The best BBQ you can find in Tahoe! We visit Tahoe every year and of course we go to Sonney’s! Nothing in the menu disappoints! Their brisket, beef ribs, fried onion, baked potato, coleslaw, and corn bread are our favorites! Their staff are very kind and friendly. Highly recommended!

Good food, good service, wait staff are attentive. Oh, and they are dog friendly. The food was delicious. Pictured are the nachos and half chicken meal. The brisket was gone before I remembered to take pictures. Fantastic establishment.

Blown away! Such delicious bbq. You can smell the smoke as you’re getting out of the car. The Pig Wing is one of the most delicious appetizers we’ve ever gotten! Great atmosphere. Love the indoor/outdoor space. We got 2 platters so we could try a little of everything. Ribs and brisket were a 10/10! The smoked chicken was so great too! The potato salad and coleslaw were our favorite sides. We will definitely be back!

A very Tahoe place friendly to dogs and humans. There is even a pool table and outside seating. Pulled pork sandwiches and sliders were so tasty. I added the other sauces on top of the sauce they can with. The sweet and smoky was the best. My friend was over the moon about the Turkey melt. Shrimp and grits were tasty too. Service was good. Food came fast.

We keep coming back, great food, great atmosphere. The outdoor seating has that built-out, rustic feel like a sports bar made of wood, right down to the chairs. Warm, inviting vibes all around. The food hits every time. We’ll be back again, no question.

Really great experience here! First off, the place was pretty calm for a Saturday night which I appreciated. Alexander, our waiter was super friendly and really just a chill guy. Also the food was great! I ordered a burger medium rare and it was perfect. I also love how dog friendly they are! I met Misty(dog) there who I hear is a regular around here and she really brought up the vibes. I also really liked the warm towels brought over after the meal to clean our hands off. Overall great spot and would highly recommend!

TLDR: the general consensus is the ribs are dry, do not fall off the bone & overpriced. The ribs tasted good; they did not fall off the bone, but they were tender. The collard greens would have been great, but they were a bit salty. I enjoyed the fries; they were perfectly cooked. The best part of our experience was April. She was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. She gave us food recommendations and let us know about the puppy patties they offer

Great spot for bar food and an Americana vibe. I’m a vegetarian and was able to find multiple options, and my friends said the BBQ was great. Super friendly staff, and rotating beers on tap as well as basic wines and cocktails.

After driving by a few times, and checking the location for reviews, our family decided we wanted to check out the BBQ at Sonney’s! We were a big group of 9, and went for lunch without a reservation - but fortunately they were not busy and there were ample options for seating indoors and outdoors. Our server was very polite, and did a pretty good job at making sure that everyone’s orders were in and made correctly - but unfortunately my father-in-laws order was never put in. And after waiting over 30mins, we decided to cancel it (although I doubt the kitchen ever received it). For my order, I went for the “Pig Wings” and BBQ rib platter with the beef and pork ribs! Both were delicious - especially the unique spin on the pork shanks with the “Pork Wings”.

Potato salad was good 8/10 for me. Not to flavorful. Simple and good. I like the potato chunks. Onion Rings is 8/10. Well seasoned. Can be eaten without sauce. Corn bread 7/10. Not too dry. Butter 9/10. Sweet and creamy. Ribs is 6/10 for me. Plain by itself. Okay with sauce. Brisket is 5/10 for me. Alse plain by itself. Was not fall apart, dry. Okay with sauce. They had 4 sauce at each table. Only liked one of them. Keylime by is 6/10 for me. Very sour and sweet. You can really taste the condensed milk. Hot Pudding dessert is 8/10 for me. Not too sweet. Tasty warm dessert. Atmosphere: At 11am, the Atmosphere was peaceful and chill. Nice outdoor area. Potential for lively at night(pool table, bar area, TV). Staff: Our waitress was nice and attentive.

The overall dining experience was good. The waiter and service were great. However, the food was subpar. The brisket was dry and rather chewy. You shouldn’t need a knife for a brisket. I’m pretty sure the baked beans had liquid smoke in them as well.

It's my second time eating at Sonney's BBQ. The first time was in 2016. Our highlights were the Lamb burger, the pulled pork sandwich, and the beef brisket sandwich. I must say the beef brisket sandwich was very good 👍 Disappointment: My 15 year old ordered the 1/2 rack of Baby Back Ribs. Well, I ended up giving her half of my beef brisket sandwich because the Ribs were a bit tough and may have been undercooked. I even used the steak knife to cut some pieces off the Ribs, but it was a bit rough. The waiter serving us was not too communicative. He was also working the bar and was chatting with other customers. I didn't bring up the Ribs because of this. We are invited by friends to go here again tonight, but we won't be stopping by here tonight or in the future. I do recommend trying Sonney's at least once and judge for yourself. The Jalepeno cornbread was good.

Have been here several times. The brisket salad is absolutely delicious. The ribs are always tender and yummy. Fun place with outdoor seating as well as a bar area with lots of tvs.

The brisket was fine. I wished it was softer. The sides were my star of the show. The garlic mashed potatoes were flavorful. The Mac and cheese were cheesy and creamy.

First time. We came hoping it delivered though reviews were mixed. I think it is “mediocre” at best. Perhaps it’s because we came for lunch and the freshly smoked meats were still in smoker. The “brisket” was overcooked and super dry. And that should never be the case. The “pulled pork” was good but there was more coleslaw than meat so we were disappointed. On the bright side, the fries were great. Staff were friendly. Draft beer selection was limited and not meant for serious beer drinkers. I really wished it was better. Oh well.

The portions for the brisket were small, it was expensive, and the meat was definitely not 'melt in your mouth.' The baby BBQ ribs were dry and had almost no sauce. The beer wasn't cold enough. On the positive side, the staff and venue were great. I can see how this place was once great, but it’s definitely not the same anymore. Also, the lighting on the backyard tables was insufficient.
