Great experience - food was amazing
Best food in all of snowmass, Ivo gave us amazing service and recommendations, and the food tasted fantastic.
Elizabeth and the Chef were amazing! Unfortunately we didn’t get all of our meal, in pictures, just dessert and dessert cocktails. We had combinations of 4 different rolls, all were amazing!
Great sushi!
Great place for a casual dinner or date night…the food is amazing, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is pleasant. One drawback is the overall restaurant space is tiny making the environment seem super tight, especially when dining at the sushi bar. Our waiter and the sushi chefs were very friendly and polite. The quality of the food is top notch. We will definitely return again.
Some of the best sushi I've had in Colorado. They really care about the ingredients and it is very fresh from sushi to seared tuna to miso soup. We loved it so much. Our server was amazing and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!
Food is beautifully prepared and plated, a real treat to eat. For the sushi lover, the menu is on point with seasonal options and the expected availabilities. Service was friendly but a bit rushed, though it was a busy night. Staff is happy to answer questions. Trust the menu and server recommendations and you’ll leave a happy customer. Great to have this location in Snowmass Village!
We had a great experience with my friends’ birthday celebration. The food was delicious . Favorites were the Wagyu Tataki , shrimp hanabi and chicken lollipops. All the rolls were very good too . We loved the cocktails , I would say go for the Hibiskiss . Kudos to the staffs and the chefs. They did an amazing job . P.S: Don’t forget to finish it off with their delicious desserts 🤤
The best Japanese food I’ve ever had! In the mountains, there are not that many restaurants to choose from that are Japanese, but this was easily one of the best meals I had while traveling. The restaurant is in a small village community called Snowmass; the area is mostly residential buildings compared to Aspen or Vail, which have much more attractions. The food was made perfectly and placed well as well. The Wagyu Tataki was absolutely delicious and beautiful. Sushi was the best we ever had as well, with favorites like Dynamo, Austin, and Blake. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone of all ages and tastes. 10/10
Stopped by for a quick drink while I was waiting to pick up our to-go order. We've noticed that Kenichi always looks full every night, so we wanted to try the food out. The sushi did not disappoint, neither did the service while I was waiting to pick up!
We were so delighted to eat at this wonderful restaurant while vacationing. EVERY course was truly a work of art and was such a flavor filled experience. The dynamo roll was fabulous. The wagyu beef was phenomenal! The service was great; gracious service at the sushi bar. So very happy to be pampered while we were away!
Great food and service. Perfect place to spend New Year’s Eve at.
I had an amazing experience at Kenichi. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming with traditional Japanese decor and soft lighting. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Adams & Hanna were the best! For food, I ordered the Pineapple Teriyaki Kushiyaki Chicken & Tempura Shrimp. It was delicious. I highly recommend Kenichi for anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine and a cozy atmosphere.
Excellent food, especially the wagyu tataki.
Sorry guys, the sushi was so delicious that we ate it all before taking a picture. Here is a picture of some fresh aspen water.
Great time! Love the decor, service is great, amazing food always, very expensive but it is close to aspen :)
They were peering over my shoulder as I calculated the prices. They didn’t have my favorite fried chicken but it was very food good.
This is one of the best restaurants in Snowmass. The service is great, the atmosphere is lively, and the Sushi is top notch. Be sure to make reservations.
Thank you Chef Go and crew for an excellent meal and time celebrating God’s provision for us and moving into our new home! Best meal and vibe I’ve had in ages. Top notch!!
Dear foodie readers…if you are in Snowmass go try Kenichi…I don’t know if it’s my body requesting salt after a long day of skiing, but I always crave soy sauce on our ski trips…is that just me? Well anyway, everyone was too tired from a long day of skiing to join us, so it ended up just being my hubs and I…we were seated at the bar, since we did not have reservations (highly recommend), but it was perfect…the bartender was great, so friendly and helpful with some recommendations…we had the veg yaki soba…it’s a huge portion, enough to share, was delicious…we also got the eggplant, was so different, very tasty…as for rolls we tried the dynamo roll, along with the yellowtail roll…both amazing…we really enjoyed it, hit the spot after a fantastic day of skiing.
Absolutely incredible spot. Sit at the bar and you’ll have a great time. Craig and DJ were incredibly attentive and very entertaining. We’ll be back!
Top of the line ingredients, prepared flawlessly. Traditional nigiri to modern sashimi creations…the freshness and flavors shine. Go for the real grated wasabi. Worth it.
Great sushi and great atmosphere. Check this place out. Can be very busy during winter and summer.
This is our favorite special spot to eat as a local SMV family. the food is consistently amazing, staff is also consistent and are knowledgeable. Its pricey but almost any nice meal is with cost of living here!
We ate here after a wonderful ski trip. Alyssa our server was phenomenal and very personable. She made great recommendations on the food.
Took my father here and was able to get seats at the bar on a Saturday night. Had a fabulous time and were extremely taken care of by DJ and the manager behind the bar!! Highly recommend! Not a bad dish/ drink the house and a beautiful atmosphere. Thanks!!
We had the most wonderful service combined with a an unbelievable Sake Sommelier by the manager Nash. The Sake pairing with the miso black cod and amazing “Hot Rock combo” was exciting and delicious! This is now our favorite restaurant in Snowmass CO and the surrounding area! Sincere thanks to all the staff and outstanding chefs that made our anniversary a wonderful experience!
I report that the food was outstanding but our waiter was insulting, rude, demeaning and absurd. To sit down in a high-end, high-dollar Japanese sushi restaurant in the Aspen region, and have a surly, scruffy young waiter start correcting me immediately was appalling. When I asked if they had mussels he said, "Sir, we are a traditional Japanese restaurant." When I asked if they had squid he said, "As I said before, we are traditional Japanese"-- as if my request were so ridiculous. I've eaten sushi in Japan for Pete's sake. I asked about the eel roll, which he said is just eel; I asked if they could prepare it as a caterpillar with avocado, and again he admonished me. Wow. Super-good fish. Maguro was outstanding. They did make me a caterpillar. Rolls were expensive and worth the spend. Where do they get this wait staff? I've eaten at their sister restaurant in Carbondale and would certainly choose to spend money there instead of Kenichi. Five jaded stars.
I came with my girlfriend and had a great experience. We sat at the bar, and both bartenders were attentive, giving great food recommendations (do yourself a favor and try the Blake roll). Additionally, we felt the items were priced fairly and were not overly expensive.
Amazing food, drinks and especially customer service. If you can get Mark as your server, you are in for a treat. Be sure to try the Eggplant Dengaku.
I have been here so much that the waiter all know me the food is so amazing I could taste it right know 10/10
Kenichi Snowmass delivers an incredible dining experience every time! The sushi is always fresh and creative, and the atmosphere is the perfect balance of upscale and laid-back. DJ and Hudson at the bar will make your visit unforgettable. If you’re in Snowmass, this spot is a must-visit!
Hidden gem in Snowmass — don’t trust the low stars Honestly I’m confused why this place has such low ratings, because the sushi here was really good. I have pretty high standards when it comes to sushi (I eat it often and I’m picky about freshness and quality), and everything we ordered was impressive. The uni was incredibly fresh and creamy with that clean ocean flavor (no weird aftertaste at all), and the o-toro was unreal — buttery, rich, and melted instantly. The rest of the rolls and nigiri were also on point. Great fish quality, good rice texture, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Service was solid and the overall vibe was exactly what you’d want after a day on the mountain. If you’re in Snowmass and craving sushi, don’t overthink it — this place is absolutely worth it.
Nick & Sang wonderful cooks… thank you I recommend the Blake Roll… so tasty ! Hawaiian roll is also a great option And you can’t miss the Kenichi special!
Reasonably priced. Tasty food. Nothing extravagant but reasonably good. Nice interior design. Be careful the “plant based” items are not vegan.
The food is really good, ambiance is nice and it is in a great spot in Snowmass village. However it is way overpriced (even considering Aspen/Snowmass pricing). I paid over 400$ for a family of four ! (2 alcoholic drinks, 2 sodas, 3-4 appetizers, sushi and 2 tiny desserts). The Mega Salmon roll was the best. Service was ok.
Great food and dine-in service. However we thought it a little odd that 20% gratuity was charged for a pickup order.
DJ, our bartender and server, was fantastic. Food was a bit pricey, but it is on par for Snowmass. Some of the best sushi we have had
Way way over priced for what is offered. Decent food (for American Japanese) but if you have experience with real Japanese food you will be disappointed with price and food quality.
Food was good but the service did not meet the expectations. The waitress was rude and the owner was stubborn without any reason to do so.
So disappointing. The decor is the highlight of the experience with booths arranged and partitioned to give a sense of privacy and intimacy. The sushi is just poorly executed. It's the sushi equivalent of if you have a high schooler a master's vision and paintbrush - they'd still paint with inadequate techniques to get the job done. The flavors should work, the fish is good, but was destroyed by clumsy work at the sushi bar. The trademark roll, the Blake was destroyed by being doused by the sushi chef in soy which made it completely soaked and so salty as to be difficult to eat. Any roll with sauce was just soaked by a heavy hand, unbalancing flavor and texture. At a corner shop run by a local family, this might be acceptable. At a resort restaurant charging $200 for a dinner for two, the bar is higher. And this food didn't even get in the same league as what the price would imply. I took my wife here on our first getaway date in years, and this was an abysmal night. I say night because the wait staff is understaffed and despite knowing and ordering what we wanted quickly, it was more than an hour and a half before we were done. Our waitress was kind and did exactly what was needed but seemed to be covering everywhere inside and out, constantly moving. I could not honestly recommend this location. It was a disappointment despite hearing such great things about the Aspen location.
Honestly this place looked really good on open table and my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. Food is what you typically expect from a sushi place.. you are not going to get some life changing dish here. You’re easily spending $100+ per person and it’s just not worth it. The worst part about my experience is that we were sat at 9pm for dinner and told at 9:27pm that last call would be in 3 minutes. Doesn’t really give us much time to decide if we want more. Our server Elizabeth was also busy on her phone for the majority of our dining experience. She didn’t ask if we were enjoying our food or if we needed anything else after we made our initial order. Not for anything if I’m spending $100+ for sushi I can get for $20 at home I expect much better service
Good food but watch out. They charge incredible 18% gratuity and also include a “Kitchen appreciation” tax. Never seem this in my life.
Definitely not worth it! Way too overpriced and not so great. Portions are tiny. We were still hungry after spending $800 for 4 adults and 4 kids.
One of my worst sushi experience. The portions were small and really expensive for average quality sushi. Beware of the gratuity fee that they charge for a take out order.
Very bad food and the people who serve you are very unfriendly. Also very expensive.
Rarely saw our server, tough to get drinks, plates, etc. Dishes were forgotten, served haphazardly. Manager stopped and joked about it but did nothing to correct. It was a really unpleasant experience. Would never go back.
Food is incredible just like the location in aspen. Been living here for 6 years and love kenichi but the snowmass location service is terrible. Again the food is great but the service was rude. I was trying to find my party and the staff was too busy pushing me out of the way to ask where my table was. Our server was great but the gentleman that served our drinks told me to get out of the way when I was trying to get to my seat at the table (that he was serving the same drinks to…) like I said, great food, but very pushy staff.
Worst experience possible. The manager Brent was unaccommodating and his assistant ( with blonde hair using the iPad) refused to tell me her name. For a brand new restaurant trying to make a good first impression in Snowmass I give it zero stars.
Food was good. Service was terrible. Sat at the bar and served by the manager. Asked for a bar napkin and a fork for my mother and father and were told "yall are killing me." Later we asked to split the bill into 2. He scoffed and said no. (I thought he was joking) but he came back with one bill. Set it down and left the room until a waiter came for the bill. Very rude. We will not be back.
