OMG!!!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 10 STARS I WOULD!!!!! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! I live over an hour away and I would drive back just to have some more!!! Whatever they are doing, DO NOT CHANGE A THING!!! My order arrived in less than 20 minutes!!! It was super hot and very well packaged!! The menu items are pricey but THIS is the type of customer service I am willing to pay to have!!! Thank you Da Nina's!! I will be back soon!!!
Aside from the food being made to perfection every time, Abe and the rest of the staff is equally impressive. You're treated like family from the moment you walk in, and upon leaving, you're already thinking about when you'll be returning. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
The fruitti di mare and the oysters was so fresh and delicious. There ice cream was the perfect dessert. Abel was great to us.And the atmosphere was good and it is very clean.loved sitting outside.
You want authentic Italian food and service? Come here. I had the trout tonight. Exactly what I wanted light and delicious. Do yourself a favor and order anything. You won't be disappointed with the food or crew.
This is one of our favorite restaurants and our favorite in Rockland. The specials are extensive, inventive, original and delicious. The staff is extremely attentive, curtious, and super friendly. I've NEVER had an unpleasurable experience here. I highly recommend this tasty experience and give Da Nina 5 + stars.
Great food and wonderful staff. A bit pricy and smaller portions but it’s a great place to treat yourself after a hard day of work. Unique recipes and food is well seasoned not salty and delicious.
Had an amazing lasagna Bolognese with three meats tonight. The saladwas fresh and delicious and the side of balsamic vinegar was a nice touch. Service was good we were seated immediately and ultimately very happy with out dinner.
We had the lasagna, orrechiette with shrimp and broccoli rabe as a main course and stuffed roasted peppers as an appetizer. Everything was perfectly prepared and served. The taste was excellent and the service was perfect. We will be returning with friends!
The food is great. The service is impeccable. The restaurant was in the movie The Irishman. So the atmosphere is Italian mid century. Great place to impress on that 1st date.
1st time here, everything was very good, from the fresh bread, fried calamari, main dish (lasagna with meat sauce special & chicken Marco Polo) to the carrot cake. Will definitely be back! (We are only in the area for a week, but will come again!)
This is a small restaurant with superb Ambiance and service. The food is always beautifully presented and it's delicious as it looks. One of my favorites. Don't hesitate to try.
Amazing! Absolutely loved it! Owner is so sweet and attentive and kind. Food was incredible. Really enjoyed it stayed for like 2 hrs cause it was such a good atmosphere!
Delicious Italian food, nice atmosphere and amazing service- Vinni was the Best! My son doesn't like tomatoes but he ate the bruschetta like it was candy. Everything else fabulous as well! Sadly we live on the west coast but if we are ever back in NJ or have any friends coming this way, Da Ninas is a must! 5+ stars
Perfecto! Our party of 5 loved it! The food was excellent and the service was amazing. We hit it on a holiday so the normally full restaurant was comfortably quiet...
Great food and service. Classic Italian American restaurant. Discovered this place on the way back from hiking in harriman on the way back to the city. Order the baked clams and a veal Milanese cutlet with their amazing bruschetta on top. It will be exactly like Don Pepe's in Ozone Park. I had a nice glass of cheap house red wine and I felt like I was in some weird scene of Goodfellas and the sopranos combined. I was Joe pesci and for some odd reason Governor Cuomo was there laughing and celebrating with us. Will definitely go back here next time I leave the city.
My family and I had a great virtual restaurant experience thanks to da Nina delivery. The times have been tough during quarentine, but da Nina delivered a great meal and met all expectations!
Awesome food! And the staff is so attentive and first class. Was visiting from Florida and all I can say is my veal parmesan was the best I've ever had. Wife loved the shrimp scampi too. If your in the area and looking for a wonderful evening out, take my word and just go there. You will not be disappointed!
The best restaurant around! We've been going for over 30 years! It's our go-to place for special occasions, parties, or "just because." We've never been disappointed with any meal. The food is amazing!! Everyone is treated well, and with a smile. It's a great place to treat yourself for a nice lunch, or night out.
Service was amazing and food was amazing. We were not rushed and it almost felt like the entire staff was dedicated to us. They were friendly, warm and gracious. It was our first time there but definitely not our last! Really gratified to have found daNina! THANK YOU daNina’s!!!!
Good afternoon, We were lucky enough to have dined at your restaurant last evening. We were seated outside. It was 6:00 and I must say that there were two OUTSTANDING waiters, one woman, one man who treated us like royalty. Each one was so efficient and made sure our orders were perfectly executed. As a business owner myself, I know how you must feel knowing that your employees are representing your establishment like it were his own. You will be seeing us again soon.
Well, what can we say, other than that Da Nina NEVER drops the ball. Wonderfully fresh specials, kind and courteous service and the owner of the restuarant is ALWAYS on site for any questions. My wife and I met family for a beautiful late afternoon saturday dinner. I had tequila lime mussels as an appetizer, my wife had a shrimp special, where the (4)collase shrimp tasted more like mini lobster tails. My brother had the baked oysters that were fresh and delicious. My sister-n-law had clams casino which were perfectly prepared. After we shared our delicous appetizers we moved onto our mains. I had the Veal Valdostano special, bone in veal chop stuffed with fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, and spinach in a cognac demi glaze. Simply outstanding, so much that my brother ordered one as well. My wife had the halibut special that was delicately prepared in a garlic pesto and citrus sauce over a bed of arugula and fresh garden vegatables. The halibut flaked off immediately and melted in your mouth. My sister-n-law had the meat lasagna special and will flash you back to grandma's house on a sunday afternoon. We are local to the area and have been dining at Da Nina's for the past (15) years and they never disappoint. Reservations are recommended for the weekends, however, during the week day you can quietely enjoy a date night or family get together. Do yourself a favor, and mark this restaurant as a MUST to dine and enjoy the ambience and fantastic service! It is impossible to be disappointed.
Wow. They have a $25 3 course dinner for Rockland Restaurant week. It is amazing the quality of the food and how much they give you. Been going for many years and have never walked out of this restaurant disappointed. Great service also. If you are in the area treat yourself to this place. Much better than higher priced establishments in Bergen County.
Ordered take out for a much needed quarantine date night. Excellent service. Our food was delivered quickly, packaged neatly, and still hot in a box. The portions were very generous and the food was DELICIOUS!! Thank you for a much needed “dine in” experience. Will definitely be ordering again.
Amazing food! They delivered to our hotel and could not have been nicer! Perfectly cooked calamari... the best marinara sauce I've had in a long time. Generous portions and Cannoli for all of us at no charge!
The service of the great food and staff was always there to make sure things were good, and they were.
Had a wonderful evening at this great Italian restaurant. Our waitress Rosa was exceptional & the food & drinks superb. Definitely will be returning!
My friends and I stopped there on our way home to Montreal. Amazing food, very affordable, authentic Italian cuisine. The lady who served us was great, honestly we were stunned; it was the best food we had in days after our trip to NYC.
Just had a wonderful dining experience here. Delicious food. Comfortable surroundings. Amazing service. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Our party of four was entirely pleased with everything about this place. Our food was delicious, service was prompt and polite, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. White tablecloths! Wish we had time to stay for dessert. We will definitely have go back!!
First time here. Was able to make last minute reservations as we had to drive an hour to meet friends who live in Rockland. Food was great. Vinny our server was right on point. Great suggestions for dinner and his service was impeccable. Will definitely go back.
Delicious food, from the bread to the apps to the entrees and dessert. Lovely vibe and drinks. Had an amazing 70th birthday for my mom and family and service was excellent. A total gem of the county.
I needed to obtain a restaurant for a funeral. I am not local to the area so I had no idea what restaurants were good or not. When calling this restaurant to do a catering menu for the funeral they were beyond helpful. The family absolutely loved the food, which made me feel that much better in my choice for picking this restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone!
First time eating there was an excellent experience. Atmosphere was comfortable, the young waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and food was good. To be safe I ordered chicken parm and it was the best I had in a longtime. Definitely would return
This was a great Italian restaurant! We had no reservations, but they still found a place for us! We had the Caesar salad, chicken Marsala and spinach Alfredo with shrimp and clams Everything was so delicious we stayed for dessert which included a piece of tiramisu and apple crumble pie. The Tiramisu had a great strong coffee taste and the apple pie has real apples, not apple filling! Both were sooo yummy!
Always good! We’ve been dining here for many years Rudy and his family run a wonderful restaurant. Food is consistently delicious and the staff make you feel like one of the family
Went here honoring my grandfather after his funeral. The owner gave us great attention and care and the food was great - I particularly liked the chocolate mousse. Very strongly recommend, particularly for large groups.
Had not gone here in many many years, to me the test is the veal. Was going to order the parm but was talked into the stuffed veal chop with prosciutto, mozzarella and spinach. It was phenomenal, melted in your mouth. Great safe outdoor dining, very attentive staff and owner.
Never do I review after one visit, which was today. But after reading the negative comments I feel I must say something. So, you've been coming here for a while, satisfied, and then something not to your liking occurred this ONE time or during the pandemic and NOW you post a review? My lunch was great! Fine bread, bruschetta, and tasty butter inclusive. Shrimp Rappollo... delicious. Great service. I so wish I could have finished the macaroni in that sauce! If I lived around by youse I'd be there at least weekly. See you again soon for Dinner.
Everything about daNina restaurant was excellent! I wish it was closer to my home. Excellent service, food and ambiance.
Excellent food at a very reasonable price and the service is top notch would highly recommend
First time eating here. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very welcoming. The food was very delicious and fresh. Definitely worth coming back.
This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. The have consistently put out great food for decades. The quality has not waned since it opened to acclaim. I felt they could have used one more waiter on the floor, but everyone that helped us (which I think was everyone at some point) was friendly and helpful. An above average staff. The food is excellent. The menu is typical high end Italian, but the numerous specials were fairly unique. Everyone at my table was very happy with their meal. It has a cozy atmosphere, it's small but I never felt crowded.
Great food & service. If the waiter makes a suggestion, go with it! They know good food! Wish we would have taken a family photo while we were there. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience dining in your establishment!
Authentic and perfect. I dream about their food. They have a big variety and everything is yummy, especially their specials. Would go back again and again. They can probably skip the spaghetti coming out of the food though. A little weird… thought it was like lobster antennas the first time but then realized it came on everything and what exactly it was. I ate my whole plate which i rarely do so it was GOOD
What is so great about this restaurant. Is like you feel you are in Italy the food is amazing the service is amazing the little music in the background is amazing everything is amazing here. If you are hungry come here I have had only good experience with this restaurant 🙂🙂🙂
I have loved this restaurant for many years. Go you will not be disappointed.
Da Nina, One of the best kept secrets of the lower Rockland County area. Rudy provides an epicurean delight for lovers of Italian food. Veal selections you can cut with a fork. From Starters to deserts Rudy provides the Trinity of success; ambiance, Quality & Service. A true dining repast dining at DaNina.
It was our first time, and we will be back. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! The food was delicious! My daughter loved their homemade marinara sauce!
Lovely m, balanced, and fresh meals and such a kind staff! They went above and beyond in care for our family group with kids. The outdoor eating area is spacious and pretty. We’ll definitely be back!
In walking around the area, we came to this restaurant on a whim and had a party of 15. The staff here took us in and altered their tables to accommodate all of us. We were showered in absolutely delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts. I could not express how incredible every dish was here. It was a wonderful surprised to stumble upon this restaurant to be greeted and accommodated the way we were. I will make it a priority to come back to this restaurant every single time I am in town. Well done daNina. You’ve truly outdone yourselves.
We were staying one night in Suffern and decided to try daNina for dinner. We had a fabulous dinner. Between us, we ordered appetizers (raw oysters), pasta, gnocchi and a veal chop, then dessert (plus a nice bottle of chianti). Everything was amazing and all cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was very comfortable. There was a large party having a birthday and a bunch of tables of regular diners like us. We had very nice service even though they were quite full. My only regret was only having one night in Suffern. We would have eaten dinner there again and again! Will definitely stop the next time we come through town.
Just returned from another great diner. Never a disappointment
The service was exceptional, I was very impressed! Abel and Brody were wonderful hosts, very personable and generous. The waitress was so friendly and always available when needed. The food was excellent, everything from appetizer to main course. I hope this restaurant continues its legacy for many years to come! We will be taking friends back, as soon as possible. Bon appétit!
The restaurant was clean, the food was delicious, and the service was very good. I will definitely be back.
Traditional style Italian food, everything is great. If the waiter makes a suggestion, go with it. We really enjoy dining in your establishment and loved the food! I wish we had taken some photos but we were distracted by the great food and wine! Cibo eccellente!!!
Complimentary bruschetta was awesome. Caesar salad was underwhelming. Veal parm was tasty. Apple strudel was the perfect finishing touch. Most importantly, service was top notch and friendly!
We are late to the party. Just found this gem of a place!!! The entire experience was outstanding. Highly recommend. .
I am never running to write a review … But this restaurant is just too amazing not too …just last night … my husband and I found this place and decided to dine there. I order gnocchi with pesto sauce and they had no pesto, but the waiter said he would ask and they made it for me…. When I tell you, it was absolutely so delicious. There was an abundance of rich pesto sauce on my gnocchi with a doble of ricotta. My husband had the stuffed pork chop and he said it was really good …. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere is calming the restaurant is beautiful and super clean … We also had the stuffed pumpkin, and it was absolutely delicious as well …. And the homemade mozzarella with prosciutto and sun-dried peppers absolutely amazing … A lot of credit to the staff and the kitchen for creating such beauties !!!! Although it was a bit pricey … it’s worth it !!!! I highly recommend and we will be going back for sure …
Came for a 70th birthday celebration. Everyone loved their meals. Attentive service but not overbearing. I had a sausage rigatoni with broccoli rabe that was mouth watering.
This place is delicious! The calamari, the butternut squash soup , pasta, dessert was all delicious!!! Definitely coming back and the hospitality was on point.
Celebrated Father's Day with my wife and daughters here. Old world Italian restaurant. A real gem. We had 4 different dishes and each one was delicious. The service was 5 stars, she was wonderful. My wife and I had one of the best Martini's we've ever had. If you are in the area, have dinner there. You won't be disappointed.
I had an extraordinary meal. The Chicken Parmigiana was too die for. A cozy, intimate, friendly eating experience is a description that doesn't scratch the surface of this local venue. Every bite is worth the price. Rudy, the owner is a visible, approachable, personable pleasure. Thank You for a Great Dinner!
We visited daNina last year and I completely forgot to write a review. The food was amazing, the best calamari that my husband and I ate, the lasagna is for sure traditional Italian, just it’s not best that my Nonna’s lasagna. If you are missing a homemade Italian food and high quality food, you could give it a try.
The best piccata I've had. I usually go for chicken piccata but I went for the veal this time and was not disappointed. All of the servers were great and attentive. The bread was perfect - the crust was the perfect crispness and the instead was so soft and airy. I would come back to NY just to eat here again.
A little hole in the wall. Everyone wears a suit and has a smile on their face, and sweat on their brow. They clearly loved what they do, and they do it so well. The place was packed and everyone was stuffing their face. The food was hot and the company was great. We sat at the table and they brought us some nice thick cut bread with a Italian version of pico de gaio, it was really good with the bread. We all ordered and the food was great! I ordered carbonara, cause I was craving it, but I didn't see it on their menu. So I asked our very nice waiter and he said no problem, and I asked again if they could make it and he assured me it was no problem. And it was really good. I ate all the sauce with the extra bread. I would recommend they put it on the menu. I will definitely come back!
Fun little local spot. The food and service were great. I was there for a business meeting with three other individuals who all felt the same. A great find. I will be returning.
Held a company holiday dinner there for 16 people it was quite small everybody had to nudge pear our chairs and the lights were doing this weird flickering like a bad horror film. Other than that food was excellent and service was great!
The food was very good and the service was very deliberate. The price of an inexpensive whiskey on the rocks was far out of line, however, at $18 per pour. But then I guess no one should go to an Italian restaurant for whiskey. Overall, it was a good experience. I would go back again and consequently suggest you give it a try if you have a mind to.
Food was good. Service was good as well but it was a party and outside in 90 plus. It was covered but not enough air flow in these Temps. That's why the 4 star. They had ceiling fans but it did t help. Uncomfortable to enjoy the good salmon dish they had.
It was Father's Day Friday and the place was packed. There was a party going on upstairs. The menus is extensive and I thought the worst. The fried calamari was fresh and hot and not too salty. The meat lasagne was a special and that too was quite good. The noise level would be my only complaint.
Nice atmosphere, terrific food and service. Everyone in our party was very enthusiastic about their food and we all agreed the service was excellent. They maintain a level of service that's a bit higher than the norm today. The entire staff work together as a team, but Paula seemed to be our primary server and she was terrific. She impressed us right off with her presentation of the specials. I don't think the chef could have presented them more eloquently. We all ended up ordering something off the specials and we were not disappointed. The whole experience was completely enjoyable, from start to finish. There is the one caveat with the credit card surcharge. It's an unfortunate trend that a lot of places are jumping on lately.
The food is amazing. The service was not the same. We waited over 40 minutes for our meal and the hostess/waitress never came back again. We wanted to order dessert although because no one returned we asked another waitress to get ours for a check. Again great food! But service is key!
Absolutely loved the time I had here for dinner. 4 stars because I stepped outside of my comfort zone and wasn’t necessarily my favorite. I do intend to go back and try something more my speed! Also tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had!!
was very disapointed : the quality on the meat and when the waiter/waitress give your the "specials" never mentionned how much they are ; any entrees on the menu are about 24.00 dollars ; the specials are $42.45 .... but isn't ever mentionned and was surprise on the difference between menu and specials :"we do not want to offend the client...." I was very turn off by the answer and though very convenient location, 3 miles from my house, never going to patronize it again. The disapointment was also the reaction of the owner (Rudy) very "well it is the price for that kind of meat"....please I know the prices of meats and very used to go to restaurants this are "Manhattan prices"....
To begin, this review is solely based on our experience during the pandemic. The restaurant did a nice job converting the parking lot to a dining area. Plenty of soft lighting and tables were space appropriately. We were seated and each distributed flatware that was neatly wrapped in plastic wrap with an alcohol wipe for sanitizing. So far so good. After a while someone came with water. It took about 10 minutes before someone came back for drink orders and another 5 or so with bread. After that it all went down hill with the service. They were clearly understaffed and the employees were working to get each table what they needed. Unfortunately this understaffing lead to us sitting at a table for about an hour before we got any food. We actually had to flag down the server to put in our order and after about 35 minutes of waiting were told that sometimes it takes 35 to 40 minutes to make the special that they had on the menu!! Hmmmm, I've been to restaurants from East Coast to West Coast and it is just bad business to even put an item on the menu that takes that long to prepare. Again, the staff was professional and as accommodating as they could be, there just weren't enough of them to go around. The food was good, most at my table were very satisfied with the food, however the staff never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks and never asked if we wanted dessert (which after waiting for so long just to get our food, wasn't even an option, but still). Over all I gave them a 3 for effort and quality of food. I do hope that they hire more staff. I must note I have eaten at this establishment pre pandemic and the service was good; however since this is the most recent it is only fair that I share this most recent experience.
The service was a bit all over the place. I think we were served by upwards of 3 different wait staff, which was kind of confusing. None of them were particularly friendly either. Perhaps an off/busy day, but they really didn't seem happy to be there. They also upcharge for paying in card vs cash. Okay option with decent food and pricing, but probably wouldn't go back.
This was my first time dining here, I wanted to love it but our experience here made it quite the opposite. We had a dinner reservation for our group of 8 with a high chair that was requested upon making the reservation. When we arrived to our table no high chair was set up which isn't a big deal, however when we asked the server for the high chair they literally just brought it over and left it in the middle of the dining room, basically leaving us to set it up ourselves then proceeded to walk away after leaving us with the high chair set up. Service was slow, granted we had a large group but we asked if the kids entrees could be served first because they were hungry. Our server said all the food would be out shortly, another 15 mins or so went by before our food came out. I don't understand why he couldn't just go check if the kids meals were ready and bring it out first. The food was good, nothing spectacular but the service was not. Our server frequently disappeared and we had to flag someone else down. Yes it was busy but it wasn't like our server was busy running around. There was a total of 3 servers, only 1 was busy running around and it wasn't our server. Our server did not come to check on us to see if we needed refills on our drinks the entire meal and also didn't come check on us after our food came out to see how we were doing.
**edited in response to the business ** The outdoor atmosphere was very nice. They charge 4% (3.99% , I stand corrected) cc fee to the customer which is very high. **the typical fee places charge is 3.5%. It is also not listed on the menu that they charge the customer. **we did not know about the charge until we already paid so we did not know to pay with cash like suggested below.** The sign is only on the front door which you do not see when you go to outdoor seating. They also charge per soft drink.**they have every right to do so but I would like to know this before going somewhere so I included it in my review. We dropped some food in the soda and asked for a new one. There was no bug like the business stated and we were still charged for it. In fact we were charged for an extra wine on the bill which was taken off promptly when we brought it to their attention politely. The meals were not that great. **The farfalle with shrimp and scallops was extremely oily. Two bugs and a hair was in my meal. The server saw the bugs. I did understand we were outside and I was not about to make a scene over anything, especially with people handling my food so I did my best to eat around. The shrimp and scallops were good in the meal but I don’t prefer it with as much oil. I ate a quarter of the meal and was asked to take it home and I said no thank you. The flavor of the meal was fine but I prefer my meals to be lighter and less oily. The only meal we took home was the gnocchi bolognese which I would recommend you get there. The shrimp marinara was also not finished or taken home. The clams with linguini and spinach linguini with clams and shrimp was finished. This was a half portion which is a great option if you know you can do that. The children’s vodka sauce was very light and more of a pink sauce which is how I would prefer it.** The desserts were all great, **especially the blueberry pie and crème brûlée which had a lemon hint. Our 2 year old was drinking his water cup and threw it on the ground. **I was very surprised by the situation and taken aback I had no clue what to say without sounding rude myself so I awkwardly laughed. ** The server picked it up and scolded him for throwing it, kept it under her armpit with an open straw, and gave it back to him saying if he threw it again she would take it. **Even though the intention may have been playful like the business stated below, I stand by this not being appropriate and I don’t know why I would have to tell another adult that. They are correct, the server was attentive and they did ask if we wanted refills promptly.** Overall, I would not return **especially after their response below. **I typically write short, factual reviews and do not appreciate the restaurant attacking my character and telling me how to handle a situation. I did try to reach out to the restaurant privately after their response below and will update my review upon their response to me.
I hate doing this but i have to. DaNina’s is a small business which normally has incredible food. It is one my favorites and we have been going their for years. We have tried very hard to support local business but it has been hard to justify paying $30 for an entree. Still all this time, when we want something special, we are grateful that Da Nina’s always delivered, well sort of. One time we ordered from door dash and our order wasn’t correct. We called and the person who picked up told us he didn’t care. It wasn’t a big deal. They gave us dessert instead of the appetizer we ordered. But last night was unacceptable. I understand that restaurants are having trouble but we as consumers are doing whatever we can to support these small businesses but I cannot ever again justify paying $28.95 for a chicken parmigiana that I don’t even know was chicken. It was the worst chicken parm I have ever eaten. I forced it down my throat. The sauce was amazing, the order was right, but the chicken, was rubber. I have supported this business through the pandemic and well I would continue but the prices are just not worth it and the food is no longer cooked with love. I hope that the owners read this and do something about it. Da Nina’s lost a good customer last night and I understand that it’s covid but if you are going to stop your quality of food, then you should not be charging $30 for an entree. The food last night, I could have paid 7.95 at a pizzeria. Never again will I order DaNina’s and I hope through this, the owner will remember that a successful restaurant is successful because they cook with love. They cook with passion. This is beyond sad.
My husband and I ate here last night and spent $75 on 2 pasta dishes, a beer, a mixed drink and a seltzer. That’s it. No appetizers, no dessert. That’s NYC pricing - not pricing worthy of Suffern, NY. To make things worse, the “special” pasta dish we got (about $25 each, which they didn’t tell us) was supposed to be linguini with a butter/garlic sauce and our choice of sausage or shrimp - we asked two different servers. What we got was linguini with over cooked broccoli rabe and shrimp in a lemon soup. We tasted no other seasoning than the lemon on the brown broccoli rabe, and all of it was in WAY too much liquid. This wasn’t an over the top fancy restaurant and the modest 80’s interior certainly didn’t warrant the cost of what we paid for. It’s unfortunate because we hoped we might’ve found a hidden gem. Instead, we got robbed.
This place is absolutely disgusting any actual Italian can see the disrespect these idiotas show the meals here. More oily than flavorful. Just a disgrace can’t believe they are allowed to charged people for oil pasta in America.
We didn't think the food was great, the service was excellent; but it annoyed us that there was a non-cash adjustment because we paid with a credit card. This is a first for us at a restaurant. We know gas stations routinely advertise either cash or credit; A charge of 4% for the use of a credit card seems a bit much..
To call this restaurant a rip-off is an understatement. My friend and I ordered the veal chop special unknowing that it was $52.00. Part of mine was raw. When I brought this to the waitress's attention she took an attitude and tried to argue with me and became quite surly. Needless to say I will not be returning .Additionally I will not recommend it to anyone I know.
Horrible experience. We were seated in the back of the restaurant in-front of the open kitchen. One of the staff rubbed his nose with his bare hands and then plated meat directly after. We later saw him touch his pants and then handle food again. We raised this to management. They totally ignored our concern (manager and head chef) slapped us with a 2000$ bill and did not acknowledge the issues. Never been so disgusted. Can’t believe the health and safety protocols that are in place. Disappointed
The only positive is that we got a table for 5 without a reservation. The food I'd best describe as " wedding food". There were 5 of us. And only 1 of us actually ate the whole meal. My husband's salmon was COLD. His broccoli was luke warm and so hard that you couldn't chew it. My sons lobster ravioli was disgusting. He did not eat it at all. My daughters pasta dish had a watery sauce. Since when is penne ala vodka watery? My sons sauce with his chicken dish was the same. The bread that came out prior was ROCK HARD. Toasted so much from the oven that when you bit into it all the pieces flew off onto the plate. 3 of us had soda. Plain soda. Each received refills. $46 for that. I got 2 glasses of standard red wine. $14 per glass. Something I'd expect to pay out in an exclusive place off the shores of Long Island. Not Suffern. The only saving grace was the manager removed the price for the meal that was 100% not eaten. This place is always busy. Yearround. Was really looking forward to super great food and received wedding plates. Highly dissatisfied. We are not picky people. But we do like good food. And do not mind paying top dollar for a great meal in a great atmosphere. I am shocked this place is always so packed. Never going here again .
The worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I'm sorry, but it was not tasty at all. Just a bunch of ingredients mixed together with no sense of flavors combination. We couldn't even finish the dinner - that's how awful the food was. $100 for an appetizer, a glass of not great wine and 2 pastas - it wasn't worth it.
