Shockingly good spot — don’t judge it from the outside Honestly, this place is the definition of don’t judge a book by its cover. From the outside it looks a little run-down, and inside there’s only two small tables, so I wasn’t expecting much. But the guy working there is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met at a food spot. I had no idea what to order, so he just said, “Don’t worry, I’ll whip something up for you.” Bro… he brought out this hero on the crunchiest, freshest bread I’ve ever had — stuffed with chicken, tomato, pesto, and some kind of cheese magic. Easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in NYC. My friend wasn’t even hungry and only wanted dessert. He didn’t like what they had premade, so the guy literally made him a whole new dessert on the spot. Like who does that anymore? The food was amazing, the service was even better, and the whole vibe felt super personal and genuine. If you want a low-key gem where the owner actually cares about what he’s serving, this is the spot. Absolutely five stars. I’m definitely coming back.
The owner and his associates here are great. They're so warm and funny. A great neighborhood place. The pizza is crispy, not soggy at all and flavorful. The homemade gelato is awesome as well. Will definitely come back. Do yourself a favor and try this place
My brother always orders here and I was in town and decided to try. First impression was very quiet, clean, and welcoming. Very nice breeze with door open - fresh air. The owner was very friendly and so was his staff - all smiles. We ordered a pie with two gelato and chicken roll. Oh My God! The Pistacio and cioccolato (Peter helped pronounce correctly lol)Gelato was absolutely delicious, smooth, and flavorful! They also have pastries quality authentic Italian Food love it 👌🏻. Now when we got home the chicken Roll, and pizza delicious! Did I mention all made fresh ;) It is fairly priced a must try and plenty of parking. Will visit agian! Thank you Peter for the experience :)

Love the food. The owners are warm and friendly. The food is good, my favorite is the carini hero. Excellent rice balls. The pizza is good too! They have a very quaint room for parties and dinner.

What used to be M&J pizzeria if you could call it a pizzeria is NOW II SAPORE CAFE , new taste different cooks ,better pizza maker ,! The food is great , delicious, as was overheard after a party exited the restaurant,I stopped in for a square and it wasn't big and doughy like the last time I wa their an the Sicilian rice ball...off the charts a must if you're into Rice balls,Pete works hard and Isa good man ,thank you Pete and his wife for the hard work you put in eeryday
Had the grandma pizza. Was so good. I never tasted grandma pizza like that before . You definitely have to check out this place.
I so love everything they make Lori makes such delicious dishes and Peter's pizzas are out of this world ‼️ I usually order a tray of baked ziti and meatballs on the weekends soooooo delicious 😋

A small but very personable restaurant. The vodka penne pizza is fantastic. Prices are even a little bit cheaper than other locations. Parking is quick and easy. Extensive Italian menu, you will not be disappointed. I live three blocks away and go there all the time.
A mom and pop place. Had minestrone and ravioli. Bought a plate of cookies for Christmas. Lovely owners take pride in their dishes. Excellent recommendations.
Found this place after landing at EWR from Georgia - amazing! Don’t let the storefront area deter you from going in. Fresh baked bread for our caprese panini and our 17yr old son ate 3 huge pieces of pizza. The owner is so nice and wants to be sure you love it. No way not to! Seriously great food and a super nice guy!
Every time I order, the family is extremely kind and the food is fantastic. Love their pasta and meatballs and the baked ziti.

Their pizza is typical, old style Brooklyn pizza, slices, squares, it's GREAT! BUT, some of the entree's I've had were on the bland side, like chicken francais, and the pasta amatriciana....I still recommend it!
