upscale steakhouse not at a tavern. I don’t know where they get off charging those kind of prices, but we will not be back. The tacos were tiny but tasty. The service was mediocre. I don’t see this place lasting. Too bad bc it’s a nice looking space.
We arrived at 5:30, and were seated immediately. But, it took 15 min (about 5:45). to put in a drink order. We ordered apps & entrees shortly after. About 35 minutes later I had to track down the waitress to ask if we'd be getting the apps, they came out shortly. The " Jumbo" wings are really pretty standard sized wings, only 7 of them to an order, but they we're very good. The Macadamia Oysters unfortunately were Ice cold. Our waitress was very nice & said she'd remove the charge. The meals came out about 15 min later, more than an hour after we arrived. My Nashville chicken sliders were pretty good and my son liked his fried chicken sandwich. My wife ordered the mango Burrata salad with shrimp. She was a bit disappointed as there really wasn't much Burrata cheese at all. The atmosphere was pretty good. The old bar had a bit more charm, but they opened it all up to add much more bar space. However opening the room up has made it very loud. I am so glad they will have live music, too many venues don't. However they have to figure out the sound dynamics. I don't know if it was up to the players, or it was the house controlling the sound, but it was a bit loud and boomy, a very live room made it hard to hear. All in all, it's been open a couple weeks with a very young staff; but our waitress was nice & we will be hoping they improve the service as they move forward. It will be nice to have a place to grab a bite, a drink & listen to live music.
Came here for dinner on a Friday around 8pm. Had a few drinks, while the dinner menu was a bit pricey the food came out good. Service was a little spotty, no cutlery or napkins if served at the bar and difficult to get a refill. The real chaos seems to start as the security arrives at the entrance and the carousel of Ubers start to surge around 9:30p. The bartenders change to what seems are people even younger than those they’re serving. The dinner/restaurant menus disappear and the drink prices raise up. $8 beers are now $10, cans reach up to $12, the rack drinks come out as they cash in on the new arrivals. By 10pm, Bull Smith’s drops the restaurant act and turns into a full-blown nightlife circus. If you came for dinner, finish your drink and escape before the $12 cans and Vodka Cran crowd take over.
The steak tidbits were good and the happy hour isn't bad. The outdoor set up is really nice. What I didn't like is that the menu only has the cash price listed and I was charged extra for the credit card price even though I paid with cash!

Went on Sunday 2/15 for a meet and greet with Casey Cizikas from the NY Islanders. We had four in our group. It was pretty easy meeting Casey so that was cool but as far as the service it was horrible. The wait staff was nice but in no way were they remotely ready for this large crowd. Food was next to impossible to order let alone receive it after you ordered. I waited over an hour for a burger then just left. I told them I was leaving to go eat somewhere else. Who serves beer in plastic cups? I mean really I felt like I was back in HS. This place has potential but if Matty Martin is coming in next weekend they will need at least 5 more cooks and 5 or 6 more wait staff. We are going to meet Matt Martin then eating elsewhere unless they get their S together
I usually don't like to complain because I've worked in the industry for 20+ yrs. I sat at the bar and to their defense by service bar, which I took into consideration. But every time my beer was empty, it took 5-10 mins to fill. I asked someone to close.my check and they told me sorry they weren't a bartender tonight and never told anyone behind the bar. I'm still waiting as I write this. Thankfully, there was a blonde server who got the attention of a bart3nder for me
The food was ok, and the doors were open so we encountered too many bugs, and to be clear the menu says “crispy Jumbo Wings” and honestly there was nothing jumbo about them. Nor was the serving jumbo. And at $15 for an order I guess they were referring to the price. Jumbo wings. Nope. Just wings.
Food was just ok. My sliders tasted like Jack Daniel's BBQ from the refrigerated food section at supermarket. Also, bun to meat ratio was off. Too much bread. Don't plan on going back.
It has been beautifully renovated very spacious and pretty however the menu is Blah...not a lot of vegan or vegetarian options The service on Aug 8th was horrible ..I sat at the bar with my friend at 5 pm...not crowded..3 bartenders who basically ignored us....I won't be back any time soon
Place looks great. But drink prices are insane. $11.25 for a highnoon. $15 for a redbull vodka. No bars in smithtown are that high. Wont last with price’s like that.
Great vibes with indoor/outdoor areas. I’ve never encountered a more rude bar staff. Not one time did “Ramsey” ask us if we needed anything. Right from the start, we had to ask for menus. Then had to ask to order drinks, to order food, etc. We only knew his name was Ramsey because every time a runner brought food over she had to yell and scream his name to get his attention. Food was mediocre.
Steak Frites $28 small portion McDonald’s fries. Steak tidbits awful. Buffalo wings heavily breaded Waitresses on cell phones. No identity. Doesn’t know if it wants to be a sports bar or a restaurant. Don’t expect a quiet dinner place is loud especially during tonight’s CFB championship games. Expected a lot more for the $200 plus I dropped for two of us
I felt bad giving it just one star but if I’m being honest and have no feelings it should get that. We didn’t go on opening day, figured it is best to wait a couple days. We also went at an odd hour. Like 2:30/3pm and it worked, the place only had a few couples at the bar and only one table seated! We figured we scored. Our experience attempting to order a drink put us off on ordering food… My husband asks for a drink menu. They do not have one. At a “tavern” that underwent that kind of renovation I’d expect a drink menu but they’re new, so ok. He asks for an old fashioned. Poor girl looked like a deer in headlights. My husband asked for Angels Envy - which they either didn’t have or were out of. She wasn’t sure. He asked for another brand - no. Finally he asked for Bulleit which took a while to find but she got it. As she starts to attempt to make it, several minutes go by and finally she comes over and says we don’t have any bitters. So we said no thank you. I asked for white wine and she didn’t know what they had. Someone came over and told us Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio but not knowing what kind bc again no drink menu and bc my husband couldn’t get his drink we asked for a minute. After observing the bartender pour a premade bottled Bloody Mary mix for another patron we looked at each other and quietly slinked out the door. Yipes it was quite a Hindenburg. I was so excited for this place too. Figured they did all those renovations it would be next level.
I made a 6:30 reservation and was seated at a wobbly array of 3, 2-person tables, situated together. Someone recently wiped them down and didn’t bother to dry them so they were wet with menus on top. If your business is open air style and you wet wipe a table, maybe dry it before seating people at it. Also manage your tables and the adjusters on the bottom so they’re not wobbly. The next issue at that table is that the sun is beaming in the window behind it and shining in the eyes of 50% of the people in that party, maybe you take notice and 1. put a shade on the window or 2. Don’t sit people at it. The place is excessively loud, as they have a DJ blasting music in sports bar type place with no acoustics and an outdoor space with no DJ. Admittedly they had a mostly full house with some sort of party for the horse race going on. The waitress showed up at 6:43, approximately 13 minutes after we were seated and asked us for our order, she asked if we’d like to order food now, and since we had plenty of time to peruse the damp menus we chose to order figuring we may not see here again anytime soon. Who would’ve thought that this would be the most accurate occurrence of the entire experience? The first round of margaritas tasted like iced down tequila and yellowing limes. We returned them in hopes of having actual margarita tasting margaritas. They did bring back better tasting margaritas subsequently but completely forgot a drink for one of the people in our party of 6. Only when reminded that he didn’t get it did they remember to bring it. We primarily ordered burgers and a salad, with one order for a buffalo chicken pizza, to which we were informed they were completely out of stock on. But no suggestions for similar items were offered by the waitress. At approximately 7:30pm we had not received food or a revisit from the waitress with regards to maybe seeing if we needed a drink refill or anything at all. The only time the waitress came over was when she brought some sort of ice cream brownie combo as an apology for not having our meal ready, she said the manager sent it. I politely declined the item but she left it anyway and it remained uneaten there. I had to get up from my seat and locate the manager who was dressed similar to a patron with no professional appeal whatsoever. He was polite and receptive and apologetic and on two subsequent occasions came over assured us that our food was coming out, although it took an additional 15 min to receive the cheeseburgers and salad. I mentioned the dessert that was abandoned on our table and he was surprised at its existence and said he didn’t and wouldn’t have sent that, and he came over and removed it. During the prior 30 minutes or so the place emptied out approximately 50% of the prior patrons as the horse race was over. The table next to us who also had a party of 6 was complaining similarly and were being told by the same waitress how it was not her fault and that she was overloaded with tables and doing too much work herself as well as now my table was causing their table to be delayed. She was observed multiple times crying at the bar I guess due to the stress of her life choices. I mean come on, you’re not defending the country in a foreign land, you’re waiting on tables, get yourself together. The manager told us he would take 50% off our bill, which I said was nice and all but i had no problem paying the full amount if I could get my food in 50% of the time. I explained that I’d never visit this place again and that he’s losing a customer and anyone else I can warn to not waste your time going there. Let me also point out the pathetic parking situation that includes what appears to be mostly employees parked in the closest spots. Have your employees park in the train lot and let the people footing the bill park close but I’m sure this notion goes hand in hand with all the other lack of consideration shown throughout the experience.
Let’s start off with what is good… Still not sure if it was the right move to completely renovate the place… it was a nice looking older building before, old style small tile floors, half walls with glass partitions, drink shelfs… it had an old tap room style feel to it… but the new building is very nicely done, big open floor plan, great looking bar accessible to the outside patio as well, very nice outdoor patio area. The service we had was fantastic… we were seated immediately. Our server was Brittney and she was an absolute professional and knows what she is doing. She got to the table for the drink order in under 4 minutes… checked in on us often but not over bearing. She was clearly annoyed at the speed at which her orders were coming out and apologized for the wait on the appetizers ( we weren’t complaining… but it was taking a long time for apps). We watched closely everything going on in the dining room… there was a clear disconnect from kitchen to dining room. Server helpers shouldn’t be going from table to table asking if you got the nachos ( or whatever else they might have been holding ) they should know where it’s supposed to be. We watched that one plate of nachos circle the entire dining room go back into the kitchen and comeback out with the same routine all over again till they finally figured it out. We lucked out with Brittney… she was on her game 100%. The not so good and most important part… The food… Appetizers… We ordered the Korean Bbq riblets and Macadamia encrusted fried oysters… The Korean BBQ riblets, not sure how the plate could be hot as hell but the ribs themselves be barely warm… whatever… that wasn’t even the part that bothered me… they were just ok… my wife and daughter were equally unimpressed… nothing about them was even remotely Asian flavored and as a matter of fact it was bothering me the whole time that they tasted extremely familiar… and then it hit me… I know this sauce… it’s sweet baby rays, I use it all the time at home… I would almost guarantee it… maybe some extra spice thrown in… but I know that flavor for sure. The Macadamia encrusted fried oysters with mango chutney, Very long description for sure… they were an absolute disappointment. Not even warm, very tiny, mostly breading that had no trace of macadamia at all in its makeup. Yes it’s fish but the smell shouldn’t be off putting either. The mango chutney should’nt be put on with shovel… half a teaspoon full would have sufficed. My daughter had a fried chicken sandwich that she described as “generic fried chicken sandwich” when I asked her how it was … she is easy to please and tiny… anytime I ask her how something is she usually says I like it or it’s good… this time I got… it’s a generic fried chicken sandwich and… the bun to meat ratio is ridiculous… the bun is huge for how small the chicken is and it’s dry… like I said… she’s tiny… and the sandwich seemed small to her. Me and the wife split 2 different orders of slider and an order of fries, Hot fried chicken sliders and the Jack Daniel’s Bbq beef sliders ( that wasn’t the real name more on that in a second ), Hot fried chicken sliders… nothing to write home about other than the fact that once again if it’s going to be the smallest piece of meat you could find USE A SMALLER BUN… the meat gets lost in the bun altogether… there were trace elements of slaw but hardly enough to get a taste of and the sauce was nearly non existent… again… dry. The short rib sliders… my wife tried these before I did… I could see the look on her face… not pleased… I said so what do you think… she said I think they pulled it out of the fridge section at the supermarket… it’s Jack Daniel’s Bbq beef in a tub… she can be more critical than me… she was not wrong… it s exactly how I would have described it… it’s ok for a Tuesday night when you worked late and have to nuke something quick so you can eat… not for a restaurant. Last thought… Valet parking unnecessary… nice place, step up your food game… it shouldn’t feel like a hotel bar restaurant at an airport layover.

The bartenders were rude and overcharged drinks. One of them cursed under their breath about my friend and also put pickle juice in my drink.
Last night, we went to Bull Smith Tavern for the NY Met Party, but it turned out to be a ripoff. Our orders took an unreasonable amount of time, and we were charged for drinks we never received. It's our fault for not asking the price of draft beer beforehand, but paying $10 for a beer in a solo cup is outrageous. If you decide to go there…get the beer tower for $40.
Really wanted to love this place, but it was absolutely horrible. Service was terrible took 25 min to get drinks. The bar couldn’t make three of the drinks we asked for. Food took close to an hour and came out cold. One of the kids meals came out on a hot skillet with no warning that it was sizzling hot. Really hope this place gets it together.
Our server was absolutely terrible.. Her personality was ok but her service skills are terrible.. she would come to the table take 2 or 3 orders then run away.. we were a table of 8.. At one point she took everyone's meal order but mine & my buddies & didn'tsee her for 20 minutes... we told her slow down & approach everybody before leaving the table.. in short I will NEVER EAT AT BULLSMITHS AGAIN.. The manager Mike was trying to make us all happy & do the right thing but we were all unhappy & frustrated. Thanks for trying mike... You guys need to train your server staff to be more attentive... In my opinion if you don't improve your service skills you will fail.. This coming from a man who go's out every weekend trying different places for the past 20 years. I hope you can improve.
Place is terrible service Worst ever .Ordered coffee amd dessert 2x been there both time waited 45 min for waitress served iice cold coffe.Teerible management all kid workers hanging out there with freinds.Place iwill be out of busimess by next year. The owner should know wjats going on there.0 everything Save your money better off at 711 down block
My friends and I wanted to have a fun night together so we decided to try this place. I tried to order a drink and got denied with my REAL ID while they were claiming it was fake ID. I even told them to call the cops and they still refused. They called over the manager who was extremely condescending towards our table. After having to prove my age using graduation photos they finally accepted but out of complete embarrassment and lack of respect we decided to leave. I do not expect a response since they only choose to comment on positive reviews. Please do better!!
First and foremost, the food was horrid. The plates came out hot, yet the food on it was cold and not tasty whatsoever and each individual item was of poor quality. I want to go into detail on each dish but it's just not worth it, try at your own peril. I basically threw 70 bucks out and I'll just never go back, its that simple. Hopefully they fix whatever is wrong in the kitchen because what is there now is downright bad and unappealing. It is definitely gorgeous, they've done a great job of making the space look amazing with the renovations.
My wife and I went to bulls tavern at around 4:30 to have a drink and checkout the renovation . We live in Smithtown and go out 2-3 weekly to dine . We sat in the outside seating area and was not greeted so I went to bar an ordered a few drinks . I had to wait 10 minutes because they had no money in register to give me change . I then decided to order another drink went to bar and 3 bartenders totally ignored me The girl bartender made a drink for herself and went to other end of bar and was having a great time with her friends . I was then calling the other bartender a male for help he made eye contact but no help . Then another employee called him over to discuss something He was reight in front of me as I am asking him for help and he just walked away . I then looked over to my wife and she says let’s get the hell out of here . I then go to speak with another employee to let him know I will never ever return . He apologized but then when my wife and I were leaving I see him laughing . This place will be Out of business in less than 1 year do not waste your time. The owner needs to hire a manager that understands customer service . I was a regional manager at a very large company and the most important part of a successful business is customer service . Start training your whole staff to respect the customer . I was telling a friend about my experience and they said they know they waited over 2 hours for food but they were compensated for bad service . Keep giving away food because you have poor management. The owner should spend some time there he will see why he is not making a profit
Bull Smith’s Tavern: A Monumental Disappointment My recent visit to Bull Tavern was nothing short of a complete disaster, leaving me utterly unsatisfied and profoundly disappointed. If I could give zero stars, I would. Our evening started with appetizers that set a grim precedent. The wings were clearly microwaved—some bites were warm, others disturbingly cold, a tell-tale sign of shoddy preparation. The nachos fared no better; there was a minuscule amount of chips on the plate, and what was there was mushy and unappetizing. However, the real travesty began after the appetizers. We placed an order for three burgers, a fish and chips, and a wrap. After an agonizing two-hour wait, our food still hadn't arrived. We repeatedly questioned our waitress, who offered the flimsy excuse that "the kitchen was busy." This explanation was insulting, as a quick glance around the tavern revealed only a handful of tables with appetizers, and absolutely no other food being served in our vicinity or even further back in the establishment. It was evident the kitchen was anything but "busy" with actual orders. Completely fed up and famished, we decided to cut our losses. We paid for our drinks, appetizers and left, feeling utterly cheated and incredibly hungry. To add insult to injury, the women's restroom was in a deplorable state. The bathroom door was completely broken, making it impossible to close and leaving no privacy whatsoever. This lack of basic facility maintenance is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the overall management of this establishment. In summary, Bull Tavern delivered an experience that was a masterclass in how not to run a bar and restaurant. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy long waits, terrible food, and a complete lack of basic amenities.
My son comes here with his buddies and suggested that me and him try it tonight. If you want to be ignored for an 1 hour and 45 minutes just stay home with the wife. Downstairs was like 3/4 full upstairs was a quarter full. Not that busy. Service non-existent. Saw our server once and that was when she took our order as we had been sitting there for 20 minutes just staring at the wall. Had to flag her down to get the drink we ordered after another long wait. An hour later we got our food and we took it to go. My first time they are maybe it was an off night. Might revisit not sure when.
Me and my friend went the other day. It took so long to get a hamburger diner by my house is better than us. The prices are outrageous. Come on little mozzarella sticks that expensive that’s the price of a dinner just to get an appetizer then if you get a drink a burger and an appetizer, it’s a lot of money. I go to a lot of bars to eat dinner and I won’t be coming back to that one. I got a big burger and fries and mozzarella sticks and it only cost me a little over $20. Sorry but won’t be back not worth my money.
Over an hour and still no food. Clearly short staffed the kitchen and no one tells you that when you check in. I was quickly given a table but nothing but drinks that took 20 mins to get. No offer of bread, chips, nothing. Just sat there waiting. Considered leaving 3 times, may still leave without food.
Food, service, and prices are awful. Constant changes in management are telling of a larger issue. I suspect that they have underaged people drinking here a lot of the time as well. Waste of money and time just don’t go.
The price to quality ratio is horribly off. Manager had unprofessional behavior with female wait staff and the music was LOUD for a mostly empty establishment. ***Edited to say that the auto response from the establishment is a disappointment. The food was NOT good and the bartenders were bad (and I suspect underage barbacks being told to make drinks.) an auto review for such Inappropriate behavior with young women is disgusting and I will never return.
Bull Smith’s is the Little Vincent’s of bars - all hype with nothing to back it up. The drinks are noticeably more expensive than the places I usually go to and the music is obnoxiously loud. I like music, but this is the first time I’ve ever had to step outside a bar because the music was too loud for my ears to handle. The bartenders were too busy making conversation with people they knew and totally ignored me for almost 10 minutes. Overall not worth coming back to.
